Your Milky Way Horoscope May 11-17, 2008

By Milky Way Maid

Happy Mother’s Day this Sunday, May 11th! What kind of day will it shape up to be? You might want to reschedule if your family is prone to sibling rivalry; I say that because the Sun and Venus in Taurus are approaching a square to the Moon in Leo. The kids could get a bit rowdy trying to impress Mom with how much they spent on gifts or whatever. Each one wants to go back to that blissful moment in time when they were Mom’s or Dad’s little prince and princess -- el Numero Uno. Alas a baby sibling came along and knocked him/her off the tiny throne. So Mom, watch your words very carefully today lest you add fuel to the eternal sibling rivalry. Maybe you’d best schedule one-on-one time using restaurant gift certificates later in the month?

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - The asteroids Pallas and Vesta are in your sign this month, lending you an increased level of leadership and competency in your field. Have you been asked to lead a workshop or give a lecture? Step into bigger shoes and challenge yourself. Pallas is trining Juno, which suggests that a spouse (or daughter) is your key partner in your consulting business, and Vesta is sextiling Mercury, which suggests that speaking or writing engagements are what you most need and enjoy.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 - Sunday p.m. has a happy aspect to Uranus, so be sure to catch that comedy or other TV show. Midday Monday is quite pleasant, even lucky, so accept any favor with thanks (and that might include being treated to lunch). Wednesday late a.m. or midday has a bad aspect to Neptune, so count your change or better yet, brown-bag your lunch; step outside for some air to clear your thoughts. If scheduling a brunch date with one of the kids, the following Sunday, the 18th, has a lovely Venus-Jupiter trine, that promises a wonderful event.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - The Moon squares your Mercury Tuesday evening, giving a power behind your verbal and written communications? Stop and check before you send hasty emails to see if they sound irritated or brusque. But it’s good for letters to the editor. The Moon trining your natal Sun Thur-Fri lends heartfelt emotion to a late Mother’s Day get-together. Sunday the 18th spend time before bed journaling or doing some creative writing.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - You’re less irritated and frazzled now that Mars has exited your sign. Try to enjoy a relaxing Mother’s Day and take a vacation from waiting on everyone. Tues.-Wed. are good for group meetings with local women’s clubs or charitable organizations - your executive abilities are always appreciated there. Speaking of executive abilities, your career can get busier with leadership conferences and consulting assignments.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - - The Moon entered your sign the morning of the 10th and will linger there till mid-afternoon Monday. A Moon in Leo on Mother’s Day leads to everyone jockeying to be the favorite, the apple of Mom’s eye. You might be the worst example of that, so try to be generous to your siblings as well as to Mom. How about a relaxed brunch with the kids coming over to your (Mom’s) house Sunday? Monday morn you might wake from a very interesting dream -- maybe something about digging up buried treasure.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - The Moon is in your sign from about midday Monday thru evening Wednesday. The Moon-Saturn conjunction trines Pluto then; sounds like a time for serious work, introspection, psychoanalysis, drawing up wills, or even just an intense getaway for you and your spouse. Your Moon trines beneficent Jupiter Wed. a.m., when you will feel more generous and confident. It then trines the Sun in Taurus midday for a harmonious working or non-working luncheon.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - The Moon is in your sign from late Wednesday thru min-morn Saturday. Try to analyze a power struggle in view of your own suppressed emotions and memories. Doing so could defuse an explosion, and in effect rewrite the past. On the other hand, suppressing feelings not only leads to a blowup, but irrational acts that jeopardize everything you value. On the work front, early Friday am is great for writing projects, editing, messages, even stock trades. That afternoon favors alternative health visits. Friday evening is great for entertaining, due to a Jupiter aspect, as long as you set a budget for it.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Monday morning at work the Neptune gremlins can slip some errors past everyone; have someone checking one more time before anything gets shipped out. Wednesday morn’s Moon opposition to Uranus could upset you if you let it -- but try to see the funny side; I am sure you will convert it into one of your funnier stories (it has something to do with the kids). Saturday morning the Moon enters your sign -- you could all wrapped up in a mystery novel, or in researching for a report. Make lunch with your spouse a romantic event at home. An evening rush to get things done could end up depleting you; try just setting a timer for fifteen minutes and take a whack at the worst of the chores.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Go ahead and have all the kids together on Mother’s Day -- if you like herding cats, it should be a memorable date. Otherwise, I suggest you divide and conquer. Go out with the teacher son on Tuesday, and the career daughter on the following Sunday for brunch. On the other hand, chaos never really bothers a real Sagittarian. But to be honest, more communication goes on this week with your significant other, with Mercury and Ceres in your seventh house; nurture each other, plant some ‘caring seeds’ and watch them grow.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - Your Mother’s Day is more like the ideal -- the Sun and Venus in your Fifth House of children bring lots of warm wishes and appreciation for all you’ve done. Try not to snipe at the spouse, tho, because he might be a bit jealous and feeling ignored. An opportunity period at work helps everyone get lots done midweek, especially Wednesday early morning. Watch for a Neptune aspect, tho, so make sure everyone is on the same page before starting a push period.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - Lots of caring and nurturing from the kids this Mother’s Day, so accept the lovingly prepared breakfast even if the toast is a tiny bit burned or the milk spilled. Calls and travel are the order of the day. The medium-range forecast is to beware of overdoing anything; moderation is a very good lesson in everything and helps you achieve balance. Meanwhile, Chiron, Neptune and the North Node are all in your sign now, bringing a special focus on wellness for your self-preservation.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - Your health is on an upswing with Mars having entered Leo. Enjoy doing cat exercises, stretching like a cat does to regain your feline flexibility. The asteroids Pallas Athena and Vesta in your second house says to me that consulting with a financial advisor, or even your banker, could bring some sound ideas for managing your investments. Take advantage of any free lectures or forums.
