Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 30-Oct. 6, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

Venus enters Virgo at 2:59 am Wednesday
. Venus in Virgo suffers from Virgo's habit of being overly critical of others. Paradoxically, they may also suffer from feelings of low self-esteem. They need to experience the perfection that comes from being themselves and maintaining a high level of service. They often dedicate themselves to a cause that engages their mind as well as their emotions. They spread their affections among a lot of people, who may feel that they are being kept at arm's length. They can be effective public speakers, actors and lawyers who simulate emotions very well without losing themselves in those feelings. Famous people with Venus in Virgo include Julie Andrews, Lucille Ball, Diahann Carroll, Anne Bancroft, Steve Lawrence, Eleanor Roosevelt, Mike Douglas, Margaret Sanger.

Pallas Athena enters Pisces again, going retrograde, at 6:17 pm Wednesday. Pallas will be in Pisces till nearly mid-January 2013. I think Pallas is rather more comfortable with Sag than Pisces!

Jupiter goes retrograde at 16 degrees, 23' Gemini at 9:18 am Thursday. Make a note of the degree, because you may notice some Jovian-type things going on the day that the forward, moving Jove reaches that same degree again. Jupiter will retrograde all the way back to 6 degrees, 20' of Gemini on Jan. 30, 2013 and then will dash thru the sign of the Twins until it enters Cancer the last full week of June, 2013. Jupiter stations ask us to raise our consciousness, and apply abstract concepts to one's own situation.

Mercury enters Scorpio at 6:35 am Friday. Mercury in Scorpio is not shallow; this Merc wants to drill down to the nitty-gritty facts – just the facts, ma'am. The downside is that this Merc is not too good at small talk, the stuff that greases the social wheels, unless he or she has made a special effort to master it. Their reticence may come from distrusting others' motives, and they may have reason to do so. This Mercury needs to talk about that fabled “elephant in the room” even if it makes others uncomfortable! We cannot go without mentioning that this Scorpio Merc is a fine detective, capable of analyzing complex material, and can also show great foresight. This Scorpio's words can be especially cutting, even ruthlessly blunt. But you really want this guy on your debate team! This Merc is inclined to read or write detective novels, do medical research, or fight for noble causes. (NOTE: Mercury will retrograde back into Scorpio in November.) Famous people with Mercury in Scorpio include Johnny Carson, Billy Graham, Jonas Salk, Pope John XXIII, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther, and Winston Churchill.

Saturn enters Scorpio at 4:34 pm Friday. Whew, the planets are starting to pile up in Scorpio, hope he can take it. Saturn will go retrograde in February 2013, direct in July 2013, has another retro phase, and finishes up by Christmas 2014. Saturn in Scorpio is a bit of a paradox because this Saturn desires control, at the same time it fears losing command. They can fear losing themselves in a personal or business partnership. And you can't create trust in a relationship where one party is deeply distrustful. While Scorpio is good at putting up walls, they need to learn how to create that synergy of two or more people combining their energies on a common project. Famous people with Saturn in Scorpio include Doris Day, Dick Van Dyke, Everett Dirksen, Queen Elizabeth II, and Arturo Toscanini.

Mars enters Sag at 11:21 pm Saturday. Mars in Sag is very athletic, as well as eager to learn about the world of ideas. One possible pitfall, tho, is that some Sag's are aggressively intimidating about others' beliefs. A mature Sag is able to understand and accept others' ideas and even incorporate them into a larger synthesis. Can be dashing and exciting, but has trouble making a sustained effort. A Sag Mars is very direct and above-board; an “officer and a gentleman” type. Mars will be in Sag until Nov. 16. Famous people with Mars in Sag include: Judy Garland, Rudyard Kipling, Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Everett Dirksen, Joe DiMaggio, Felix Frankfurter, Joan Baez, Billy Graham, Barry Goldwater, Shelley Berman, Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali, Brenda Lee, Prince Charles, and Greta Garbo.
