Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 2-8, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

What did I tell ya about Dec. 26 and the wipeout planet Pluto??
The Sun-Pluto conjunction occurred on Sunday night at 5 degrees of Capricorn, right on my third house cusp. My computer was attacked that night and I had to shut it down and reboot to factory condition. It wiped out my purchased software, which I had to reinstall, and also the column for this week which was about half-done. Dunce that I am, I did not keep backing it up as I went along. That is changing right here and now, you bet.

So anyway, a Solar Eclipse helps usher in the New Year belatedly on Jan. 4, at 4:03 am and at 13 degrees, 39 minutes of Capricorn. Also exact that day are a Venus-Neptune square (in love with love and not seeing the other person realistically), a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction (boon for electronic and technical breakthroughs), Venus trine that Jove-Uranus combo, Moon square Saturn (some hard-headed realism and practicality), and Moon conjunct Mars in Capricorn. Whew. This is some lunation, and you don't often see so many EXACT aspects going on the same day as an eclipse. There is a lot of cardinal energy along with that megawatt conjunction in Pisces. It reminds me of that line about “go ahead and build your castles in the air, but then build a foundation under them.” The cardinal energy (Sun, Moon, Saturn, Mars) is going to buckle down and get some things done.

Venus enters Sag at 7:30 am Friday. Venus in Scorpio was very intense, but now she is looking for some adventure, possibly would like to take a trip or go skiing.

The Sun in Capricorn squares Saturn at almost 17 degrees Libra at 9 am Friday, This is probably going to be very frustrating for the Capricorns with natal planets at 17 degrees. Cardinal signs really hate anyone telling them 'no' or even 'later'. However, on the positive side, both signs will be able to muster the fortitude and discipline to meet any goal.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Venus enters Sag on Friday morn, a more compatible placement for you. Venus in your solar ninth will bring some favors or offers of help regarding legal, college, the internet, or publishing matters. The core meaning of Venus is values, meaning people values versus money values. Which matters most to you? And how can you make the above areas of your life become a better reflection of your values?

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The best day this week is probably Wednesday, when sextiles from Moon in Capricorn to Jupiter-Uranus in Pisces, and again to Venus in Scorpio occur in the early morn. Partners and friends may be able to help with legal or publishing problems you have. If you have planets at 26-27 degrees of any signs, this issue is more likely to be impacted.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – A tale of woe awaits you if you get involved with a slick lawyer or 'agent'. Neptune in Aquarius, in your solar ninth, is squared by Venus in Scorpio on Tuesday. You are usually pretty quick to pick up on when something doesn't sound right, but this time you need to keep your purse closed and take your time. Because this aspect is on eclipse day it is possible that this warning should be extended for about four months.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - Water signs and cardinal signs are both activated by this eclipse on Dec. 4, and Cancer is both. Venus in Scorpio, in your solar fifth house of children, fun, and creativity, squares Neptune in Aquarius, but also trines Jupiter-Uranus for a grand trine in water if you have natal planets at 26-27 degrees of water signs. This could be a marvelous, fortunate period of growth where you are just in the right place at the right time. I worry about Neptune, tho stealing away some of that good fortune with bad bookkeeping or someone defrauding you of your just earnings. So keep your receipts and your accounting up to snuff to prove any bills you present are duly payable.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Leo is not particularly favored by this solar eclipse in Capricorn on Tuesday, because so many aspects are from signs that are inconjunct to Leo (Cappy and Pisces). Leo is therefore called on to make still more adjustments and be very creative in finding ways to get along. The fact that Saturn in Libra, I count as in your favor; friends are your rock even if they demand something in return for their help. Also the Venus in Scorpio square to Neptune in Aquarius, even though it is in fixed signs, may help you find positions that demand a touch of glamour (Neptune).

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Eclipse Day conjunction of Jupiter-Uranus in Pisces opposes your sun sign from your solar seventh house; possibly your mate receives a boon of some kind, or maybe he just seems like he is tremendously generous all of a sudden. Enjoy it!. Saturn in your solar second house, though, is squared by Sun in Capricorn on Friday; your pocketbook may be impacted by legal or publishing issues. Fees may seem like an obstacle, or you may have to sue someone to get your services paid.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Be very cautious of new loves; Venus in your solar second house is squared by Neptune in the solar fifth house of romance. Meaning, that new love may just be looking for some deep pockets to get into. The fact that Venus also trines Jupiter-Uranus may mean this person seems very fascinating and generous, but just enjoy the hours spent, without making any promises of financial help. You may have to be quite firm with him/her by the time Friday is over. However, Thursday night has a very productive Moon-Saturn trine; you may finish that paper, chore, or go out to a classical concert. You may even be teaching a class that night, and loving it.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Venus in your sign is making the rounds. She trines Jupiter-Uranus in Pisces on Tuesday morning, while squaring Neptune. You may have a great boon but boy, be careful you don't hand it all out in your excitement. Your solar third house is activated by this solar eclipse on Tuesday, the house that rules communications, transit, internet/computer, phones, emails and snail mail, neighbors, siblings, landlords, and local politics. Any issues going on with any of that? This eclipse may force things to a resolution.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from week's start till early Monday. A Moon-Mercury conjunction in the morn has you burning up the phone lines or emailing. You will reach people you want to talk to. The evening has a Moon sextile Neptune and square Jupiter-Uranus; perhaps a comedy film will suit you.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 2:39 am Monday till midday Wednesday. A Moon-Pluto conjunction just after lunch Monday could denote an emotional wipeout, but more often it's a chance to set goals for self-determination, etc. for the month/year. Tues: Friends could cost you money; avoid loaning anything. Good fortune thru siblings, relatives, neighbors, and the mail. You are ready to buckle down to work, and take on more responsibilities. Your emotions run high Tuesday night. Wednesday has easy, positive sextiles supporting you from Jupiter-Uranus and Venus; join a fundraiser ski event for example. Friday morn is likely to be frustrating, tho it may spur you to a new goal.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from 11:08 am Wednesday till Friday night. The Moon trines Saturn about 8 pm Thursday; this is great for working on papers for school, research, scientific or legal work, or just buckling down to get chores done. A Moon-Mercury sextile mid-morn Friday is ideal for getting calls out of the way or clerical duties. Try to get as much done as possible because a Moon-Neptune conjunction in your sign can make your emotions difficult to handle. Good for seeing weepy movies but not a whole lot else.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 9:57 pm Friday thru the weekend. A Moon-Venus square may make you uncomfortable with a compliment Friday night; also you may not like the music at a club or concert. Saturday's only aspect is a Moon-Pluto sextile, when you get a tip on how to take back control of some part of your life, possibly you want a chance to pick where you and friends go for the night.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Dec. 26-Jan. 1, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Sunday the 26 of December is known as Boxing Day; this year it features the Sun conjunct Pluto at 5 degrees of Capricorn. This aspect helps one not only remake oneself, but can help you discover your own power to make or remake your life. Pluto is also sometimes called the wipeout planet; in this case you can wipe the slate clean and start over. Or you can clear out everything that you no longer need or use, and enjoy having enough room to breathe.

Mars in Capricorn squares Saturn at 16 degrees of Libra at 10:29 am Wednesday. Mars-Saturn squares often are accompanied by breakage, including of bones. Be careful out there, be safety conscious, and put salt on icy sidewalks.

That square comes the day before Mercury goes in direct motion, at 19 degrees, 38 minutes of Sag, at 2:21 am Thursday. Exercise the usual caution a few days before and after the direct station, as these are prime periods for rushed work and errors.

Friday has a lovely Moon-Venus conjunction in Scorpio, so assuming you get through the last days of the year in good order, you can relax with your significant other – preferably at home with the romantic dinner (or breakfast, as it is exact at 8:11 am Friday) of your choice.

NEW YEAR'S EVE: The worm turns. Saturn is rising in a chart for midnight, creating a rather serious and sober mood. The South Node at 2 degrees of Cancer is high at the Midheaven (6 degrees), which sometimes signifies the least-likely-to-succeed wins it all. (It was located there when 50-1 long-shot Mine That Bird won the Kentucky Derby.) So take a flyer on the door prize or buy the quick-pick lotto ticket, 'cuz you never know. (Pluto and the nodes square the Ascendant, creating opportunity to remake one's self and one's life, go from rags to riches or vice-versa.)

The Moon at 2 degrees of optimistic and freewheeling Sag is also inconjunct the South Node, another indicator of an upset in the making. The public (Moon) is surprised by the outcome of events. This is akin to New Orleans upset of Indianapolis in last year's Super Bowl. The Moon is also sextile the Ascendant at 5 degrees Libra. Do you have any natal planets or angles at 2 to 6 degrees of a sign? The year could get off to a very interesting start!

Yikes, I have a natal chart with 3 degrees rising, trining Mars at the same degree, and square Uranus in Leo also at 3 degrees. Hmmm, I will have to set aside a few singles for the Lotto and whatever else there is. Will see if I can find any events at New Year's at any local spots. Wish me luck, guys, I really need it. I have felt so jinxed these last six months or so.

PS:
Well, so far this was not a good week for me. I was sick a good part of the week with chills – in bed, in fact – and offline much of the rest of the time. So I did not finish the column. Please forgive me. Or cut off my head, whatever. Just get it over with in either case...

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - Mercury goes direct in Sag, your solar ninth house on Thursday; mix-ups can occur in matters related to publishing, law, religion, politics, and college, so double-check all schedules and appointments. Mix-ups are common at the planetary stations. But other than that, all new projects from here on should run smoothly.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 - Mercury goes direct in Sag, your solar eighth house on Thursday; matters related to estate or debt will get straightened out now. Lost bonds can be redeemed, lost wills located, etc. Eighth house also includes genealogy, and you may finally gain some missing pieces of the family puzzle.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - Mercury goes direct in Sag, your solar seventh house on Thursday; misunderstandings with one's mate (or with the public, for those in the public eye) can occur at the stations, so ask for clarification. It is always fun to make up, you know. Relationship matters can progress so much better from here on, especially now that you have learned something about each other.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - Tuesday morn has a Moon-Mars T-square from Libra and Capricorn; this cardinal energy will stress you and even anger you. Don't resort to food again to relieve stress. Mercury goes direct on Thursday in Sag, your solar sixth house; mix-ups can happen re doctor and work schedules, so double-check. Health and work matters should straighten out fine after that.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - Mercury goes direct in Sag, your solar fifth house on Thursday; mix-ups can occur re appointments for children, art class, etc so double-check. Other than that the light turns green on creative matters.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon continues in Virgo after Christmas Day, till midday Monday. The Moon-Mars trine Sunday morning puts energy into your cleanup chores. Cooperation comes easily and by all means ask others to pitch in; you shouldn't do it all yourself. A Moon-Venus sextile in the evening favors calls or visits with loved ones; go to that one holiday party, or all of them. Just keep an eye on the weather report. Monday's Moon opposes Jupiter and Uranus; you feel like your partner is so erratic and yet so generous. Try to remind yourself of his other wonderful qualities, too.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 12:38 pm Monday till Wednesday afternoon. The first aspect is a square to Sun-Pluto in Capricorn on Monday afternoon. Fun; this is going to happen every month so you may as make note what happens, and what issues pop up, and take it from there. I expect Tuesday to be a frustrating day, with the possibility of something breaking; Moon is conjunct Saturn and squaring Mars. There, there; stay in with some tea and cookies. A late-night Moon-Mercury sextile can help you stick to some writing or editing chore. On Wednesday, the Mars-Saturn square is exact at 16 degrees of the signs Capricorn and Libra. Be safety-conscious, and insist on adequate lighting.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 3:49 pm Wednesday till Friday evening, Dec. 31. The Moon does not make exact aspects the first day it is in the sign, but a sextile to Pluto about 1 am Thursday may bring strange dreams or nightmares. The Moon sextiles Sun (6:51 am) and then Mars later that day at 10:39 pm. These aspects favor making sales calls, etc and then athletics or other competitive situations. Friday starts off with a Moon-Venus conjunction in Scorpio; take treats to work, or start your round of New Year calls if you are off work. The Moon trines Jove at 2:11 pm; it's in your solar fifth house of games, gambles, children and recreation. Take your pick. The Moon trines Uranus in the afternoon, same sector as Jove; some surprises could come your way.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon in Virgo opposes Jupiter in Pisces early Monday; this makes a T-square with your natal planets. Whoa, put the brakes on that holiday shopping! Check that list again, pal, before you embarrass yourself with a mistake. Mercury goes direct in your sign on Thursday; see notes above. Proof those emails before you hit Send; oops, never mind. The Moon is in Sag from 8:21 pm Friday (New Year's Eve) till very early Jan. 3. The only exact aspect on NYD is a Moon-Saturn sextile, which is excellent for helping you actually finish some of your many projects.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Tuesday morn has a Moon-Mars square from Libra ; this cardinal energy will stress you and even anger you. Don't act in haste. The Sun is conjunct Pluto on Dec. 26; this aspect helps one not only remake oneself, but can help you discover your own power to make/remake your whole life. Pluto is also sometimes called the wipeout planet; in this case you can wipe the slate clean and start over. Or you can clear out everything that you no longer need or use, and enjoy having enough room to breathe.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Mercury goes direct in Sag, your solar eleventh house on Thursday; possibly a friend lets something slip that they were not supposed to. Well, maybe they had no right to keep it from ya in the first place.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - Mercury goes direct in Sag, your solar tenth house on Thursday; scheduling mix-ups can occur at these changes of direct so improvise if two groups want to use a given meeting room. Friday morn has a lovely Moon-Venus conjunction in Scorpio; your feelings may be intense enough to inspire you to write a poem.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Dec. 19-25, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

The Moon inconjunct Pluto and Mars in Capricorn on Sunday, Dec. 1
9 can make many of us frustrated with the powers that be. Try some attitude therapy: repeat that little prayer of St. Francis about gaining the wisdom to know the difference... The Moon is actually the focal point of a Yod, with Venus in Scorpio making the other leg of the elongated triangle. (You may have to give up the tug-of-war with a loved one, and accept them as they are.) My personal experience is that Yods are not lucky at all. I know someone with a birthday on this day, so it should be an interesting year of changes for him. (Also, Venus, Pluto and Mars can also relate to issues with cash and debt; many of us may be forced to deal with money in a much more controlled way. Venus is cash and income, Mars is debt, Pluto is the holder of the debt, the mortgage, or having to declare bankruptcy.)
Mercury in Sag squares Uranus at 26 degrees of Pisces at 6:30 pm Monday. Do not buy any mechanical or electronic items the previous weekend, and wait till this aspect passes. Trines and sextiles are much better for buying such items, if you want them to be as trouble-free as possible. It is good for brainstorming or inventing (well, tinkering might be a better word). Oh, and do be careful when setting up holiday light displays; watch for safety, and don't overload fuses.
The Sun enters Capricorn at 6:38 pm Tuesday, Dec. 21. Happy birthday to all Capricorns this month. The ingress is marked by a Full Moon this time, at 29 degrees Gemini (opposing Mercury), plus a lunar eclipse on the Winter Solstice. The Sun is nearly conjunct Pluto and Mars, while Mercury squares Jupiter (exact at 8 pm Tuesday). Late degrees can be very fortunate, and a Full Moon at the end of Gemini could signal an upswing in the fortunes of newspapers, media, writers in general, and brokers.
A chart for the Sun ingress, set for Washington DC, has the Moon in the twelfth house, and Sun-Mercury-Mars-Pluto-North Node in the sixth house of health and jobs. The unemployment reports will be a big concern for the public (Moon, which squares the Midheaven). Jupiter and Uranus square Sun-Mercury in Capricorn, probably magnifying the distress and worry over bad news. It is hard for me to find some reason to expect good news from this transit, and I can only hope that people go ahead and have a cheerful if modest holiday celebration. Christmas comes only once a year, and we all take comfort in our annual traditions.
The Ascendant at 24 degrees Cancer puts the accent on family, home, traditions, and our emotional connections with others. So pull out the oldest ornaments and hang them on the tree, dig up the most traditional carols and sing them together, and in general just have yourselves a merry little Christmas now.

On Christmas morning, the Moon opposes Neptune at 4:28 am (and trines Mercury), giving everything a glamorous and magical shine. People will tend to want to cocoon this morning, and possibly nip a bit too much of the eggnog. Music will seem more beautiful and truer, so play all your seasonal music and enjoy it to the hilt. Rock around the Christmas tree, if that's your style, but make room for Bing, too.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - The Sun is conjunct Mercury in the last degree of Sag at 8:23 pm Sunday. Late degrees can be very powerful if you have them in your natal chart; try doing a candle ceremony or just some kind of affirmation to yourself; good themes are anything to do with publishing or higher education (because this is in your solar ninth house), so you might pledge to finish that manuscript that languishes in a drawer. The Full Moon on Wednesday in Gemini reinforces the theme, since it occurs in your solar third house of communications, writing, transit, trips, and local politics. At least consider journaling or blogging, to help you get your thoughts together.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – A Full Moon in your second house (Gemini) on Tuesday would seem to favor efforts in areas of writing or bookkeeping. The opposition to the Sun and Mercury in Sag reinforces that axis; you might try to finish up at least a writing proposal so you can start getting paid for your scribbles. Keep at it, Taur, little by little you can get it done. Oh and hey, check out the Writer's Store for software just tailored for specific projects, like novels or screenplays.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini as the week begins, where it remains till early Tuesday. Sunday, Sun-Mercury is conjunct at 8:23 pm, in your solar seventh house of partners; this favors a chatty, upbeat date with your partner. Other aspects that day point to making adjustments, material or mental. You may have to accept differences with your partner or others. Monday will be rather challenging, again with inconjuncts denoting adjustments, and the Moon squaring Jupiter then Uranus = avoid overdoing. Watch out for malfunctioning machines, when Mercury in Sag squares Uranus on Monday evening. A Full Moon at 3:13 am Tuesday seems auspicious for Geminis in general; see above notes.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer from 4:22 am Tuesday till Thursday morn. The Moon opposes Pluto at 5 degrees of Capricorn midday Tuesday; give up the power struggle, already, or at least call a truce for the holidays. A Moon-Mars opposition late Tuesday is a good time to bite your tongue. A Moon-Venus trine early Wednesday gets the day off on a loving vibe; you might get an early gift from a child, or win a little something as a door prize. The Moon trines Jupiter and then Uranus late Wed-early Thurs, making you feel so marvelous and generous, but hang onto your purse nevertheless.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from 7:51 am Thursday till mid-morning Saturday. Leos like to do the holidays up big, so I imagine you are frustrated by the necessity to limit outlays this year. Just pull out your best stuff and dust it off, and it is FINE. Pull out your holiday finery and recombine elements for a smashing new outfit. Splurge on small things, like chocolates at each place setting, etc. Christmas eve may seem lonely till you pick up the phone and start connecting with those who can't make it this year. Christmas Day has several inconjuncts denoting adjustments, so I don't know if that means bad weather delays your guests or if events have to be canceled or what. You just learn how to make lemonade out of lemons; if no one can come, perhaps you could call up a local military base to ask if there are soldiers who are stuck there this holiday, and open your home to them.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 10:14 am Saturday and thru the following Monday morning. Let's not get too picky over any of the perfectly swell gifts you've received this morning. Thank the givers profusely for thinking so much of you. And maybe some other gift will go just perfect with that sweater or this knit set. Moon in Virgo trines Sun-Pluto in Capricorn on Sat. evening; I think one of the kids will be in charge of hosting duties, so just be the gracious guest and be of service here and there. It isn't your show this time around, so just enjoy not having to worry about everything going off without a hitch.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Full Moon on Tuesday is in the last degree of Gemini, in your solar ninth house of publishing, law, college or religion. Keep after any projects related to those areas, and seek an ombudsman if needed. The Sun-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, in your solar tenth house of work, receives some hits this week, so expect key news. Perhaps your company changes name, presidents, or headquarters. Perhaps you ARE the new CEO, etc. At any rate, many new opportunities await you this year and next.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Venus in your sign is inconjunct Moon in Gemini, forming a Yod with Mars-Pluto in Capricorn on Sunday – AND Sun-Mercury in Sag is near the release point. Writing and related activities are highlighted tho I cannot promise money from such. The Full Moon on Tuesday falls across your third-ninth house axis. This should activate your writing genes and other communications activities. Third house rules the above plus neighbors, siblings and other relatives, transit, and local politics. At least write a letter to the editor of your local paper, and see if anyone salutes.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Sun is conjunct Mercury in the last degree of Sag at 8:23 pm Sunday. Late degrees can be very powerful if you have them in your natal chart; try doing a candle ceremony or just some kind of affirmation to yourself; good themes are anything to do with communications or education, so you might pledge to finish that manuscript that languishes in a drawer.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Cappy is hogging a lot of the astrological activity this week. The Sun and Pluto are conjunct in your sign next Sunday (Dec. 26), but things are building up to the conjunction. You may want to control everything; no one has complete control over everything but you at least have yourself under control. You know that the only thing you can change, really, is yourself and your own attitude. The Full Moon Tuesday, and the Sun-Mercury conjunction on Sunday in Sag, are activating your sixth-twelfth house axis. You may have to see a doc, or visit sick friends in the hospital. So your mind may be on serious events in your own circle this holiday season rather than gifting and shopping. Have faith in the docs, and try to cheer up ailing loved ones.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Air sign Aquarians find the Sun-Mercury conjunction in Sag, and the Full Moon in Gemini, fully compatible. The Full Moon falls in your solar fifth house of children, creativity and the arts, so here again the possibility of a writing project may beckon. An influential contact (Sun-Mercury opposite) or networking can be very productive this month.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Sun-Mercury conjunction in Sag and the Full Moon in Gemini on Tuesday fall across your fourth-tenth house axis. Possibly a home-based business will commence or start to pan out. Some legal matters may have to be attended to (Venus in Scorpio), so perhaps your business will be formalized as a company. Best wishes and I hope that this venture provides a happy and prosperous New Year.

Your Milky Way Horoscope December 12-18, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Monday is an amazing day (Dec. 13). Not only does the Moon illuminate Jupiter and Uranus, all in Pisces, but Mercury, Mars and Pluto will all converge in practical Capricorn.
Let's look at Moon-Jove-Uranus first, at 24 and 26 degrees of Pisces: Moon-Jupiter intensifies feeling while Jupiter magnifies everything. Uranus in the mix can bring emotional upsets, impatience, a yearning to kick over the traces and strike out for new frontiers. Uranus with the Moon can make people very rash, indeed. Therefore I am not eager to see this aspect comes around, especially with the very antagonistic Capricorn conjunctions also in play.
Now Mercury-Mars-Pluto at 4 degrees of Capricorn: This series of closely-spaced conjunction all occur around 11 pm ET. This really sounds to me like the well-connected friend (or uncle or boss) who can call up just the right person and in no time, get something straightened out that you or I would need months to do (if ever). Now, this action could be good or bad; it can also mean a personnel dept. that hands out hundreds of pink slips in a day, so keep an eye on what aspects this thing makes to natal planets. Mercury is retrograde, people, so the effects may only be temporary. Mars and Pluto also signify police and the military, so errors in communicating orders on the battlefield could occur. Pluto is power plays; who knows what kind of maneuvers the new GOP-controlled Congress might try to do.
This thing, for example, closely opposes my own natal Mars in the ninth house, and sextiles my Ascendant, so I rather expect that transit and communication issues could be fouled up. Perhaps the car won't start in cold weather, or key emails bounce back to me as undeliverable.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 2:15 am Tuesday till midday Thursday. Moon in Aries squares those Capricorn planets that converged on Monday; Arians may not be too comfortable with whatever events transpired. Career news may definitely be mixed. An inconjunct between the Moon and Venus about 8 pm can prompt some redecorating; Venus as the ruler of cash can put a crimp in your shopping, tho. Look for inexpensive ways to update the look of your home or your self. A Moon-Saturn opposition on Wednesday can mean frustrating morning commutes or a general lack of support from others. However, a Sun-Moon trine overnight Wed-Thurs can soothe your soul with a happy homelife or a romantic date.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 1:49 pm Thursday till late Saturday. Moon in Taurus trines Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn on Thursday evening (and then Mars early Friday). You might try reviving an old flame (Mars is standing by), but it may still be difficult to resolve stormy undercurrents. That old black magic still has you in its spell. A Moon-Venus opposition Friday morning makes you the recipient of a gift, tip or compliment. The Moon is inconjunct Saturn that evening, making you resentful of limitations. Saturday kicks off with a positive Moon-Jupiter sextile; arrange for brunch or shopping with a boon friend. A square to Neptune in the afternoon can confuse you; make sure of sizes, etc. if gift shopping. You are likely to spend the rest of the day returning items if you don't.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Monday's Moon-Jupiter-Uranus stellium squares your natal sign; try to keep an emotionally even keel no matter what transpires. The Moon is in Gemini from 10:37 pm Saturday into next Tuesday (Dec. 21). The first aspects are not exact till Sunday morn but they are inconjuncts to Pluto and Mars in Capricorn. You, too, may be highly inconvenienced by the events of Monday. Make sure you have plenty of cash on hand if electronic or banking snafus occur.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - Monday's Moon-Jupiter-Uranus stellium trines your natal sign; trines are usually positive, but I would not take this aspect for granted. Mercury-Mars-Pluto in Capricorn, opposing your natal planets from the solar seventh house, show a mate who is under extreme stress and needs your loyal support more than ever.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Monday's Moon-Jupiter-Uranus stellium in Pisces is inconjunct your natal planets; this is often a spur to very creative efforts. You may have to adjust your usual style, but I am sure you will make a definite impact on audiences both large and small. The Mercury-Mars-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn afflicts your solar sixth house of health. I would take seriously any warning pains and get them checked out; catching ailments sooner rather than later can save you a lot of pain and grief.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - Monday's Moon-Jupiter-Uranus stellium opposes your natal sign; you could convey enormous faith and inspiration to others (or conversely, be deeply affected by others who express deeply-felt emotions and ideals). The Mercury-Mars-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, in your solar fifth house, trines your natal planets; can bring news of not just an addition to the family but perhaps a multiple birth or something quite dramatic. Artistic pursuits can be gripping as a thriller, or as dramatic as Les Miserables.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Monday's Mercury-Mars-Pluto stellium in Capricorn squares your natal sign; your sense of home and family will be affected. On the positive side, this transit can bring news (Mercury) of a new addition to the family. On the other hand it may bring news of some health crisis or illness. But I am sure that you will know what to do in either case. The Moon-Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Pisces is inconjunct your natal planets; this can signify great luck in creative pursuits. You are able to adjust your performance to each audience's vibe.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Monday's Moon-Jupiter-Uranus stellium in Pisces trines your natal sign; trines are usually positive, but sometimes Jupiter can be too much of a good thing. Anyway, Moon-Jupiter-Uranus in your solar fifth house can signify the birth of a very special, very unusual baby. You may address or teach an audience of youths en masse, perhaps online. Artistic pursuits could be very lucky and gain wide attention from the public (Moon), perhaps utilizing unusual or electronic elements. The Mercury-Mars-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, in your solar third house, also supports mass education, possibly in subjects related to health, sports, and the insidious effects of using steroids or other drugs.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Monday's Moon-Jupiter-Uranus stellium in Pisces squares your natal sign; try to keep an emotionally even keel no matter what transpires. Then the Mercury-Mars-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn affects your solar second house of money. Keep track of your account balances to avoid embarrassing overdrafts. Pluto is also the issue of control, and so I think you will reassert control over your spending and over all other financial issues. I bet you will do anything to avoid facing the awful straits that many Americans are facing now with job losses and foreclosure. Read Suze Orman's books for inspiration.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - Monday's Moon-Jupiter-Uranus stellium in Pisces is in your solar third house of communication, relatives, siblings, neighbors. You might profit from catching up with a sister or aunt, or from short trips. You may be pleased to offer scholarships or other rewards to local schoolchildren with good grades. Then the Mercury-Mars-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn affects your first house. Well, it'll either be very good or pretty stressful. Issues of control over your own life will probably take center stage, and arguments over that can be pretty vociferous. Now, wait, just because someone makes a suggestion doesn't mean they are trying to boss you around. So chill out a bit; offer to flip a coin to sort out options.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - Monday's Moon-Jupiter-Uranus stellium in Pisces is in your solar second house; it is probably safe to say it looks like a lucky day for you. It is hard to overdo money altho it is possible if you are spending it rather than making it. You will want to make everyone so happy, but remember that your attention is the best gift of any of them. Then the Mercury-Mars-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn affects your solar twelfth; hmm, that is a bit hard to figure. You may put something in a safe place and then totally forget where it is. Secrets may pop out at the most unfortunate times. Laugh off any mislaid items or misspoken truths.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from Sunday till late Monday (Dec. 13). The Moon sextiles Mercury in Capricorn at 1 am, which I suppose favors staying up late the Saturday before to finish addressing all your cards. A Moon-Venus trine a couple hours later will tend to give you a rosy loving glow at the breakfast table, just try to be reasonable about the sweet rolls. And Moon inconjunct Saturn about 9 pm makes you want to knock out walls so you can arrange the tree and furniture comfortably. Well, you always managed to squeeze everyone in last year, just do the same again. Settle for a three-foot tabletop tree, and stop whining. Or try one of those upside down trees that hang from the ceiling, giving plenty of floor space for wrapped gifts. Monday has several conjunctions: Moon to Jove and Uranus, followed by Mercury with Pluto and Mars in Capricorn in your solar eleventh house of friends. You sure have a powerhouse friend who can make a phone call or send one letter, and wham, your wish is granted like lightning. Or maybe you do the granting of wishes, and revel in the grateful thanks.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Dec. 5-11, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury conjoins Pluto in Capricorn at 6:20 pm Sunday, Dec. 5
. We will certainly want to get to the bottom of things, whether 'it' is a mystery novel, a bookkeeping error, political machinations, or anything else. The night favors cozying up with a mystery but one that has some quality of poetic justice, like the characters get what they really deserve. You may want to settle some scores yourself, but of course that is not something we recommend.
This also denotes a mental fixity, a determination to force one's own ideas on others, or at least get others to stop trying to force THEIR ideas on you because that ain't gonna happen, kiddo.

Pluto also represents government, and so Mercury in aspect may indicate that some communications take place regarding your personal accounts (SS, Medicare, military service or benefits, T-bills, etc.).

Chew on this dept.: Some famous people with Mercury conjunct Pluto natally include Della Reese, Sylvester Stallone, Harry S. Truman, Stanley Kubrick, Whitney Houston, Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

The same night, Uranus goes direct at 8:50 pm Sunday, at 26 degrees, 40 minutes of Pisces. You may feel a lurch as sideways-spinning Uranus forces you to look at things from a different angle. Always full of surprises, it is just about impossible to tell how Uranus' station will affect anyone. It squares Mars in Sag, and is semi-sextile Neptune-Chiron in Aquarius. This does not seem good; it sounds like mysterious illnesses and accidents, perhaps a flu bug. But check what aspects it makes to natal planets for clues; mine will sextile Venus so I'm hoping for love or money (preferably both, greedy pig that I am).

Kaye Shinker says that Uranus direct will have an effect on the popularity of electronic gadgets. (Perhaps a surprise i-thingie or app will take off with the public?) Additionally, she says a heliocentric grand cross composed of Venus, Saturn, Jupiter-Uranus, and Pluto, exact on Dec. 7, could cause sunspots or solar flares that play havoc with satellites and communications. See her article at http://www.astrologicalinvesting.com/html/articles_pages/articles-sunspotExplosion2010.htm

Review the Uranus significators: electronics, computers, mechanical objects including cars, psychology, astrology, psychic phenomena, electricians, inventors, radio, all original thinkers, and everything unique.
Mars enters Capricorn, a very strong placement, at 6:49 pm, Dec. 7. Mars here natally can indicate someone with great physical energy, enough to be an athlete or performer. Mars here is also quite ambitious to get to the top of a career ladder or of a mountain. Your Cappy may be more goal oriented in December, with at least one personal project on the front burner. His first aspect is a sextile to the Moon in Pisces at 7:50 pm Saturday evening, at 3 degrees, 48 minutes Capricorn. In New York, Mars will be in the fifth house of fun and the Moon will be in the eighth house of sex and fertility. The sextile to the Moon offers a chance to express a higher value of this Mars placement, that of encouraging others to realize their ambitions, perhaps financing or offering other material support till he/she can get a business off the ground.

Mercury goes retrograde again. Oh stop that groaning. His retrograde station is at 7:04 am Friday, Dec. 10, at 5 degrees, 55 minutes Capricorn. We may see merchants start to slash prices a bit more starting that weekend, probably to help prod lookers into buying something. While the Thanksgiving weekend sales were fairly good, I think that business volume will become a bit weak and this will force merchants to soften the line on prices. They are counting their inventory and not liking how much is still in the stockroom. This is GOOD NEWS for shoppers. Just be careful that things fit, are the right size you need, right color that Suzie wants, etc etc.

Retrograde Mercury will go over the Mars-Pluto conjunction, though, affecting Dec. 10-14. Be extremely cautious about running up more credit card debt, or doing any sort of speculative buying. If you already have problems with debt, you may have to go back and settle these issues now. Seek help if you need it from non-profit credit counselors, such as at nfcc.org, incharge.org, credit.org.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Sag New Moon this time of year tends to always put you in a fine mood. The New Moon is high in your solar chart in the ninth house, and also in the ninth house of charts drawn up for the eastern time zone. This year, a sextile to Saturn in your solar seventh puts a sense of duty uppermost. Perhaps your holiday plans are chosen by your spouse this year, or perhaps plans are broken by family emergencies. Roll with the punches and have a good holiday, anyway. Mercury retrograde in your solar tenth can put snags in career schedules and plans. Confirm appointments before going on sales calls. Mars entering your solar tenth increases competitiveness; perhaps a department contest starts this month.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Sun-sign Taureans with planets in the middle of the sign will have a Yod. The New Moon in Sag sextiles Saturn in Libra Sunday and Tuesday; adding the inconjunct to your natal planets makes a Yod, a so-called Finger of God. Maybe your holiday season may be better spent working on creative projects; perhaps the month will have a fated quality. Tune into what makes you happy and if you'd rather be performing, traveling, writing or painting, then go for it. Mercury goes retrograde in your solar ninth house of law, publishing, higher education. Perhaps you can collect income from articles you have already written; perhaps enrolling in a seminar will brush up professional skills.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The New Moon in Sag activates your solar seventh house, with Saturn in your fifth house. Saturn there may crystallize a relationship with a formal proposal or wedding; or you may get a contract (Saturn) for providing services related to fifth and seventh house functions (performing, emceeing, dj-ing, etc). Uranus goes direct in your solar tenth house, which sounds pretty exciting but erratic. Review the list of significators above and see if your career touches on any of them. Mercury goes retrograde in your solar eighth house of pooled resources; hold off on choosing health insurance till you understand the impact of the reform law on your situation. Insurance claims already in progress may be lost or misfiled, so keep tabs on its status.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The New Moon in Sag activates your solar sixth house of health. There is always the need to set out healthy options in this season of indulgence; you probably are skilled at hiding veggies in even the cake. With Saturn in your solar fourth house, perhaps you prefer to scale back celebrations, preferring to spend time with older relatives while you can. Mercury goes retrograde in your solar seventh house, confusing communications with your spouse or with the public. (Refrain from public announcements or appearances for the time being.) Have someone check over your holiday newsletter or cards before popping them in the mail or cyberspace.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – A Sag New Moon is a wonderful time for you, since it trines your fiery Sun Sign. Saturn in your solar third house means what? You're not sending out cards this year? E-cards save paper and postage. Mercury goes retrograde in your solar sixth house, where there might be mixups over doctor appointments or temporary jobs. Best days this week have the Moon in Sag, Sunday thru Tuesday. You are full of optimism and affection, just use caution when dining or drinking. You are tempted too often to overdo, especially when going from one holiday event to another.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – A New Moon in Sag activates your solar fourth house of home and family, right where you want it. You insist on hosting the family gathering, partly because you want to put some healthy options on the buffet. You may even host a visiting relative. Saturn in your second house may put a crimp on spending, but you are good at making do, and even better at making many gifts with your abundant talents. Mercury goes retrograde in your solar fifth house, possibly creating garbled messages from children or over party details. Accept rain-checks from some who might not be able to travel to your house this season.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Sag New Moon activates your solar third house of communications and travel; you may spend the month in transit, one way or another. Saturn in your solar first keeps you disciplined. Mercury goes retrograde in your solar fourth house, which may garble instructions to family members. Double-check that your gift list has the right size, color, brand, etc. Also Mars enters your solar fourth house; you add lots of red accents - a male guest may stay over the holidays - increased energy, sports interest, and debate (which we hope is all good-natured).

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Sag New Moon puts the accent on your solar second house, always an area of great interest to you. Saturn sextile, in your solar twelfth, can mean that you must discipline yourself and control against sabotaging your budget. Mercury retrograde in your solar third house sure can mess up communications and transit. Make sure you winterize your car. Mars enters your solar third house, too; it is probably in your best interest to finally speak up in your defense, and get a lawyer if necessary.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from week's start till Monday evening. There's a New Moon at 13 degrees, 28 minutes of Sag at 12:36 am Sunday. Thirteen is a soul number, pointing to soul growth rather than material advantage. Try to express Sag's gift for magnanimity, your inner Mahatma Gandhi. Tuesday's Sun-Saturn sextile to your solar eleventh house may offer an outlet in a non-profit or service organization. An opportunity to do so presents itself under Monday's Moon-Neptune sextile at midday. In the afternoon, a Moon-Mars conjunction can make you argumentative, ready for a debate; is it really worth it to win a fight that settles nothing? Burn off energy instead in an after-work gym session.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 6:16 pm Monday till very early Thursday. The Moon sextiles Venus and then conjoins Pluto overnight; perhaps you get serious about a love interest. You know, maybe it is less important whether the lady has social connections, and more important whether she makes you happy to be around her. A radical thought, I know. You will be unusually talkative under a Moon-Mercury conjunction early Tuesday; it's possibly a day when mentally you are running at top speed. The Moon-Saturn square late Tuesday may see you putting in late hours again; work matters may be frustrating while they sort themselves out on Wednesday. A sibling, relative, neighbor or teacher may have answers to all sorts of problems Wednesday night.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from 2:30 am Thursday till midday Saturday. The Moon squares Venus in Scorpio midday Thursday; you may feel unloved or unappreciated. Who doesn't? But it is important to keep sending out energies that express your own values and your belief in humanity. It will come back to you. A Moon-Saturn trine in Libra may favor taking college exams, or a legal win, or winning a juried competition.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon spends a few hours on Sat., Dec. 11 in Pisces (till early next Tuesday). The Moon makes a series of sextiles to Mars, Pluto and Mercury in Capricorn thru the evening. You may get support from a friend in a personal ambition or venture, and map out a preliminary business plan. You may have to tweak this along, but this has possibilities. Mercury retrograde and Mars entering your eleventh house can cause aggravation with friends over garbled meet-ups. Confirm before setting out!
