Your Milky Way Horoscope Nov. 7-13, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Neptune goes direct on Sun., Nov. 7 at 1:04 am at 25 degrees, 55 minutes of Aquarius. BTW Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 am, so I wonder if there will be some more glitches than normal this year, when people and computers neglect to turn their clocks back.
Venus enters her second home, Libra, at 10:06 pm Sun., Nov. 7. The evening debut allows her to put on one her most striking gowns, complete with starry jewels for her ears and fingers. By all means, welcome Venus to her sign with a lighted candle, pink anything, and someone to cuddle up with tonight. Venus here is so darn nice that others suspect they are being phony or superficial. THEY'RE NOT!! They really ARE that nice! Tho the frustrations of the day can boil over when they get home and then they might take things out on mate or whoever is unlucky enough to get in their way. They definitely need a safe place to vent their 'stuff', possibly with boxing gloves and punching bag, or maybe just kicking a pillow, or tossing a ball at the garage wall. Whatever works for ya, Libby, just don't let stuff fester. To fester is bad, very bad.
Now, a Libra woman's worst habit is giving in just to keep the peace. Going along with whatever others want to order on a pizza, or giving up a part of yourself because you think it takes time away from your relationship is exactly the WRONG thing to do, especially in relationships. The guy wants to know what you are passionate about, and giving in all the time, or abandoning hobbies that you love, make you less of a person worth loving. So thin twice about this stuff, and find more creative ways of compromising. Take turns ordering the pizza toppings, or try to get your friend interested in your hobby (at least long enough to listen to you rave on about how marvelous it is for you), and then see what happens.
Venus gets a helpful boost from the Moon (emotional support) Tuesday morning (sextile), and overnight Sat-Sun (trine), but NOT on Thursday afternoon when a square to the Moon makes you feel unloved and unwanted, you 'pore thang.'
Mercury enters Sagittarius at 6:43 pm Monday; your intellect seeks answers tho not necessarily in classrooms. You might want to travel or discuss things with people all over the world; with the internet, now the whole globe is at your fingertips. Mercury here is quick to point out biases or prejudices in others, but rather blind to his own biases. Be that as it may, he still loves to debate and is good at injecting some enthusiasm for intellectual jousting. Play devils advocate with him if you like, but do not expect him to concede any point to you.

[Yes, I skipped a regular week because I covered the holiday in a special column on Halloween costumes. That covered all the major aspects for the general period, though I apologize if you have been left disappointed by the absence of a column for Oct.31-Nov. 6. Again I am sorry, but I have just been floundering with so many other issues since the end of August, and I just need a tiny breather. Thank you for your understanding.]
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – On Sunday, Venus enters Libra, your solar seventh house of partners. Your partner looks better than ever to you, and you enjoy learning new ways to express how much he/she means to you. Mercury enters Sag, your solar ninth house of higher learning; the month looks good for making progress in school. The Moon's first aspect to Mercury is a sextile early Friday; you can ask a friend for information, or borrow a book from him.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – On Sunday, Venus enters Libra, your solar sixth house of health and mundane work. You can gain extra work from a hobby; try listing your crafts online or rent a booth at a holiday craft show. Your second job could offer overtime, too. Mercury enters Sag, your solar eighth house of pooled resources, insurance and estates. Re-submit insurance claims or put it thru an appeal process via your state insurance commissioner's office.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - On Sunday, Venus enters Libra, your solar fifth house of romance and creativity. Lucky you, that's the perfect place for Venus to help you get something going romance-wise. Get some tips tho before listing your personal ad online, from Rori Raye or other communications counselors. Mercury enters Sag, your solar seventh house of partners. You may become actively involved in social media, writing-writing-writing, or reporting. Your writing becomes more public, like getting a byline in a local paper, your own blog, doing interviews re your new book, etc. Radio is a wonder medium, too, for Geminis; check out creating your own internet radio show.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - On Sunday, Venus enters Libra, your solar fourth house of home and family. Venus here wants to beautify, maybe with a choice piece of art, maybe just with new pillows and drapes. Libra favors art tints, so see if there is something in turquoise or peach that can perk up your living space. Mercury enters Sag, your solar sixth house of health and also mundane work. You may be juggling extra jobs, possibly involving delivery or messenger service. Make sure your car is tuned up or you could run up more expenses for gas, etc. than the work is worth. Mercury in the sixth house can also bring nervousness; stick to your getting-ready-for-bed routine to encourage proper sleep. Resort to natural treatments like warm baths, supplemented with valerian, melatonin or with chamomile tea before bed.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - On Sunday, Venus enters Libra, your solar third house of communications, education, and siblings. Romance can blossom in a bookstore, office supply shop, online, from a newspaper personals ad. Get tips from an online counselor on what works in personal ads and replies before posting yours. Mercury enters Sag, your solar fifth house of romance and creativity. You may post a personal ad online and begin sorting thru many replies. If you are serious about this avenue of searching for a partner, discipline yourself with a speed dating program or you will be overwhelmed. Alternatively, you might explore a book club as a way of finding a kindred spirit. Also Mercury here favors the use of your hands in skilled crafts, and favors the sale of your creative works. Open a store on Etsy or place items on consignment.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - On Sunday, Venus enters Libra, your solar second house of money. This is lucky for sales, arts and crafts, music and other performing arts, especially if you work in partnership. Mercury enters Sag, your solar fourth house of home and family. You may host a young person in your home, possibly an exchange student or a child's pen-pal; look into adding a playroom or library. You might play host to a book or Bible study group, and that be a rewarding experience.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - Venus enters your sign Sunday, and the urge to find someone to share your life with becomes impossible to ignore. You also enjoy pampering yourself a bit, possibly at a day spa or your favorite salon. Mercury enters Sag, your solar third house of communications, so this is obviously a spot where Mercury is at home. Messages pick up in volume, whether via phone, email, text, or in other online mailboxes. You may field many more requests than usual for information or for an appointment.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Venus enters your twelfth house on Sunday, a placement that can mean you do yourself no favors with money, or eat too many sweets. Don't sabotage your diet yet again; read about strategies in new book, The Stress-Eating Cure: Lose Weight With The No Willpower Solution. Mercury enters Sag, your solar second house of money and possessions. This could favor selling, so look around for items that you can post on eBay or craigslist. It is possible you could earn money through your voice, so if you have talents at singing, interviewing, emceeing, or voiceover, seek an agent if you don't already have one.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from week's start till Tuesday morning. The Moon-Mars conjunction in Sag on Sunday afternoon fires up your passions, tho take care to avoid pointless argument. Definitely do something you love. Mercury enters your sign at 6:43 pm Monday; your intellect seeks answers tho not necessarily in classrooms. You might want to travel or discuss things with people all over the world; with the internet, now the whole globe is at your fingertips. Put up an inquiry and early replies may be unhelpful, probably on Thursday you may get some positive response.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 8:37 am Tuesday till Thursday afternoon. A Moon-Pluto conjunction Tuesday afternoon brings heavy-duty issues to the fore; things like what kind of legacy you want to leave behind to the world (a book, a life's work, your children), writing a will, etc. A Moon-Saturn square Wed. morn can make you feel inadequate or unimportant, but try to ignore that passing mood. Sextiles that evening and next morn are much more encouraging. Venus enters Libra in your solar tenth house, where you might be amply rewarded for career efforts this fall -- especially if you are in a Venus-ruled field like music, bakery, candy, banking, cattle, fine furniture and art, etc.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from 5:32 pm Thursday till next Sunday morn. The Moon sextiles Mercury, Mars and trines disciplined Saturn on Friday, helping you clear your desk of a pile of work. Your drive carries over to Saturday, but a Moon-Neptune square that night favors knocking off work in favor movie night instead. Make sure you give yourself proper fuel breaks Saturday so you don't get a sugar-deficit crash by evening. You may revive an old romance Sat. night, but be aware that it could go either way; you may patch things over, or you may remember why you broke up.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – On Sunday, Venus enters Libra, your solar eighth house of pooled resources, insurance and estates. Try resubmitting your receipts for reimbursement from your insurer; make followup inquiries re claims that have been denied or delayed pending verification. Mercury enters Sag, your solar tenth house on Monday night. The tempo picks up at work, with more inquiries and quote requests, and if you are seeking a position, you may land more contacts and interviews this month. Step up your efforts in all media and post multiples of your resume, ads, or other notices.

HALLOWEEN 2010 – Who will you dress up as?

By Milky Way Maid

Yet another in my continuing series of Halloween columns, in which I foolishly try to suggest costumes for the current holiday. A few famous names follow each sign below.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - Buddy Ebsen, Ann Miller – There is nothing in the sign Aries this year, but that does not mean you could not adopt a costume as a fiery Aries-type. How about Annie Oakley, Molly Brown (survivor of the Titanic), or Sacajawea? Leo is your fifth house sign, house of fun and parties, so dressing up as any of the famous Hollywood gods and goddesses may appeal to you. Yet another option presents itself in dressing as your alter-ego opposite sign Libra, which is experiencing a Saturn transit. See Libra paragraph for ideas along that line.

TAURUS
- April 20-May 20 - Fred Astaire, Margot Fonteyn, Shirley MacLaine, Audrey Hepburn – The Moon and Juno are in Virgo, your solar fifth house of fun and parties. Juno is the archetypal wife, especially the wronged wife. You may dress as a famous Mrs who happens to be in the news, perhaps Mrs. Obama who as First Lady is the most important national symbol of beauty and class in this country. The Moon represents all women in general, of course, but also any Hollywood goddess who has become a symbol of what femininity is supposed to be. How about Reese Witherspoon, or Charlize Theron? You may prefer someone from Hollywood's golden age, like Garbo, Dietrich, Monroe, or Mae West.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - Isadora Duncan, Bill “Bojangles” Robinson - Gemini – dress up as Siamese twins with your partner. Go as a reporter with a fake mike or notepad. Dress up as a letter of the alphabet. You get the idea. Then again, maybe your idea of fun is going to a writers' workshop and scribbling away all night. Saturn is still in the sign Libra (your solar fifth house of fun and parties), so the obvious selection of costume is first of all, the goddess Justice with blindfold and scales. This is especially appropriate because Saturn is exalted in Libra. Second, the Grim Reaper and Crone are also Saturn figures. Saturn also rules science, so this suggests dressing as figures from science, like Albert Einstein, Alfred Nobel, Madame Curie, etc.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - Gower Champion, Bob Fosse, Twyla Tharp – Cancers always tend to dress up as Mother Earth types. But this year Vesta as well as Sun, Mercury, and Venus are in Scorpio, in your solar fifth house of parties and fun. Vesta is the sense of privacy, so you may dress as the person in the shower with a curtain drawn. Vesta is the sacred Vestal Virgin, who keeps the flame alive in the temple. You might therefore carry a lamp, torch, or candle, or decorate your home (if you are hosting a party) with lots of candles. I also suggest a candle ceremony or ritual for all your guests to participate in, perhaps something to request a positive resolution of the challenges to the planet earth, or asking for a safe home for all those facing foreclosures, etc. and sending a ring of positive energy out towards the whole globe. Seek online for suggested rituals.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - Leonide Massine, Mata Hari – Leos, or Leo rising, have Sag in their solar fifth house of parties and fun. This year Pallas is there at 9 degrees of Sag. Pallas is quite an intriguing archetype, a strong and capable yet compassionate woman. You might dress up as any number of characters from history, such as Susan B Anthony, Boedicca, or as Pallas Athena herself in armor and Greek gown. You might go as archetypal characters or craftswomen like the weaver, or any of the Muses.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - Gene Kelly, Agnes deMille, Lola Falana, Mitzi Gaynor – The Moon and Juno are in Virgo this Halloween. Also you may check out your solar fifth house of fun and parties, Capricorn, where Ceres as well as Pluto are found. Ceres is the 'gardening angel' and the farmer. Or you may choose to just host a buffet for friends, relatives, and local children, and that is a great expression of this energy to provide a healthful alternative to candy etc for everyone.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - Rita Hayworth, Ben Vereen, Fayard Nicholas, Arthur Duncan, Juliet Prowse – Saturn is still in the sign Libra, so the obvious selection of costume is first of all, the goddess Justice with blindfold and scales. This is especially appropriate because Saturn is exalted in Libra. Second, the Grim Reaper and Crone are also Saturn figures. Saturn also rules science, so this suggests dressing as figures from science, like Albert Einstein, Alfred Nobel, Madame Curie, etc. In your solar fifth house of fun and parties is found Neptune, which suggests dressing as the drunk, the gambler, the prostitute, or a representation of any other vice. How about going as a lottery ticket?

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Eleanor Powell, Savion Glover, Anne Reinking – Vesta is in Scorpio this Halloween; Vesta as well as Sun, Mercury, and Venus are in Scorpio. Jupiter and Uranus are in Pisces, your solar fifth house of fun and parties; this suggests adopting a costume of a famous inventor (Uranus). Tom Edison, A G Bell, or George Washington Carver.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Hermes Pan, Sammy Davis, Jr., June Taylor – The asteroid Pallas Athena is in Sag this year. Alternatively, Aries is in your solar fifth house of fun and parties, so you might dress up as a fiery, pioneer type. How about Annie Oakley, Molly Brown (survivor of the Titanic), or Sacajawea?

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - George Balanchine, Moira Shearer, Debbie Allen, Gwen Verdon – Ceres and Pluto are in Capricorn this year. Ceres is the 'gardening angel' and the farmer. Or you may choose to just host a buffet for friends, relatives, and local children, and that is a great expression of this energy to provide a healthful alternative to candy etc for everyone. Pluto suggests costumes as underworld types, like Scarface, Al Capone, and the like. Your solar fifth house of fun and parties is Taurus, which receives no transits but is always up for a party. You may dress up as a musician or actually perform for the other guests. How about dressing as Amadeus Mozart, Franz Lizst, a Beatle, one of the Kiss members, or as a musical instrument?

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - Mikhail Baryshnikov, Gregory Hines – Neptune is in your sign this year, as it will be for some time. Neptune suggests dressing as the drunk, the gambler, the bootlegger, the prostitute, or a representation of any other vice. How about going as a lottery ticket? Alternatively, you may choose a character based on your solar fifth house (which rules fun and parties) sign Gemini. Gemini – dress up as Siamese twins with your partner. Go as a reporter with a fake mike or notepad. Dress up as a letter of the alphabet. You get the idea. Then again, maybe your idea of fun is going to a writers' workshop and scribbling away all night.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - Tommy Tune, Cyd Charisse, Rudolf Nureyev – Jupiter and Uranus are in Pisces this year. this suggests adopting a costume of a famous inventor (Uranus). Tom Edison, A G Bell, or George Washington Carver. Alternatively, you may elect to dress as an alter ego (seventh house) personage. That means Virgo, and this year both the Moon and Juno are transiting.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Oct. 24-30, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Sunday, Oct. 24 features Mars at 27 degrees of Scorpio, trine Uranus in Pisces
at 10:56 am. Mars-Uranus aspects favor mechanical objects, so this could be a good day to buy anything from a car, to an appliance (especially if it has sharp cutting edges), or possibly some type of sporting or exercise equipment. Uranus is still very close to Jupiter, and Jove sextiles the Moon in Taurus that evening. I'm always a little leery of Jupiter if one is buying something, because it could be far more expensive than you bargained for; so by all means carefully consider whether you get your money's worth on a given item. You may be better off renting a piece of equipment, buying used, or offering to rent or swap with a neighbor or relative.

Mercury and Venus rendezvous for a passionate meetup at 7 degrees of Scorpio at 9:17 am Monday. This aspect is a key part of the economic cycle so investors should pay particular attention to the economic news over the weekend and on Monday. Due to the fact that this occurs in Scorpio, and the fact that Venus is still retrograde, it is likely that sales of distressed or overstock merchandise is likely to move faster than regular merchandise. On a personal level, it may become easier to express your affection with loved ones. Scorpio is often silent, but this is one time that speaking up about one's feelings may be an absolute necessity if one's relationship is to survive these tough times.

The Sun and Venus warm up the passions at 5 degrees Scorpio at 9:10 pm on Thursday. You might even succeed at rekindling an old flame. Who's your sugar daddy? Scorpio, contrary to its popular image as a Lothario, is really a very dedicated romantic partner. It is a fixed sign after all, and Scorpio's spiritual depth often translates as a long-lived relationship that deepens over time. When Scorpio wants you, he wants all of you and he wants you forever.

Mars enters compatible fire-sign Sagittarius at 2:48 am Thursday, Oct. 28. Mars here is rather strong and very interested in major league sports, plus horseback riding, fencing, and skiing.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Your ruler Mars enters fellow fire-sign Sag at 2:48 am Thursday, Oct. 28. Mars in your solar ninth house is good for major-league sports performance; however it may be problematical in other ninth-house stuff like legal disputes, lots of fees or debt in relation to college expenses, etc. Mars is excellent for debate and competition, so if there are favorable Mercury transits to your natal planets, by all means try your luck. The Sun-Venus conjunction (also on Thursday) is in your solar eighth house of sex, lucky you.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The week of the 24th starts with Moon in Taurus, and remains till Monday morning. A Moon-Neptune square Sunday night may lure you into a movie marathon; you just want to cocoon with your DVDs and the popcorn. Monday morning larks enjoy a Moon-Uranus sextile, which offers insights and humorous surprises, and a Moon-Mars opposition, which means that arguments go nowhere, so try to think if it is worth it. The Monday and Thursday conjunctions in Scorpio, in your solar seventh house, put the accent on romantic relationships; a sextile to Pluto can add depth and mystery. A mystery that you'd be willing to spend the rest of your life unraveling.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 7:47 am Monday till Wednesday afternoon. A whole lot of inconjuncts demand a mental readjustment from you. The Moon makes this aspect to the Sun, Pluto with Ceres nearby, Venus, and Mars. It Moon is actually the focus of a Yod aspect, with Pluto and the personal planets on the other legs. Things may be fated, but you can show how to overcome even the highest odds against you. Also creativity is king today. Tuesday is much easier, with a Moon-Saturn trine in early am to help you knock off your to-do list. Wednesday starts off with a Moon-Neptune trine; ideal for starting the day with a pre-work swim. Be careful to stick to your usual breakfast, as unfamiliar foods could upset your system. A Moon-Uranus square at mid-morning can be upsetting, but there is the chance of a flash of insight putting everything in a new light.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer (its home) from 3:14 pm Wednesday till Friday evening. The Moon opposes Pluto in Capricorn Wednesday evening; you run into a wall of opposition to anything you propose. Wait till the Moon-Sun trine about 11:35 pm, you will find a kindred soul if not material support. The wee hours of Thursday start off with a Moon-Venus trine, then a Moon-Mercury trine in the afternoon. They're in your solar fifth house of fun, children, romance, and games. This favors everything from playing a word games, writing, teaching youngsters, or catching up on reading. The Sun-Venus conjunction at 9:10 pm Thursday warms up the romance department so set up a late date.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Mars enters compatible Sag early Thursday. Your interest in sports is accented, whether as a spectator or player. Make a point to round up some friends for a regular pickup game at least to early December, because your energies will demand a release somewhere. The Moon is in Leo from 8:39 pm Friday till next Sunday night. A Moon-Mars trine late Friday favors attending a sporting event or a pickup game of your own. The Leo Moon squares all the Scorpio planets in turn on Saturday, which will probably make for a frustrating weekend. You will feel like no one loves you, no one knows your name, no one calls you. Consulting with a mentor or older sibling that afternoon will be helpful.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Mars enters Sag early Thursday, in your solar fourth house. This can be problematical; Mars here can lead to arguments and even fires. Place a mirror over fireplaces to cool this feng shui element; place a symbolic piece of wood between stoves and sinks if they are adjacent. There is the possibility that you might host a male visitor, and in that case make a careful analysis of yours and the visitor's charts ahead of time. The Sun, Mercury and Venus make conjunctions this week in your solar third house of communications; you could possibly get paid for an article or report, or for teaching. Promote yourself as a facilitator of workshops or lectures on your specialty.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Sun, Mercury and Venus make conjunctions this week in Scorpio, your solar second house. This can be quite profitable to you, if you are able to time things favorably. Your sales can pick up this week, so put out special promotions; never mind the print ads that have to be bought weeks in advance, just put out a sign board for passersby, or notices on craigslist.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Sun, Mercury and Venus make conjunctions in your sign this week, Scorp, so look sharp and have your spiel ready. Scorpio is not really a natural salesperson, but you gain the gift of gab this week with Mercury's help, and can find the right words for each customer. Put up notices of what you have to sell, on a signboard or on craigslist, and see what happens. Work a local show to good profits, or consign your items to local shops. Sales are out there, Scorp, and you price your stuff fairly.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Mars enters your sign on Thursday, Sag. See notes about that above. Mars here is very comfortable, very energetic, and you will be looking for places to burn off your ample energies till at least early December. Sag likes big-league sports, horseback riding, skiing, and fencing. You might try to get a few friends together for weekly treks to the slopes or stables.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Sun, Mercury and Venus make conjunctions this week in your solar eleventh house of friends. You gain by friends and thru clubs or other groups you belong to. You may sell items or find stuff you've been looking for. Either way, it should be a good week for business for you. Your ruler Jupiter gets a sextile from the Moon on Sunday evening, and a trine Friday morn; try to make your pitches in those time slots. A Moon-Jupiter square early Wednesday is less favorable, but if you can dig in and make a harder sell, you might pull it off.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Mars enters Sag on Thursday, in your solar eleventh house of friends and clubs. Mars here could indicate a new male friend, but just as easily can indicate arguments and disputes. Be careful what you say; you might get off by offering to settle things with a game of darts or basketball, whatever kind of competition you think would be fair. Mars is competition, and if you can stand to be competitive with your friends, then by all means enjoy a game well-played. Favorable transits accent your solar tenth house of career; sales and general business reports are positive, and you could land a good account personally.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Mars enters your solar tenth house of career in the sign of Sag. Mars here adds competitiveness to the office. That can be acutely uncomfortable for a Pisces, but if you can turn it into a game, with others or just with yourself, you can do well here. Just be careful of careless remarks that may engender argument and unintentional slights. The Sun, Mercury and Venus in compatible Scorpio make positive conjunctions this week and can ignite positive movement in your solar ninth house (law, publishing, religion, higher education). Check back with the career services department of the alma mater, since they may have the right job listing for you. Chat online with a lawyer for free, and find a way thru your current legal impasse.

Your Weekly Horoscope for Oct. 17-23, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury in Libra is inconjunct Jupiter at 25 degrees of Pisces at 7:42 pm Sunday
, Oct. 17. These are both mental planets; Mercury rules practical everyday how-to stuff, while Jove rules overall principles and philosophy. So an inconjunct says to me that what we learn due to research, or to getting a different philosophical understanding, can force us to revise everyday protocols. While Libra is a very mental, rational sign, it could benefit from taking a larger view (both Pisces and Jupiter).

Monday will be mentally tricky when Mercury in Libra trines Neptune at 26 degrees of Aquarius at 8:03 am. It can bring drivers who make wrong turns, get lost, or get stuck in traffic. But it can also bring inspiration from anywhere, from out of the blue, so pay attention to idel thoughts; they might be truer to reality than you could imagine.

Mercury in Libra is inconjunct Uranus at 27 degrees of Pisces at 6 am sharp on Tuesday. Sextiles and trines are great for buying mechanical and electronic items, but this aspect favors altering an item to suit your comfort or needs. Like, unlocking an i-phone. Or adding a larger memory capacity or altering software to do your job.

Pluto is conjunct the asteroid Ceres at 8:05 pm Tuesday at 3 degrees Capricorn. Pay attention to farm reports this week, regarding actual harvests or killing frosts. Will farmers be able to complete harvesting or not before the rest of the crop rots in the field?
Mercury enters Scorpio at 5:19 pm Wednesday. Mercury placed here is the real detective of the zodiac, delving deep into the mysteries of life and death. He also likes making macabre jokes – very apropos for the upcoming Halloween holiday. If someone makes a good mot, just laugh it off (after the delicious tingle of fear runs down your back).
Mars in Scorpio trines Jupiter at 24 degrees of Pisces at 9:42 pm Wednesday. Great opportunities for moderate risk with good rewards. Good for great sporting events. Mars in Scorpio is extremely determined to achieve its own goals, and is willing to do or die. Jupiter in Pisces, though, is just as ready to applaud a great play by the opponent, or treat everyone to pizza after the game's over.

Mars in Scorpio square Neptune in Aquarius, at 11:35 am Friday, can sap the energy of anybody. Mars-Neptune combos make one prone to mystery ailments and viruses, or one may just push oneself way too far and wind up in the hospital. Baby yourself, baby, and get your vitamins and tummy mint tea.
The Sun enters the serious fixed water sign of Scorpio at 8:35 am Saturday. The Sun is coming off an inconjunct to Uranus on Wednesday night, and after the ingress, will sextile Pluto (Scorpio's ruler) in Capricorn on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 26. Next it conjoins Venus on Thursday evening. Sun-Uranus can bring unusual insights and flashes of brilliance, though you may not be comfortable with the changes to your life due to those insights. Sun-Pluto is all about evolution, either personal or species-wide. You as an individual (Sun) evolve (Pluto) throughout your life or stagnate in muddy backwaters.

Looking ahead, Mercury joins a retrograde Venus at 7 degrees of Scorpio on Monday, Oct. 25 (9:17 am). Thisis another marker of economic activity and the business cycle. Venus and Mercury together show that shoppers (and I am including buyers of stock shares) agree on a price. However, I think the fact that Venus is retrograde means that she is buying more of those that are marked down, possibly distressed merchandise. Scorpio is a great one for buying overstocks and closeouts (in other words, distressed merchandise), and reselling for a profit.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 11:23 am Wednesday till Friday night. The Moon squares Pluto and Ceres Wednesday night; you may be challenged to try a new, healthy food or style of eating, but please, at least try it once. The Sun in Libra, your opposite sign, is inconjunct Uranus in Pisces; your partner/spouse may be jarred by a glimpse of the seamy side of life a bit too close to home; reassure her that you will always be there for her no matter what. The Moon is also inconjunct Venue Thursday morn; be careful what you say to your S.O. Because she is wondering whether there is any future for the two of you. A Moon-Saturn opposition the same morning gives her fears that your relationship may draw to a close.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 10:30 pm Friday thru the weekend. A Moon-Pluto trine early Saturday may bring news of new addition to the clan. Mercury in Scorpio sextiles Ceres in compatible Capricorn; perhaps your partner presents you with a cookbook with a dozen delights . Keep the lines of communication wide open under a a Moon-Mercury opposition Saturday morning; words do have the power to hurt or heal so choose your words carefully. Ditto for the afternoon's Moon-Venus opposition; put a bit of sugar on those words and watch your partner eat them up. An inconjunct from Moon to Saturn that night makes you more willing to let go of things that are weighing you down. Let them go, let yourself grow.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The earlier part of the week is definitely going to be more comfortable for you, just because Mercury is in compatible air sign Libra. When your ruler Mercury enters Scorpio on Wednesday afternoon, you are both lost yet fascinated. Scorpio's intensity and mystery in general pique your interest. Sometimes getting a Scorpio to open up to you is your favorite game. Practice being silent for oh, at least five minutes a day, Gem, to start to understand that Scorpio boy. Five minutes is about all you can handle of that.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Sun and Mercury enter Scorpio, your solar fifth house, this week. Events pick up in regards to children, creativity, or romance. Just use some caution due to Mars' presence in Scorpio also, squaring Neptune. Some new beaux may be misrepresenting themselves to impress you. Great for taking a class in painting or other arts, tho. Mars trines Jupiter in water signs on Wednesday night; calculated gambles can pay off, altho we never recommend risking your rent money. But Cancer is more likely to venture into a mom-and-pop business, and this may be a good time to look into current SBA programs. They've cut some fees under Obama, and made it a bit easier to get started.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Mars in Scorpio squares Neptune in Aquarius midday Friday, affecting your partner and family. Family members may come down with a minor virus, etc. so provide support (meds, chicken soup) and make everyone get some proper sleep. In fact, a lot starts happening in your solar fourth house of home and family, mainly due to the ingress of Sun and Mercury into Scorpio there. Hmmm, you are not always happy with Scorpio's intrigue, but you do appreciate his sense of drama. Family members may finally break some news to you that they have been tiptoeing about for weeks. Ach, why didn't they tell me earlier?, you groan. But that's because they knew you'd be upset.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Pluto conjunct Ceres on Tuesday evening in Capricorn puts your attention on finishing the harvest of your veggie garden before the first killing frost. You may find that canning is an art form with you, as you carefully arrange each string bean or carrot to make the best display. Mercury enters Scorpio this week, and enters your solar third house, its natural home. Communications pick up, but in a subtle way. You may be hinted to rather than told outright about something, so keep your ears and head open. Your partner may come into a bit of luck on Wednesday night, under a Jupiter aspect. Hope you've been treating him/her very very nicely.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Mercury in Libra is inconjunct Jupiter in Pisces on Sunday night. These mental planets mesh better when both are in air or fire signs; here, one is forced to consider changing how one does things based on what you have learned how to do. Remember you are responsible for what you know, both when to use it and when not to use it. Weigh the possible results and act accordingly, especially in dealing with family members. This aspect is followed by Sun inconjunct Jupiter mid-morning Monday; here, how you say and do things affect how others respond to you. Hey, you are not a blank slate, and so your personal touch is so important that day.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Mars and Venus are already in your sign, soon followed by Mercury on Wednesday and the Sun on Saturday. Mmm, you will be on the minds of many in the weeks ahead, so look sharp and marshal your facts and figs together. You never know when you will meet a new friend or lover. Mars squares Neptune in Aquarius midday Friday; best to postpone family decisions till a more favorable time because you are getting wool pulled over your eyes right now. Also there is some threat of illness (just a minor virus) so guard your health. Best days may be Sun. to mid-Wed. with Moon in compatible Pisces. You lighten up when playing games or with children.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Best days this week have Moon in compatible Aries Wed-Fri. You too, look forward to working with children or teaching them new games (new to them) from your youth. The Moon-Venus opposition in your solar sixth and twelfth houses prompts you to visit Mom or a girlfriend in the hospital. Be the wonderfully supportive person you are, and assure the patient that they will be up and running again in no time. Make 'em laugh, make 'em laugh. Lots going on behind the scenes as Sun and Mercury enter Scorpio, your solar twelfth house. This also repeats theme of Moon-Venus opposition.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Tuesday may see a new office communications or voicemail system installed, under the Mercury-Uranus transit. Pluto is conjunct the asteroid Ceres at 8:05 pm Tuesday at 3 degrees Capricorn; you get involved in putting up food for the winter. Cappy is a very self-reliant sign, and is willing to do without if he cannot do it himself. Sun and Mercury enter Scorpio this week, in your solar eleventh house of friends. Your Scorpio friends are a bit more talkative, or maybe you get better at drawing them out. But anyway, you learn lots from these quiet types.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The week begins with the Moon in Aquarius, until Sunday night. A Moon-Mars square often prompts haste, followed by the need to do it over. Check first what your 'customer' wants. The Moon trines the Sun and then Mercury in late morning. Harmony is supported and results from clear and objective speech. Avoid blame games etc. and you should do OK today. A Moon-Neptune conjunction in the afternoon favors a movie matinee. Other than that, I'd say let someone else drive and handle the money, because Neptune does not pay attention to details.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 10:52 pm Sunday till midday Wednesday. The Moon sextiles Pluto and Ceres very early Monday; you might stay up late cooking a batch of something for the kids' lunches, but then again you might enjoy an exotic restaurant with your special someone.
A Moon-Venus trine Monday night favors a date or just visiting with a woman friend or relative. The Moon trines Mars Tuesday night before the Moon conjoins Jupiter. A moderate risk can bring big rewards, but make sure you know what you are doing. The Sun and Mercury enter Scorpio, your solar ninth house, this week. Events pick up in regards to law, college, publishing, or spirituality.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Oct. 10-16, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury is conjunct the Sun at 9:05 pm Sat., October 16
, at 22 degrees Libra. This is a key event in the economic cycle, and we would do well to ask what those two planets were doing before joining up this week. The Sun was conjunct Saturn on Sept. 30. Mercury opposed technological and erratic Uranus on Oct. 2, squared Pluto early on Oct. 5, and conjoined Saturn on Oct. 5. So these two poor boys have been buffeted by negative messages from Saturn while poor lil Mercury has had to face ultimatums from Uranus and Pluto, the Lightning and Earthquake Twins, all by himself.

It's enough to give the wing-footed one a complex. He will have nothing but bad news to pass along to the Sun when he gives his report. Didn't we see this before? A couple years ago, Mars joined the Sun after a conjunction to Saturn on July 7, 2008. Mars represents debt, among other things. And the bad news he passed along to the Sun was that we were all carrying far too much debt, in that instance it was mortgage debt.

This time around, the Mercury-Saturn conjunction was accompanied by Venus' retrograde station the same day, Oct. 8 (at 3:05 am, at 13 degrees Scorpio). Venus represents not only money, but the dollar itself, commodities like sugar, cattle, copper, art, flowers, fruit and everything that is sweet. The dollar could drop in value, but Wall Street likes that because it makes our exports more salable on the world markets.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – A lawyer/publisher/pastor/prof is very supportive of your spouse Monday, who has possibly suffered some reverses this month. Caution the rest of the family against splurges for the time being, tho. A job assignment may come to an end about Wednesday, when the Moon joins Pluto-Ceres. However, a sextile to Venus overnight says she may have ways to soften the blow. See about borrowing against insurance, or selling off unneeded possessions. The week will still have tough aspects, but the week ends with reasons for optimism if you are willing to be more disciplined about spending, etc.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – A friend may not be generous if you ask Tuesday, but you should at least let her know how matters stand. A late dinner with your special one can be very romantic Wednesday, under a Moon-Venus sextile. (and even picnicking in the living room can be romantic under Moon-Venus) Sun, Mercury and Saturn all make conjunctions this week in your solar sixth house of health, so it may be wise to have nagging issues looked at. Get it done and taken care of.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – A child or romantic partner may be going through the wringer this week (and this month) so just try to be supportive. That may mean just distracting HIM with jokes and gossip, or drawing out more details from a HER. Thursday afternoon's Sun-Moon square may not favor dates or any male-female mixers; however, I am told that this evening favors staying up late to get something done until the void-of-course Moon at 5:49 am Friday.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – You are in for a long haul due to Saturn's transit thru Libra for the next couple years; however, if anyone is a pillar of strength, it is probably you. Cancers may cry a bit at first over a loss or bad news, but they get themselves together and just do what has to be done. So this may be a tough week because Saturn is getting a lot of aspects from the Moon as more details come out, but sextiles on Monday, and a trine Saturday, promise some silver linings. You go find them.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Mercury-Saturn conjunction from last week continues to percolate down as details come through. And some of those details may rebound in your favor on Monday and Saturday, when there are favorable Moon aspects. Plus the Sun-Mercury conjunction on Saturday is likely in favorable aspects to your natal planets, so that is another reason for optimism -- altho I know full well that Leo is almost always sunny and warm, just like the sun.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Virgo is just so relieved to have Saturn out of its sign again that it is kicking up its heels and ready to play. You may be inclined to go out to the movies (yes, OUT, to an actual cinema; splurge this once). The Sun-Mercury conjunction in Libra is in your solar second house, and even though Saturn is there now, that can be good. Saturn not only makes you disciplined about your budget, it can add longer hours and sometimes more responsibility. So keep your head up and your eyes open, and sharpen up unused skills.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Ah, poor Libra. You are really getting a lot of stuff thrown at you all of a sudden, but 'grace under pressure' is one more ideal you can master. I know you don't deserve bad luck or reverses, but geez, the wheel goes round and now it is your turn and that is how things go. You may have to sell off some cherished objets d'art, but they need a change of scene, too. Wednesday may be frankly the worst day of the week, when Moon-Pluto pressure Saturn in your sign. Ah, well, but the Sun-Mercury conjunction on Saturday is also in your sign, promising yet another new start (altho this time on a more disciplined footing).

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio until Sunday evening. Well, Scorp, Sunday has some of everything: a trine to Jupiter about 11 am, followed closely by squares to Neptune and Ceres, and a trine to Uranus in the afternoon. Jupiter may be no help if you overdo, but maybe you won't care anyway. But the square to Neptune-Chiron cautions you about knowing what you eat, because that combo can produce anything from indigestion to food poisoning or worse. Uranus will point out the funny side of everything Sunday afternoon. And frankly we all could use a good laugh in these difficult times.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 6:09 pm Sunday to very early Wednesday. No aspects Sunday, but Monday has a productive sextile from the Moon to Saturn mid-morning and an informative Mercury in the evening. You can get a great deal done at work, and 'relax' with a class that night. Tuesday just has a challenging yet rewarding square to Jupiter about 4 pm; thinking big can pay off. Sextiles to Neptune and Chiron early evening caution you to watch what you eat, but you may find something novel at the health-food store. Comedy rules the evening under Uranus's rays.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 12:17 am Wed. to mid-morning Friday. The Moon conjunct Ceres and Pluto early can be a good time to harvest the last of the garden; also you may revise your diet after receiving new scientific data Monday. You will have to be disciplined about that to get thru dinner hour, but Saturn is strengthening your resolve. You might not be please Thursday with the way things are progressing at work, but just be glad you have a job in this economy. Sextiles to Mars and Jupiter early Friday bring energy, daring, risk and rewards.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from 10:24 Friday morn to next Sunday night. The Moon makes no aspects Friday to Aquarius, so expect a rather uneventful day. Saturday the Moon trines Saturn about sunrise, helping you get chores out of the way. A square to Venus about 10 am can see friction between women; beg off the brunch with sis or mom and tell her next Monday night looks better. A Sun-Mercury conjunction Sat. night favors catching up with news and email. You might actually enjoy the church service next Sunday under a favorable Moon trine to solar-chart ninth house planets.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon squares Jupiter in Pisces at 4:15 pm Tuesday; you might be too generous for your own good. This is followed by a Moon-Uranus square; emotional upsets about 8 pm do not favor a dinner party or healthful eating for that matter. However, a Moon-Jupiter sextile late Thursday is far better; try to think who can help you with a problem. A Moon-Uranus sextile during the morning commute Friday brings an insight; maybe the morning dj says something that makes the light bulb go on, hey?
