Your Milky Way Horoscope April 13-19, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers-- Please visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might need to see a doctor about it.

Much is being made of the Blood Moon – the Full Moon Eclipse of April 15 at 3:42 am, at 25 degrees 16' Libra. It is accompanied by Mercury at 13 degrees Aries square Pluto in Capricorn at 12:12 am the same day. Mercury is applying to an opposition to Mars at 16 degrees Libra (retrograde) at 7:15 am Wednesday. A Grand Square is in effect --- Not only the Mars in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn, but also Mercury and Uranus in Aries, plus Jupiter in Cancer. So obviously the cardinal sign natives are going to be super-stressed, um, I mean super CHALLENGED by events of the next five or six months, the period of time that the eclipse will be in effect. (Let me also point out that 13 degrees of cardinal signs is a critical degree – things really start to happen, and because they are in cardinal signs, these events may already be in motion at the time of the eclipse!)

I can attest to the fact that this eclipse will be felt even by those who are not Sun-sign members of the cardinals. The cardinal signs occupy my health houses, and things have been building up regarding health matters since late December, and I can no longer work. I will soon be facing more medical interventions over the summer, and can only hope that my docs will do the job right this time around. I have natal planets and asteroids (Saturn, Moon, Mercury, Juno and Pallas) being aspected by eclipse transits.

Venus at 13 degrees Pisces trines Jupiter in Cancer at 9:19 pm Thursday. Venus is a natural ally of Jupiter; you might call them Sugar Baby and Sugar Daddy. Examples of things that could happen on this day: The slot machine actually pays out when you put some coins in! Your grouchy boss buys lunch for the whole department! When you are called to the payments desk at the auto shop, there is no charge for the minor repair! OR, you overdo it at the bar or candy counter and get sick as a dog! Or you might go on a whopper of a spending spree and rue the day when the bills come!

Venus at 13 degrees Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 5:24 am Friday. Romance takes a very intense turn under this transit. If you have someone over for dinner, be sure there are clean sheets on the bed.

The Sun enters Taurus at 11:56 pm Saturday, sneaking in a few minutes before midnight. Sun in Taurus natives are often accused of being lazy but that is just not the case. All the earth signs are generally very hard-working and tend to enjoy physical labor. But Taurus wants to pile up some material security as a result of his hard work, otherwise he just doesn't see the point. Taurus also eventually gets interested in non-materialistic values, such as fair play, kindness, music and other arts and crafts. Whether a Taurean sings on stage or in a glee club, plays a piano or spoons, their creative expressions tend to raise the spirits of those around them. Taurus is generally gifted with common sense and a natural caution. “One step at a time” is the way Taurus reaches his or her goals. They generally have the patience of a farmer, who plants his seeds months before seeing the harvest. As the sign of the throat, they tend to prefer jewelry that either dangles toward the jaw or around the neck – earrings and necklaces in other words, but not bracelets. The best exercise for a Taurus to practice is called “pushing oneself away from the table.” Assuming they can control their weight, the next most likely health threat comes from the neck, either catching colds from an unwrapped neck, or thyroid problems, or jaw problems such as TMJ.

Famous people with the Sun in Taurus include: William Shakespeare, Carol Burnett, Irving Berlin, Fred Astaire, Queen Elizabeth II, Harry Truman, Barbra Streisand, Bing Crosby, Tchaikovsky, Elena Kagan, George Clooney, and Cher.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. NOTE: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Read everything you can about this eclipse since it affects you and your partnerships. Tuesday's Total Lunar Eclipse stresses you as a cardinal sign, due to the planets in a Grand Cross pattern. BTW Juno in your sign opposes Ceres and Vesta in Libra also on April 15, and trines Pallas in Leo; you may get assigned to work with someone who is just what you need although you may disagree about that at first. The Sun enters your second house on Saturday; this generally brings a boost to monetary success.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Total Lunar Eclipse of Tuesday affects your health houses (six and twelve) so be diligent in following your diet and health regimen and your doctor's orders. You might even argue with a practitioner early Wednesday but seriously, that is not a good idea; you need their guidance to get you back on track. Thursday night is fun night with friends; you may even latch onto a piece of luck. The Sun enters your sign on Saturday, which usually signals an upturn for you personally.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - The Total Lunar Eclipse of Tuesday affects your creative axis (fifth and eleventh houses); you may join a group such as a chorus or a theatrical troupe and get a big break. Friends argue vehemently early Wednesday about the latest art gallery show or play. Early Friday evening sees relationships straining to overlook accidental slights. You enjoy catching up with the news with pals early Saturday.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Tuesday's Total Lunar Eclipse stresses you as a cardinal sign, due to the planets in a Grand Cross pattern. Conflicting demands of family and career will be the main focus of the next five or six months, but you and your partnerships are also affected. Time management is going to be key, as well as delegation of some duties to other family members including extended family.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Pallas in Leo makes a trine to Juno in Aries and sextiles Ceres and Vesta in Libra, at the same time that the Lunar Eclipse forms a Grand Square on another degree; you may be a key catalyst or consultant in helping resolve tensions; example: as a marriage counselor or ombudsman. Late afternoon on Friday is favorable for holding a brainstorming session with fellow fire signs, or possibly a pep rally would be another great idea. Early morning and late evening on Saturday are also good time slots for creative thinking and positive affirmations.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Lunar Eclipse of early Tuesday affects your money houses (two and eight); you may have more money coming in but the creditors line up to collect their share, too. I see you cringing Thursday night as your mate and his/her friends dare each other to eat the most whatever or drink the most mojitos. Early Friday evening is not too favorable for a date night; you will feel neglected no matter what. The phone rings off the hook Saturday morning, with friends who have lots to talk about.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 4:33 am Sunday till midday Tuesday. The Total Lunar Eclipse in Libra early Tuesday is a lulu, and you probably don't need me to tell you what it is already bringing into your life. Suffice it to say whatever it is, will probably be effect for the next five or six months. Arguments can break out Wednesday morning; remember that if you want someone to listen, it helps to whisper or speak quietly. Your spouse may surprise you with dinner plans Friday; go along with it. Hubby also is unusually chatty over Saturday breakfast.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 12:20 pm Tuesday till Thursday evening. The Total Lunar Eclipse of Tuesday affects your health houses (six and twelve) so be diligent in following your diet and health regimen and your doctor's orders. Interesting dreams early Wednesday. Wednesday morn favors breakfast or brunch with a dear person, and lunch with a lucky lawyer, judge, chef, or realtor. Late morning also favors doing some brainstorming with other water-sign natives. Finances could get a boost Thursday night

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Total Lunar Eclipse of Tuesday affects your creative axis (fifth and eleventh houses); you may join a group such as a chorus or a theatrical troupe and get a big break. The Moon is in Sag from 5:44 pm Thursday till Saturday night. A sudden craving for sweets can result in packing on the pounds. Early morning is confusing Friday. Kids make you laugh Friday afternoon. Competitive fires flare up over dinner hour Friday. Great ideas occur to you while chatting with someone early Saturday.
CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Lunar Eclipse of Tuesday affects you as it does all the cardinal signs so read all the notes above about that. It falls across your family vs career axis, which suggests that you will be challenged to juggle conflicting demands. The Sun enters compatible Taurus Saturday; your fifth house of fun is activated, and you enjoy time spent with children or attending concerts. The Moon is in Capricorn from 9:28 pm Saturday thru the weekend. The Moon makes no aspects though that day.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Lunar Eclipse of early Tuesday affects your education and communications houses (three and nine); what you know may turn out to be valuable enough that you teach seminars to eager students. The Sun moves into your solar fourth house on Saturday; you may step on your mate's toes and upset the division of labor regarding who is boss of the house; maybe you really don't want a purple bathroom, but I think you could learn to live with it.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Lunar Eclipse of early Tuesday affects your money houses (two and eight); money may come in although you may have to send a chunk of it right out again. An unexpected argument may break out Wednesday morning over money; perhaps a clerk makes an error in handing you your change. Early Friday is especially confusing; you may need an extra cup of java to peel your eyes open. Saturday morning is good for catching up with all the financial news.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 22-28, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun enters Libra at 4:44 pm Sunday. Librans like to talk things out to smooth over any social friction. I am reminded of Dwight D. Eisenhower starting off an interview by Ed Murrow by saying, “ Ed, I've been sitting here for months just waiting till I could have a good long talk about all this with just you,” while they sipped Mamie's iced tea. Ike had to master the art of maintaining harmony amongst multiple egos when heading the European task force during WWII. Librans want to know what you want, so they can keep you happy. Librans demand fair treatment. Sometimes a Libran will expect a Yes from you just because he/she said Please, and might be royally miffed if you cannot indulge the request. Also sometimes the Libran will cave in just to avoid argument, but creating resentment that eventually piles up into a flaming row is not serving the cause of peace. A more mature Libran will try to dish out the cookies or perks according to who values what, while demanding everybody contribute a fair amount of effort to the grand project.

Librans truly enjoy working with a partner. This is true even if she is only holding the ladder while hubby nails the roofing. Thrives on the approval of others, so sometimes winds up in the performing arts. Enjoys harmony in music, and in vocal talents can often sing in a wide range, on perfect pitch, in a pure tone. Dresses carefully to put together an outfit for the day. Offended by vulgarity. Famous people with Sun in Libra include: Eisenhower, author William Faulkner, showman and columnist Ed Sullivan, singer-actress Julie Andrews, late-night TV host Johnny Carson, actress Helen Hayes, Mohandas “Mahatma” Gandhi, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, pianist Vladimir Horowitz, architect Le Corbusier, composer Giuseppe Verdi.

Venus at 17 degrees Scorpio trines Jupiter in Cancer at 5:01 pm Thursday, which is Jupiter's day, BTW. When the two benefics are in easy aspect, life can look very plush. It is also easy to overdo when it comes to sweets, gourmet multi-course dinners, spending in general, or any aspect of the good life. Note if it touches any natal planets for clues as to what you will be tempted by. Some chance of actually winning money under this aspect, but a lot depends on natal planets. You may feel like you are on vacation, spend more money than usual, be generous and treat another couple to dinner, etc.

Venus at 19 degrees Scorpio squares Mars in Leo at 9:32 am Saturday. This is often an aspect of sexual tension. People who are interested in each other may be prevented by social or economic roles from following up, so when they do meet it can get awkward. This is also an aspect that traditionally mean argument between couples – but of course it can be fun to make up. If the Mars is more activated, it can mean taking on a dare to impress someone. If Venus is representing money, it can mean putting in more hours and thereby increasing one's income for the week.

NOTE: Mercury will enter Scorpio next Sunday morning (Sept. 29). Mercury in Scorpio holds his cards close to the chest, and tries to scope out what cards are being held by the other players. (more next week)

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - The Sun enters your solar seventh house on Sunday; you find yourself charming others in interviews or sales pitches, or partnering with a coworker. This is a pretty interesting week for Aries. Uranus in your sign exactly trines Pallas in Leo, enhancing your leadership qualities especially in emergencies. Uranus is also inconjunct Vesta in Virgo, which may force adjustments from necessity.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Sun enters your solar sixth house on Sunday; people are more aware of your efforts at work, and you may concentrate on personal wellness. The week begins with the Moon in Taurus, until early Tuesday. You could meet a brick wall midday Sunday, and altho you might be able to batter it down, it might be best to avoid the mess created. Your mate looks lovelier than ever over Sunday dinner. Very early risers on Monday may feel a sense of well-being that carries over all day.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Sun enters your solar fifth house on Sunday; indulging your creative side enriches your life with crafts, art classes, or music. The Moon is in Gemini from 3:34 am Tuesday till Thursday afternoon. Early Tuesday morning finds harmony between the sexes. The morning commute, however, can be fogged by confusion, detours, or getting lost. Wednesday afternoon finds you energized by your errands and visits. Thursday offers good luck in converting an avocation into a paying proposition.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Sun enters your solar fourth house on Sunday; you find little changes create a more harmonious color palette in your home. The Moon is home in Cancer from 3:24 pm Thursday thru Saturday. You treat yourself after work Thursday. You delve into symbolism Thursday night, possibly arguing into the night over the meaning of some icon. Try to dodge any tug-of-war Friday morning. You enjoy a productive chat with a mentor late Friday morning or over early lunch. You are exceedingly optimistic early Saturday morn. Breakfast with loved ones may include a sweet treat Saturday.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - The Sun enters your solar third house on Sunday; you may act as Social Director this month, sending out invites or arranging bus tours – possibly to art museums. You may make a long-distance cyber-friend via the internet this week. A legal matter may suddenly be resolved, or you may untangle a legal question for someone else. Family members run into some luck Thursday; help them make the most of it. A sibling may finally meet the right person, and you cannot wait to attend the wedding.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - The Sun enters your solar second house on Sunday; you may want to know what certain items are worth, or put things up for sale. You take along a friend to your fave health food store and introduce him/her to better alternates for problem foods. It is possible that this friend or someone else may make fun of your food choices, but laugh it off. A surprise legacy may present itself this week.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - The Sun enters your sign on Sunday; you introduce yourself to busloads of new people in the most charming way possible. And since the Sun will trine Juno, making a station in Aquarius, one of those new people may be the mate of your dreams. With Mercury in late degrees of your sign, having a meeting of the minds is very important. Ruler Venus squares Mars on Saturday; don't pick fights with friends, but maybe you can channel competitive energies into an athletic contest.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - The Sun enters your solar twelfth house on Sunday; people may see less of you as you concentrate on projects. Also the subconscious may be brought to the surface under this transit, whether you want it to or not! Venus in your sign trines Jove on Thursday; make a point not to overdo at dinner. Ceres in Virgo approaches the midpoint of Venus in your sign and Jupiter; a friend may be a catalyst in re-aligning your diet for a healthier you. It is easy to get into arguments Saturday morn; resolve not to sweat the small stuff.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - The Sun enters your solar eleventh house on Sunday; you spend more time helping out a charitable cause or local association. You may make a new friend while at the local bookshop. Go the next avant-garde art show, where you meet a fascinating expert on everything. A career move into health-food products or merchandising may improve your financial situation, or at least provide another income stream.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - The Sun enters your solar tenth house on Sunday; you could receive recognition this month, or you might post your resume here 'n' there. A night out with friends Thursday may tempt everyone to over-indulge, so maybe you could cut things off a bit early. Pluto in your sign is exactly trine Vesta in Virgo this week and next; you find what you need, possibly a long ways off in a foreign country. A financial partnership may present itself late in the week; this really looks like it has possibilities.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - The Sun enters your solar ninth house on Sunday; adventures by air may beckon, such as via hot-air balloon; also courses or books in international diplomacy may interest you. Juno in your sign trines Sun in Libra the second half of the week; you may meet someone new who sure looks like your type, possibly at a class or church. You may have noticed Neptune in your solar second house inflating your bank account or financial statements, but make sure there is something solid underneath it.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - The Sun enters your solar eighth house on Sunday; mergers of any kind may be on the agenda this month, and some may have power struggles. Second-house Uranus receives a windfall from extra work or from converting a hobby into a second income. Children may have a lucky day on Thursday. I don't know if I mentioned that Chiron is in your sign for quite a while yet, so you need to pay attention to health and safety issues at all times.
