Your Milky Way Horoscope Oct. 3-9, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury enters Libra on Sunday mornin
g at 11:04 am. Mercury in Libra has the property of being able to change its voice without distortion or hurting one's vocal chords. Actors and singers can mimic different accents, or create different voices for different characters with great success. Mercury in Libra wants a mental connection with others. Mercury here is also rather good at finding the right words to say or write in any social situation. You may write about art or artistic subjects, and be an arbiter of popular taste.

Venus and Mars are conjunct in passionate Scorpio at 5:58 pm Sunday, at 13 degrees. Stand back everybody, they could go up in spontaneous combustion. Scorpio seems to have an undeserved rep for sleeping around; in actuality, there is no one more committed to a relationship than ol' Scorp. There is often a spiritual aspect to their deepest associations. Mars is stronger than Venus in Scorpio, so I would expect that sports and martial arts, as well as sex, risque clothing and speech, assertiveness, and salesmanship will be accented. Your romantic partner may enjoy a date in which you pretend to be spies, meeting in a secret hideaway, etc.

On the economic side, Mars and Venus represent a transaction where goods may be sold in a distress situation, like a going out of business sale. This is Mars coming in for the kill. Mars scoops up goods in a distress sale that may be profitably resold down the line. I recommend reading more about the astrology of economics in the 'Time & Money: The Astrology of Wealth' book by Barbara Koval.

Mercury's first aspect will be a square to Pluto in the wee hours of Tuesday. Mercury-Pluto aspects often favor some kind of detective work, or perhaps reading/writing a mystery novel. You may have to work a bit harder to get to the bottom of things under the square, but you are more driven to dig it out. In personal communications, use caution lest your bluntness alienate those you need information from. But you are capable of penetrating insights under this aspect, too. And those insights can include psychological or motivational reasons why people do or have done what they do. If you have any urge to write a novel, join that local writers' group and get started.

A New Moon at 2:45 pm Thursday occurs at 14 degrees 24 minutes of Libra. The last aspects that the Moon makes before this New Moon are conjunctions to Mercury and Saturn early in the morning. The first aspect after the NM is a trine to Neptune in Aquarius on Friday morning. You may find that the half hour before and after the NM are very auspicious for starting something important. Artistic projects may flourish under the Neptune trine, especially music, dance, poetry, and painting. The NM is semi-sextile Mars and Venus in Scorpio, so love stories may be the main subject. BTW we had a Full Moon in Libra on March 29 at 9 degrees; those with natal planets here will get hit again. What lesson is taking you so long to learn?

Venus alas, goes retrograde again at 3:05 am Friday, Oct. 8 at 13 degrees Scorpio. She will go direct again on Nov. 18 at 27 degrees Libra. Those with planets in late degrees of Libra may get hitched/engaged in a famous marriage (in Nov.), after a difficult period. You may want to check out my article on planets at late degrees here: http://milkywayastrology.wordpress.com/2008/08/15/planets-in-late-degrees-what-do-they-mean/

Venus' motion is also part of the economic cycle; when she is retrograde she usually is not shopping. She closes up her purse and waits for value. This does not mean that you should close your purses, just be very choosy about the merchandise and the price. Have enough cash on hand in case your own planets get rough aspects from this transit.
Venus' romantic liaisons while retrograde can be quite interesting, but some find that the relationships do not endure past the time that Venus goes direct. (The exception is if you are reuniting or starting over again with each other.) It's nice while it lasts, tho.

There are many articles on Venus retrograde or on the Venus cycle online; just Google. I am enjoying this one at http://www.astrologycom.com/venusret.html He seems to think that the New Moon conjunct Spica may outweigh any negatives of the phase.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Libra New Moon lights up your solar seventh house of partners this week. Relationships may demand some actual work to make them succeed, but that is a pleasurable duty, Aries. Perhaps a local church or community center holds marriage enrichment courses. The Mars-Venus conjunction is in your solar eighth house of estates and insurance. This hardly sounds romantic, however it also rules sex and procreation; so if you had plans to expand your family, this is pretty auspicious for that.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Mars-Venus conjunction is in your solar seventh house of partners. And what lovely creature have you been eying from across a crowded room?? You may want to get something started but it will be difficult when Venus goes retrograde Friday. He or she may go out of town or be otherwise unavailable for a while. The Libra New Moon is promising a serious relationship, but Saturn there says slow down, not so fast. There is also a chance that the person is somewhat older than you. Best days have the Moon in compatible Virgo, Monday evening thru Wednesday afternoon. A lunch date on Tuesday can be very romantic.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – You will just love this New Moon in Libra activating your solar fifth house of romance. Saturn there may indicate formalizing things with an engagement or wedding. You insist on a mental connection with anyone you date, and this NM will accent that area big time. You will be two chatterboxes. The Mars-Venus conjunction in your solar sixth house of everyday work is troubling. See Aquarius' notes because he has it in the tenth. Workplace romances are sticky messes these days, and you will have to be doubly aware of ethical guidelines in such matters. Do not tease clients, since the wrong word may fuel a mistaken idea that you are interested in someone personally. Just don't.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Libra New Moon challenges you from your solar fourth house of home and family. Saturn there can indicate both the taking on of a mortgage or the move to a new place. The Mars-Venus conjunction in Scorpio trines your Sun from your solar fifth house of romance. Either you or a child of yours may fall in love in a big romance. Be prepared for the angst of separation since Venus soon goes retrograde on Friday. Have the hankies and chicken soup ready. Best days this week have the Moon in compatible Scorpio Friday through the weekend. Schedule a romantic lunch Saturday, possibly somewhere with a view of water.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The week begins with the Moon in Leo and stays till Monday afternoon. The Moon sextiles Sun-Saturn in Libra very early Sunday, when you might rise early to begin a new exercise regimen (and probably to good results, too). A Moon square to Venus-Mars in Scorpio at midday does not favor a date for lunch; Tues. or Sat. are much much better. It does favor martial arts or sports. Mars-Venus conjunction Scorpio will square any natal planets at 13 degrees about 6 pm. Sunday; could be very sexy but competitiveness might spoil a lovely meeting. Use caution all day Monday; the morning Moon-Neptune opposition can be idealistic to the point where you fall for a scammer.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 4 pm Monday till Wednesday afternoon. A Moon-Pluto trine (and Mercury square Pluto later that night) help you ferret out the truth about someone's motivations or past. No mysteries to unravel? Then unwind with a novel. The Moon sextiles Venus-Mars in your solar third house of siblings and local attractions; you may meet someone fascinating at a bookstore. You rarely overdo, but under Jupiter's rays you just might, to your own detriment, on Wed. morn.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 3:52 pm Wednesday till Friday afternoon. See notes on the New Moon Thursday above. The Moon first joins Mercury and Saturn early Thursday; your interest in scientific matters increases, or you finally summon the discipline (Saturn) to begin that novel. This all carries over to early Friday. The accent is on your solar sixth house of health mid-morning Friday, when an unusual treatment helps turn things around. A sextile to Ceres in Sag mid-afternoon Friday helps you locate a wonderful organic grocery.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Wow, not only does Mars and Venus have a conjunction in your sign on Sunday afternoon, those two are later joined by the Moon on Saturday afternoon and evening. (Moon-Mars at 1:35 pm; Moon-Venus at 8:06 pm) Your feelings will need sorting out that day, and you might benefit from journaling or from expressing yourself in dance or music. The Moon is in Scorpio from 3:52 pm Friday till next Sunday evening. Looking ahead to next Sunday, it might be best to stay in and express your artistic feelings. The Moon squares Neptune, not ideal for smart shopping, but better for listening to music, dancing, painting, writing poetry.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – A heavy emphasis on your solar eleventh house of friends this week, as a New Moon occurs there, and Mercury enters Libra on Sunday. The NM may signify a new project with your club, or possibly taking an officer position. With the Mercury ingress there, I suspect it may be Secretary, or Editor of the newsletter. Mercury squares Pluto early Tuesday; an overhaul of the newsletter may be in order, or a financial audit. The Moon joins Mercury and Saturn in Libra on Thursday and Friday; you are finally emotionally ready to accept discipline in order to reach your goals.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Libra New Moon accents your solar tenth house of career. Saturn, Mercury and Vesta there can all indicate a great deal of energy whirling around your career, with Saturn in particular indicating a position of responsibility. Vesta may relate to careers in family or child related businesses, or to security systems. Pluto is contacted by Moon and Mercury on Monday night; legal decisions may arrive at a final verdict, likely one that supports your claim. On Wednesday night the Moon square your Pluto; you may come across as heavy-handed or harsh, but rescheduling a chat for Friday night gives you time to think of better ways of phrasing things.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Sunday morning's sextile from the Moon to Sun in Libra affects your spouse or partner. Watching the sun rise together over coffee and pastry makes a sweet memory for you both. A Libra New Moon favors new starts in your solar ninth house: higher education, law, publishing, religious matters. You might even combine two of those fields by writing a textbook! The Venus-Mars conjunction in your solar tenth house is rather troubling, tho. Workplace romances often stir up troubled waters, and you would be wise to check your company's ethics manual.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – It may frustrate you that the Mars-Venus conjunction this week is not in a relationship house. It is in your solar ninth house, where Scorpio watches over your spiritual development. You may feel a soul connection with someone special that you meet thru church or a legal matter, altho I cannot guarantee that things will develop from there. Ethical considerations may bar romantic entanglements with clients. The Libra New Moon is in a difficult placement for you to handle, in the awkward eighth house. Saturn there could indicate a death in the family, but just as likely is a denial of insurance benefits (also ruled by the eighth house).

Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 26 to Oct. 2, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

The Moon at 10 degrees Taurus opposes Venus in Scorpio at 1:25 pm Sunday. People with natal planets contacted may give in too easily, to your own detriment. Also you may be flattered by the attention of another, but not think about whether you actually like this person back. Yet your own hunger for attention and affection may cause you to get involved. People who are supposedly mature can stay in touch with their real needs and standards, instead of just accepting whatever is dumped in their laps. Moon in Taurus is exalted, BTW, so let's hope that Taurean practicality remains in charge. Stay in touch with your real values.

The Sun in Libra is conjunct Saturn at 8:42 pm Thursday, Sept. 30, at 7 degrees Libra. Saturn is exalted in Libra, but the Sun is considered weak there. Try to take a disciplined, even scientific (Saturn), approach to managing tasks today. You can accomplish much, partly out of a need to earn your self-esteem, but you can pad the 'done' list by giving yourself credit for getting out of bed. It's allowed.

Mercury is busy this week. He is inconjunct Neptune and Ceres in Aquarius on Oct. 1, opposes Jupiter on Friday evening, opposes Uranus Saturday morning. The Moon sextiles Mercury about an hour later. The inconjunct to Neptune helps you see how ideas are interrelated; distinctions may be false and you may be led astray by semantics. The opposition to Jupiter is far better for students, for philosophizing, for getting the word out.

Mercury will enter Libra next Sunday about midday. Mercury in Libra wants a mental connection with others. Mercury here is also rather good at finding the right words to say or write in any social situation. You may write about art or artistic subjects, and be an arbiter of popular taste. Stay tuned to next week's column for notes on that ingress. Its first aspect will be a square to Pluto in the wee hours of Tuesday.

NOTE ALSO that Venus will go retrograde next week, a retrograde that only occurs roughly once every two years. It will station at 13 degrees Scorpio, will retrograde till Nov. 18 at 27 Libra when it will station direct. People with natal planets on any of the degrees contacted by Venus' motion during those weeks are advised to 1) take notes on what is going on in their lives, and 2) make sure to have ample cash on hand in case of cash-flow problems.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - The Moon-Venus opposition on Sunday affects your money houses; you may be imposed upon to give a loan, or feel obligated to write a check to a 't charity even tho you really don't want to. Be discriminating as to where you put your money, and do so not just because someone flatters you into it. Thursday's Sun-Saturn conjunction in your solar seventh house of partners can stress your relationships. Your spouse may be absent because he is beavering away on a project somewhere. Just be the supportive homebody, the anchor to his life.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The week starts in Taurus, where it stays till the wee hours Tuesday. You may wake up early Sunday and decide to just get an unpleasant chore out of the way so you can enjoy the rest of the day. Saturn lends its disciplined rays to help, and the Moon opposite Mars helps fuel your bod to do a tough job. A Moon-Venus opposition in the afternoon encourages you to baby yourself, even tho you think you are too tough to need it. The Moon squares Neptune during the Monday morning commute, so keep alert to traffic lights. A Moon-Jupiter sextile Monday evening favors a visit with a Pisces friend; lots of laughs ensue. Thursday's Sun-Saturn conjunction in Libra affects your sixth house of health; the message is to stick to your diet or exercise regimen for your health's sake.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 2:10 am Tuesday till Thursday morning. Air signs should be ideating like mad Tuesday afternoon, but try not to play critic just yet. Geminis can get quite creative when the Moon is inconjunct Mars and Venus in your sixth house of health and work late Tuesday; maybe you create your own dance routine to a fave CD, or adapt a sales pitch for work. Moon square Mercury Wednesday morning can have you talking past your prospect instead of at him; spend a little more time listening first before starting your pitch.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer from 9:46 am Thursday till Saturday afternoon. The Sun-Saturn conjunction squares the Moon (and your natal planets), and squares Pluto, Thursday afternoon; you could get pretty frustrated with family and spouse. This is a trying time and you may need a family counselor to get you through this. Things may be easier to resolve Friday morn, when the Moon trines Mars and Venus, helping you express your love no matter what. The Moon trines Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces Saturday, giving you a better philosophical insight into the situation, and helping you take a larger view.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Thursday's Sun-Saturn conjunction can help you plow thru lots of tasks; you might blog about it as you go, to keep you honest and motivated to finish. The Moon is in Leo from 2:21 pm Saturday thru the rest of the weekend. The Moon inconjunct Pluto that afternoon makes you wish you had more control over your life/yourself/your world. Well, you can only begin with yourself; check out ctinnerchild.com for amazing stuff on reprogramming yourself to achieve more and overcome self-sabotage.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - The Moon-Venus opposition on Sunday affects your third and ninth houses. Your niece-nephew may flatter you into helping with their college expenses, but this may be the time to say no. Or you might reasonably demand free professional services after he's graduated; I think that's fair. Best day may be Monday, when your Mercury is trined by Moon in Taurus early; a breakfast meeting can be quite productive and produce usable ideas. Thursday's Sun-Saturn conjunction in your second house may signal new determination to save money and cut the budget.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon-Venus opposition on Sunday affects your money houses; you may be imposed upon to give a loan, or feel obligated to write a check to a 't charity even tho you really don't want to. Be discriminating as to where you put your money, and do so not just because someone flatters you into it. The Sun in Libra is conjunct Saturn on Thursday evening, at 7 degrees Libra.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Moon in Taurus opposes Venus in your sign on Sunday. You might be a bit too tender-hearted for your own good, yes, you, tough, crusty ol' Scorpio. You may be flattered by someone, or give in too easily when you need to stand up for values (Venus) and family feeling. If you can figure a way to combine that with your great generosity, good. Write up a repayment schedule for that loan to your dear boy; forgive a slight but insist on an apology. Thursday's Sun-Saturn conjunction in your twelfth house may signal that you push yourself too hard; pace yourself or organize a work crew to get it done.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - The Moon-Venus opposition on Sunday affects your sixth and twelfth houses; you may visit sick relatives (Moon) in the hospital or take a loved one to the clinic. Express your feeling side; cheer up those who are shut-in, because no one is a better than you. Thursday's Sun-Saturn conjunction in your eleventh house can help you get a lot done, especially if you team up with a friend to get each other's chore done. Your weekend really begins, tho, when Moon enters fire-sign Aries Saturday afternoon; get some people together for a pickup game.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - Best day is probably Sunday, when the high-energy Moon-Mars opposition helps you gets a physically demanding job done. The Moon-Venus opposition on Sunday affects your fifth and eleventh houses; friends may ask favors that you are not inclined to grant but you may give in too easily. Thursday's Sun-Saturn conjunction in your tenth house of career can really keep your nose to the grindstone at work; your hard work is not likely to go unnoticed.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - The Moon-Venus opposition on Sunday affects your fourth and tenth houses; family and career demands may put you in a bind. You will probably pass up that promotion in order to spend time with family, but think carefully if there isn't some way to combine trips or whatever to meet all your obligations. Thursday's Sun-Saturn conjunction in your ninth house helps you devise and maintain a plan to get that novel written, or the college course studied for.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - The Moon-Venus opposition on Sunday affects your third-ninth houses. It is possible you will be prevailed upon to loan a car to someone, or possibly chip in on a sibling's tuition. Well, OK, but you have a right to demand professional services for free once they've graduated. Thursday's Sun-Saturn conjunction in your eighth house may highlight issues related to insurance and wills. Saturn's presence could signal a death in the family, but more likely you will make a decision about insurance.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 19-25, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Hey, for a fun look at rating the strength of your natal Mars, check out Donna Cunningham's cool article at http://skywriter.wordpress.com/2010/09/08/how-strong-is-your-mars-here%E2%80%99s-the-score/

The Sun at 26 degrees Virgo is inconjunct Neptune in Aquarius on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 9:43 am. Time to reassess your illusions, some of which may have more than a grain of truth at the core! Virgo can be overly focused on eliminating items from consideration just because of some surface flaw, but Neptune represents the unwanted, discarded, damaged, even slandered among people and objects. You may have to learn one way or another that a Neptunian item/person may be among your most valuable possessions/friends.

The Sun at 28 degrees Virgo opposes Jupiter and then Uranus in Pisces on Tuesday. We may not be comfortable with those of differing religions (Jupiter) or of foreign origin (Uranus). But this is a burning issue in the U.S. right now as Christian religious leaders act to counter a growing Islamophobia. Try to make a point of learning something about things outside your comfort zone, or try talking to someone from another country or of another religion. One of my fond memories of college life was that we had people in our lunch group from many countries and cultures.

The Sun enters gracious Libra at 11:09 pm Wednesday; Sept. 22 also marks the autumnal equinox. Saturn is in Libra at present, but rather than being a downer, it is well to remember that Saturn is EXALTED in Libra. What does that mean, anyway? Well, if you do not know, you will likely find out by the time this transit is over, as we all will. But Saturn in the sign of the scales represent true justice, the idealized justice that laws can only approximate.

You might find it helpful to read this excerpt from another blog entry by Gryphon Astrology:
Saturn and Ma'at at the Autumn Equinox (from Gryphon Astrology)
It is said that the planets are exalted in the signs they governed at the beginning of the world. As a result, we can learn something about the profound, hidden nature of each planet by understanding its role in the sign of its exaltation. The sign of Libra, which is the sign ruling the fall equinox, is the exaltation of the planet Saturn. Saturn is the pass-not of the planetary spheres; it represents time, death, and the inevitable decay of physical things. As such, it is the most appropriate planet for the West direction, where the dead go.
As a symbol of the inevitable laws governing our existence, Saturn has some similarity to the Egyptian goddess Ma’at. She was the goddess (or really, more like an abstract concept personified) of order and justice, who had come into being along with creation, which gives us a hint as to her true Saturnian nature. Since the moment a being is born, its very material existence guarantees its eventual demise, and Ma’at is there from the start. She was the goddess associated with the feather against which a dead person's heart was weighed after death. The fact that her counterweight is a feather, which anything made of gross matter must outweigh, implies that material creation can never “win” against the Saturnian restrictions of death and time. Like a feather, death and time are infinitely light, intangible and yet completely impassable from the material perspective.
Given Ma’at and Saturn's association with the scales, we see here a natural connection to the Scales of Libra, the sign that the Sun enters at the fall equinox. This is the sign where the Sun is in fall, as opposed to its exaltation in Aries. The fall equinox thus marks the halfway point on the descending axis between the complete light of the summer solstice and the complete darkness of the winter solstice.
The fall equinox is the perfect time to meditate on the distinctions between that which is ephemeral, and that which endures. From an Eastern perspective, because we live in a material world, we are surrounded by the great illusion of Maya. All things discernible by the senses must eventually pass into the West. Focusing on those things which endure trains our sights toward its opposite, in the East and the spring equinox, the place of eternal hope, as contrasted to the West, the place of eternal endings. [from http://www.gryphonastrology.com/fallequinox.html]

So it might be well to comb through every drawer and bin in your home, and toss out or give away whatever you have no further use for. It is hard to give up THINGS, but try to look upon it as sharing them with a new owner. List items on freecycle, craigslist, or PaperbackSwap. I have been doing that these past several weeks, while preparing for a move the end of August. I gave away a couple silk trees (but kept a live plant), some Tyco beanies, tons of books -- and then, wouldn't you know it, I lost still more stuff in a smoky apartment fire. That hurt, but I realize that it is probably for the best, long term. (And there you have another Mercury retrograde story.)
The Moon in Pisces is conjunct Jupiter and Uranus overnight Wed-Thurs. Actually, it is conjunct Jupiter at 1:06 am Thur., and conjunct Uranus at 1:52 am Thurs. Those with major contacts to this transit can have great energy and radiance, and sweep others along with their vision. However, don't go shopping; everything will probably look so wonderful and you will want six of everything. You can get yourself in a deep hole with the credit card, especially if shopping online (Uranus).

The Full Moon this month is at ZERO degrees Aries, at 4:47 am Thursday. This degree is known as the Aries Point. “When planets fall on the Aries Point, a position that connects the personal to the collective, we are reminded that what happens to the individual impacts the world and what happens in the world impacts the individual.” In other words, think globally, act locally. A first-degree Aries person or company is going to be a real mover and shaker, getting people on board for projects and team efforts. They will knock on doors and ask a hundred people if they need just ten to get something going.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 4:47 am Thursday till Saturday afternoon. The Full Moon in your sign signals new beginnings, but Saturn opposed and Pluto squared will frustrate you. Accept guidelines and assignments by focusing on how you can do them right the first time. Guard your health and your energy; you may have to alter your regimen around work demands. A Moon-Mercury inconjunct mid-morning on Friday favors updating emails or message systems. Got to keep up with the times. A Moon-Neptune sextile about 9 am Saturday favors a swim or art pursuits. Perhaps you pull out the camera to capture a lovely early fall scene.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Libra is a problematic sign for you because it is inconjunct; you may enjoy creative fall crafts but not be sure how to handle people stressed out by the T-square transit. The Moon enters Taurus at 4:17 pm Saturday, in time for starting a wonderfully indulgent dinner for the family. Complete with dessert, of course. (It remains thru the weekend till very late Monday.) The Moon trines Pluto in Capricorn and is inconjunct Sun in Libra late Saturday night. You may win a concession from your spouse, perhaps by lulling him first into a food-induced pleasure zone. Be at your creative best and who knows what may ensue.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Sunday morning's Sun in Virgo is inconjunct Neptune in Aquarius; homelife may become chaotic in spite of your best efforts. Long flights are not favored Monday morning when a Moon-Neptune conjunction occurs in your solar ninth house. Am guessing probably delays due to mysterious warning lights. Stay alert on your commute, too. You do get a lot done that evening if working late; Pluto and Mars put you in the drivers' seat in sales calls. Business may become mixed with pleasure Tuesday morn; but don't forget your company's ethical guidelines. The Sun opposition to Jupiter and Uranus affects your career/home axis. A great opportunity could fall in your lap, but you wonder about the strain on your family.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Cancerians find the week stressful with another round of aspects to hard planets on Thurs. and Sat. And on top of everything, everyone comes to you to cry on your shoulder. Keep the tissues and the chicken soup handy. The Moon squares Pluto and opposes Saturn on Thurs., affecting your solar tenth and fourth houses (career and home/family). Hope you will not be caught up in the developing second round of foreclosures in this country. Perhaps your company can buy the property to use as a guest accommodation for visitors, or as an executive perk. On Sat. night, the Sun squares Pluto, reinforcing the fears of Thurs. Push may come to shove. You might make hard decisions about what to keep and what to ditch in another move.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Sun enters Libra, your solar third house of communications, transit, school, and local politics. You can enter the spotlight, you can create exquisite invites to your house parties, you can even run for school board -- since Leos are often deeply child-oriented. Juno is currently in Leo, and trines Ceres (parenting) in Sag, your solar fifth house; that combo only reinforces the theme of children and creative pursuits. Go for it.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Virgo detests excess, yet the Sun opposition to Jupiter (and Uranus) on Tuesday, followed by the Moon in Virgo opposition to Jupiter (and Uranus) Thurs-Fri will find out whether you really mean that. You might be truly embarrassed with riches and quite suddenly, too. Do you have anything at 28 degrees of any mutable sign (Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, Sag)? Your careful tracking of winning lottery numbers might pay off. However, note that the Sun in Libra, your second house of money, is square Pluto in Capricorn, your fifth house of gambles. Pluto has been known to wipe out all one's gains. So if you hit a hot streak at the blackjack table, get out while you have a profit.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – OK, take a deep breath. Saturn is in your sign, you know that. But Saturn is EXALTED in your sign, comprende? You stand to benefit from a return to true justice and ideals. Enough laws have been interpreted to benefit those who already have much; now it is time to re-balance the equation. Having said that, what can you contribute to the national discussion of values and law in this society? You will be pressed for some answers probably Wed-Thurs and on Saturday. Be prepared.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – On Monday, watery Moon joins liquid Neptune about 9 am in Aquarius, your solar fourth house of home. Make sure the tap is turned off and plumbing leaks attended to. A friend, child, or romantic partner may reap a windfall midweek under the conjunction/oppositions to Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces. Perhaps you might have a friend buy a ticket for you, or just reap a celebratory drink or dinner from same. A secret hideaway might not be secret anymore; do not take chances with leaking your secret this week. On Thursday, the Moon in Aries, your solar house of health, is inconjunct mars in Scorpio. You may have to alter your regimen, possibly under doc's orders but maybe just because you need a change.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – A Pisces family member may be quite lucky this week; celebrate with them, but urge them to put something away for emergencies. You and Leo are allies this week, since Ceres in your sign trines Juno in Leo Sept. 26. Help a child with homework, or offer to babysit for grandchildren. You might even get more involved in local school board issues. On Wed., the Sun enters Libra, your solar eleventh house. You may be intrigued by a new acquaintance, or challenged/mentored by a club officer. The middle part of the week is also marked by the Sun opposing/ Moon joining the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Pisces. This is on your solar tenth-fourth house axis of career vs. home/family. You will be torn if a great job offer parts you from your family, even for a short time.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – You, too, are affected (ie stressed) by the presence of Pluto in your sign squared by Saturn in Libra. This will be aggravated midweek by the Sun entering Libra late Wed., and the Sun squaring Pluto on Sat. night. You will focus on a person (possibly a boss) as the source of your aggravation, but this is only a projection; the real war is within yourself. Perhaps you resent any authority above yourself, but that is something we all have to deal with; either be your own boss or get with the program. Ultimately, you can only be the boss of you. And ultimately one's true authority comes from God not money or position, so ponder that for a while as you pay your parking ticket.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius as the week begins, till Monday afternoon. The Moon is conjunct Neptune about 9 am, making you miss your off-ramp during the commute because you are daydreaming. The Moon goes void of course at that time, altho it also makes a minor(?) inconjunct aspect to the Sun in Virgo at 11:18 am. Ignore the boss' threat to fire you for being late; any threats will not be followed thru on. That does not mean you won't have to swear it won't happen again. Resolve to live up to a Virgo ideal of on time, all the time, and with the answers at your fingertips.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 4:15 pm Monday till early Thursday. The Moon sextiles Pluto and trines Mars Monday night; you will find it easier to take responsibility for your health in general. Talk to those pesky germs and tell them to stop making you sick. A Moon inconjunct Saturn early Tuesday affects your feelings about Duty; try to figure out a way of making a game of chores. A trine to Venus toward mid-morning brings a sweet colleague to share break time; it can also signify a cash settlement of a legal matter or an advance on your new book. Avoid speeches that afternoon; a Moon-Mercury opposition can muddle how your comments are heard or interpreted. Excess rules the day Wed-Thur. when the Moon in your sign joins Jupiter and Uranus late.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 5-11, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

[WELL! The joke's on me! I posted the wrong forecast for Sept. 5-11. It was really for the following week, Sept. 12-18. I have corrected the headline on that one, and added a note. Now for the real forecast for Sept. 5-11, presented in its entirety below.]

We have a New Moon at 15 degrees, 41 minutes Virgo, at 6:30 am on Wed., Sept. 8. This is preceded by a Moon-Mercury conjunction, where emotional habits and memories rule. It is followed by the Venus ingress into Scorpio, and then by her inconjunct to Jupiter in Aries. I take this to mean that some of us can learn to apply philosophical (Jupiter) values (Venus) into our everyday lives. We may have to do a little mental stretching to get our heads around a concept, but that is what growth is.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon in fire-sign Leo in your solar fifth house of dates sextiles Mars in Libra, your house of partners. Perhaps a sporting event would be a great date with your significant other. Venus in Scorpio is inconjunct Jupiter in your sign on Wednesday afternoon; there is possibly an alteration in a will affecting you, but more likely the insurance company will make an adjustment. NOTE: Jupiter retrogrades out of Aries and into Pisces overnight Sept. 8-9. Do not worry if promises go unfulfilled just now; Jove returns to your sign early next year; have faith but be patient.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The New Moon is in your solar fifth house of romance and the arts. Start over if you've been working on some gal or guy; learning the different communication styles of men and women could be key to your future romantic success. Be brave enough to talk about what you value and what your personal philosophy is. A Moon-Venus sextile early Tuesday offers growth opportunities in regards to converting a hobby to an income source. In fact, with the help of a friend, you might luck onto a bit of serendipity, an insight, or even a windfall with an aspect to Uranus later that morn. Jupiter enters Pisces, your solar eleventh house of friends and groups. Cultivate friendships and seek out like-minded folks; it doesn't have to cost anything much. Try meetups.com for local groups and lectures.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The New Moon in Virgo accents your solar fourth house of home and family. It's interesting that Jupiter enters Pisces within 24 hours, powering the opposite house (tenth of career). Possibly there is conflict about your dual roles as careerist and homemaker, or possibly an opportunity opens up to have a home office or home business. This is followed by the Moon in Virgo opposition to Uranus and Jupiter early Thursday. So You are going to have to be your most adaptable to changes in your life, and if you can do that, the rewards will be pretty amazing. A Moon-Saturn conjunction in airy Libra trines your natal planets midday Thursday; again, reinforcing your ambition and discipline. The path may look hard, but you are able to fly above it anyway. A Mars-Neptune trine in the other air signs will make a grand air trine with your natal planets; great for dancing but also for ideals. Perhaps starting your own little Joy Luck Club will help you and friends focus on positive thoughts.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer as the week begins, till it enters Leo at 5:45 am Sept. 5. The Moon trines Uranus in Pisces at 4:31 am; hmmm, sounds like a fun date to watch the sunrise together with coffee and scones. Uranus rules humor, the unusual, technology, machines, foreigners, and the Christ principle, etc. Perhaps a breakfast prayer meeting with travelers from all over would be greatly appreciated. Venus in compatible Scorpio is inconjunct Jupiter in Aries on Wednesday afternoon; a beloved daughter manages to borrow your power suit for an important job interview or meeting. A New Moon Wednesday accents your solar third house of communications, transit (car or commuting in general), relatives, networking and local politics. Try meetups.com if you have not been able to link up with people interested in what you are interested in.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from early Sunday, Sept. 5 till Tuesday morning. A Moon-Jupiter trine early Sunday puts you in an expansive mood; perhaps an early trek to view the sunrise is inspiring. Midday may be productively spent on chores. Monday finds you energetic and enthusiastic under a Moon-Mars sextile; you may even have enough energy to burn after work on a friendly game. Charm is the word for getting Tuesday off right. The Moon-Mercury conjunction Tuesday afternoon may bring lots of contact and possible promises, but take them with a grain of salt. The New Moon in Virgo on Wednesday accents your second house of money. About time, I hear you say. Yes, I know. VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 5:53 am Tuesday, Sept. 7 till Thursday morning. The New Moon early Wednesday looks sunny and prosperous but you may have to make adaptations to current demand. You are multi-talented, t hough, and I expect you will do quite well this period. Jupiter re-enters your opposite sign late Wed., your partner may be more generous with you and that includes being forgiving. The Moon in Virgo opposes Jupiter and Uranus early Thursday; you are inclined to give your mate a lot of leeway, but overlooking his minor flaws is a lot better than getting hung up on stuff that doesn't really matter.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 5:01 am Thursday, Sept. 9 till Saturday morning. Thursday morn is a bit frustrating under a Moon-Pluto square; stop feeling sorry for yourself and just get chores out of the way. Thursday night is meant for dancing; get those dancing shoes out of storage. On Friday you really enjoy cooking a magnificent dinner under a Moon-Ceres sextile. Moon-Mars in Libra trine Chiron at 27 degrees, 33 minutes of Aquarius late Friday or wee hours of Sat.; Cupid could strike you down with his arrow, as you and that Someone realize you were meant for each other.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - The New Moon in Virgo early Wednesday accents your eleventh solar house of friends and groups; make sure to keep your networking active. On Wednesday afternoon, Venus in your sign is inconjunct Jupiter in Scorpio; you may suddenly realize that the lovely girl you've seen around is the right one for you. Ask her out dancing that night; Neptune obliges. The Moon is in Scorpio from 5:21 am Sat., Sept. 11 thru the weekend. A Moon-Venus conjunction Saturday morn will put clouds of love under your feet. You are especially charming to all. The Moon sextiles Pluto mid-morning. You find little ways of empowering yourself. A Moon-Mercury sextile opens up lines of communication with choosy friends.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The New Moon in Virgo Wednesday squares your natal planets from your solar tenth house of career; accent is on career, and supporting aspects from Venus and Jupiter accent your creativity and charm. The New Moon in Virgo Wednesday accents your solar eighth house of wills, estates, insurance and other pooled funds. A call to your local insurance agent or lawyer may clear up whatever issues have been nagging you. Mars in Libra trines Neptune in Aquarius late Thursday; you could fool yourself into doing something foolish, but it might be best to discuss or read about ideals instead. Just read, and ponder. Wait a bit to see how things settle out.
