Your Milky Way Horoscope Dec. 6-12, 2009

By Milky Way Maid

On Monday, Mercury is conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, and later that night Mercury squares Saturn. This bodes well for reaching penetrating insights and doing research, especially if it is of a scientific (Saturn) nature.

Also on Monday, Jupiter is conjunct Chiron, the wounded healer. Visits to local practitioner of holistic or homeopathic medicine should be productive. Also if you are studying any related field, you should be able to make some progress either in your private study, formal classroom instruction, or in finding a mentor (Jupiter).

On Thursday at 8:18 pm, the Sun in Sag is trine Mars in royal Leo. Sag natives may find enough courage to do what they had never tried before. Also Aries natives will benefit from these planets in the other fire signs. If they happen to trine their native planets, great, because I know that Aries will not be shy about acting on opportunities that arise.

I suggest to Leo natives that the Moon inconjunct Uranus can bring insights and windfalls and other “happy accidents.” However, most of us may feel our emotions (Moon) could burst forth (Uranus) in unpredictable or even damaging ways. You might take control of the situation and work off some of your latent energies in sports, athletics, a long jog, etc. You might prefer to exercise your artistic talents instead, as in painting, writing, singing or playing a musical instrument. I would not be surprised if you suddenly express your deep reserves of talent for the blues, or impressionistic art.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – You will probably join your fire-sign friends at the beginning of the week to watch the football games or other sports. Yes, the games will be good and unless you have plans to play your own version of touch football in the park, you can be found enjoying the rah-rah energy of the crowd. Having said that, I know other Arians who can't sit still through a whole game and would rather get a bunch of chores done. Mars' transit through your solar fifth house of children and recreation increases your drive to finish projects which may or may not be holiday-related. You're also good at playing with the kids to get them out from underfoot, so mom can do the gift-shopping. The Moon-Mars conjunction in Leo could make you press too hard, too fast to finish your chores. Be safe and be alert, Aries.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 -- The Mercury-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn may have you researching traditional recipes on the internet or in old recipe books. Capricorn there sometimes has an antiquarian bent, and so if you happen to luck onto some old books in granny's attic or in a used book shop, you could feel like Christmas came early. Taurus likes to be comfortable; consider finding or making a traditional crocheted throw, bed jacket, or other textile item. Virgo is in your solar fifth house of creativity, and Virgo rules textiles. Taurus may like to knit, crochet, sew, embroider, or otherwise create several Christmas gifts this year.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 -- Gemini is not known for being a sports fanatic, but they are as likely as not to have all the stats at their fingertips. And what with the high level of exciting play this fall, they are sure to also stop at the local sports bar for a bit of fun. Anywhere there is fun, there is a Gemini. The mutable signs are affected by Tuesday's square between Moon in Virgo and Sun-Venus in Sag. Your significant other may feel pressured, so I don't think that giving a deadline, or exchanging expensive presents, is the way to go right now. Just keep on keeping on.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 -- Cancer benefits from the laser-like focus created by the Mercury-Pluto conjunction in the opposite sign. Perhaps you are readying a school or other local event as part of the holiday observances (or are rushing to get projects/reports done before the holidays interrupt the normal business week). You could zoom through financial data on Monday and Thursday, especially. While Moon in Virgo Mon.-Wed. may be more comfortable for you, the next two days, with Moon in Libra, will really put the irons to the fire and have you pressing to get things done.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 -- The Moon is in Leo from the previous Saturday, till Monday afternoon. Your creative energies are high Sunday; the Moon trines the Sun and opposes Jupiter. Leos are never more alive than when either striving hard in games, or expressing their talents in entertaining others. Try to schedule something along those lines for that day. Happy accidents may befall Leo natives Sunday night, when the Leo moon is inconjunct Uranus, the planet of insights and windfalls. On Monday morning you may be walking in a dream, so look alive when commuting, OK? The Sun in Sag trines Mars in your sign on Thursday evening; this favors sports, games and any physically demanding activities.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 2:05 pm Monday till Wednesday afternoon. Your passion for detail may uncover some productive stats on Monday evening when The Moon in Virgo trines the Mercury-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. You try not to unbalance your life by taking work home, but this is one time that some concentrated effort may pay off for you. Wednesday may put your nose out of joint due to broken appts., etc, but try not to ruffle your feathers. Thursday is another good day for research or audits, etc., when your powers of analysis are keen.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 5:47 pm Wednesday till Friday night. Wednesday night may find you in a rare, dour mood as the Moon conjuncts Saturn and squares Pluto. You wish you had more control over your life, and feel frustrated over recent setbacks. (Believe me, I feel that way, too.) You will have to work hard to get rid of what is sometimes called that “stinkin thinkin.” Get your head on straight, press your shirts, freshen your lipstick and face the world again with your million-watt smile. Your luck turns upward early Friday if you ask friends, relatives and neighbors to keep an eye peeled for that something you seek. Your enjoyment and creativity are at a peak mid-morning thru the afternoon.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – On Monday, Mercury is conjunct Pluto in Capricorn and later squares Saturn; is aspect is reiterated on Thursday. Scorpios will likely benefit from this aspect as they are natural detectives, anyway. You could be asked to consult for a club or civic group you belong to. Jupiter's conjunction to Chiron in New-Age Aquarius is not in your health house, but will likely affect you personally anyway due to the square. Consult a holistic practitioner for sensible advice. The Moon is in Scorpio from 11:31 pm Friday thru the weekend. Your research talents may be extra-keen, and in demand this Saturday. Have your business cards ready to hand out plus a teaser to bring the client back for more.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon-Mars conjunction in Leo on Sunday is right up your fire-sign alley. You could negotiate resolutions to tough, drawn-out legal cases or other ninth-house issues. And you will certainly enjoy getting together with sports-fan friends to watch the games at your house or sports venue. You might offer some alternative games for the younger folk (and non-fans) in the back yard. I just thought that this Saturn in Libra transit, in your solar house of siblings/cousins and neighbors, might have you chafing at none-too-subtle suggestions from them about what you should do or not do. I understand completely how you feel, but I think it may be payback for all the times that you flippantly told others what YOU thought they ought to do. Think about it.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Mercury is conjunct Pluto in Capricorn early Monday; your powers of analysis or scientific deduction will be keen. Any research, testing, analysis or audits will yield some profitable nuggets. It may be useful to go back over past records to try to see helpful patterns or indicators for you. Thursday may also be productive for you, when a Moon-Saturn conjunction squares Mercury in your sign. In other news, I think you are not too comfortable with the changes in the landscape lately, and by that I mean not only in the physical world but in the 'way things are.' You like having predictable outcomes to all events, even in sports games, and it disturbs you when there are upsets. Well, a new world is coming no matter how inconvenient it is to anyone, and we will all just have to make the needed mental adjustments.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – All the fire-sign energy is perfectly compatible with you, Aquarius, since fire needs air to send out a bright, warming flame. I see you helping direct that energy, tho, to where it needs to express itself. Maybe you pass along a query from someone trying to find entertainment for their holiday parties, or a business card to someone needing a Yule log. You're good that way. Aquarians can be very ingenious at rigging up timers and electronic or mechanical decorations. While the Moon is in Libra this week (Wed.-Fri.) you might be working very industriously on such a project. Just remember to work safely.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 -- Ah, yes, Pisces is often the one who remembers the little touches that make the holidays memorable. The little candle-powered angel carousel, the wine to go with the feasts, the family-favorite ornaments on the tree. Not to mention the family-favorite recipes for cookie-making time. They are often the ones who indulge the younger members of the family by taking them ice skating, caroling, or who tag along where their friends want to go. The middle of the week finds you tagging along with your significant other, improvising plans as you go. As far as you're concerned, it's all good.

A few notes on Sports Astrology, Nov. 2009

by Milky Way Maid

I have mentioned I have been working more intensively on my sports astrology skills. It is not the first time I have made charts for individual games, but it is the first time I tried making charts for ALL the football games on a given weekend. It has been a challenge and a real learning experience (in a good way).

One of the interesting things that I noticed is that when Mars entered Leo about mid-October, it affected the play of the teams with Leo birth dates. In general, they started playing much more competitively. In some cases, a team settled on its starting quarterback and began winning more games than they lost. Some of the Leo teams started to perk up earlier than others, and that generally correlates with how early or late their Sun is actually placed in the sign Leo.

Don't assume that these teams will win everything from here on out. For one thing, the chart of the game will have many other clues about the outcome of the game. For another thing, Mars will go retrograde in mid-december and could take back any gains in the league standings.

The teams with Leo suns, as taken from the dates of the franchise being awarded or announced, are: New York Jets and New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Tennessee Titans, and Denver Broncos.

The teams with Leo ascendants are Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and appropriately enough, the Detroit Lions.

Wintry skies produce “rainbow smiles” or upside-down rainbows

by Milky Way Maid

SPACEWEATHER.COM has a beautiful picture of an upside-down rainbow. To quote: “The technical name for this phenomenon is circumzenithal arc or "CZA" for short--and it's no rainbow. CZAs are formed by sunlight shining through plate-shaped ice crystals in high clouds.”

These ice rainbows are more common in fall/early winter when the sun is low -- so keep an eye peeled for them. The photo was taken recently in Alabama. Consider it a smile in the sky just to brighten your day.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Nov. 29-Dec. 5, 2009

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury squares Uranus on Monday afternoon. This aspect does not favor buying mechanical or electronic items. You may become fascinated by some product, but wait and check things out, research it online, then if you still want to buy, then do it under a trine or sextile between these planets. Trust me on this. Don't buy on Mercury square Saturn on Dec. 7; the item will probably die. But do try to get an item before Mercury goes retrograde Dec. 26.

Look out folks, Uranus makes it direct station 3:27 pm Tuesday at 22 degrees, 42 minutes of Pisces. This might jolt your mental and psychical faculties, or knock you out of a rut. Some of you may even have ESP events. You suddenly start to sing, “I Gotta Be Me” and look for new people and places to see. Uranus receives a square to the Moon on Wednesday, so you might feel rather odd at first. But Uranus trines the Moon Friday night so by then you may be more accepting of your unique qualities. As well you should. The Mercury-Uranus contact could also mean meeting foreigners as house guests or performers. Encourage your children to meet people who are different from themselves.

Venus enters optimistic Sag 5:04 pm Tuesday. Venus in Sag values personal freedom inside (or from) relationships. Venus here would benefit from allowing each other freedom in some areas if you have a strong trust in each other. This is easier if you two have arrived at mutual goals and how you will progress toward realizing those goals.

Mercury enters Capricorn midday Saturday. This is not the best home for Mercury but at least it is out of a sign of its detriment, Sagittarius. Mercury in Capricorn is methodical, and will soon sextile Saturn in Libra, which increases the practical, studious turn of this Mercury. Mercury here is a good teacher and professor, too. The downside is that Capricorn tries to make itself an authority on something by mastering a subject, when it might be more productive to foster sharing of data so all may advance and improve. You don't have to have the last word on everything, Cappy.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Venus enters Sag, your solar ninth house on Tuesday. You may decide to travel to a foreign country for the holidays, possibly due to a romantic interest in a native of that land. Alternatively, a holiday event at a local college may attract you, perhaps one of those madrigal dinners with performances of medieval songs and music. Those events are tremendous, just check the web for articles about them, and take your camera for lots of photos. Aries, I know you have been crabby and impatient lately. Saturn in Libra is opposing your Sun, and gosh you just hate to run into obstacles. You try to run around them or over or even under them, but this Saturn, boy, just won't let you. Well, sad to say this Saturn will ease up briefly but then is here to stay for a couple years. Your lesson is to learn to take turns. That's all. Simple, hunh?

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 5:34 am Sunday till Tuesday morn. The Moon trines Pluto Sunday morning and you probably want to spend it the way YOU want, not by waiting on other people. An inconjunct to Saturn in Libra follows shortly, so you may have to adjust to others' schedules somewhat, and make some kind of compromise. Monday has all these squares to Mars in fixed Leo and Jupiter in fixed Aquarius, so it is best to make up your mind to tackle what has to be done. A sextile to Uranus that evening helps you get a laugh.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 9:23 am Tuesday till midday Thursday. The Moon trines Saturn in Libra on Tuesday morn, helping you put your shoulder to the grindstone. Saturn in Libra also will help you to bring everyone into the process so that all are recognized and treated fairly. Saturn is exalted here, and why? Because once Libra gets past clinging to social ideals (following Emily Post or Leticia Baldridge), then Libra figures out how to create truly harmonious relationships. Gemini can facilitate these social interactions. Anyway, a Full Moon occurs in Gemini at ten degrees 15 minutes Gemini on Wed., at 2:30 am. A Moon-Jupiter trine later that day is wonderfully optimistic and buoyant. You enjoy mixing people together at your holiday parties who should meet each other. Hmmm, you might be quite a matchmaker this holiday season.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer from 11 am Thursday till midday Saturday. A Moon-Pluto opposition Thursday afternoon may make you feel like your spouse/partner is far too controlling. Well, maybe he just wants to be involved and show he cares. Give him a job to do, a role to fulfill. A Moon-Saturn square frustrates you later that day, and you hate, just hate being told 'no', or even 'later.' I'm sorry, this is one of your lessons while Saturn is in Libra, and you will have to take your turn. Friday is a bit better with an inconjunct to Jupiter and a late trine to Uranus. Perhaps you can swap hours with a co-worker, or negotiate using the spouse's credit card. Uranus can bring a pleasant surprise or just a slew of laughs.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from 12:07 am Saturday thru the weekend. A Moon-Saturn sextile on Saturday afternoon brings a pleasant duty or chore; perhaps you emcee a convention or 'referee' a children's party. The evening has a trine to Venus in Sag, which again, hints you may spend quality time with youngsters or possibly at an arts performance. Those holiday shows are always so charming, and it's a tradition we rarely tire of. Venus is in your solar fifth house for a stay thru Christmas. You will probably enjoy not only children but a moment in the spotlight as holiday concerts and plays fill our calendars. You should be quite a busy and popular show-business Leo this year. I know you will bask in the compliments.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Venus enters your solar fourth house for a stay thru Christmas. Of course everyone's home is the focus of the holidays, but your home will have an extra dose of seasonal beauty. I think you will bend and toss around a lot more red and green decorations this year, in a very tasteful way. Venus in Sag also suggests you may host an international visitor, perhaps a musician or artist. Mercury enters your solar fifth house of children and creativity and the arts. You may dash around a lot more this year from one concert to another, perhaps chaperoning schoolchildren on holiday outings. You may help children or grandchildren to create their own greeting cards or e-cards. Or you may help them write original Christmas stories to share with the rest of the family on Christmas eve.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Venus enters Sagittarius in your solar third house on Tuesday. Venus here helps you create your own beautiful Christmas cards and newsletters. You send and receive the most sincere wishes of the season to all you know. You receive thanks and compliments from many who have appreciated your special touch over the years. Mercury enters your solar fourth house which may just mean lots of cards and packages arrive at your home, and lots of short visits from friends and relatives. You might also play host to a student from a Capricorn country such as Spain or the Arabic nations.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Venus enters your solar second house on Tuesday, which is a very nice place to have it this holiday season. You could profit with a few small gifts or favors, or get invited to a few more parties than last year. Very nice. Mercury enters Capricorn, your solar third house where it is much at home. Your thoughts are more organized, and with some effort you may be able to accomplish more of your 'to-do' list each day. Maybe some people don't know this but Scorpio is also a deeply religious or spiritual sign. The holidays are a deeply meaningful time for you and you try to either attend a religious service or volunteer for a charity or fundraiser.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – You might not be thinking straight on Monday, when Mercury in Sag squares Uranus in Pisces. Some idea might appeal to you due to its novelty or maybe because it's funny, and brainstorming may bring a slew of possibilities. But do some rational evaluation on another date. Venus enters your sun sign on Tuesday. Venus in Sag values personal freedom inside (or from) relationships. Venus here would benefit from allowing each other freedom in some areas if you have a strong trust in each other. This is easier if you two have arrived at mutual goals and how you will progress toward realizing those goals.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - Mercury enters Capricorn midday Saturday. In other news, even though Saturn has entered Libra, squaring your sign, you are much more comfortable with Saturn energies than the other cardinal signs. You just put your shoulder closer to the wheel, is all.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – You don't always cotton to religious ideas, but a Sunday sermon (Mercury sextile Jupiter) may hit on an idea that is meaningful to you. Share that with others. Venus enters your solar eleventh house (Sagittarius) where you may make or catch up with friends at club meetings or Christmas parties. You could even take over recording the minutes of those meetings for a while. Venus could bring an offer of chairmanship or other officer position, even if it is only ceremonial. Aquarius, you are going to be the rock this Christmas. Others are falling apart and getting frustrated, and you are going to maybe do some hand-holding and tell them things will get better, just be patient.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Someone may present an off-the-wall idea on Monday thinking you appreciate its brilliance. It might be brilliant, but unworkable at this time. File it away under pipe dream. Venus enters your solar tenth house in Sagittarius. Venus can bring a job offer, some perks or bonuses, or just the small thank-yous for a job well done. Mercury in Capricorn is sextile in your solar eleventh house, where it picks up the pace in messages, year-end newsletters to prepare, and updating the club minutes. You might explore finding a place to store the club's historical records online this winter.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Nov. 22-28, 2009

By Milky Way Maid

Sunday is when some of us may have our Thanksgiving moment; Venus is conjunct Ceres in Scorpio about midnight. Look around you at your home, neighborhood, family, the feast awaiting prepping in the refrig, etc. Even if it is less than it once was, be grateful for having anything in a world where many are days from starving to death.

A poignant Venus square Neptune reminds us of those who are not there. This may affect Scorpio and Aquarius more than other signs. To remedy that, you might consider documenting the multi-generation gathering with some group photographs or video, and share that with those who are unable to attend. It would mean a lot to everyone concerned.

PS: The Moon will be in watery Pisces on the holiday so that should help keep the bird moist, and produce lots of gravy. Those fire-sign Thanksgivings seem to produce dried-out turkeys.

Venus at 19 degrees Scorpio is square Jupiter in Aquarius on Monday afternoon (5:02 pm). The two benefics do not often quarrel but when they do it is very annoying for us humans who depend on their good graces. Actually we are being forced to align our desire for material things and our urge to do good for the greater humanity. If you can do that, you not only have it made but you might be a saint.

Venus at 22 degrees Scorpio trines Uranus in Pisces on Wednesday evening. You may attract some very unusual or even eccentric friends at this time. You enjoy being with people who are somehow different, and are not possessive in these friendships. Artists may experiment with unique styles or unusual media.

Mercury at 16 degrees Sag trines Mars in Leo on Thursday morning. You may be better able to focus on achieving your desires, using your mental skills like logic, reasoning, or number-crunching. Also sports fans could see some great plays and great teamwork. Mars especially in Leo will dig in and play hard, while the aspect to Mercury enhances the accuracy of handoffs, passes, and play-calling.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Even if you have less than you once did, I hope that you can all be thankful for what you do have. Reach out to others to help them, even in small ways, I should say especially in small ways. Having a single person over for Sunday dinners, for example, will help them in so many ways, and you will enrich your life.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 10:11 pm Thursday through the weekend. The holiday weekend may feel frustrating to you; you really would like to have more control over your life but face it, so would we all. Friday morning's opposition between Moon in Aries and Saturn in Libra can make you feel acutely frustrated, cramped, restricted. Work off some frustration in exercise and then enjoy an evening with fire-sign friends under a Moon-Sun trine. Watch some ball games or have a cookout. Saturday has lots of sextiles to help you get something done, also a trine to Mercury (10:27 am) can help you reach people you want/need to talk to.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Working in partnership can help you achieve something in the career world; that's what I see the Venus-Jupiter square doing for you. On Wednesday your partner may meet one of your friends and think he/she is pretty strange. But a romance may blossom nevertheless, so be careful if your partner is more than just a business partner and you want to keep it that way. You friends may seem strange even to you on Thursday under a Moon-Uranus conjunction in Pisces, in your solar eleventh house. Oh well, everyone is welcome at the Thanksgiving table, and there IS enough pie for them all, isn't there?

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Gemini is one of the signs that benefits most, and most easily, from the entrance of Saturn into Libra. You have always been adept at many things, and are a natural at multi-tasking. Now Saturn gently takes you by the sleeve and asks you to map out a three-year plan for yourself. You have been too inclined to think only about the near future, but by looking at what you think might be doable over the long term, you can make a lot more progress than you ever thought was within your reach. Best days are Sunday with a Moon trine Saturn, Tuesday with its Sun-Saturn sextile, Thursday with ruler Mercury trine Mars, and Friday with its compatible Sun-Moon trine.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – On Wednesday you may really enjoy a water-sign trine; Venus tines Uranus in Pisces for a lot of laughs and love as the women share prep duties or take a break from them. The holiday occurs under a compatible Moon in Pisces, so your guests are glad to gather at your home for tradition and for a bit of spiritual renewal. Friday it's OK to just rest, but Saturday has a lot of cardinal Aries energy, and several sextiles to help you get things done.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – We have felt your courageous Mars in Leo this month, as you dug in to fight for the good fight. Thanks. Not everyone will be so grateful, such as on Monday morning when maybe you insist on not yielding a lane when the moment calls for some accommodation. Share, Leo, share. That's what this week is all about. Friday should be quite productive as Moon trine Saturn energy helps you get chores done. Then it is off to a fire-sign gathering that evening under a Sun-Moon trine. Watch the ball games, or play some touch football, or host a cookout. It's all good.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – You are adaptable this holiday week. The Moon is in compatible mutable Pisces so you may be asked to pitch in with some of your knockout veggie dishes or home-made bread. Ruler Mercury is trine Mars in Leo on Thursday, when you may have to think on your feet. Good Mercury aspects this week are on Sunday evening and Saturday morn. You are not especially comfortable this week, maybe because the Moon is not in the most compatible signs or maybe because you are not really keen about excess. But you set a healthy table and give thanks for a healthy family.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Sunday may be your best day this week when the Moon trines Saturn in Libra. You put a good face on the reality (Saturn) of today, and can realistically plan for the long term. The Moon in Pisces this holiday week gives you a chance to be more creative or to adapt to your current situation. Perhaps you have a recipe for 2, or for 45, which you have to scale up or down as needed. Or you have to turn a table to accommodate guests that day. Whatever, get a helping hand for the heavy stuff.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Monday brings an opportunity to effect a win-win result from the Venus square to Jupiter. (see note at top of column) You might give yourself an incentive of promising to donate X percent to a local food bank if you make X amount on a sales call, for example. Or you might share your good fortune in some way; keep the good karma going, you know. Wednesday should prove interesting as you might meet some eccentric people under the Venus-Uranus trine. You might also find love or money by using the computer (Uranus).

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Sun in Sag sextiles Saturn in Libra mid-morning Tuesday. If you have not set some personal goals for the month, you should really sit down and do that; Saturn will help you stick to a plan long enough to see it accomplished. Also you may find yourself instilling order in your workplace or home. Enlist a friend if needed to clear out a room for a home office. Friday should be productive for you, when the Sun and Saturn help you have energy and discipline to finish jobs. You might also get all your fire-sign friends together for fun that evening.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Capricorn enjoys the sensual experience of this year's holiday gathering. Moon in Pisces will accent the aroma of the spices and pie, and also the general warm-fuzzy feeling of the day. Perhaps you can document the multi-generation gathering with some group photographs or video, and share that with those who are unable to attend. It would mean a lot to everyone concerned. Friday can be very productive as Saturn is sextile, and Moon is nudging you with a square. Your cardinal energy kicks in on Saturday when the Moon in Aries receives lots of help in getting tasks done. Got to work off some of that gravy, you know.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from Sunday till midday Tuesday. The Moon trines Saturn in Libra early Sunday, giving you the discipline to stick to your agenda for the day and get your projects done. Then the Moon sextiles Mercury that evening, which favors conversation, wordplay, word games, or composition of meaningful papers. The Moon opposes Mars early Monday, which is NOT a sign to get into any 'playing chicken' games on your morning commute. Maybe you can burn off some competitive energy in an early workout or just by setting a personal goal for the day or week. It is OK to just watch a movie Monday night, because the Moon conjunct Neptune needs a fantasy or dream.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 11:07 am Tuesday till Thursday evening. Tuesday afternoon looks very serious with you dealing with issues of control (Pluto) and responsibility (Saturn). If you want to have the say-so over your schedule, then you have to assume the responsibility to get your assignments done. Maybe you can organize your time better on your own than if you had to follow the office schedule (or whoever's), but I think you will have to prove it before you get this freedom to tele-commute or whatever your objective is.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Nov. 15-21, 2009

By Milky Way Maid

Natives of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) may feel the tensions of a T-square even tho it is not exact. A stellium of Sun, Mercury, Moon, Venus in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo and Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius. The Moon square Mars, and Sun square Neptune are exact on Sunday night. The first can have you burning up energy in wasted effort, and the second can bring self-delusion or intoxication. You might be able to channel the energy of this transit with a deliberate effort in support of positive Jupiter-Neptune memes like religious dedication, meditation, community involvement, music, and healing. Even your personal film festival would fit. Neptune is also water, so you may find it beneficial to take various water treatments including sauna, whirlpool, or even a bubble bath. Visiting a water park might do it for you, too, or watching fish in your aquarium.

Mercury enters Sag on Sunday night, and Sun enters Sag on Saturday night. It's an all-Sag week when the Moon also dallies in the same sign Tues-Thurs. Adaptability becomes a key word, so try to figure out how you can incorporate changing markets to your own situation.

Mercury is sextile Saturn in Libra midnight Monday. This is a good time to not only organize a department or a closet, but to learn to master a subject. You might enroll in a class, or get informal instruction from a friend.

Venus in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo early Thursday. Fixed signs may feel like the adage, “you can't live with 'em, and you can't live without 'em” is SO true! A love-hate relationship gives you cause for second thoughts. But realize that we all have our foibles and flaws, and try to tally your own such traits.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Your natal planets plus the Moon in Sag and Mars in Leo start a bright 'fire sign' for all your friends to gather around. You are likely to gather at a sporting event or fun “casino night”. The Venus square Mars aspect midweek gives a real boost to your energy level. Mars in your solar fifth house will get you started on creative projects. Mars may even get you some playing time in local sports. PS -- I bet you are already planning a big, spectacular holiday display, possibly with some help from a techie friend.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The beginning of the week may put you on edge, and the pressure you feel could be coming from yourself, not from others. Giving yourself timeouts to read or take a walk can help, also playing music (I don't mean playing taped music, I mean playing an instrument yourself.) Groups may be contentious or competitive, but you can change the dynamic there. Break the ice, offer cookies, freely share your own tips for handling tricky issues, etc. Gradually the atmosphere will change.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Twins get a boost this month from Sun and Mercury moving into opposing Sag. You benefit from tossing ideas back and forth with a spouse or other sounding board. Tuesday's Mercury in Sag sextile Saturn in Libra helps you master a new course of study; perhaps you find a private instructor. Your studies may be in a creative arts or just in creative use of technical applications.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Venus in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo, affecting your solar fifth and second houses. You may spend too much on art supplies or on recreation, but geez, the soul needs its food, too, just as much as the body does. Well, maybe you can sell some of your holiday treats that use your secret family recipe. On Friday, the Moon in Capricorn sextiles Venus in Scorpio; perhaps your spouse can help you create your own supply of canvases or other surfaces to paint on.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – We love you Leo, but sometimes you act like your opinion is the only one that counts. And this Mars in Leo is terribly brave and strong, but also headstrong, stubborn and opinionated. Apply some of your Leo generosity towards giving others the space to feel that their opinion is valued, too. Share the spotlight. Boost the spirits of those who have lost heart; lend them some of your courage.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Virgo also feels energized by the entry of Sun and Mercury into Sag. Questions arise that prod you to find the answers. Also because they enter your solar fourth house, they refocus energy on home and family. You may want to prep your home for the coming holiday season with paint or just a deep cleaning. Your spouse spends more time at home, as does a child or a child's friends. Refrain from saying things you may regret midweek; that Venus square Mars affects your solar third house (communications, siblings) and self-undoing. Biting your tongue is a good skill to have.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Your transiting Saturn is sextiled by Mercury in Sag Tuesday. You may be called on to arbitrate matters involving siblings or neighbors (if you do try to meet with them, Thurs. afternoon is not best; Sat. night is much better). Others may ask you for advice on rules of etiquette relating to announcements or business communications. You may prefer to go to the movies on Saturday; since the Moon trines Saturn in your sign from your solar fifth house; I think you might enjoy a classic or something from the Criterion Collection.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from Sunday till early Tuesday. Avoid intoxication on Sunday night, due to the Sun-Neptune square; chemicals may hit you harder than normal. See notes above about the T-square. The Moon squares Neptune midday Monday, and could have you wallowing in self-pity; take your mind off personal stuff with movies, friends, etc. The New Moon that p.m. gives you a fresh start with a chance to identify where you might find fresh insights (Uranus). This NM also reinforces the spiritual side of Scorpio; you may feel called to give service in some way. Venus in your sign squares Mars in Leo Wed-Thurs, creating bickering, or mixed feelings of love-hate for the other person in your life.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 12:22 am Tuesday till Thursday morn. You are very mentally active on Tuesday (Moon conjunct Mercury and sextile Saturn), with the ability to focus on science, research, reports, etc. You are more physically active on Wednesday morn due to the Moon trine Mars. A square to Uranus that evening may affect your online surfing. Maybe you can just go into offline mode and enjoy a bubble bath (Moon sextile Neptune).

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 10 am Thursday till Saturday night. Thursday afternoon is very heavy-duty with Moon conjunct Pluto and square Saturn. You may be very determined to tackle an obstacle, or to regain control of a situation or relationship. Unfortunately you might be very willing to terminate relationships, too, if you believe they are not working out. Is there still some good worth salvaging? Counseling can help even tough situations, so give that a chance. Friday evening favors treating the wounds in a love relationship.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon enters Aquarius at 10:11 pm Saturday; a trine to Saturn follows in the wee hours of Sunday. You may find yourself staying up late to clean house or finish reports for work. You will be very goal-oriented this weekend instead of vegging out watching all the ball games. Saturn's move into Libra this fall may have you going back to school or seminars to sharpen your work skills. You may even begin teaching, and I bet you'd be good at it.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Sun and Mercury enter Sag, squaring your own sign. This can bring more communication and demands from bosses at work, and you may also give talks or chair meetings in your department. The fact that the Moon is near the Sun may mean you represent the company in public in some way, perhaps at a local charitable event. A child in college may need a health matter tended to Venus in your solar ninth house squared by Mars in your solar sixth), so make sure your child has student coverage.

Watching the Planetary Hour-Wheels Go By

by Milky Way Maid
Recently I started noticing the planetary hours as they go by each day, well, most days.
MERCURY: I notice that generally, I can write a little quicker during a Mercury hour. It is best to START your writing project during this hour. I have not however, tried to track whether emails sent during a Mercury hour are more likely to get answered sooner.
MOON: During a moon hour, I am more likely to get hungry for a lunch or dinner, or to need a break from the computer. Sometimes I even feel like a nap. Step away from your work and just watch the clouds or aquarium or take a walk. Or go get a hug.
SATURN: This is very odd but I notice that I suddenly have the urge to straighten up papers or clean something. Weird, hey? You can stick with a project till it is done. You are willing to put some elbow grease into a job (generally a physical task). Time to get physical and accomplish something, then give yourself some points for doing so.
MARS: Feel like moving around, taking a walk, stretching those arms and legs. Seems to be best for doing your exercise routine, or for sports activities.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Nov. 8-14, 2009

By Milky Way Maid

The Full Moon tonight Nov. 2 is called a Frosty Moon; it is often so bright that you can see the eerie effect of the moonlight on the frosted lawns or fields below. There may even be enough light to see a rainbow after dark; go to http://SpaceWeather.com to see a beautiful photo of one taken in Yorkshire, England.

Venus entered Scorpio late on Saturday. Venus here can be obsessive or controlling; the upside is that she insists on commitment in a relationship. But she's a wonderful girl, fascinating, magnetic and complex. This week she gets a nod with a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn Sunday night, then a square to Mars in Leo on Nov. 19. I am thinking that a very nice relationship could be sparked early this month, which could heat up into something pretty sexy around mid-month. The square to Mars could mean a fight, but making up with Venus here is so much fun.

The fixed signs (Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius and Taurus) should really watch their health because a T-square forms Monday between the Moon, Sun and Jupiter, with Mars close enough to meddle. Yes, there may be great opportunities for you also, but you won't be able to take advantage of them if you have run your body down. You are also likely to meet situations that humble your ego (Sun) (also Moon in Leo).

Mercury in Scorpio trines Uranus in Pisces at 6:38 am Wednesday. This is a great time to buy anything mechanical or electronic, like a car, computer, or smart phone. Mercury and Uranus are also well-known for their comic timing so you might want to tune in to the drive-time radio for a good laugh.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – A Moon square Mercury on Monday afternoon can garble messages relating to your children so confirm sleepovers, etc. Your spouse may need a bit of cheering up on Thursday night when the Moon is conjunct Saturn in Libra; try to notice if she is quieter than normal or low in energy, hunh? The Moon is in fellow fire-sign Leo this week Sun.-Tues., when you will feel very comfortable with that energy. You may take charge of the kids on those days, driving them to sports practice or chaperoning outings. Your spouse will appreciate the favor, believe me.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – A Moon square Mercury on Monday afternoon can garble messages between you, spouse and family members so make sure who picks up whom where. On Tuesday (midday), you may be able to grab the reins in a life situation that has been bugging you. You may sit up late talking or trading jokes with your spouse on Wednesday. The Sun in Scorpio square Jupiter that afternoon can also favor your efforts to get an interview or make a presentation at work. Do guard your health this week, tho, and make special efforts to eat light and deal with stress.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Libra, your solar house of fun and creativity, Fri-Sat. (It enters on Thurs. but is conjunct Saturn so unless you want to do housework or mope, forget it.) Friday has a nice aspect affect the fifth house and third house (Moon sextile Mars) which is really fun for watching or playing sports. That night you really get into conversations or books about ideas and futuristic plans. Plans for Saturday morning may get rearranged, tho, so have a Plan B. You might decide to go for a swim or take your camera to get pictures of the magnificent fall landscape.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Venus enters your solar fifth house of children and creativity, so by all means explore every meaning of the fifth house. You might enjoy supervising the kids' art projects, or taking a class yourself; attending a play or exhibit may be deeply affirming or inspiring. Times that are especially activated for related activities are: Sunday morning, midday Monday and afternoon, Wednesday morn and evening, and Saturday afternoon-evening.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - The Moon is in Leo from 5:23 am Sunday till Tuesday morn. The Moon squares Venus early Sunday which means you really should voice your opinion (nicely) and not be overly concerned about whether others will like you for it. Eat a lightly Sun-Mon because a T-square between Moon, Sun and Jupiter Monday can really challenge your health. On Friday, a sextile from Moon in Libra to your Mars denotes a fun time playing games with friends.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 8:30 am Tuesday till midday Thursday. Transiting Moon trines Pluto Tuesday morn; you will try to gain control over some aspect of your life or resent it terribly. A sextile to Venus in the afternoon makes for a pleasant late lunch with a friend or a successful sales presentation. A Moon sextile the Sun on Wednesday afternoon presents a chance to make a personal presentation or application; in-person will be favored over sending emails. A sextile to Mercury in the wee hours Thursday gives you a chance to tackle emails early.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 12:22 pm Thursday till Saturday afternoon. A Moon-Saturn conjunction Thursday afternoon can put you in a somber mood but it's good for tackling those unglamorous chores on your list. On Friday evening, volunteer to babysit children, or attend a play; a Moon-Jupiter aspect will expand your views and touch your heart. A Neptune aspect on Saturday morning continues the accent on your solar fifth house of children, arts and creativity. So keep the grandkids over and supervise their art project.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Take a hint from my notes above on the T-square forming early in the week; watch your health and eat lightly. Sun in Scorpio squares Jupiter exactly on Tuesday afternoon; this can be a very lucky time if you are prepared to seize an opportunity. (Tip: set up a Google watch for your keyword.) The Moon is in Scorpio from 5:24 pm Saturday till the following Sunday evening. Give your partner a choice about something for the same favor in return. A Sun-Uranus trine that night says you will probably greatly enjoy a comedy or foreign film.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon in Virgo Tuesday-Thursday gives you a chance to adjust and go with the flow. A Mercury-Uranus trine affecting your solar fourth house of home can mean finding a mechanic or repairman who can finally fix something right; you may have to take it in to the shop, tho. The Moon-Saturn conjunction on Thursday afternoon may mean your friends need some cheering up, a job you are all too happy to do.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon in Virgo this week from Tuesday morn till Thursday may be be the most comfortable days for you. You always prize Virgo's attention to detail and hard work, and you might show your appreciation in some small way. Tuesday afternoon has a swell aspect for sharing time with friends and fellow alumnae (Moon sextile Venus in your solar eleventh and ninth houses). This is followed by a Moon sextile Sun in the same houses so might be able to follow up with a long-lost frat buddy.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Sun squares Jupiter in your sign on Tuesday afternoon, which can be the best opportunity in along while for you. Be aware however of the T-square in fixed signs (see notes at top of column) and take care of your health. Mercury squares Neptune in your sign on Wednesday night, and can play havoc with your emails and other messages. Follow up with a call or email if you have not heard back inre your inquiries.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – You may have lunch with a key friend on Tuesday with the idea of asking a favor from him or her, but phrase things carefully. The Moon opposes Uranus in your sign late Wednesday; you may not be receptive at all to a suggestion or a change, but think it over because it might not be a bad idea. Your plans for the weekend may have to be altered early Saturday, so try not to be too upset. Remember, you did once ask that your life not be too dull and predictable.
