Your Milky Way Horoscope Aug. 8-14, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

The week begins with Venus and Saturn conjunct in Libra at 1:24 pm Sunday. Venus will be joined by Mars on Aug. 20, so try not to be too broken-hearted if you and a sweetie go your separate ways this week. Love will be in the air again. Actually, Venus and Saturn can indicate a formalization of a relationship, like in a marriage license, or at least an engagement.

STAND BACK, everybody! Feisty asteroid Juno hits 5 degrees Leo Friday, conjunct brave Regulus. (at least the traditional degree of Regulus) Women may suddenly be called on to be extremely brave and rescue husbands or kids, or they might unleash a rant online – or something! This is a real take-the-bull-by-the-nose-ring position, I think. STAND BACK and nobody gets hurt. Otherwise, Juno in Leo is pretty feisty and magnetic and fascinating to the opposite sex. Juno in Leo is a great partner and you will never be bored.

Uranus enters Pisces in retrograde motion at 11:36 pm Friday. Pisces natives may have some upsets in their lives but let's hope that it is nothing really serious. Pisces tends to make mountains out of molehills anyway. Hmm, let me try to remember what Uranus in Pisces was like, way back in May. It was not in a work sector for me, and I recall when it entered Aries, a work sector, I got some well-paid work for a short time anyway. Uranus will be in Pisces for the rest of the year, natch. Jupiter will retrograde back into Pisces on Sept. 8, on a Virgo New Moon. That looks interesting, hey?

The asteroid Vesta enters the relationship sign Libra. This is actually a pretty poor placement IMHO because she is too willing to be a martyr to her partner. This is alright if the Vesta person is putting her spouse thru school with the understanding that the other spouse is going to reciprocate. But too often the other party divorces soon after establishing him or herself in a good-paying job. Not nice. This is an extreme example. But Vesta here is just deadly to a long-term relationship because men tend to lose interest in women who sacrifice too much of themselves.
Monday's New Moon in Leo at 17 degrees is very tough. Pluto in Capricorn is square to Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus, and sesqui-quadrate the lights in Leo. What a lineup, folks. Crunch time all over so please try to be kind and help someone thru a tough month. I wrote some worst-case scenarios for many signs this week so please take them with a grain of salt, but do keep some cash on hand for emergencies like the one that the stars show this week.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Your opposite sign is getting whacked this week as Venus is the nut cracked in between Saturn and Mars. Try to be kind and offer helping hands. Your spouse may unload her frustrations in your vicinity when Juno sextiles them Friday, but I think you kinda like a fiery chick. At least she will be clear on what she wants and that will make things easier for you, too. The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in romantic relationships, endings as well as beginnings. Vesta enters your solar seventh; that Juno romantic interest sure looks good to you as a marriage prospect.

TAURUS
- April 20-May 20 - The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in home and family life. Cash (Venus) and debt (Mars) are limiting (Saturn) forces right now, semisquare the lights. This can be a very tough time for you if you have been waiting for things to get better, because they are not getting better fast enough. Juno has entered your solar fourth house also. You prefer traditional roles, and may want parental approval of your mate. OK, so take him or her home to meet the folks. Vesta enters your solar sixth house of health and work; you may donate some time to an organization, or privately work on clearing your own energy field.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in communicating with relatives and siblings. Juno there may indicate a sibling starts to demand better communications. There may also be an interest in providing info about etiquette, like how to write formal letters. The lights are semisquare Venus (values), and so I think the key here is to ask yourself where you can start to improve communicating your values to others. Vesta enters your solar fifth house of romantic partners; this is too self-sacrificing a placement, and I hope that you resist giving up your own needs to wait on someone else. Maybe you DO have to help out short term, but make clear what kind of arrangement this is and for how long.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer as the week begins till Sunday night. Sunday is spent rearranging things and attitudes under inconjunct aspects. An inconjunct in the am to Ceres suggests you adjust recipes or ingredients; maybe your goal is to reduce weight or reduce carbs. An inconjunct to Neptune in the afternoon suggests you adjust alcohol; perhaps beer is not worth the calories right now and makes you feel fuzzy-headed besides. The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in your money house. The semisquare to Venus is very apropos, as she rules cash and the dollar. You may have a cash squeeze; make sure to have enough in hand (and in the checking acct.) before the weekend is out.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from 7:23 pm Sunday till Tuesday evening. You feel like practicing jokes at dinner hour under a Moon-Uranus trine Sunday. Classics appeal to you later that night; perhaps a concert is on the agenda. A New Moon is at 17 degrees Leo at 11:08 pm. The Sun and Moon are semi-square Venus (who is uncomfortably squeezed between Saturn and Mars, ouch), and sesqui-quadrate Jupiter in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn. Be very careful not to bounce checks (Venus) this week. And try to express some love to everyone you meet. You may have problems integrating your personal philosophy (Jupiter) and personal power (Pluto) into everyday actions, but there's the challenge, as they say. Venus also squares Pluto; this can mean an obsession, or it can mean that power plays ruin a relationship.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Venus-Saturn conjunction in your sign on Sunday night can make you a bit blue over love or money or both. Be a grownup and take responsibility for your love life. If you need real help, try online explanations of why guys react the way they do. They pick up on women's feelings very readily, and tend to avoid women who are always negative. The Moon is in Virgo from 7 pm Tuesday till Thursday night. A Moon-Pluto trine late Tuesday helps you take control of part of your life; possibly you have to lay down the house rules for the kids' edification. Wednesday is totally Mercury; a conjunction to the Moon helps you make small talk if you are networking, and aids clarity in all communications. The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in your solar twelfth house of self-undoing. Perhaps you just feel such an overwhelming need to get out of the house and do ANYTHING but look at the four walls. Just take a friend who will pull you away before you party too hearty.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 6:43 pm Thursday till Saturday night. Frankly, Libra, Thursday night looks really crummy. The Moon is conjunct Saturn, opposite Jupiter-Uranus, and square Pluto. This looks ugly. However, it does give you the mental and emotional toughness to see things with brutal clarity, and find opportunities. Friday is so much nicer, with a Venus-Mars conjunction in your sign. You deserve to make a nice memory for yourself and a honey. Hey, a picnic in the park is a nice ritual for some couples. Or even on the living room floor. The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in eleventh house of friends and clubs. A semisquare to Venus may indicate that the cost of membership or activities is draining your purse.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon enters Scorpio at 8:26 pm Saturday. The Moon applies to an inconjunct to Jupiter in Aries and a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. You may have to make some adjustments to health regimens or work schedules, possibly under doc's orders. Pluto can introduce you to the local power players, possibly in the old smoke-filled room in back. The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in your career house. A semisquare to Venus may indicate that you need to price your services correctly.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – On Friday the Moon connects Venus then Mars in your solar eleventh house of friends and groups. Cupid may strike while goofing around with friends, or at a club meeting. Don't skip this week's social. An older person may introduce you. The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in your ninth house of publishing, law, college, etc. A legal case may come to nothing and you still have to pay fees or fines. Pluto in your solar second house is squaring half the planets, so make sure you have ready cash etc for covering bills.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in your eighth house of joint assets. Pluto in your first house is squaring half the sky, so you may be forced into something pretty drastic this month. You may have suffered some loss of reputation, or are unhappy over downsizing your home. Vesta enters your solar tenth house where you may wish to donate your talents to a charitable cause. Juno has entered your solar eighth house; you are attracted to a mate who has his or her own resources. Perhaps that means you move into her house, and sell or rent your own.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in your solar seventh house of partners. An exciting person may cross your radar and demand to be taken seriously. Meanwhile Pluto in your twelfth house is squaring half the sky; watch your back for secret enemies and share only as much info as people need to know. Protect files and business records from prying eyes and fire. Vesta enters your solar ninth house; you may wish to make a donation to your alma mater, or make a book available for free.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - The Leo New Moon on Monday activates a new phase in your solar sixth house of health and work. Due to the squares from Pluto to planets in your money houses, it is possible that you may have to go back to work, or liquidate assets, to pay off debts (Mars). Vesta enters your solar eighth house; you may donate some assets to joint accounts; make sure this is really what you want to do.

There's something weird about (Saturn moon) Rhea, alright

by Milky Way Maid

Scientists suspected there might be a ring of debris around Saturn's moon Rhea. But when the Cassini spacecraft flew by and took pictures, it found nothing. Hmmm.

From the article in the Monitor: "There are very strong and interesting and unexplained electromagnetic effects going on around Rhea," said Matthew Tiscareno from Cornell University, who led the imaging campaign. "But we're making a pretty strong case that it's not because of solid material orbiting the moon….For the amount of dust that you need to account for [the earlier] observations, if it were there, we would have seen it."

Your Milky Way Horoscope August 1-7, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Mars was conjunct Saturn on Saturday, July 31. This can be a great day to start a diet and exercise regimen for weight loss, especially if it contacts natal planets like the Sun, or the Ascendant. I once had a job that started with transiting Saturn conjunct my Sun, and the hard work I did there brought a rapid weight loss.

Other possible interpretations of Mars-Saturn are getting traffic tickets, bone fractures (due to the opposition to Uranus), accidents, regulation, the hard taskmaster who is also brilliant, or the sudden (Uranus) termination (Saturn) of relationships, jobs, contracts, and other situations. Uranus transits can mark turning points in one's life or career (for better or for worse). It is a truism but work repeating: the worst thing that happens to you can also be the best thing that ever happened to you.

A Grand Trine shapes up over the course of the day Monday between Moon in Taurus, Pluto in Capricorn and Mercury in Virgo. It should be a very materially productive day for all earth signs so get cracking.

Jupiter squares Pluto (at 3 degrees Aries-Capricorn) very early Tuesday, followed by Mars opposite Jupiter barely 24 hours later (at three degrees Libra-Aries). Mars-Jupiter aspects bring a high level of risk as well as great opportunities, so this may mean going out on a limb in order to get to where you want to go. Be very careful and calculating what you can afford to risk, because that Mars-Saturn-Uranus aspect is still in effect (tho waning). The Jupiter-Pluto square threatens to wipe you out if you fall off the tightrope, so to speak. Sticking to philosophical principles (Jupiter) will help you to weather the trials of life.

Venus is inconjunct Neptune Wednesday night at 6:57 pm. Venus is sugar, and there is some evidence that Venus-Neptune aspects are related to diabetes or other metabolic problems. Diabetics should always be on top of their glucose levels, but perhaps it would be wise to avoid tempting fate that night. Cooks might do well to analyze where they can reduce sugar levels in recipes, or substitute natural sweeteners like fruit and honey. There are tapes out there that can help one reduce a craving for sweets.

Venus enters its second home in Libra at 11:47 pm Friday. Librans generally like going to a salon anyway, but this transit favors getting a bit more of a makeover, or treating yourself to a spa service. Librans often look great with lightened hair framing the face.

Venus opposes Uranus very early Saturday, which does not generally favor romance. Any relationships begun at this time are generally short though very interesting. You may meet rather unusual people who shake up your life and attitude. Ongoing relationships may undergo stresses and separations, or you may have to adjust to being separated by job assignments. At worst, the Venus-Saturn conjunction at 1:24 pm Sunday August 8 may signal a termination of a relationship. C'est la vie, as they say. Vaya con dios, my darling, as the song goes. The good news is that Mars and Venus rendezvous later in the month; the conjunction is on August 20.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – August begins with the Moon in fiery Aries till early Monday. The Moon trines Ceres in the morning, favoring a trip to a local pick-your-own farm. A Moon-Venus aspect Sunday evening may help you to control your sweet tooth; perhaps tinkering with a dessert recipe can reduce the sugar content while still satisfying you. The Moon sextiles Neptune Sunday night, favoring movies or dance. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar first-seventh house axis, which may indicate a case of seeing someone across a crowded room. This is not the moment for immediate followup. Let chance indicate when your paths cross again, hopefully under more favorable transits for long-term success.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 4:13 am Monday till midday Wednesday. The Moon is inconjunct Mars and Saturn in your solar sixth house of work and health. You may have to put in some overtime at work, or you may get doctor's orders to lose weight. A Grand Trine shapes up over the course of the day Monday between Moon in Taurus, Pluto in Capricorn and Mercury in Virgo. It should be a very materially productive day so get cracking. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar sixth-twelfth house axis, so I am guessing you may have to make a trip to an ER or clinic, but more likely to visit a relative there.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 12:54 pm Wednesday till Friday evening. Lunch with a funny friend Wednesday lightens your mood with some laughs. A Moon-Mars trine that night favors sports and games to burn off your high energy. Thursday's lunch break is better spent exploring local shops or attractions; you may meet a very interesting shopkeeper. Conflict with a female family member is brewing Friday night. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar fifth-eleventh house axis, where affairs of the heart could come to a crashing end if communications are not cleared up. On the upside, you may meet unusual people through a club or service organization.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon in your solar eleventh house of friends early this week favors get-togethers; six pm Monday has a Moon-Mercury trine, and 7 am Wednesday has a Moon-Venus trine; both are rated A. The Moon is in Cancer from 5:50 pm Friday till next Sunday evening. You may be in the middle of a tug-of-war Friday night involving family members and work demands. Nothing is likely to be settled this week so cool everyone off. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar fourth-tenth house axis; a lucrative short-term assignment may be offered. You may also host a foreign visitor in your home for a weekend.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Wednesday night has a Moon-Mars trine linking to your solar eleventh house of friends; get together with the guys/gals to watch a game or play golf. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar third-ninth house axis. Legal matters may come to an unexpected end, with a generous award coming your way; you may meet unusual people thru a publishing event; you find the law of love in religious teachings. PS: Juno has entered your sign, giving you the fortitude to insist you be treated better. Equality and mutual respect are essential.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - A Grand Trine shapes up over the course of the day Monday between Moon in Taurus, Pluto in Capricorn and Mercury in Virgo. It should be a very materially productive day for earth signs, so get cracking. A chat with a friend under Saturday's Moon-Mercury sextile can really give you something to think about. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar second-eighth house axis. This might be auspicious for receiving estate proceeds, but get the best tax advice you can. Make the most of any unexpected funds that come your way from any source, because it may be a one-time payout.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Venus enters your sign late Friday. You may be even more attractive to the opposite sex this month, but it might be more productive to be too busy to date till later. Playing hard to get is good strategy. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar fifth-eleventh house axis, which may indicate a case of seeing someone across a crowded room. This is not the moment for immediate followup. Let chance indicate when your paths cross again, hopefully under more favorable transits for long-term success.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Pallas Athena has been in your sign long enough now for you to notice that you feel stronger about knowing what you want and where to get it. You feel more competent and confident in all areas of your life. A book you pick up under Saturday's Moon-Mercury sextile may really hit home for you. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar sixth-twelfth house axis, so I am guessing you may have to make a trip to an ER or clinic, but more likely to visit a relative there.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – A Monday medical appointment goes perfectly, and you sail through a lab test with ease. The focus is on your spouse Wed-Fri, so be generous and lend an ear to his or her concerns. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar fifth-eleventh house axis, where affairs of the heart could come to a crashing end if communications are not cleared up. Also your children may land on your doorstep after a bustup. On the upside, you may meet unusual people through a club or service organization.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - A Grand Trine shapes up over the course of the day Monday between Moon in Taurus, Pluto in Capricorn and Mercury in Virgo. It should be a very materially productive day so get cracking. Your spouse may find a publisher for you Saturday, or hand you a book you really ought to read, under a Moon-Mercury sextile. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar fourth-tenth house axis; a lucrative short-term assignment may be offered. You may also host a foreign visitor in your home for a weekend.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Monday's Grand earth Trine is anchored in your solar fourth house of family. You may finally find some pieces of the genealogy puzzle, or host a family reunion over the prior weekend. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar third-ninth house axis. Legal matters may come to an unexpected end, with a generous award coming your way; you may meet unusual people thru a publishing event; you find the law of love in religious teachings.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in the house of home and family midday Wednesday till Friday night. On Wednesday, homelife flows a bit more smoothly altho you may have to improvise dinner. A family discussion held under Saturday's Moon-Mercury sextile can clue you in to what is really going on with the kids and your spouse. Saturday's Venus-Uranus opposition is shaping up on your solar second-eighth house axis. This might be auspicious for receiving estate proceeds, but get the best tax advice you can. Make the most of any unexpected funds that come your way from any source, because it may be a one-time payout.

Your Milky Way Horoscope July 25-31, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

There's a Full Moon on the agenda for Sunday
, July 25 at 9:37 pm, at 3 degrees Aquarius exactly. A Full Moon seems wasted on airy Aquarius, doesn't it? All those moonbeams and stardust have a hard time meshing with this cold, dry, mental sign. And yet Aquarius can be so sentimental over loved ones; you've no better, steadfast friend, brother, or spouse. This lunation features a Moon sextile to Jupiter and Uranus in Aries, so expect innovation and pioneering leadership.

Saturn opposes Uranus at 1:07 pm Monday, and then Mars opposes Uranus at 9:31 am Friday. Bill Meridian says that Saturn-Uranus aspects have historically been very challenging in business situations. Saturn is structure, and Uranus topples or collapses that structure, or at least shakes it up. On a personal level, let me add that Mars, Uranus, and Saturn together can break bones (Saturn) or cause other injuries and accidents (Uranus). Mars adds the danger of fire or heat, and Uranus rules mechanical and electrical items. Be safety conscious, and drive defensively.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Sun in Leo (in your solar fifth house) trines Jupiter in Aries at 7:30 am Monday; this favors creativity in the arts, sports and games, romance, dealing with children, and gambling. The Moon is in Aries from 4:42 pm Friday afternoon thru the weekend. A Moon-Uranus conjunction can upset your feelings Friday, perhaps the commute home is especially trying. The Moon opposes Mars-Saturn in Libra Friday evening; you can feel very frustrated and trapped; people are more likely to say 'yes' early Saturday or on Sunday evening. The Moon-Sun trine about 9 am Saturday is especially lucky with romance and children.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar sixth and twelfth houses. Try to stay out of hospitals! But seriously, take care of your health, and keep a sharp eye for safety issues in the workplace. A Mercury-Neptune opposition afflicts the home-career axis; possibly water damage may shut down the office, or more likely communications will be garbled. A Mercury-Pluto trine in earth signs makes a grand trine with natal planets early Friday; you may write something rather profound, Tau. Run it by someone you trust.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Venus in your solar fourth house sign Virgo brings enjoyment from parties and female guests. Perhaps you can create your own coffee club in your kitchen. Early Friday has Mercury in your fourth with aspects that prompt deep discussions of philosophy and other wisdom. The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar fifth and eleventh houses. You may experience sudden breaks with friends or romantic partners. Don't say anything you can't take back.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar fourth and tenth houses, the ones ruling home and career. Your job may experience sudden breaks or layoffs; arguments or accidents may ensue at home. Hey, just because some unfavorable events happen at work, doesn't mean you take things out on each other at home. And as always, keep an eagle eye out for safety issues. The Moon in your solar tenth house on Friday may be especially tense; perhaps a bubble bath would be a good idea after work.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Monday am commute suffers from a Mercury-Neptune opposition; check detours online before leaving house. Also, take any rumors with a grain of salt. The Sun in Leo trines Jupiter in Aries at 7:30 am Monday; this favors publishing, legal, education or religious matters. Perhaps you get a green light for a manuscript. The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar third and ninth houses. Be careful what you put on Facebook, because that stuff travels all over. It might be well to upgrade your internet security in general.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Mercury enters Virgo, one of its homes, on Tuesday afternoon. You may get engrossed in a fascinating book about alternative health late into the night. The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar money houses (2, 8). It may be time to slay the debt (Mars) dragon, or assist others to do so. Money may come from foreign (Uranus) sources. You may have to bite the bullet and accept unemployment compensation, altho Virgos REALLY hate to do so. Sources of credit may be cut off, thru no fault of your own.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar first and seventh houses. This may be distressing but marriages and partnerships are apt to come to sudden ends. Just close a chapter of your life with as much grace as possible, and embrace the freedom to meet all kinds of people. Someone very unusual may come into your life, possibly a foreigner (Uranus). Saturday morning may be especially frustrating, when Mars conjuncts Saturn in your sign. Perhaps sticking to routine would be better.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Friday's Mercury-Pluto trine affects your solar eleventh-third houses, at almost the same Merc is inconjunct Jove in Aries; a club meeting may inspire you to try your hand at something new. It may even become an avocation for you. The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar health houses (6 and 12). Try to avoid hospitals! Take care to guard your health, although some emergency surgery may be unavoidable. Size up the safety situation wherever you are.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar fifth and eleventh houses. You may experience sudden breaks with friends or romantic partners. Don't say anything you can't take back. Uranus in the fifth can bring windfalls, but probably not till Mars and Saturn move off the aspects. Ceres in Sag receives a favorable aspect Tuesday morn; offer treats at a work break. Ceres is unfavorably aspected tho on Thursday night; perhaps a dinner out disagrees with you.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar fourth and tenth houses of home and career. You may feel whipsawed between home and work, unable to concentrate on either one. You may have to leave company-sponsored housing, or the company transfers you. On Sunday, Pluto in your sign is squared by Jupiter; you can receive a big lift if only in a new philosophical attitude. Pluto also gets a pleasant sextile from the Moon Wednesday morn; share break time with a kind friend. Friday morn features a Mercury trine to your Pluto; you can be exceedingly influential so be careful how you phrase things in interviews or articles.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from 3:38 pm Sunday till early Wednesday. Good advice on Sunday afternoon from an elder, scientist, or mentor. Laugh with friends the same night. Try not to believe any rumors on Wednesday. The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar third and ninth houses of communications, politics, and education. Be careful what you put on Facebook, because that stuff travels all over. It might be well to upgrade your internet security in general.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 4 am sharp Wednesday till Friday afternoon. That morning you may lean towards just dropping an insurance but get advice before losing your whole investment. You may not want to hear what a spouse has to say that afternoon, but a friend may find a better way of stating the same general idea in the evening. The Mars-Saturn opposition to Uranus affects your solar money houses (2 and 8). You may have to accept UI, you may have to go into credit repair counseling (see free resources through your state website). Sources of credit may be cut off, thru no fault of your own.

Your Milky Way Horoscope for July 18-24, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Hail, all hail, to Leo – The Sun enters the sign of the Lion at 6:21 pm on Thursday, July 22. A mature Leo avoids the pitfall of demanding attention whether or not they deserve it, and progresses to inspiring others to shine in a shared spotlight. The Sun's first aspect is a sextile to Saturn which has now re-entered Libra. Leos will have renewed ambition, and be able to set an agenda for themselves. You will be able to handle a detail work, possibly in a leadership position with a hobby club or philanthropic organization. Have you ever directed a play? This may be the year that you do so.

Saturn re-enters Libra at 11:10 am Wednesday. Libra is the sign of its exaltation so let's hope for a renewed sense of fair play and equality in the courts of the land. Enough of this garbage about favoring corporate interests (Capricorn) over that of the public.

Jupiter goes retrograde at 8:03 am Friday, at 3 degrees 24 minutes Aries. Retrogrades are not necessarily bad things, but one needs to pay attention to where they are in your natal chart and what is going on with you. Some things may need to be redone, or some issues come back to stir up your pot. Fire signs might try to set new projects in motion when the Moon is in Sag, to create a grand trine in fire signs, good for leadership and for inspiring others.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Saturn enters your solar seventh house on Wednesday, where it emphasizes responsibility and mutual support in a stable relationship. Perhaps you finally make it legal, or you feel a sense of duty toward your partner. Other kinds of partnerships may be formalized, too, tho it may be unequal. Saturn says that one partner may be rather older or more experienced than the other. This is an advantage, in view of your impulsiveness. The Sun enters Leo on Thursday, bringing your personal warmth to bear in the arts, in romantic relationships, in sports, etc.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Saturn enters your solar sixth house on Wednesday, where a sense of duty helps you finish a job. It may indicate a tour of duty in the military, since the sixth house rules the military and government. Your health may suffer, and you may have to hew to a stern regimen in order to accomplish anything. The Sun in Leo enters your solar fourth house Thursday, prompting you to bring the sun indoors, with warm colors, lively children, or perhaps a little studio in the attic.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Saturn enters your solar fifth house, where it obliges you to develop your God-given talents. Or help others to develop THEIR talents. And you can be very good at that. The Sun in your solar third house may call upon you to be a spokesperson, perhaps doing interviews or handling press conferences. Your ruler Mercury is squared by the Moon in Monday morn; you might reschedule appointments for an easier trine on Thursday afternoon. Mercury trines Ceres in Sag on Wednesday night; you might call in to a gardening show on the radio for information, or chat with an expert in person.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Best days this week may be the ones with Moon in compatible Scorpio, Sun-Tues. Saturn enters your solar fourth house on Wednesday, forcing you to examine issues of personal security. Maybe you finally buy a house, after renting for years. Maybe you finally feel ready to settle down and start a family. The Sun in your solar second house helps you earn money through your personal efforts, perhaps in sales, or in emceeing a local talent show. The Moon in your opposite sign Capricorn on Friday receives squares; you may have a stressful day. You may have to assert yourself, which is sometimes the same thing, hey?

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Mercury in Leo trines Ceres on Wednesday night; you may teach or babysit youngsters, so don't make plans for cleaning the closet. The Sun enters Leo on Thursday. Shy Leos (yes, there are a few) may have an opportunity in the coming year to overcome their shyness and learn to share a place in the sun with friends and creative types. It is best not to move forward on financial matters Thursday, at least not until after the Sun enters your sign. Saturn enters your solar third house, and you realize a need to have your communications taken seriously. You might decide to go back to school, begin a teaching career, or write a book.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Saturn enters your solar second house on Wednesday, emphasizing security by possessing valuables. Saturn may challenge you to examine your ideas of security. The Sun in your solar twelfth house may make it easier for you to visit shut-ins or relatives in nursing homes. Your attention to detail can adjust their room for greater ease and comfort. Jupiter goes retrograde in your eighth house on Friday, where you may have to re-submit insurance claims or followup with a phone call. Venus in your sign trines the Moon in Capricorn on Saturday; you enjoy being in the garden or going on a nature hike.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Sunday begins with the Moon in Libra. It makes a square to the Sun at 6 am; squabbles are likely to blow over quickly. The Moon trines Neptune at mid-morning; enjoy the music at a church service or festival, take an early swim, get out the easel and paints or your camera, or heck, visit the local wine shop. Saturn enters your sign on Wednesday. Saturn here can make you too concerned with trying to maintain perfectionism, to the point of being a Stepford wife. Afraid to rock the boat, you might swallow your objections when someone steps on you. Taking ownership of the harmony in your environment empowers you to rebalance your world. You're a beautiful person, Libra, inside and out.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 1:42 pm Sunday till Tuesday evening. A Moon-Chiron trine midday Sunday helps you find healing; try a health fair or a flotation tank. The inconjunct to Jupiter and Uranus in your solar sixth house of health also help you find healing. The Moon is habits, so perhaps you finally break a bad habit. Early Monday features a sextile to Venus, yum, but don't overdo the donuts. Find a good music station during your commute. A Moon-Mercury square Monday evening may lead you to misspeak so think before answering. A Sun-Moon trine Tuesday afternoon helps you with publishing or legal matters. Saturn entering your solar twelfth house urges you to manifest your private dream.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 7:48 pm Tuesday till Friday morn. The Moon squares Venus Wednesday evening; better not make a date for tonight. A Moon trine Venus midday Saturday is much better. A Sun-Saturn sextile on Thursday helps you settle a legal matter for a club you belong to. Or perhaps you introduce the club president to a publisher for the annual cookbook project. A Sun-Uranus trine on Friday morn favors launching a website or book tour, especially if natal planets tie in with it. Awesome! Saturn entering your solar eleventh house prompts a desire to distinguish yourself among your peers.

CAPRICORN
- Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 4:39 am Friday till next Sunday afternoon. Cappy is NOT a weekend person! They like to work work work. You are in a serious frame of mind Friday evening with a Moon-Pluto conjunction; you might spend the evening asking yourself some soul-searching questions. The Moon trines Venus midday Saturday; this favors spending quality time with loved ones. You might spend part of the day gathering community support for a petition expressing a value (Venus) close to your heart. Saturn enters your solar tenth house where it prompts the desire to be seen as an authority on something. (Use super powers only for good.)

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Saturn enters Libra in your solar ninth house of publishing, law, religion and national politics on Wednesday. It is possible you take a high position in academia or law, such as a judgeship. You may merely work long hours as a clerk or court reporter, but I think that you may be called on to share your knowledge or love of learning. The Sun enters your opposite sign on Thursday; you may be in the public eye or in the news in some way, or your spouse may be the one in the spotlight.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Best days this week may have Moon in compatible Scorpio, Sun-Tues. Spend time on creative outlets Sunday. Do someone a favor under a Moon-Venus sextile Monday morning, like bringing in treats for the office. A Sun-Moon trine on Tuesday may tie in with natal planets for a grand trine in water signs. Express yourself; write a poem or a song, or put on your iPod and dance to the music. Saturn enters Libra in your solar eighth house on Wednesday, where it requires you to hew to a high level of integrity.

The Chicken-Soup Sign Cancer: The Crab, The Scarab, Other Shelled Critters, and The Crib

by Milky Way Maid

It may crush native Cancerians' sensitive feelings to learn that the the brightest star in the constellation Cancer, Lucida, is only a fourth magnitude star. It takes a sharp eye, or a telescope, to track the passage of Cancer across the summer sky. Come to think of it, four is both the magnitude of its star and the house of the zodiac which it rules. So there may be a certain apropos quality to the number four here.

Yet dim as it was, the Egyptians used Lucida to mark the summer solstice from about 2000 BC to 1000 BC. The Egyptians did not call it the Crab, they called it the Scarab, or actually Scarabaeus. The Scarab is the sacred beetle that rolls a ball of dung around, a ball in which it has laid its eggs for the next generation. Other Egyptian sources may have called it the Stars of the Water, or the Two Turtles, according to Rupert Gleadow in The Origin of the Zodiac. (Egypt does have river turtles, which are hard shelled critters just as crabs are.)

By the time the Greek astronomer Eratosthenes wrote of this constellation, it was called the Crab. He described it as being made up of two asses and a crib. The crib portion lies near the top, between the two asses, and is named Praesepe which is Latin for "the manger". The nebula in Cancer is known as the Beehive, flanked by the two donkeys, Asellus Australis (the southern donkey) and Asellus Borealis (the northern donkey).

The image of the manger and asses was transformed into one of a Nativity scene, a manger where the baby Jesus was laid, during the Christian era.

The Cancer native might not like to show their feelings outwardly. They retreat inside their shells, or cocoon inside their homes, and watch TV or surf the web. They may sublimate them into eating or overeating. They may become toxic people who poison the atmosphere around them with their unexpressed/suppressed, unprocessed feelings.
And yet they can be the most understanding and supportive friends and parents, who soothe your brow and offer chicken soup (either literal or metaphorical). They do not generally try to solve your problems for you, though they often offer the best advice you ever got.

They are the homemakers and hoteliers and restaurateurs of the world. They know just what will make a place feel like home, and they know how to make a cold impersonal hotel room liveable when THEY are travelling. They pack a few family pictures along, and maybe a special pillow, and some tea bags, and they'll be alright.

All too often Cancer is short-changed when one is evaluating the special skills of each sign. His or her executive ability is too often unrecognized. After all, one of the biggest skills a successful homemaker has is time management. What else? Well, there's people skills, akin to personnel management or supervisory experience. Often they set budgets and weekly menus. They actually do so many tasks that there is not enough space in this column to list them all, and I don't want to give myself a headache trying to do so.

Rulerships and Keywords: Feminine. Receptive. Watery. Parts of body: stomach, breasts, nutrition, digestion, uterus. Bakeries, boats, buildings, lakes, ocean, pools, plumbing or sinks. Country, home, mom, apple pie. All water creatures but especially the tortoise, blue topaz, lychnis, green jasper, euchite, agate, chalcedony, amber, the lotus flower. The Greeks, at least according to a list by Manilius*, assigned Mercury (Hermes) to rule over Cancer. The Greeks assigned it the herbs comfrey and mandragora oficinalis.

*The full Manilius list, as recounted by Plato, is as follows: Pallas rules the woolly Ram, and Venus guards the Bull,/ Apollo has the handsome Twins, and Mercury the Crab,/ Jove, with the Mother of the Gods, himself is Leo's lord;/ The Virgin with her Ear of Corn to Ceres falls; the Scales/ to Vulcan's smithy; while to Mars the warlike Scorpion cleaves;/ The Hunter's human part Diana rules, but what's of horse/ Is ruled by Vesta, with the straitened stars of Capricorn;/ Aquarius is Juno's sign, as opposite to Jove,/ And Neptune owns the pair of Fish that in the heavens move.

It is interesting that under this regime, Libra is given to Vulcan the smithy, since it is the only man-made object among these constellations. Pallas seems apropos to Aries, since she sprang fully formed from the head of Zeus her father, and was usually clad in full armor. Venus to Taurus, and Mars to Scorpio, and Neptune to Pisces, are as we have it now, and I can understand Apollo for the Twins (His chariot is pulled by TWO horses) although Apollo's sister was Pallas Athena. Jupiter as ruler of Leo seems odd but then again Leo is the kingly sign. It's really kind of cute that they assign Ceres to Virgo; it seems so obvious. Diana also seems an obvious choice for Sag, tho we have no idea what they were thinking of by assigning Vesta to to either Sag or Capricorn. What does Vesta have to do with goats or horses or any livestock?? Tis a puzzlement indeed. And what about this Mercury rulership over Cancer? Well, Cancer's many 'hands' make her a multi-tasking demon. Other than that, nothing comes to mind.

Book Review: “Occult America” follows hidden thread of spiritual seeking throughout American history

by Milky Way Maid

A new book by Mitch Horowitz, "Occult America: The Secret History of How Mysticism Shaped Our Nation," reveals a previously ignored thread in American history, the progress of the personal spiritual search. Horowitz writes that “The arcane philosophies grouped under the name of occultism represent an unheralded thought movement in America's national life, one that not only placed horoscopes into nearly every daily newspaper, but that transformed a young nation into the launching pad for the revolutions in alternative spirituality that spanned the globe in the 20th century.”

The medieval church had succeeded in squeezing every type of nature worship, astrology and cosmology and related arts, into a dark basement with Satanists and black magic purveyors. But during the Renaissance, church reforms allowed studies of Greek and Roman pantheons, culture, and science; later they discovered old Egyptian texts. Europeans became fascinated with the idea of a subculture of adepts in all the hidden arts or crafts. In spite of astrologers being forced out of respectable colleges during the so-called Enlightenment, European royalty “maintained discreet ties to occult societies and impresarios.”

Across the sea, a new nation became home for religious refugees from Germany and elsewhere. In 1694, and group of Germans were led by Johannes Kelpius to Pennsylvania, where they could practice the arts of astrology, alchemy, numerology, and mystical Christianity. They were followed soon after by the Quakers. Upper New York state was quite a hotbed of religious fervor, giving rise to the Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, Spiritualism, Mesmerism, and assorted other 'cults'.

Nowadays it is an open secret that many of the Founding Fathers were members of the Freemasons. Their occult symbols still decorate our paper money, and it is said that their geometry is hidden in the layout of the national capitol in Washington, D.C.

The mid-1800's produced another spurt of spiritual self-discovery in Transcendentalism, shepherded by intellectuals like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. Their brand of religiousity was separate from organized religion; in fact they insisted that the only true place of communion was within, not in a church. Transcendentalists drew upon terms from 'Hindoo' texts as well as Hermetic principles.

During the same period, Spiritualism was born and flourished in a phenomenon that has not been matched. A craze for seances, table rapping, and mediumship could never satisfy the incredible yearning for communication with those who have passed on. And I might add, that it is a yearning that is still being actively taken advantage of in the modern media.

Fortunately other, more intellectual, threads of occult wisdom balanced them out. Helena Petrovna Blavatsky created the Theosophical Society, the intellectual equal of Emerson and Thoreau. Blavatsky came to America in 1873, and two years later founded her Society in New York City. It was dedicated to reintroducing Hindu and Buddhist ideas not only here but in India, to which the Society moved within a few years of its founding in the States. Its influence was enormous but in surprising ways. A young Mohandas Gandhi came into contact with her followers while he was still studying in London in 1889. Gandhi credited the Theosophists with bringing him back to Hinduism.

Another thread of American spiritual activism is called New Thought. Founded by a New England clockmaker named Phineas Quimby, it focused on mental healing, sometimes with the aid of Mesmerism. Quimby treated a young lady named Mary Baker Eddy, who drew upon her experiences to found the Christian Science church. You may find related elements in Norman Vincent Peale's power of positive thinking, Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich), Dale Carnegie, (How to Win Friends...), and for that matter in Wayne Dyer (You'll See It When You Believe It), Norman Cousins (humor therapy) and The Secret.

The modern landscape is littered with both successful and moribund belief systems, but at least we have all had a chance to try them out for ourselves. And how many bookstores, not to mention talk shows, would have been boarded up if not for sales of myriad titles on how to fix your own head. The unfortunate result, in my opinion, is that Americans have settled for philosophy a la carte, or to put it another way, believe whatever you want to believe. We are too lazy for rigorous mental exercise, and probably won't even read someone's book if he/she is not also an entertaining speaker. That is our loss. America has been truly blessed with some gifted and wise people, and we would do well to dig out their old books and learn from them.

Moon Will Make It a Grand Cross in Cardinal Signs in August, 2010

by Milky Way Maid

A Grand Cross is not the end of the world kind of aspect, but it a challenge. Fortunately, the cardinal signs rather like a challenge. As a personal reference, I once knew a first-degree Aries whose hobby was shopping and holding rummage sales. She often offered an item that was her personal challenge piece, by that I mean something that she challenged herself to sell. I recall one time it was a small Christmas tree, something so pathetic it was cute, in a Charlie Brown kind of way. She was eventually offered two dollars for it, and she had to force herself to not seem overly eager to take the money. So then once she sold that, she took on another challenge piece; I think it was a pair of black tiki god tumblers, the kind you sometimes get as a souvenir in theme restaurants.

Looking down the road at August, we find a Grand Cross forming in early degrees of the cardinal signs. On August 6, 2010 Uranus and Jupiter will be in Aries (at zero and three degrees, respectively); the Moon will be at three degrees of Cancer, opposing Pluto at three degrees of Capricorn, and then there is a trio of Mars, Saturn and Venus in Libra (at 5, 1 and zero degrees, respectively).

President Obama's natal Venus is at 2 degrees of Cancer, and in have natal Mars in an early degree of a cardinal sign, too. I will let you know how that plays out for me. I recall Saturn transits over that Mars which left me feeling extremely tired; had to make myself get plenty of sleep to cope with that one. Fortunately that was a short transit!

Possibly some of you know cardinal natives who are rather difficult to be around lately. Aries natives particularly did not like when Saturn first ventured into Libra, their opposite sign. Oh, do they hate when their way is blocked! Right now I have some Capricorn friends who have been going through some tough times; one has been dealing with a divorce and forced sale of his home, and another has been getting sporadic work. Please try to exercise your compassion muscles wherever you can.

Please also note that on Aug. 3, Jupiter squares Pluto, and the following day, Mars squares Pluto at three degrees Libra/Capricorn. Kaye Shinker of astrologicalinvesting dot com believes that the public (Moon) will be incensed that they have been hoodwinked by the Wall Street crooks. She feels that the scandals perpetrated by Bernie Madoff, Enron, Worldcom et al have been just the tip of the iceberg.

Astrologers all over cyberspace are weighing in with their predictions and interpretations. Maurice Fernandez says in his article, “Time of Radical Shift: A Look into the Coming Cycle” that “the situation heating up is like a piece of molten iron that can be beaten into a better form, personally and collectively.” Raye Mathis, writing in Venture Inward magazine, states that the cross is a time of great change when life is giving you a kick in the behind to force you to deal with the deep hole you have dug for yourself. She states that it is a time when one can re-create oneself and make deep inner changes.

What else might be affected by this Grand Cross? I have speculated that since Libra is the sign of marriage, and Jupiter rules law, and Uranus is the unusual or the shake-up, that same-sex marriage may be a burning issue this summer. Either same-sex marriage will become the law of the land or it will be outlawed. On a personal level, many of us may face trials in our marriages, and some may break up/separate (Uranus) or have a divorce finalized (Saturn).

Rather than sacrifice a long-term marriage that has been basically happy, it might be better to go off to separate retreats during this transit, to avoid saying terrible things that one cannot retract. Wait until after the transit has passed before making any final decisions on separating. Go to couples therapy afterward, or to a marriage enrichment weekend, to relearn how to reach each other emotionally.
Carl Jung described the cross as two pairs of opposites, which only meet at the center.

I am reminded of the sages of India, who point out that the only way to keep from getting unmercifully tossed off the spinning Wheel of life is to move toward the serene center, from which vantage point one may observe the maelstrom churning around you.

So again, try to keep the image of the spinning wheel of life in your mind's eye as all of us get tossed around this Grand Cross this summer. The center is the place to be. Whatever works for you to get tuned into your center is what you want to do plenty of. Some options: Meditation, craniosacral massage (or just using your still-point inducer), or going to a quiet nature preserve or a daily nature walk.

Your Milky Way Horoscope July 11-17, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

The New Moon Solar Eclipse is 3:40 pm EDT, Sunday, July 11 at 19 degrees, 24 minutes of Cancer the Crab. It features a Mercury-Jupiter trine in the early morning, followed by a Moon-Mars sextile a few minutes before the eclipse is exact. Also Mercury in Leo is inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn, and the Moon in Cancer is inconjunct Ceres in Sag. Mercury-Jupiter favors sales for one thing, and since it is in fire signs, I would expect that fashions in warm colors will find favor. Gosh, if you have ANY natal planets in fire signs, try wearing red clothes or carrying a red purse, and see if it lifts your mood.

Venus entered Virgo on July 10, and proceeds to oppose Chiron and is inconjunct Uranus in Aries on the same day. She also is inconjunct Jupiter early Tuesday, and trines Pluto in Capricorn at midday. Venus possibly offers relief for those who venture into unconventional (Uranus) health treatments (Chiron). So feel free to try massage, craniosacral therapy, meditation, color or aromatherapy, or any of the myriad other New Agey therapies.

Attitude (Aries) adjustment (inconjunct) can also make a huge difference in what you attract into your life. I can recommend you give a listen to the very interesting lectures by Seymour Segnit. If you do, you will very likely get a shift in your life. (He has a website, is affiliated with Life University, and there are YouTube clips of him.)

The only other inner or outer planet aspect is that Mars is square Ceres in Sag on Friday evening. Following on the heels of the Eclipse when Moon inconjunct Ceres, I propose that midsummer heat or storms will be intense enough to damage crops. Will have to keep an ear to the farm reports. If you have not already done so, you may consider planting a garden. Quick crops like salad greens (Swiss chard, leaf lettuce), zucchini, plum tomatoes, herbs, etc will help insulate the food budget from price spikes.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – You might find just the thing if shopping Sunday, with the help of a Mercury-Jupiter trine. It also boosts sales if you are the seller, especially of art or craft items. Good for chatting up that nice lady next door, or performing on stage. Monday's Moon in Leo trines not only whatever natal planets but Uranus and Jupiter; very favorable for making an audition, or for finding an appreciative audience at the karaoke or sporting event. A Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo about 5 pm Wed. favors getting advice on natural sweeteners at the health food store.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 - Sunday's Eclipse in Cancer, your solar third house, can have an energizing effect on communications in general due to the sextile to Mars. Do try to watch your words over the next six months so that you do not start needless. arguments. The Venus-Pluto trine midday Tuesday will make a grand trine with your natal planets; try to figure out your ten-year plan for financial independence. A Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo about 5 pm Wed. favors a visit to a gallery or salon after work, anywhere that Venus rules. Thursday night's Sun-Moon sextile favors a date at a favorite local attraction.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon in Leo (your second house of money) trines Uranus and Jupiter on Monday in your solar sixth house; a possible second income may open up for you. It may be related to consulting/counseling, technical or repair work, or to creating websites, or advertising and publishing. On Tuesday, Venus in Virgo in your fourth house trines Pluto; you may decide a drastic renovation is needed at home (possibly to accommodate your new consulting office?) and the loan for it comes thru. A Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo about 5 pm Wed. favors stopping by Mom's place after work.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer as the week begins, and stays till Monday morn. The Cancer Sun sextiles Mars in the wee hours (and the Moon also sextiles Mars in the afternoon), so you will probably wake with lots of energy and vigor. A Moon-Saturn sextile helps you accomplish detail work on Monday morn, such as bookkeeping or other records. A Moon-Mercury conjunction in early evening favors having a special guest at dinner. On Wednesday, a Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo, your solar third house, favors a night out with women friends.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Eclipse in Cancer on Sunday sets off your solar twelfth house of troubles; you would do well to manage debt (Mars) to avoid getting in a deeper financial hole. Any problems that come up may prompt you to generously cover the expense for friends or family, but you really must insist that they repay you to avoid people becoming hangers-on. Associations with politics or with professional people can be highly profitable Sunday, or you may pick up an intriguing book. The Moon is in Leo from 8:53 am Monday till Wednesday morn. It trines Uranus and Jupiter, when you would do well to follow up on those chance meetings from Sunday. Also on Wednesday, a Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo, your solar second house, favors a gift exchange with women. Or treat your mom.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Venus in Virgo makes a couple aspects Tuesday, when making a gift of something can get you unstuck in your life. The Moon is in Virgo from 9:15 am Wednesday till Friday morn. You can make big strides in adjusting the way your feel about life under a Moon-Jupiter aspect Wed. afternoon. A Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo about 5 pm Wed. favors pampering yourself after work; try the local salon or spa. A Moon-Mars conjunction Thursday am favors visiting the gym before work. A Sun-Moon sextile that night favors a night out with friends that evening.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Eclipse on Sunday in Cancer is in your solar tenth house of career; obviously your profession and your reputation may be affected. The sextile to Mars warns you to avoid petty disputes with coworkers. The Moon is in Libra from 10:24 am Friday till midday Sunday the 18th. The Moon opposes Uranus and then Jupiter that day, which favors raising your spirits with laughter, theater and philosophy. A Moon-Mercury sextile starts the day Saturday, sending you on errands or catching up with emails. You draw closer to friends with a good chat.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - The Solar Eclipse in Cancer on Sunday is trine your sun sign, giving you a boost in the world, helps you garner good reviews, and helps legal matters progress favorably. The sextile to Mars in your solar eleventh brings advancement thru friends (especially men) and thru memberships in professional or hobby associations. On Tuesday, don't turn down lunch with a powerful woman associate. She might lean on you for a favor, but it is likely one that you are all too glad to do. A Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo about 5 pm Wed. favors getting together with women friends after work.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Monday's Moon trine to Uranus and Jupiter will make a grand trine to your natal planets, so have big plans ahead. A Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo about 5 pm Wed. favors an afternoon sales presentation that ends with a nice order. Best days may be when Moon is in Libra, Fri-Sat. On Friday, an impromptu event with friends can be extremely enjoyable, even profitable. Chatting with a lawyer friend may uncover some good tips on Saturday.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - The Solar Eclipse in your solar seventh house sign of Cancer puts the accent on relationships; a marriage may end, or another one begin although long-term success is not guaranteed. The sextile to Mars adds a physical attraction. A Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo about 5 pm Wed. favors a visit to a bookstore after work, also favorable verdicts in legal matters. Thursday favors a legal resolution with an open enemy. Opportunity, even windfalls, can occur like clockwork Mon, Wed, Fri.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Solar Eclipse in Cancer affects your sixth house of health and work. Take care of checkups and any screening tests so that minor ailments stay minor. Take advantage of free or nominally priced tests at health fairs. Some of you may take additional work, possibly in collections, possibly in government positions. Be cautious Monday as someone might try to pull the wool over your eyes by manipulating your emotions. Best days may be with the Moon in compatible Libra Fri-Sat. You may sit in amazement as a friend rakes in the luck on Friday afternoon.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - The Solar Eclipse in Cancer, your solar fifth house, puts the accent on children, fun, entertainment, and creativity. The sextile to Mars in your seventh house implies that your spouse may be more favorably affected than you are. If he is put in the spotlight, let him enjoy a bit of celebrity. A Moon-Venus conjunction in Virgo about 5 pm Wed. favors being or getting a sympathetic listener in an after-work tete-a-tete. Try not to take it personally when the Moon-Mars conjunction in your seventh house Thursday morn makes hubby rather intense about burnt toast or other small stuff. He might make up to you with a lovely dinner out.
