Your Milky Way Horoscope May 9-15, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury goes direct on May 11 at 6:27 pm, at 2 degrees Taurus. Ha, this happens to be almost on top of my descendant so I suppose it means relationship matters can move forward; also we will see if I start working more with the public or am in the public eye.

Other than that, there are only Moon aspects this week. Pretty quiet. Oh, yeah, a New Moon.

The New Moon is at 23 degrees 9 minutes Taurus, at 9:04 pm on Thursday, May 13. The Moon squares Mars that morning, adding conflict but also lighting a fire under you Bulls to get out of your chairs. The next aspect the Moon makes are a sextile to Jupiter at 26 degrees Pisces, and a square to Vesta in Leo. I predict that as some astrologers say, the children of Venus will not be denied.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 5:29 pm Sunday till the wee hours Wednesday. The Moon squares Pluto very early Monday. You may lie awake wondering how to get some control back over your life; sometimes letting go is the only way to have peace about the direction one's life is taking. A Moon-Mars trine the next day has you up-and-at-'em like your normal self. A Moon-Venus sextile Tuesday morn also sweetens breakfast with either pastry or a lovely table companion. Late Tuesday has disappointments in advice from a pro, and confusion over what to do. Wait for a better time to consult with a trusted friend.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 2:48 am Wednesday till Friday morning. A Moon-Mercury conjunction Wednesday morn puts you in a talkative mood. Check all your mail/emails, too, for messages that have been delayed. The Moon-Ceres trine at mid-morning may prompt to spend your break planning the garden layout. The Moon trines Pluto at lunch; how sweet to get back control over some corner of your life. The Moon-Mars square midday Thursday gets your engine revving, but slow down enough to check out the specs on a job before starting. Plan to get lots done very early Friday before a case of spring fever sets in.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 9:18 am Friday till midday next Sunday. Check your emotions at the door mid-morning on Friday, because you may make costly decisions based on emotional self-talk rather than reality. Do some mental house-cleaning that afternoon/evening under creative aspects to Ceres and Pluto. You will be revved up and ready for action under a Moon-Mars sextile on Saturday evening. Plan an active night: games, sports, debate, competition, etc.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The New Moon in compatible Taurus is in your solar eleventh house of friends and clubs. You may consider donating your talents to an organization, just be sure that it does not cost you anything more than your time. Cancerians are not always recognized for their executive ability, but they are just as organized and focused as any Capricorn or Leo.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The New Moon in Taurus is in your solar tenth house of career. A new job or position may be in the offing for you. It will be a solid offer, with a solid if stuffy company, and will probably offer some nice perks. With Mercury direct also in Taurus, the job may entail being a spokesperson for the company, or speaking directly with customers or the media.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The New Moon in Taurus is in your solar ninth house of publishing, college, law and religion. Publishing, whether on paper or online, is probably accented because Mercury (recently turned direct) is a tenant there. You might also find opportunities in the talk show area, as a host or staffer, or gain recognition for writing research papers for your college courses. You may be able to develop a research paper into a book project.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - The New Moon in Taurus is in your solar eighth house of wills, insurance and other pooled resources. Well, I do not want to predict a death in the family. But you may start a period of being involved with helping others plan estate, tax, or insurance matters. Your efficiency and diplomacy help others feel at ease in dealing with difficult subjects.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - The New Moon in Taurus is in your solar seventh house of partners and marriage. This is interesting because with Mercury direct also here, you may find that you are called upon to be a spokesperson or be the public face for a company or product. Taurus sometimes goes into the field of sales, and this might be a good period to sell yourself as a product.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - The New Moon in Taurus is in your solar sixth house of health and work. Renew your New Year's resolutions regarding health and diet. Perhaps you might resolve to eat only veggies that come fresh from your own garden. Perhaps a Taurus pleasure like music or massage can help you deal with stress -- or walks in the countryside.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - The New Moon in Taurus is in your solar fifth house of children, romance and creativity. Taurus is a very creative sign, so whether your plans are to add to your family, or learn how to play piano, you should be able to fulfill that ambition. Mercury direct here points to improved communication with loved ones, especially with your children.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - The New Moon in Taurus is in your solar fourth house of house and family puts the accent on home life. You may be more involved in family matters, possibly hosting an exchange student (sextile Jupiter) or expanding your house. Mercury direct in this fourth house may bring a new phone or internet hookup, possibly converting to a satellite or other type of service. Have you been discussing putting the whole family on one cellphone plan?

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Sunday begins with the Moon in Pisces till early evening. A conjunction to Jupiter in the morning has you feeling confident and generous; you might treat someone to brunch. The Moon-Saturn opposition after lunch has you worried about running out of money or love or luck or everything. Stay cool and take a rational approach. A Moon-Uranus conjunction in late afternoon can cause a minor upset, but could also bring a windfall if you keep your wits about you.
