Your Milky Way Horoscope Oct. 7-13, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

Mars at zero degrees Sag is square Neptune in Pisces at 10:10 pm Sunday
. Mars at hard aspect to Neptune can really sap everyone's energy, and if they are at hard aspect to a natal planet, one could even fall ill to fevers or infections. This transit becomes a test of one's will power! Sometimes you have to keep slogging away even when it seems like a lost cause. The other thing about this aspect is that it becomes easier for some of us – tho of course none of MY readers would stoop so low – to so something underhanded, possibly illegal, all the while justifying it because it looks like there is no other option.

The Sun at 16 degrees Libra trines Jupiter in Gemini at 1:52 am Tuesday. This would be an even more powerful aspect if Jupiter were not weak in Gemini. The trine still lends a protective bubble around the Self, no matter where you go. I don't exactly encourage people to do dumb stuff, but if your heart is set on going over Niagara Falls in a barrel, this is a good time to do it. At least let this trine fill you with such confidence that just knowing you COULD go over Niagara is enough!

Venus at 7 degrees Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn at 4:04 am Tuesday. Venus plus Pluto equals passion. That can be a passion for anything, not necessarily romantic passion. The aspect could probably be best applied to creative or craft work; one might dance more expressively to the music, for example. I'm afraid that this earth-sign passion might be wasted on mere desire to own more possessions, or to gain a monopoly on some commodity.

Mercury at 6 degrees Scorpio is inconjunct Uranus in Aries at 11:38 am Tuesday. Mercury is practical knowledge, and Uranus is insight – but the inconjunct aspect means that it may be uncomfortable to try to integrate an insight into what your existing understanding is, or into your world view. Just keep an open mind!

Saturn at 0 degrees Scorpio trines Neptune in Pisces at 10:38 pm Wednesday. (Mercury is also nearby, being just past a conjunction to Saturn in Scorpio; Ceres is at 2 degrees Cancer, and Chiron at 5 Pisces, too. Ceres might refer to finding the last piece of the puzzle to put together your dream, altho Chiron might say that it injures you in some way to go forward with your plan, or it may hurt to leave behind someone or some thing.) While an aspect between Saturn and either Mars or Uranus can bring an accident or even a broken bone – Saturn with Neptune may impact your health or well-being without you even knowing about it.
An example of a sneaky illness is diabetes, which can work on you for years before you realize that your eyes, kidneys or other organs are being damaged by the disease. Another way of putting it is, Uranus can break a bone, but Neptune can soften it – so conditions like softening or demineralizing of the bones could theoretically occur. (That is, if they contact natal planets or enter a health sector. Even the trine can be negative, making it easy for the damage to be done without your knowing.) On a societal level, the Saturn-Neptune trine harmonizes one's ideals and practical goals – helping one turn dreams into reality. NOTE that this aspect occurs three times: Oct. 10, 2012; about June 11, 2013; about July 19, 2013 when Jupiter is in Cancer to complete the Grand Trine. SUGGESTION: You may wish to do a meditation on turning dreams into reality on Tuesday or Wednesday night. Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 30-Oct. 6, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

Venus enters Virgo at 2:59 am Wednesday
. Venus in Virgo suffers from Virgo's habit of being overly critical of others. Paradoxically, they may also suffer from feelings of low self-esteem. They need to experience the perfection that comes from being themselves and maintaining a high level of service. They often dedicate themselves to a cause that engages their mind as well as their emotions. They spread their affections among a lot of people, who may feel that they are being kept at arm's length. They can be effective public speakers, actors and lawyers who simulate emotions very well without losing themselves in those feelings. Famous people with Venus in Virgo include Julie Andrews, Lucille Ball, Diahann Carroll, Anne Bancroft, Steve Lawrence, Eleanor Roosevelt, Mike Douglas, Margaret Sanger.

Pallas Athena enters Pisces again, going retrograde, at 6:17 pm Wednesday. Pallas will be in Pisces till nearly mid-January 2013. I think Pallas is rather more comfortable with Sag than Pisces!

Jupiter goes retrograde at 16 degrees, 23' Gemini at 9:18 am Thursday. Make a note of the degree, because you may notice some Jovian-type things going on the day that the forward, moving Jove reaches that same degree again. Jupiter will retrograde all the way back to 6 degrees, 20' of Gemini on Jan. 30, 2013 and then will dash thru the sign of the Twins until it enters Cancer the last full week of June, 2013. Jupiter stations ask us to raise our consciousness, and apply abstract concepts to one's own situation.

Mercury enters Scorpio at 6:35 am Friday. Mercury in Scorpio is not shallow; this Merc wants to drill down to the nitty-gritty facts – just the facts, ma'am. The downside is that this Merc is not too good at small talk, the stuff that greases the social wheels, unless he or she has made a special effort to master it. Their reticence may come from distrusting others' motives, and they may have reason to do so. This Mercury needs to talk about that fabled “elephant in the room” even if it makes others uncomfortable! We cannot go without mentioning that this Scorpio Merc is a fine detective, capable of analyzing complex material, and can also show great foresight. This Scorpio's words can be especially cutting, even ruthlessly blunt. But you really want this guy on your debate team! This Merc is inclined to read or write detective novels, do medical research, or fight for noble causes. (NOTE: Mercury will retrograde back into Scorpio in November.) Famous people with Mercury in Scorpio include Johnny Carson, Billy Graham, Jonas Salk, Pope John XXIII, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther, and Winston Churchill.

Saturn enters Scorpio at 4:34 pm Friday. Whew, the planets are starting to pile up in Scorpio, hope he can take it. Saturn will go retrograde in February 2013, direct in July 2013, has another retro phase, and finishes up by Christmas 2014. Saturn in Scorpio is a bit of a paradox because this Saturn desires control, at the same time it fears losing command. They can fear losing themselves in a personal or business partnership. And you can't create trust in a relationship where one party is deeply distrustful. While Scorpio is good at putting up walls, they need to learn how to create that synergy of two or more people combining their energies on a common project. Famous people with Saturn in Scorpio include Doris Day, Dick Van Dyke, Everett Dirksen, Queen Elizabeth II, and Arturo Toscanini.

Mars enters Sag at 11:21 pm Saturday. Mars in Sag is very athletic, as well as eager to learn about the world of ideas. One possible pitfall, tho, is that some Sag's are aggressively intimidating about others' beliefs. A mature Sag is able to understand and accept others' ideas and even incorporate them into a larger synthesis. Can be dashing and exciting, but has trouble making a sustained effort. A Sag Mars is very direct and above-board; an “officer and a gentleman” type. Mars will be in Sag until Nov. 16. Famous people with Mars in Sag include: Judy Garland, Rudyard Kipling, Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Everett Dirksen, Joe DiMaggio, Felix Frankfurter, Joan Baez, Billy Graham, Barry Goldwater, Shelley Berman, Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali, Brenda Lee, Prince Charles, and Greta Garbo.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 23-29, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

Ceres enters Cancer at 3 am Wednesday
. Ceres seems like a natural home for that asteroid, since it is associated with nurturing and food production and preparation. You might feel the urge to preserve or freeze the last produce of the season – and that might be a very good idea, given how this year's drought is likely to affect winter food prices! Ceres in Cancer is not as cuddly as one might expect. Instead, they are efficient caretakers, good trainers and teachers. Think of this Ceres as “Super Nanny”, not as Grandma.

Venus at 22 degrees Leo squares Mars in Scorpio at 4:48 am Thursday. Typically a stressful time for male-female relationships, although it is also known to create sexual tensions that increase interest in each other. Arguments with loved ones bring passions to the surface, and that could uh, get interesting.

We have a Full Moon at 11:19 pm Saturday with a cardinal Grand Cross: Moon (conjunct Uranus, plus Pallas retrograde at 1 degree) at 7 Aries, Sun at 7 Libra, Pluto at 4 Capricorn, Ceres at zero Cancer and also early Cancer rising if in the Midwest. Also tying in a bit more favorably or neutrally are Neptune at zero Pisces, Chiron at 6 Pisces, and Juno at 3 Sag. Moon-Uranus seems to promise that a change agent will step in, and reshuffle the deck. Watery Cancer rising and Neptune-Chiron in Pisces could indicate damage by water, possibly flooding. Cardinal-sign people will most certainly feel some effect on their lives even without a natural disaster.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 16-22, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

Juno re-enters Sag at 1:50 pm Sunday
, Sept. 16. I described this Juno as being extra reluctant to marry due to its extreme desire for freedom and open relationships. This Juno is wedded to its career. Sag, however, after experiencing and considering this Juno from Feb.-May of this year, and probably rejecting the idea of marriage, finds Juno once again at her doorstep and demanding entry. Juno will remain in Sag until mid-December, folks, so this issue will NOT just go away if you ignore it! Perhaps it might be worthwhile to try a long-distance commuter marriage?

Mercury enters Libra at 7:22 pm Sunday. Natal Mercury in Libra is afraid of saying the wrong thing – so much so that they may avoid confrontation and lose their integrity. But when they are able to communicate the things that NEED to be said, in a constructive way, they can re-establish the necessary balance and justice in a situation. Diplomacy, integrity and harmony all act to reinforce each other with a healthy Libra Mercury. I hasten to add that this Mercury is most liable to going back and forth weighing each factor and weighing the arguments of each side, unable to make a decision! Actually if they follow their intuitive grasp of the situation, they are usually right about what needs to be done. Let me add to all their talents that of accents; performers can adopt accents without distortion to their vocal qualities. Famous people with Mercury in Libra include actor David McCallum, Henry Ford II, Margaret Chase Smith, Queen Elizabeth I, golfer Arnold Palmer, and Al Capp.

Uranus at 6 degrees, 57' of Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn at 1:57 am Wednesday. This aspect has been ever so slowly building up to the exact moment of the square. On top of that, Pluto goes direct the day before at that exact degree and minute. So whatever explodes or shakes, is I'm afraid probably going to be a tremendous event. It is possible that an earthquake or tsunami could occur. Given that these planets are in cardinal signs, the event could occur the day of, day after, or even the day before the exact aspect.

Mercury in Libra opposes Uranus at 6:23 pm, and Mercury squares Pluto at 7:21 pm on Thursday. This Mercury makes a nervous T-square to the devastating Uranus-Pluto square of Wednesday. On a personal level, your thinking is challenged by new facts or news. You might be tempted to respond tactlessly. Remember, make you words soft and tender, for you may have to eat them tomorrow! Your mind can work at breakneck speed today, tho sometime carelessly. But you are capable of insights which you can follow up on later.

Let's try to get some idea of WHERE this T-square event might happen. I am not equipped to do any scans of national charts – that is a specialty I leave to others. However, what I will do is look at the New Moon chart of a week earlier for clues. One drawn for the upper Midwest shows safety (Jupiter) to the East – such as New England or the Great Lakes area, and eastern Canada. The axis of the T-square is Pluto which lies to the South-West. Is it possible that the dreaded Big One, the super-quake, could at last strike California? Or a volcanic event in Mexico again? I have to admit that the opposing, empty sign of Cancer is also a possibility as the release point of this tension. That would mean North-east, like Greenland and Iceland. Iceland has been devastated enough by the financial crisis, so I dearly hope that it will not be the site of further suffering. Interestingly, Greenland had a 6.6 quake on August 30 of this year. There was also a 7.3 quake on 11-20-1933 off Baffin Bay.

The Sun enters Libra at 10:49 am Saturday. The worst thing you can do to a Libra is ignore him/her! Libras want SOME kind of relationship with you; they want to know what you want so they can make you happy providing it, therefore they are great hosts and BTW great politicians. They deeply want to be fair, altho they can get mixed up by confusing equality with fairness. High need for approval and appreciation. Has a high artistic sensitivity and music appreciation. Can be very fastidious in dress. A love of justice. Appreciates kindness and shows good manners. Many famous dancers were born under Libra: Rita Hayworth, Ben Vereen, Fayard Nicholas (of the Nicholas brothers), Arthur Duncan, Juliet Prowse. Other famous Librans include Pres. Eisenhower, Ed Sullivan, Julie Andrews, Johnny Carson, Helen Hayes, Mohandas Gandhi, Eleanor Roosevelt, and John Lennon.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The T-square this week stresses all the cardinal signs, altho you work it off by going into action mode. Fire-sign energy gives you a boost on Thursday and Friday when the Moon is in compatible Sag. Try to avoid locking horns with your dad Saturday. You are all wrapped up in your Significant Other this week, who seems lit by the energy of the Sun itself. Don't look twice but you might meet a doppelganger (your double).

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – A hobby may bring some extra income Monday. You are able to connect with audiences successfully on Tuesday. Health houses can be stressed by the T-square transit, so be sure to eat right and get your sleep. Saturday favors dinner and a movie with friends, possibly leaving the spouse at home. The Sun and Mercury enter your solar sixth house this week; the office gets busier, and you make time for health checkups.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – On Sunday, children are stressed about something, maybe you have to get after them to do the book report or explain to them why they cannot just watch TV instead. The Sun and Mercury enter your solar fifth house this week; you feel more playful and creative. You may also organize jaunts to the casino or theatre.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Cardinal signs like yours may be stressed this week by the T-square, so the most important thing is to avoid doing what you normally do in a crisis: hunker down deep in your shell. Midday teases you with daydreams of living on the road or taking a long trip; try to look up an out-of-town friend you could visit. Also the Sun and Mercury enter your sign this week; stand up for justice and fairness wherever you see a wrong being done. No one is better at appealing to others' sense of justice and fair play.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 10:46 am Tuesday till midday Thursday. You moon over some celeb at Tuesday lunch; stop that now. You curl up with a novel that night. Wednesday morn you brood over a lack of reciprocity, but that stuff doesn't matter hon, what matters is what you put in motion. Sit down when emotional news arrives Wednesday pm. You might share a commute with a friend Thursday. The Sun and Mercury enter your solar twelfth house this week, prompting discussion of subconscious urges and behaviors.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 12:34 pm Thursday till Saturday afternoon. You are able to analyze things much more clearly midday Saturday. The Sun and Mercury enter your solar eleventh house this week; you may work on a newsletter, or man a phone bank to get-out-the-vote.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 9-15, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun is conjunct Mercury at 8:44 am Monday
, at 17 degrees Virgo. Virgos will be very busy little beavers. This conjunction can herald the arrival of people in pairs – visitors, repairmen, delivery carriers, etc. Coincidences sometimes occur under this transit, so it can be pretty interesting.

On Wednesday, Venus in Leo trines Pallas at almost 6 degrees Aries. This is very interesting because fire-sign Venus and Pallas are real self-starters – absolutely not the wallflower type! Pallas in Aries can be very creative and innovative in handcrafts or other creative pursuits, altho she often generates more ideas than she can possibly follow up on. But what she does produce is likely to be very beautiful.

Venus at 7 degrees Leo trines Uranus in Aries at 12:45 am Thursday. One is drawn to foreigners or people who have an accent, or sometimes people who are very odd in some way. One can fall madly in love under Venus-Uranus aspects, and the trine makes it likely you will stick together at least oh, four months, maybe longer. Uranus comes and goes, lights up the sky like a flash of lightning and vanishes. But he is sure a fun guy. Also pleasant surprises can pop up, or you could even find a bit of money just lying there in the parking lot.

We have a New Moon at 10:11 pm Saturday. The Moon squares Jupiter in the morning, and is conjunct Mercury the following morning. Mercury and Jupiter both rule education, with Mercury taking the younger students and Jove, the college students. Ideas and facts may be thrown at students too fast to be assimilated at first, but the kids catch on before long. Don't be surprised if your child elects to take a double major.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Monday's Sun-Mercury conjunction in your solar eleventh house makes working or volunteering for a local charity a hopping place to be. The New Moon chart puts Jupiter in your solar eighth house of joint finances; insurance or government aid may become available.
