Your Milky Way Horoscope April 21-27, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Everything was Aries last week. This week, the Taurus and Scorpio axis dominates.

Venus at 8 degrees Taurus opposes Saturn in Scorpio at 3:43 am Monday – note that 8 degrees is a critical degree for fixed signs, so this may have more effect than usual on people with planets in fixed signs. (This point will be reiterated when the Sun opposes Saturn on April 28, at the same degree.) Venus-Saturn oppositions can be problematic we are divided between work (Saturn) and play or enjoyment (Venus), so maybe we call in sick to work, but then it rains at the beach anyway so we go home and wind up cleaning out the junk drawer. There is also the chance of money restrictions, such as the cash machines not working, or you are given a very tight budget to work with for, say, a play's props, forcing you to improvise, and very creatively I might add.

Mercury at 16 degree Aries sextiles Jupiter in Gemini at 11:25 pm Tuesday. Mercury and Jupiter are both mental planets, with one governing practical and manual skills, and the other ruling theoretical principles. A sextile is good for studying any academic subject, taking tests and quizzes, and particularly for oral exams. Cooperative business dealings go well. Even taking short trips is favored. Children benefit from tutors, profs find eager students, and in general the teacher-student relationship is productive.

A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse hits on 5 degrees, 46' Scorpio at 3:57 pm Thursday. Mars and the Sun loosely oppose Moon and Saturn, with a sextile to Neptune in Pisces, hmmm. Sounds like a good time to shoot yourself in the foot, you know what I mean? An irresistible force (Mars) meets an immoveable object (Saturn) and somebody could get hurt (Neptune). Try luring the “object” away from its immoveable position with a sunny smile and an invite to neutral ground, possibly a place with a water feature like a waterfall or pool.

Mars at 4 degrees Taurus sextiles Neptune in Pisces at 9:47 pm Friday. Mars-Neptune aspects are never very good for ordinary robust athleticism, however if one trains oneself in fields that modulate one's energies, with rhythm or done to music, then one can perform very well, and with stamina. Examples are dance, tai chi, swimming, yoga, etc. Also good for poetry, ideals, and artistic skills in general.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. NOTE: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Tuesday's Mercury-Jupiter sextile is key for you this week. You have a knack for explaining how to do things to children in a way that seems simple and easy, and they take to it right away. If you have any interest in teaching, coaching or tutoring, by all means find a place that will allow you to do so. Must get in some workout time Wednesday. The Thursday eclipse affects your money houses, so keep tabs on changes to your accounts.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Ah, this Lunar Eclipse on Thursday might strain you to the max, but you will just reach down deep for some of that excellent fortitude you have, and come up a winner. Friday night favors dancing like mad. Saturday night doesn't favor having friends over unless it is a garden party. Pallas is in Taurus now, and squares Juno; your artistic sense comes to the fore, and you may go into partnership in interior decorating.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Tuesday favors enrolling in a class with a friend, who will make a built-in study buddy. Thursday's eclipse means that health concerns will be uppermost this week and month, either your own or that of the people closest to you. At work, things may go on behind the scenes Friday that you know nothing about, and so a Monday announcement catches you by surprise. You may pick up extra money babysitting this month.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Thursday eclipse affects your children and your friends; sometimes this means that friends are not as supportive of your creative efforts as you would like, but push on and new friends will appear. Vesta enters your sign this week, a place that is as close to home for this wandering asteroid as any; duty may call you to take care of a relative, but build in some respite time. Ceres is also in your sign, where an opportunity to play nanny is definitely in the cards.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Monday favors career matters altho you could get a call from home. Tuesday favors asking a friend for a referral to a professional person. The opposing pulls of career and family will be triggered by this Lunar Eclipse on Thursday, and your great determination to save what is truly important to you will get you through. Stick to routine on Friday. Saturday afternoon could be good for creative pursuits.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo as the week begins, and stays there till early Tuesday. A Sunday morning swim may appeal to you. A female relative may treat you to brunch Sunday. You may be interested in running for school board Monday, but money is an obstacle. Stick to routine matters on Monday, anyway. Your employer might have matching funds for taking a class Tuesday. You may also turn teacher, and look into teaching something like yoga at the health club.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 3:25 am Tuesday till Thursday morning. Mom might make a surprise visit Tuesday night. Your mate might be able to explain something to you in a way that helps you understand it completely. Stick to routine on Wednesday. The Lunar Eclipse on your money house may signify a period of smaller personal budgets, so tighten your belt while exploring ways to grow a sideline. Also, keep tabs on changes to your accounts. Best not to work on papers from work Saturday afternoon.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 6:25 am Thursday till Saturday morning. Things may feel like a tug of war over the next few months, but you will just reach down deep for some of that excellent fortitude you have, and come up a winner. Stick to routine on Friday, although going out for dancing that night is favored. Saturday afternoon finds you in a holiday mood; perhaps a trek to the park or tea shoppe pleases you.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 7:32 am thru the weekend. Plan your Saturday to get chores and errands out of the way in the morning. Mentally, you may be exhausted in the afternoon and resort to reading a novel or watching the tube. Your children will benefit if you hire a tutor to help them through exams and research papers. Thursday's eclipse means that health concerns will be uppermost this week and month, either your own or that of the people closest to you. On Saturday, you make space at home for dancing.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Midday Wednesday brings a surprise gift from a child. Watch the stove or grill carefully Wednesday. The Thursday eclipse affects your children and your friends; sometimes this means that friends are not as supportive of your creative efforts as you would like, but push on a new friends will appear. Friday you may feel like dancing, but have trouble finding a club that plays music you like; maybe play your own records at home instead?

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Duty calls Monday, so off to work you go. Tuesday favors taking a family trek over to the Children's Museum. The opposing pulls of career and family will be triggered by this Lunar Eclipse on Thursday, and your great determination to save what is truly important to you will get you through. Juno has been in Aquarius some weeks now; perhaps you feel moved to help a mate with their career or educational goals.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Your mate offers to babysit the kids so you can meet a friend for Sunday brunch. It is hard Monday to get help finding information. Family members are able to understand appeals for moderation Tuesday when you show them the family finances. This week you consider whether going back to school is feasible. Stick to routine on Friday, although going out dancing at night should be fun. Saturday is just confusing.
