Your Milky Way Horoscope - May 25-31, 2008

By Milky Way Maid

The Moon is in Aquarius thru the holiday weekend -- bringing an airy quality. No smothering allowed at family get-togethers, but it would be classy if you at least made an appearance. I am really going out on a limb here, but I predict the weather will even cooperate with dry (well, mostly dry) conditions. The weather can be changeable tho, so take sun screen and a jacket. The only threat is that of fire from the Mars in Leo Sunday afternoon, so be super conscientious about charcoal embers, and set grills/roasters well away from your home.

The other thing is that Mercury goes retrograde at 11:48 am Eastern time on Memorial Day --Make sure you have enough gas in the tank, check your plans because there will be misunderstandings over whether I was supposed to come to your place or you were going to come to mine, get the MapQuest directions before setting out, and inquire about roadwork or street closings. Try not to drop the cell phone in the pool or barbecue pit, and always have a Plan B in case equipment fails. In other words, it’ll just be another normal day…
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - Probably you will have more fun spending the holiday with friends this year, due to the Moon in Aquarius (governing your solar house of friends and groups). I don’t see you traveling very far; probably just kicking around your own neighborhood or locality, and I am guessing a lady friend has something to do with that because you want her along. Possibly you’ve been volunteered to help with someone’s home improvement project, but hey, they’re providing the food and beer so you’re OK with that. But we’re appointing you safety officer to see us safely thru the Moon-Mars opposition Sunday afternoon. The Moon is in Aries midday Thurs. thru Sat. afternoon. Friday the 30th will be really productive with all your Sun-Venus-Mars energies activated so channel that into high-energy activities.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 - The Moon will be at your Midheaven on the holiday weekend, leading me to suspect you might use the time to clear some paperwork. Oh, Taurus, don’t you have any imagination? I’ll let you spend no more than half a day on that stuff, then you are under orders to get out and play. Actually Wed. evening is looking best for enjoyment, with the Pisces Moon trining Jupiter in your 5th House -- going to a comedy film or even a night at the local bingo hall should be just the thing. Your funny bone will be activated and ready for tickling. The Moon enters your sign Sat. afternoon - but it’s a serious even somber aspect.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - Man, you will be all over the map this weekend. Venus enters your sign Sat. the 24th, joining the Sun and Mercury, and trining the Aquarius Moon in sequence from Sat. night thru Monday. I think you will need twice as much space as your appt. book gives you, because I expect you have been asked to drop by on several parties or cookouts, plus there are three sales and then you wanted to catch a flick, too. Whew. You’ve cloned yourself, haven’t you? Anyway, Mercury is making a station and then going retrograde Monday morn, so if you do go shopping, save those receipts in case the item just doesn’t meet your needs. And remember to check the rear view mirror every time.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - Try not to feel too distressed if not all family members want to be at your side all weekend. This is a very airy, Aquarius Moon holiday, and the kids may check in with you (for an hour) and then take off on their own. Try not to take it personal. The watery Pisces Moon midweek is much more your style, so ask the kids to stop by for supper and family game night on Wednesday. Things might pick up at work on Friday, at least with small orders.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - Mars is in your Sun sign Leo, and the holiday weekend Moon clicks off transits to it. Mars in Leo means you advance by showing leadership and leading thru your enthusiasm; it also means you lose support if you try to dominate others (authoritarianism) or by hogging the stage. So bear all that in mind when coaxing friends or family to come to your traditional Memorial Day cookout. Don’t order the kids to come over, ask them to stop in and feel free to bring a friend. Ask friends if they’d like to bring their guitar or karaoke, or practice their magic skills on the younger set. You’re still in charge, still keeping the 3-ring circus going, but delegating is a wonderful and under-rated skill.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - Saturn’s current transit in your sign probably doesn’t make you the most popular party guest in the world; however, it does mean that you are very disciplined now about getting all the holiday weekend’s chores done and still allowing yourself time off for ‘good behavior’. I suspect your major tasks will be focused on getting the veggie garden plot up and running for another productive growing season. Monday midday has a challenging Venus-Saturn square; possibly you’ll spend too much at the garden center (or other shopping) if you don’t stick to your list. Possibly you will also feel that career matters are crimping your true style, or that you are unappreciated in general. Give yourself the appreciation, by small pampering touches like the bubble bath, skin creams, or healthy menus. Moon in Taurus trines your Saturn Sat. night, a great opportunity for the traditional ‘Saturday night special’ bubble bath soak and pedicure. And try using affirmations to stay positive.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - The Moon trines your Sun from Aquarius, your solar 5th house, thru the holiday weekend. Sounds like a great weekend to get away for a little romantic get-together, possibly at a resort or lodge. Aquarius rules vineyards, too, so a drive thru wine country also sounds like a great way to relax. The transiting Sun and Venus are also trining your Sun or Ascendant from the 9th house, suggesting a longer trip or flight -- or maybe your significant other is fascinating foreigner.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - - This can’t be the lazy weekend you were hoping for, not with Mars in Leo and Moon-Chiron-Neptune all in Aquarius, forming a T-square for Scorpios. However, it WILL help you dig in to finish a task till it is done. You may be exhausted (Neptune) later, but the to-do list will be noticeably shorter and your head held a bit higher. The transiting Moon conjunct Uranus, sextiling Jupiter, on Wed. night looks great for relaxing with a comedy flick. It’ll be one to recommend to all your friends. The Moon enters your opposite sign Taurus on Sat. which puts the accent on dealing with your wonderful significant other; show your appreciation; don’t be stingy on kisses.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Your spouse may feel a bit neglected among the bustle of the holiday frenzy, so take a second to ask if he/she would like a beverage refill, etc. You yourself are pulled in many different directions this week, with everyone wanting a chunk of your time. You might have to make everyone take a number so you get to everyone in turn! But your weekend will go fast -- heck, your life is often a blur anyway. I don’t see you sitting by the pool or imitating a rock this week.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - Venus inconjunct Pluto early Sunday means that relationships need to be allowed to change, grow, and evolve along with us. This probably applies most to relationships with children, because their growth and increased independence are obvious. But it also applies to parents, siblings, and spouses. We just automatically assume that those individuals remain essentially the same as when we first knew them, when the truth is that they have grown and evolved, sometimes radically, beneath the surface. The holiday weekend throws us all back together, so take the opportunity to get re-acquainted with all of them. It can be fun!

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - The Memorial Day weekend has kicked off with the Moon in Aquarius late Saturday, which leads me to think you will not be spending the holiday alone. Aquarians will be seeking out group events and activities, whether with family or clubs or fellow veterans. You might even volunteer yourself for veterans’ observances or to help man cemeteries or fun runs. Your Moon trines Venus in Gemini late Sat., then the Sun on Sun. morn -- making it definitely the day for spending time with the kids on a trek or cookout. Just be careful of fire safety (or arguments) about 5 pm Eastern, because that is when the Moon opposes Mars in Leo. Once the opposition passes, things should be fine; maybe you’d even consider a twilight cookout or pool party? Monday keep the cell phone handy because lots of messages will be flying to and from the kids.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - The Moon enters Pisces on Tues. morn, which does not really suggest employees buckling down to tackle the piled up work, does it? It suggests people standing around the water cooler sharing stories about their weekend. That’s OK, to a degree, but try to keep it brief. The pm hours feature Moon squares to Venus and the Sun; there may be friction with those close to you, generally involving your attempts to smother them. Your Moon sextiles Jupiter Wed., giving you a confident and generous sense of well-being -- just don’t go shopping!
