Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 14-20, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers:
I have already posted the Valentine's issue for 2010, so please browse my column for that. And have a lovely, warm special day with your Significant Other.
On Sunday, the Sun is conjunct Neptune in Aquarius while the Moon is conjunct Jupiter in Pisces. From my Valentine column:

This year, Valentine's Day features a very romantic Moon-Venus conjunction in dreamy Pisces, with Jupiter very close by. The Moon-Venus conjunction is exact at 2:56 pm central time, according to my software. Jupiter tempts all of you to spend a great deal more than you can really afford, so be cautious in planning this event. Really, cheese and a bottle of wine on a living-room picnic blanket is just as romantic as a very expensive splurge at a four-star restaurant. Find some romantic film on DVD and you are all set.

The Moon-Venus conjunction is inconjunct Mars in Leo on one side, and Saturn in Libra on the other side. This forms a Yod. Those who are unattached may walk out somewhere and meet someone who is just fated to meet them. Don't fight it, love can happen in one glance, at first sight, and last till the day you die. It does happen like that sometimes. Mars is sexy, and Saturn is well, restrained. The inconjuncts mean that one has to control feelings of jealousy and anger, refrain from critical comments, deal with emotional insecurity and tight budgets, deal with the seesaw of love-hate emotions, and most of all balance their ambitions with their human need to connect with a genuine human being. Be very tender and gentle with each other this day if you are to navigate all the shoals in this emotional sea.

The Sun is conjunct wishful Neptune at 26 degrees Aquarius that day. This is one reason I suggest the movie night. Neptune is wishing and hoping that all the bad news would just go away, and I guess for one night you can just push the headlines out of sight. But PLEASE do not load up the credit card with charges just for this one occasion because you cannot count on the economy improving in the immediate future.

Most directly affected by the Yod are the signs Pisces, Leo and Libra. Those with Scorpio ascendants will have the point of the Yod in their romantic fifth house. Those with Virgo ascendants will have the point of the Yod in their seventh house of partners. But anyone with any of those signs on their ascendant, midheaven, or fifth or seventh houses will likely feel the fated effect of this Yod. And I am not saying that it will necessarily be a fun or be an obviously romantic first meeting, a' la Hollywood films. You will have to overcome a lot of emotional obstacles in order to connect on the soul level, but it will be worth it.

Venus in Pisces is quite active this week. On Monday about 2 am she is sextile Pluto in Capricorn at 4 degrees. About mid-morning, her partner Mars at 3 degrees Leo (retrograde) is sextile Saturn in Libra. I am thinking this might be a day when many of us think seriously about doing a makeover (Pluto), both in the more superficial matters like getting a new hairdo or having a skin treatment (Venus), and also in the area of changing our health and exercise (Mars) regimen (Saturn) in order to regain fitness and muscle (Mars). People with natal planets at 3 and 4 degrees will see effects more than the rest of us, especially if it falls on your ascendant. For instance, in my own case, Venus will be trine and Mars will be square my ascendant, so I will let you know what transpires.

On Tuesday, Venus at 6 degrees Pisces is conjunct the larger benefic Jupiter at 9:14 pm. One thing I can tell you from experience with Venus-Jupiter contacts (conjunction or trine) is that it is EXTREMELY easy to over-indulge (Jupiter) in sweets, since Venus rules sugar -- to the point of getting sick. So Jupiter is not always a good thing. BUT I can also say that if you observe Valentine's Day a bit late, that this can be a great time to spring a really big gift on someone. Travel or experiencing beauty and culture may also be on your agenda today. A few of you may even propose or marry on this day, and most likely the wedding and marriage will go splendidly.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 7:30 pm Tuesday till Friday morn. The Moon is trine Mars and opposite Saturn early Wednesday; I see you putting a lot of energy into achieving a goal or racking up points. You might take advantage of this energy in a sales competition at work, or in a friendly game with buddies. The evening is more verbal with a Moon sextile to Mercury at dinnertime; you enjoy a good tete a tete with visiting friends. The Moon sextiles Neptune late Thursday, which can make you wishful and prone to self-pity. This is not like Aries at all, so while you may have a drink or two or commiserate with a pal, you are more likely to push yourself out the door and go for a two-mile run to sublimate your frustrations.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 5:55 am Friday and stays almost through the weekend. A sextile to the Sun in Pisces kicks off your Friday, giving you a good mood and positive interactions. A square to Mars in your solar fourth house brings a demand/request for a favor from a family member; oh just do it and earn some points to be claimed later. Midday has an inconjunct to Saturn, when you wonder if the supervisor really knows how to do the job. The evening's Moon-Jupiter trine is a boon for a celebratory dinner and recreation with friends or mates. Saturday is marked by a Moon-Mercury square at midday, so verify details in all verbal exchanges and make sure you are on the same page with others.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – All that Pisces energy on Sunday may be wasted in your solar tenth house of career, unless you plan on being a professional romantic. But hey, that does suggest you can be a successful writer of romance novels or advice, since there is a bottomless demand for those commodities. You could even ghost-write love notes for a friend, a la Cyrano de Bergerac. The sextile to Mars in Leo, plus the trine to Saturn in Libra suggest you might do rather well at the advice or etiquette biz.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon in water-sign Pisces on Valentine's Day is very compatible to your energies, although since it is in your solar ninth house, the object of your affections may be miles away or in college. The good news is that you may be joining that someone since funds may be awarded for your own education, especially if you have natal planets at 6 degrees. The emphasis is on friends when the Moon is in Taurus Friday thru the weekend.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Leos enjoy the Moon in compatible Aries from Tuesday-Wednesday. A Moon-Mars trine affects you directly early Wednesday; your energies will be high whether watching a college ball game or energetically debating colleagues. On Wednesday morning, aspects help you harness your emotions to defeat unhealthy habits and get on a better health regimen. Good luck to you in your quest for better health.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The huge stellium in your opposite sign Pisces at week's start can be overwhelming, but your significant other will seem like not only the love of your life, but best friend and source of all the good in your life (well, everything that really matters, anyway). The only downside is that Pisces can overdo everything and get carried away with spending and totally blow the budget. This is where you step in and suggest some quiet, less costly option like, oh, the picnic in the living room, or the corsage and dinner out at the place you first dated. The Moon trines your natal planets when in compatible Taurus Friday-weekend. Friday afternoon's Moon-Pluto trine gives you a chance to seize control over some part of life, even if it is only your own moods and emotions. Find a mantra or affirmation to help accomplish this.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Mars sextiles Saturn in your sign on mid-morn Monday; this is a great opportunity to begin an exercise program or just push a bit more in your current program. You will be at your most disciplined and achievement-oriented, whether in health matters or at work. The Moon opposes transiting Saturn in Libra early Wednesday; you may feel terribly constricted or imposed on, but grace under pressure is one of your finest talents. Show some class (as you always do) and avoid taking things out on anyone else.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in compatible Pisces for Valentine's Day, plus Venus and Jupiter in your solar fifth house of romance. Zowie. You never do things by halves, anyway, but this V-Day may mark a high-water mark. The Venus-Jupiter conjunction on Tuesday morn can bring a nice follow-up; are you picking out wedding rings? Friday's Moon-Mars square in Leo late morn may make you impatient for the weekend to get here. Get communications cleared up before starting on errands/trips Saturday morn, and enjoy a massage or hot soak after exercise that evening.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – All that Pisces energy (Moon-Venus-Jupiter) squares your natal planets from your solar fourth house of home and family. It is possible you wish to sink some funds into renovating or redecorating your home. You might see an addition to your family, or host an international visitor or exchange student. Your physical and emotional energies reach a high in the wee hours of Wednesday, when the Moon trines Mars in the other fire signs. However, that is followed by Moon opposite Saturn and square Pluto, affecting your second and fifth houses. You might spend way too much on your beloved, although if your purchase is a wedding ring, I can understand how that might impact your bank account.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Your solar third house is active with the Moon-Venus-Jupiter in Pisces; communications fly with lots of words of love and best wishes from everyone who loves you. The Moon enters compatible Taurus on Friday and stays thru most of the weekend. Friday is mostly harmonious except for a rush-rush Moon-Mars square in the late morn; make sure of the specs before rushing a job or missing a connection. But the evening is idyllic with the Moon sextile both Venus and Jupiter; enjoy basking in the loving rays of your beloved in a late V-Day.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The emphasis moves to your solar fourth house of home and family when the Moon enters Taurus on Friday. Watch for a mismatch between feelings and action late morning, or a rush that creates errors. Other than that, the evening is quite pleasurable with the Moon sextile Venus and Jupiter in your second house; spend a tiny bit on your family or home and it can make a huge difference. Those little tokens like a single flower or a card mean a great deal to loved ones.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 7:23 am on Valentine's Day till Tuesday night. Please see the general notes above regarding the aspects on Sunday. Tuesday morn may be stressful due to the Moon-Uranus conjunction; people may be upsetting or outright rude, but let it slide off your shoulders. Uranus is also the Christ principle, so you may decide to volunteer at a local charity, church or food bank.
