Did Nostradamus try to warn us about Donald Trump as the “false trumpet”?

By Milky Way Maid

Recently I obtained a series of books written by Dolores Cannon, a regression hypnotist who authored several books based on her research. This particular series was about the work she did in contacting Nostradamus to ask him to clarify his famous Centuries, books of quatrains written in Old French that predicted a host of events from his time into the far future.
I am not a newbie to the Nostradamus material, having read a couple of other books whose authors took a stab at interpreting the poems. However, you could call me startled when Volume 1 of the series (printed in 1989) seemed to forecast the advent of a Donald Trump type.

Century I-40 says:
The false trumpet concealing madness will cause Byzantium to change its laws.
From Egypt there will go forth a man who wants the edict withdrawn, changing money and standards.

According to Ms. Cannon's interpretation as channeled from Nostradamus, this refers to powerful leaders who are both religious and political. . . He says that “the false trumpet refers to fundamentalist-type religious men who distort the word of God and use for their own ends. He says that several of these men are striving for political power and they are banding together to help as many of them as possible to attain key posts in the government. A lot of these posts are not necessarily splashy or public. . . .”

The part about changing money refers to new laws in foreign countries that make it harder for Americans to change money when traveling abroad. To quote: “He says these men attaining political power will have repercussions all over the world. It will cause many countries in (eastern Europe and western Asia and the Middle East) the whole area there; leaders in this part of the world will become very alarmed by the development of things. They will start changing their laws in reaction to this, making it more difficult for Americans to travel in that part of the world. Some laws in particular that will be changed will be those having to do with the conversion of American money into other currencies and with trading with the United States. It will have negative repercussions.”

A second quatrain also appears to describe Donald Trump. Century V-75:
He will rise high over his wealth, more to the right, he will remain seated on the square stone;
towards the south placed at the window, a crooked staff in his hand, his mouth sealed.

Ms. Cannon wrote: “He says that this refers to a man in the United States. A man who is very wealthy . . . He says that this man will be well known and famous because of his wealth, but his true mission in life will be secret for this man will be a fanatic of sorts. He will involved with such organizations as the American Nazi Party and the Ku Klux Klan. That's why he put in the phrase, “the crooked staff,” to represent the burning crosses of the Ku Klux Klan and the swastika of the Nazi Party. This man's sole ambition in life is towards the overthrow of the American government as it is presently constituted in the twentieth century. He says this man naturally enough will also be involved in politics.”

His mouth sealed” means that he will act in secret. I am going to step in and say that the reference to rising high refers to the tall towers he has built all over the country; it seems reasonable to also infer that “towards the south” could refer to moving to Washington D.C., which is south of his native New York City.

However, Cannon writes that the phrase “towards the south” means that the open activities he indulges in “and the mayhem he likes to cause” is aimed at the southern part of the country “where such mayhem has been somewhat traditional,” as she puts it. She's being very oblique, shall we say, about referring to the continuing culture of glorifying the slave-owning South, suppressing the black vote, and in general keeping black people in a state of poverty.

Anyway, from our experience to date of Donald Trump in the White House, it seems that the Trumpet is really mere “trumpery” --- which the dictionary defines as 1- Showy but worthless finery; 2- Nonsense, rubbish; and 3- Deception, trickery, or fraud.
Nuff said.

AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: Just the Beginning of a Notable Political Career

by Milky Way Maid
The junior Congresswoman from New York is getting a great deal of press – and now even on the astrological websites! I have been astonished at how she attracts more interest than any other new Congressional representative or senator ever – excepting probably the charismatic young JFK when he won his Senate seat.
ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ
born Friday Oct 13, 1989, New York, NY TIME 11:50 am
ASC= 15 SAG MC= 6 LIBRA
SUN= 20.lib MOON= 3.ari MERC= 3.LIB VE= 5.sag MARS= 15.lib JUP= 10.can
SAT= 8.cap UR= 1.cap NEP= 9.cap PL= 14.scorp NN=24.aqu.21'
One of the BIG drivers of her campaign run was her first Saturn return. AOC beat her Republican opponent on November 6, 2018, smack in the middle of the exact return. Her natal Saturn is at 5 degrees of Capricorn, and Saturn was at 5 degrees of Capricorn from November 2–13, 2018. So obviously she had decided to use the Saturn energy to accept more responsibility, duty, and hard work with long hours.
Another key transit, in my opinion, was Jupiter rolling through her Ascendant, Sagittarius. Nothing can be luckier for a Sag rising than to have its ruler, the luckiest planet of them all, putting a big smile on your face to the world.
Let's not forget the impact of Uranus entering Taurus and setting up a trine to her natal Uranus in Capricorn! Uranus is usually described in terms of unreliability or oddness, but in this case the quality of uniqueness best describes her appeal to many segments of her Brooklyn constituency as well as her ready wit when someone tries to take her down a notch for a tape of her dancing. Uranus also rules lucky breaks, which is also a great help when taking on an established incumbent.
I say she is at the beginning of her political career because before you know it, favorable outer planet placements and the nodes will recharge her booster rockets. Her earth-sign Saturn-Uranus-Neptune stellium will benefit from the Saturn-Jupiter conjunction in Taurus in late 2020 which signifies the keynote for the next 20 years. After 2028, transiting Uranus in Gemini will start trining her natal Sun and Mars in Libra. Later transiting North Node will move into Sagittarius and contact her natal Ascendant and Venus.
So I am not too worried that the current criticism from the far right will cut her political career short. If anything, she will just fire back while keeping her eyes on the issues and goals that motivate her most.

A Couple Ways of Looking at Solar and Lunar Eclipse Charts

by Milky Way Maid

[Charts to follow if not uploaded by the time this posts]
Hello, astrology students! Today's lesson is about how to look at Eclipse charts. Actually I will talk about a way of looking at a Solar Eclipse, and a way of looking at a Lunar Eclipse.

The history of astrology tells us that the first recorded observation of a Solar Eclipse was in China, in 2154 BC. In fact, there was an eclipse that year on Oct. 12, but unfortunately the official astrologers were asleep at the wheel, so to speak. We quote:
At that time Hi and Ho corrupted their principles and abandoned themselves to wine. They neglected their offices, forsook their posts, began to confuse the celestial laws, and ignored their faculty. Consequently, when in the third month of autumn . . . the people ran afoot in general consternation. Hi and Ho were dead to their duties of office, not having known or heard of it, and were stupidly perplexed as to the celestial signs, so that they committed a crime which former rulers proscribed against. The regulations in regard to eclipses say: being before the time, the astronomers are to be killed without respite, and being behind time, they are to be slain without reprieve (Sepharial, p. 32-33).”

First, the Solar Eclipse. This method is SOLELY for Solar Eclipses. The proponent of this method is Dave Roell of AstroAmerica aka Astrology Center of America. You can look for a more detailed explanation of his method in the June 11 issue of his newsletter at his website, AstroAmerica dot com.

The first step is to cast a chart for the Solar Eclipse set for your locality – or where you will be at the time of the Solar Eclipse. Take care to convert the time, which is probably given as Eastern Time or Pacific Time, to your own time zone. Note carefully where both the Sun-Moon and the Nodes fall.

Dave notes that Judith Hill notes that solar eclipses are polarized along the lines of the node. I might add that total eclipses occur when the node is 5 degrees or less away from the sun, and partial eclipses occur when the node is more than 5 degrees from the sun. As a general rule, anyway. So, in other words, says Dave, eclipses are really more like hyper nodes – maybe I should capitalize that like this: Hyper Nodes.

Dave simplifies his key to solar eclipses like this: FIRST, note the HOUSE that the eclipse falls in; this will clue you in to the SETTING of whatever event is triggered by the eclipse. SECOND, “convert the SIGN of the eclipse to the house on the “natural” or Aries rising wheel.” The sign will clue you in to the kind of EVENT is triggered by the eclipse. If the sun and the node fall in different houses, the node is preferred – BUT you will have to look at both and make a judgment on which is more active.

Also bear in mind which node the eclipse occurs near, because this will clue you in to whether to expect gains or losses. A North Node eclipse will tend to bring you things or bring a new beginning, and while a South Node eclipse will tend to take something away, or end a situation.

A good example is the eclipse before the Wall Street meltdown of 2008. There was a solar eclipse on Aug. 8, 2008 at 6:14 am; set the chart for New York City. The South Node is in the first house, affecting the whole world. It is in Leo, and Leo (in a natural, Aries-rising chart) is ruler of the fifth house of speculation, in other words things like the stock market – which duly crashed that fall.

I do have a little trouble applying it to the Aurora, CO Batman shooting, tho. The shooting occurred in a movie theatre on July 20, 2012 at 12:38 am to 12:45 am MDT. The Solar Eclipse prior to the shooting was on May 20, 2012 at 5:23 pm MDT. I have cast a chart for the eclipse, so have a look.

The lights are in the eighth house, as one might expect. The eighth house indicates death only sometimes, but here it is literal. Other possibilities would have included beginnings and endings, intense situations, absolute decisions (meaning ones that cannot be taken back), money given to others to manage, a spouse's money, pooled funds of all kinds.

It occurred in the sign of Gemini, which falls in the third house in an Aries-rising chart. The third house rules daily life, errands, siblings, etc. Well that does not seem to fit. However, it would rule malls, I think, since basic shopping for necessities is part of one's daily life. Also, look at what is actually IN the third house in this eclipse chart: bad boy Pluto. And it so happens that Pluto trined Mars on May 16, an ominous transiting aspect if ever there was one. Mars is in the eleventh house of groups of people, so I would probably have avoided hanging around crowds.

Let's move on to looking at some lunar eclipses. I feel that lunar eclipses are more personal than solar eclipses. We can get some idea of what the eclipse will mean to us personally by looking at the chart. At the same time, one has to bear in mind that many times the effects of an eclipse can be so subtle, and be so gradual, that we may never link the eclipse to a growing interest in photography or music, for example, or to meeting someone who later proves significant in the course one's life takes.

I would like to look at the eclipses before the assassination of President Kennedy. Rose Lineman kindly provides both solar and lunar eclipse charts, set for both Washington, DC and for Dallas. The node is in the eighth house in all four. It hardly seems like Pres. Kennedy would have been any safer at home! For the record, Jupiter's placement usually indicates where one is safe. In the case of JFK, Jove is in the fifth house in the eclipse charts, which would suggest that he might have been safe in an amusement park, on Wall Street, in a casino, somewhere with children or artwork.

Yet one must note that the eclipses set for Washington have Sagittarius on the ascendants, while the ones set for Dallas have Scorpio on the ascendants. This alone indicates a more intense cast to the events of the Dallas trip. Also some aspects tie in more sharply to the angles, and volatile planets are much closer to the Midheaven – which is itself a critical degree – in the Dallas charts.

For example, chart rulers Mars and Pluto occupy the tenth house. Rose Lineman notes that Uranus at 2 degrees Virgo is not only nearly atop the Midheaven but is also conjunct the fixed star Regulus, representing “worldly position and power”; that Uranus is almost atop both MC and Regulus does seem to signify the sudden change in who holds the reins of power in Washington.

One cannot isolate an eclipse chart from the natal or progressed charts of the principals involved. For example, Lineman notes that Kennedy suffered from the fact that progressed Moon, progressed Mars, and progressed Jupiter were all in the natal eighth house at the time of his death, AND since they were in Gemini, they squared the lunar eclipse Uranus, Pluto and Mars (in that order) in Virgo.

So you see there are layers upon layers of connections between the events, the eclipses, and all the natal and progressed charts of the principal players involved. I encourage you to play with the chart data given below to make whatever combination charts occur to you. Try making triple- and quadruple-ringed charts.

Venus to Cross Sun During 2012, Too

by Milky Way Maid

The year 2012
is not only the culmination of the Mayan calendar's Long Count, it is not only marked by the Neptune-Pluto square (discussed in a previous entry on this column), it is also the year that Venus makes another trip across the Sun. AND we will also see a solar eclipse within weeks of that Venus transit, one that aligns with the Pleiades star cluster in the sign Taurus.

The ancient Mayans (not to mention astrologer Barbara Hand Clow) believe that the Pleiades was a gateway for the ancients to come to earth or conversely, for shamans of several cultures to expand their minds.

Venus does not cross the Sun but rarely. She makes her visits in pairs, spaced eight years apart. But these paired visits may occur 105-130 years apart. So we are rather privileged to be able to view her transits in this decade with all the high-power telescopes trained on her progress across the Sun.

Venus made a transit of the Sun in June 8, 2004, at 17 degrees Gemini. Venus will make her return trip on June 6, 2012 at 15 degrees Gemini. Astrologer Susan Custer interprets the Gemini transits as presaging advances in communications and shrinking the 'global village.'

For example, the 1631 and 1639 transit was the year that mail service was first instituted, in Denmark and Sweden. In 1874, the Atlantic telegraph cable was completed. Magellan sailed around the globe during the Venus transits in the 1600s. You may read her article on the topic on her website, The Astrology Page dot com, at http://www.theastrologypage.com/Archives/transit_of_venus.htm

The Mayans revered Venus, some might say they feared her even more. But they built temples and other observatories aligned to key phases in her cycle. Kukulkan was deemed a manifestation of Venus. Kukulkan, according to some, symbolized the return of the Christ energy, a time to rebalance the spiritual and material values we hold.

Some transits of Venus have been accompanied by the most dreadful events. The 2004 transit marked the year of the gigantic tsunami that killed 275,000 people. Yet this event triggered a spontaneous outpouring of concern and donations for the relief of the survivors rendered homeless and jobless. A previous transit marked the year that the Spanish conquistadores subjugated Mexico.

The fact that this second leg of the series occurs in Gemini may hold out some hope that we may see an advance in communications or internet capability, similar to the Sagittarius transits in the 1600s.

Let's look at what else happened in 2004 for more clues. On Jan. 4, 2004, Spirit, a NASA Mars Rover, lands on that planet. (It ceased communicating all too soon but was fixed remotely and resumed its chatter on Feb. 6.) The Queen Mary 2 is christened on Jan. 8. (She embarks on her first Trans-Atlantic crossing on April 16.)
On Feb. 12, the city of San Francisco began issuing marriage licenses to gay couples who wished to wed. Massachusetts legalizes same-sex marriage on May 17.
On March 15, the discovery of the farthest natural object in the solar system (so far) was announced with the naming of Sedna. On March 29, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia join NATO.
On April 1, Google introduced gmail.
On May 24, North Korea bans mobile phones. On May 26, the New York Times publishes a list of its journalistic failings, including flawed reporting about the buildup to the 2003 launch of the war in Iraq.
On June 11, the probe Cassini-Huygens makes its closest flyby of Phoebe.
On June 21 and Sept. 29, the first privately funded space plane achieves space flight, SpaceShipOne. On June 24, New York state declares capital punishment to be unconstitutional.
On Dec. 8, the Cuzco Declaration is signed in Cuzco, Peru, establishing the South American Community of Nations. On Dec. 25, Cassini orbiter releases Huygens probe which successfully landed on Saturn's moon Titan on January 14, 2005.
(Events listed above are from the HistoryOrb.com webpages.)

So we can see that 2004 was not just about gloom and doom and disaster, although some terrible hurricanes, earthquakes, and of course the Dec. 26 tsunami occurred. The year was also marked by private space travel, solar system discoveries and exploration, gmail, gay marriage rights, and the expansion of international working groups (NATO, the South American Community of Nations).

In 2012, we may see more ordinary people embark on space flights, the scientific conclusions of some of the 2004 landings may be released, gay marriage may once again go forward, and greater international cooperation.

Let us hope so, anyway.

RE the solar eclipse of 2012, let me look in the ephemeris... NASA shows an Annular Solar Eclipse on May 20 – actually May 21 in Asia. Its path skirts the edges of the East China Sea, Japan, the Aleutian Islands, then to California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Texas. It is at zero degrees Gemini, reinforcing the Venus transit later in the same sign. BTW there is a conjunction of Saturn with the star Spica on May 11, the second of a series of contacts between them.

A chart cast for Washington D.C. on May 20, at 7 pm shows Mars high and conjunct the MC at 10 degrees Virgo. The Ascendant is 27 degrees Scorpio. Venus is setting and the Sun and Moon are just above the horizon in the West. Jupiter and Mercury are just below the horizon. Pluto is in the second house, Neptune in the third near the IC, Uranus in the fourth, Saturn in the eleventh. The MC and Mars trine Pluto. Venus is trine Saturn. Mercury is semisquare Uranus. Jupiter is sesquiquadrate Pluto.

January 15, 2010 A Very Eventful Day in Astrology: Mercury Direct and a Solar Eclipse with Venus

by Milky Way Maid

I had to send out this bulletin because I hardly touched on the Annular Solar Eclipse of Jan. 15 in my regular weekly column. This will serve as the “What Will 2010 Bring to You?” article that I promised at the end of 2009. Not only does it kick off the first month of the new year and new decade, the eclipse is conjunct Venus, and the day also sees Mercury go direct. Talk about multi-tasking! There are portents affecting love, business (especially Big Business), government, transit, mail and email and all the other communications and tele-communications that tie our world together, and probably all the transfers of money that go on every second from one bank on one side of the world to another bank on the opposite side of the world. This is reiterated by the fact that the chart has Capricorn straddling the second and third houses in a chart set for Washington DC or even for a midwest location.

The eclipse is at 25 degrees 2 minutes CAPRICORN. It is the longest annular eclipse to occur this century with a duration of 11 minutes 08 seconds. The eclipse point is at one degree Capricorn, in the Vedic or sidereal system. The eclipse will begin at 05:14 Universal Time (UT) and end at 08:59 UT. This is about 2 hours and 45 minutes, and by some rules of thumb, that means that this eclipse's immediate effects will last nearly three months; its long-term effects may last nearly three years. And because Capricorn is a cardinal sign, you may actually start having 'events' in your life as much as six weeks ahead of the eclipse.

Those with planets conjunct the eclipse may feel a 'stop' signal in their lives. They may get a message from the Universe that they are not on the right track to getting what it is they want, or rather what is the best thing for them. Capricorn, as a very practical sign anyway, and at 25 degrees it is a very practical, here-and-now phase of that or any sign, and the conclusion I make is that this eclipse carries messages about what is actually working or going to work for you -- not what you wish would work, or what ought to work according to some textbook.

BTW according to another astrologer, the ascendant of the Federal Reserve is 24 degrees Capricorn. So we ought to keep an eye on any hints in the news about whether the role of this institution is in for a shakeup or alteration in any way. Has having a Federal Reserve actually worked for the United States?? Are we better off with it or without it? Those are questions that require a hard look and honest answers.

Much is being made of the fact that this eclipse contacts President Obama's Saturn exactly, which is positioned in the twelfth house. It is also widely conjunct his Jupiter a zero degrees Aquarius. In addition, the eclipse also contacts the 26 Capricorn Midheaven of the Jan. 2009 inauguration chart. He may have to deliver some bad-tasting medicine, you might say, to the American public. He may have to make some hard choices that he wished he did not have to make. And he may have to come clean about some sweetheart deals to Big Business or Big Banks in last year's bailout bills. These are all going to bring him down to the level of mere mortals instead of Chosen Ones, but hey, we are being called to deal with practical realities not textbook examples by this eclipse in practical Capricorn.

Mercury, which goes direct the same day, is conjunct Pluto in the second house and square Saturn in the eleventh house. Delays and misunderstandings may rule the day, so postpone signing contracts or holding important meetings or speeches. We are not saying you should stay home and hide under your blanket, but be aware this is a better day for bringing up matters for clarification rather than uttering final pronouncements.

And many of those matters will certainly be related to money and/or love, since Venus is standing at the side of the Sun-Moon wedding. Let you and your honey have a real heart-to-heart over what is really important to both of you. It is much more important, for example, to have a low-key date every week (say, at the local soda shop over a nice ice cream sundae) rather than a big, expensive vacation once a year. And maybe if you are able to meet each other at the soul level, all those other mis-communications will resolve themselves.

Readers may go to http://www.shadowandsubstance.com/ to view a nice animation of the eclipse path as it begins over the Congo basin of Africa, progresses to Nairobi, crosses the Indian Ocean to touch the southern tip of India, then goes on to Mandalay and China.

What does an eclipse in Capricorn and conjunct Venus portend? Most of the answer to that question will come from your natal chart and which house is affected, and whether there are any natal planets affected by conjunction or other aspects.

ARIES: The eclipse falls in your solar tenth house of career and reputation. Venus high in your chart certainly gives you a very good chance at earning more cash this year. The North Node is also very near the eclipse, and promises that the events that transpire in 2010 will be favorable to your soul development. Mercury and Pluto in your solar ninth house are incredibly favorable for publishing or telecom ventures. Do you have a book project in the works? This is a good year to promote your book using the internet, social media, word-of-mouth campaigns, and other mass communication media.
TAURUS: The eclipse falls in your solar ninth house of travel, college, publishing and law. Where have you failed to follow through on any of these issues? With Venus conjunct the eclipse, love or cash are somehow tied in with these areas. Do you have a book project? You may finally find a publisher who extends a handsome advance. Prospective college students may locate loans and grants. Legal cases may finally come to a conclusion where you are awarded a just sum in compensation. But you did not have the right information or contact info until now, and so you can finally move forward on commissioning the right attorney, writers' agent, or whatever to represent you in your ventures.
GEMINI: The eclipse falls in your solar eighth house of wills, estates, insurance, taxes, loans and debt. Geminis will have a great opportunity to clear their financial decks of the burden of debt. If you are deeply in debt, get the proper help you need and listen, it should not cost you anything. Look up your state online, and there will be state offices with a list of bona-fide counselors to help you learn to manage your finances. Go online also to find info on what you need to know in order to contest an insurance denial, or refile your taxes, or any of a million things related to these financial issues. The eighth house also covers generational matters, which means that families may see a new addition, elders may come to live with an adult child, and adult children may come boomeranging back to their parents' home.
CANCER: The eclipse falls in your solar seventh house of partnerships and marriage. You will have cleared up the communications difficulties with your prospective partner, and can now move forward with drawing up contracts specifying your division of responsibilities. You may have been stymied in finding a counselor or other help in ironing out any difficulties in your marriage, but now you finally locate a book, counselor, or program that works for you. You might look up the book, “The 5 Love Languages”, which is probably available at your library.
LEO: The eclipse falls in your solar sixth house of health and occupation, as well as hobbies. Here again, one's hobby or avocation may become a second source of income for you, if you are able to figure out how to communicate your skills to the public. Learning a few marketing skills would benefit you now. Perhaps you can share ad space with a related service company, or simply put an ad on Craigslist like everyone else. Guard your health, and control your intake of sweets (Venus rules sugar). You can greatly improve your health over the year to come if you are diligent about taking painless baby steps to improve your diet and exercise regimen.
VIRGO: The eclipse falls in your solar fifth house of children, sports and risk-taking. Venus smiles on you for 2010 if you are hazarding the stock market or other investments, or if you gamble on sports events, or take other calculated risks. Be very careful that you understand the game, tho. Venus may bring another child into the family, or at least a house guest who is quite charming and attractive. If you have been trying to conceive or adopt, you should finally find out what agency or clinic can be of the most help to you in achieving your goal. Virgo athletes may win scholarships.
LIBRA: The eclipse falls in your solar fourth house of house and family. Perhaps you finally manage to get your home loan adjusted in the mortgage relief program signed by Pres. Obama. Your home is very, very important to you Librans, and you have fought tooth and nail to save it all through this horrible mortgage crisis. Now at last some light shines at the end of the tunnel. You find out what info was missing from prior applications for relief, and your request sails through. Family matters brighten, and you are able to express the love that you really feel for one another. Perhaps you are able to live in some kind of extended family arrangement, possibly with one family living upstairs and one downstairs.
SCORPIO: The eclipse falls in your solar third house of siblings, neighbors, local schools, automobiles and transit, and your own community. You may be able to mend fences with estranged siblings (or with problem neighbors), and finally express the love that you feel for each other. Repairing and opening the lines of communication will be paramount in the following months and long-term.
SAGITTARIUS: The eclipse falls in your solar second house of money and personal resources. This does not promise lottery wins, Sag, this is just a promising indicator that your efforts at work will continue to be recognized and compensated accordingly. But it also could indicate a change in jobs, with the new job paying more than your present position. Make sure you understand all the details of the compensation package, because employers are not throwing money at employees for nothing. Check out the manager's or president's record with the company or prior companies.
CAPRICORN: The eclipse falls in your solar first house of self and appearance. This eclipse affects you the most personally, not just in your material needs but also your innermost emotional needs for love and affection and acceptance. Capricorn often is treated as Mr. Mealticket because they are quite good at making money, but they really need to know that they are loved for themselves as well as for how well they provide for their wives and families. I think that this eclipse will bring you a special someone who does love you for yourself, although the communication part of the relationship may well need ironing out first.
AQUARIUS: The eclipse falls in your solar twelfth house of privacy and retreat and hospitals. This eclipse may bring you an opportunity to withdraw and concentrate on developing a special talent or project. Writers may finally get the chance to attend a writers workshop or retreat, or musicians may get invited to a Chautauqua music camp. And if any of you have unfortunate drug habits that you wish to be rid of, then a stay at a progressive detox facility may help you to finally shake off a self-destructive lifestyle.
PISCES: The eclipse falls in your solar eleventh house of hopes and wishes, as well as friends, groups and social and charitable organizations. You may join a charitable organization or one that provides grants or special events such as Make-A-Wish. OR you and your significant other may join a club together, hoping that the shared experiences will help keep you together.

In addition you may try looking at which house is touched by this eclipse in your NATAL chart. Use the list that follows here. My thanks to Kaye Shinker for this list.

1.The appearance you present to the world -- personality/persona, image, appearance.
2. The income you acquire one dollar at a time
3. The vehicles in your life, siblings and neighbors, community, local schools, how-to.
4. The home, your house, where you start and finish your day. Family matters too.
5. Entertainment and your ability to take a risk; children, games and sports, stock market.
6. The actual work you accomplish; hobbies, health.
7. Your partnerships: business, and otherwise
8. Insurance and taxes, loans, debts.
9. Travel and higher education
10. Career, reputation, honors and rank.
11. Earnings and dividends resulting from career; friends, charities, organizations, all groups
12. Chronic problems, enemies, retreats, hospitals.

Then, one may take note of which planets are near or are aspecting the eclipse point. If the eclipse contacts your Sun, you may experience a milestone and find new ways to make money. Your work increases your income, and you find intelligent ways to set aside the extra money you have earned. If the eclipse contacts the Moon, you may take great risks with your money, and it may actually pay off. Income can be volatile. And the biggest impact on your life is that you may move to a new home.

Eclipses that contact Mercury improve your chances for success in schooling and other intellectually demanding programs. You may be in transit a lot, either driving on the road or piling up the frequent-flyer miles. Eclipses that contact Venus improve your chances of winning money, prizes, and other bonuses during the years following the eclipse. Business partnerships formed now can be very successful, and you enjoy the pleasures that money can bring you. Eclipses that contact your Mars may bring a desire to take risks, so be careful. It is great for buckling down to outline your goals and taking steps to achieve them!

Eclipses that contact Jupiter increase your income and returns on investments, but also you may decide to spend on capital improvements, hopefully ones that will increase your income in years to come. Eclipses that contact Saturn help you learn to drive a good bargain, and thrift becomes an ingrained habit. There is nothing wrong with buying on sale, after all. You tally up your accounts and analyze where your best profits are coming from.

Eclipses that contact Uranus may bring sudden opportunities in whatever house is affected. It may be a business or travel opportunity, for example, but it may carry some risk which you need to research how to manage successfully. But it will probably be worth taking that risk.

Eclipses that contact Neptune revitalizes your creativity; your avocation may become your vocation. Your hobby may become your business if you can finally figure out how to present it to the paying public. Eclipses that contact Pluto serve to close a chapter of your life. Maybe you need to scale down possessions in order to move into a smaller place; Pluto will give you the strength to consign items to the trash or the Goodwill box. You may have a household or a business where you have to prune the payroll; Pluto will give your the strength to make these hard decisions.

And a final note: If you have a relationship that is troubled, or that you wish to resume, you might try the 40-day prayer. It is a very simple ritual that requires only that you repeat the following words at least once a day: “(name of other person), I am praying to you. Thank you, (name) for everything you have done for me. I am sorry for anything I have done to you.” Many stories of reunions or phone calls out of the blue could be related here.

Milky Way Astrology Looks at The Year 2009 in Short; Plus a Brief Snapshot of 2009 for the Signs

By Milky Way Maid

Happy New Year, Everyone!
Probably lots of you expect 2009 to be a real bear of a year, judging from the events of the past four months. But 2008 was a whole different set of transits by Pluto and Mars and Saturn et al (everybody's bogey men) ... plus Jupiter, too. For the most part, all of them have completed the heavy work of that cycle.

First, Pluto. He is the main culprit in the Wall Street meltdown last fall. While Pluto dipped a toe into the next sign, Capricorn, the first six months of 2008, he rushed back into Sagittarius to finish up the cleanup job he had begun back in Nov. 1995. Remember back then when Pluto in Scorpio had brought us (among other things) the AIDS scourge, and we all thought that it would spread to everyone, not just gays, and we would all die horrible lingering deaths? Pluto was delivering to all of us the consequences of our actions, on a mass scale. It is too easy to blame gay people, when the cause was really our 1970's promiscuity.

Now Pluto has delivered the coup de grace to those with a Sagittarian Achilles heel: Religious and spiritual leaders, athletes, actors and other performers, lucky gamblers and speculators in the stock market. Recall all those scandals splashed all over the news about wayward priests, athletes on steroids and other drugs, actors winding up dead or in-and-out of rehab, and now those wizards of high finance? The wolves of Wall Street are the last ones in line for their comeuppance. They sucked the money out of banks with fraudulent loans and Ponzi investment schemes. They told us to go ahead and write loans that would never be repaid, and sold the risk to other suckers. Now they are all going down, and we are left hoping to God that they do not take innocent bystanders down with them.

But Pluto is moving into Capricorn for good in 2009 (it actually re-entered Capricorn around Thanksgiving this year). That means the end of all the Sag high-flyer bloodletting and we can try to mop up the mess they left behind. But wait, what is Pluto going to do next? I'm afraid we have not seen the last of the corporate scandals. But instead of the investors/speculators being the source of the scandals, it will be the execs themselves, and especially the top tier of Chief Executives who make the rounds of major corporations, milking them to death and escaping with the proceeds. The dark underbelly of Big Business will become public knowledge. We will also probably see scandals about the other main Capricorn sphere of influence, Big Government. Where is government really getting all the money that is allocated in the annual budgets? Does that money really come from taxes? Does that money really exist?

But on to Mars. Mars enters Capricorn on Dec. 27, keeping company with Pluto like a pair of hit-men on the loose. One holds you while the other beats you up. Mars, according to astrologer Barbara Koval, is the money made from fees and taxes. “Mars rules other people's money or value that is shared or used without having full control. Mars is a loan. Mars is debt...Mars always represents those transactions that are represented as 'cuts'.”

By cuts she means any fee that is charged for doing the transaction, whether it is a sales tax or a service charge or a commission. These cuts really 'cut' into one's profits and can make the difference between making or losing money on a deal. Mars enters the business sign Capricorn just as credit card companies are raising rates and fees and lowering limits for cardholders. Oh, you don't want to accept their ratejacking, you say? Fine, just terminate the card and so long, buddy. BTW Mars enters Aquarius in February, so watch out for raised fees for your telecom and internet carrier or the end of unlimited texting.

Saturn is still in Virgo, so we have not seen the end of lower yield due to drought, etc., or of higher prices in the grocery store. Saturn will not be done with this cycle till November 2009. While there is light at the end of the tunnel, millions around the world could starve before we get out of the tunnel. The positive spin: Meantime, we may have to eat meat the way that the Orientals do, as a condiment to a dish rather than a separate course. This may be a healthier way of eating, in the end. Virgo is the most health-conscious sign, and Saturn gives us the discipline to both manage our food budget and eat less.

Jupiter moves into Aquarius in January, too. It resides there until January 2010. Jupiter often creates a glut of something so that prices fall. This is good news for consumers who are getting shell-shocked by rocketing prices in other goods and service. However, a great deal on a giant screen TV or new computer is fine, but you cannot put that on the dinner table and it does not help pay the mortgage or rent. All those shiny TVs that went unsold at Christmas are just sitting there, and vendors will be desperate to sell. I suppose if the price gets low enough, you might be able to build a little hut out of a truckload of them.
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 > Whatever sphere of work you are in, I cannot imagine you sitting on the sidelines. Aries will see a problem that needs to be solved, and by golly will get up and do something about it. You're the leader, and people will follow you if you add a smidgen of charm and common sense.
Jupiter moving into your solar eleventh house of friends suggests that your network of social contacts and clubs will be a source of assistance if you should need help. Neighbors and relatives can also be a source of valuable professional insights, due to the influence of asteroid Pallas Athena in your solar third house. Pluto and Mars in your solar tenth house of career could mean layoffs and cutbacks at work. Pluto there can also mean that you move forward on plans for your own business. The South Node in Leo in your solar fifth house can mean you fall back on experience in child care, entertainment or the arts for extra money.
The only worrisome note is Saturn in your solar sixth house of health (and also work). Saturn can weaken one's health, altho Arians are some of the hardiest people around. But Saturn also gives you the discipline to stick to your regimen of exercise and healthy food (asteroid Ceres is in Virgo, too). Avoid all the junk food and read labels!

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 > The asteroid Pallas Athena has moved into your solar second house of money; maybe you have already gotten a new financial advisor (possibly a Gemini), and just maybe that new advisor is yourself! New Year's eve will probably not find you partying the night away. You are in the mood for some classics, maybe the symphony or ballet, maybe some classic movies on the Turner network. The other possibility is baking up a storm with the kids so that you have plenty of bread and sweets into the new year.
Legal or contract issues could come to a head in 2009, due to the influence of Pluto in your solar ninth house. Taureans with planets in latter degrees of the sign could see a positive outcome due to the presence of Mercury and Jupiter at the end of Capricorn as we usher in 2009. (No guarantees, of course. Seek some experienced legal advice for best results.)
Jupiter will enter Aquarius, your solar tenth house of career in January, and I bet you will breathe a sigh of relief when its effects take hold. Taureans can have a lazy streak, true, but they really appreciate doing a hard job and getting the satisfaction of seeing results from their efforts. Jupiter may indicate that the job pays well, or it may mean that you are involved in a counseling, political or performing role. Jupiter rules law and lawyers and judges, but also performers of every kind like actors of stage or screen. Jove also rules kings, government and politics, publishing and counselors (lawyers, social workers, consultants, professional advisors of all kinds). Your career will be more fulfilling even if the paycheck is not as large as your old one.
The asteroid Vesta has moved into your sign, and will visit you till April. It will be interesting to see how this affects you. Will you get involved in a home security business? Will you renounce the world and become a monk? Vesta in Taurus is conflicted between desire and duty; you may also seek your own Holy Grail to answer the question of what is the meaning of your life.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 > Many Geminis have become the go-to person in their department or in their field. Possibly this is due to the effects of the asteroid Pallas Athena moving into their sign. Geminis absorb lots of data quickly and easily and are quite happy to inform others about all the little angles and shortcuts. One caution: you may try to start too many projects at once, so focus a bit.
Your house is solid, possibly old-fashioned, and may be furnished either with antiques or lots of shiny metal thingies. You're a bit of a neat freak when it comes to your home. You might have started a vegetable garden to grow some of your food. Geminis love miniatures, by the way, so I bet you have cherry tomatoes and baby eggplant, etc in your plans for the next garden. You have become much more health conscious about your diet, and have dropped your favorite junk foods one by one.
You may be in the process of winding up some family estate matters or working out a new tax strategy. Jupiter will be leaving your solar eighth house of estates and moving into Aquarius shortly, which is your solar ninth house. The ninth house rules publishing, religion, higher education, and law. Any one or all of these fields may be activated in 2009 by the the presence of Jupiter. If you have any plans to publish (or self-publish), now is the time to get that draft finished and polished it. If you have some ambitions to run for office or teach at a local college, rev up your network of contacts.

CANCER - June 21-July 22> Cancer is one of the cardinal signs, so it is just as much an executive or go-getter as Capricorn or Aries. So often Cancer is stereotyped as a home-and-family sign, and of course those things are important to us all. But you are also concerned with your career and community. Saturn in your solar third house of neighborhood may mean that you have taken a position of responsibility in local government or with a community organization.
At the same time, you might find that you want some time to yourself. Perhaps a friend has a little getaway in the woods where you like to go to restore your soul. Perhaps you go on an organized retreat (or are the one who organizes it), or join a club that delves into spiritual matters. You could find any or all of those activities inviting and fulfilling this year.
January may be especially difficult for you because both Mars and Pluto occupy your solar seventh house of partners and the public. If you work in a position where you are in contact with the general public, do not be shocked if you are the target of verbal abuse or worse. Mars, fortunately, will move on. These planets will also affect your marital relationship; you may have to get family counseling to deal with the economic and other pressures affecting your marriage.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22> Jupiter will move into your solar seventh house of partners, Aquarius, in January to visit for the year. Your spouse may be more helpful and generous than usual. Unmarried Leos may get married to a very attractive person with a good career and connections.
The asteroid Vesta is moving into Taurus, your solar tenth house of career, till April. Vesta in Taurus is in conflict between desire and duty. You may have to make some sacrifice of personal time in order to meet public or career commitments. This will be a difficult winter and spring for you, but at least it is not a long-term situation.
Ceres, the asteroid of nurturing and agriculture, is in your solar second house of money and resources. It is possible that you earn some money by nursing or child care or truck gardening. Ceres helps you find places to park your money where it will earn some steady growth. You are becoming more efficient with your resources, and are learning to curb that Leo habit of excessive spending.
The problematic area is your solar sixth house of health and work (the job that you do because it is just a job). Pluto and Mars are there this January. Mars will move on but Pluto is there for the long-term. These suggest layoffs and cutbacks at work, or serious, chronic health issues. Don't let the stress of the current economy make you eat too much or drink too much. Remember, we love ya, Leo.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22> The asteroid Ceres and Saturn in your sign emphasizes your urge to nurture and nurse others. Some Virgoes focus instead on home cleaning or sales prep.
Jupiter moves into Aquarius in your solar sixth house of health and mundane work. Perhaps you can snag a job in the healthcare field. Your own health and energies should be excellent this year, altho Jupiter tempts everyone to overdo when it comes to food and drink.
The asteroid Pallas Athena is in your solar tenth house of career. Pallas here lightens the load of responsibility; you feel more comfortable with exercising authority and with yourself. BTW, Vesta in your solar ninth house may give you an opportunity to travel with a purpose. This is not just a pleasure jaunt, it is something related to work or career, or possibly self-enrichment. (Examples: a professional seminar, an Elder Hostel tour, a health spa)
Uranus in the solar seventh house of partners can be problematic. Uranus has been there for four years already, so you must be familiar with the situation. Maybe your spouse is not there for you, or travels for his job. You either have a close rapport, to the point of being psychic, or you feel like strangers with nothing in common. Your spouse may express Uranus with a career as a computer geek, electrician, psychologist, chemist, or even astrologer.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22> First off, I have to raise a warning about the entrance of Pluto (accompanied by his little troublemaker pal Mars) into Capricorn, your solar fourth house. This is sure a sign of impending trouble for a home, so it might be prudent to have regular safety inspections and also have a bug man check for termites and other pests. While it is theoretically possible that you might marry into the ranks of the uber-rich (which is another manifestation of Pluto in the fourth), it is more likely that your home is vulnerable to the passage of time.
Jupiter enters your solar fifth house of love affairs and entertainment and children. You could have a fabulous streak of luck at the casino, but it is more likely that you will have more beaux than you can accommodate, or that you will find fulfillment in creative expression. If you can play an instrument, see if you can offer your skills in a weekly visit to a nursing home or in teaching youngsters. Venus and Neptune are already there, and they both also enjoy music and the arts.
Uranus is in your solar sixth house, and has been there for the past four years. It might be good to have your primary physician review all your medications to see if some are duplicating or negating the effect of another. Try to make a point of setting regular hours so you get adequate sleep, too.
The asteroid Pallas Athena is in your solar ninth house of higher education (among other things) is a great placement if you are interested in teaching or lecturing. Perhaps you only make up the visuals for others' lectures (think Power Point), or organize day-long seminars on a topic of interest. Sounds like fun.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21> Rah for you, Scorpio, you may one of the lucky ones who gains a new home this year. I say that because Jupiter enters your solar fourth house, Aquarius. If you already have your family home, then it may signify an addition to the family or a guest. You might host a student visitor from abroad, and that might provide an interesting source of information about how people live in other lands. Jupiter will join Venus, Neptune and the North Node, as well as Chiron.
Uranus in the solar fifth house, Pisces, has been giving you a quirky sense of humor for four years already. You may also have learned to enjoy using the computer more, and it really has opened another world to you. It is possible that the transiting sextile between Uranus and Pluto (entering Capricorn in the third house of communications) signifies that you are finally able to grasp how to use computers to communicate with masses of people, instead of just emailing your friends individually. No, I do not mean for you to start spamming. But I think that you will find some online platform for your writings so that you begin to reach many more people than before.
The asteroid Vesta moves into Taurus and your solar seventh house. This is such a self-sacrificing sign for Vesta to be, and I am not sure that it is too healthy for you. Vesta makes you live thru others and deny your own needs for others, and we all know how frustrating that can be over the long term. Fortunately Vesta will only be here till April.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21> I am sure you will be quite glad to see Pluto leave your Sun Sign for good! But now it enters your solar second house of money and finances, and that could be a whole new jar of pickles. Of course it is remotely possible that you strike oil, or inherit billions from a long-lost Rockefeller. But it is more likely that you invest your funds with a large firm, in bonds, or in your own business. Pluto joins Mars, the Sun, Juno, Mercury and Jupiter already visiting Capricorn.
Jupiter moves into Aquarius, your solar third house, January 5. It will stay there for the full year. Jupiter here could prompt a local publishing venture, maybe a fundraiser cookbook for a school. If you are in the field of education, you could get a promotion to an administrative post, or even run for a school board position. Jupiter rules politics, higher education, publishing and printing, religion, and law.
Uranus has been in Pisces, your solar fourth house of home and family, for four years already. Your home might be unusual, either very old or very newfangled with all kinds of electronic gadgets. You may even live in a houseboat, so you can take off when you need a change of scene. Uranus can denote an estrangement from family, which is unfortunate, but some families just do not respect each other as individuals.
Vesta in the solar sixth house may bring a job that has intrinsic rewards but little in the way of material rewards. You may even do a job for free just because you feel it needs to be done. You might be paid, but have to buy supplies out of your own pocket. Better save your change in a jar to cover those expenses.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19> Pluto enters your Sun sign and you could refresh your dress and hairstyle, even revamp your image and career. Of course it is remotely possible that you suddenly enter a high-ranking job that comes with lots of power and perks, a kingship for example, or at least a baronetcy. But is more likely that you purge everything that no longer has meaning for you. In fact, “purge” may be the right word for what is going on inside. Everything that is out of sync with your true values is going to go out the window, so get ready.
Jupiter enters your solar second house of money; how nice for you. It may not mean that you suddenly make a lot more money; it can mean that you are spending more than your income. It can also mean that your source of money, your job, is protected for now, at least.
Uranus has been in Aquarius in your solar third house of communications for four years already. Besides denoting electronic gadgets and computers and wireless, it also rules foreign languages. (Uranus is foreign, and the third house is language.) You may benefit from studying a second or third language in order to gain or keep employment.
The asteroid Vesta moving into your solar fifth house of children and enjoyments can inhibit having or enjoying your own children. Maybe you pursue a high-powered career in order to provide for them, but suppressing your own creative urges can lead to illness. BTW, you may also like to camp or hike, and these might be ideal occasions to take the family with you.
Ceres and Saturn in your solar ninth house of higher education denotes that you go back to school to get promotions or other advancements in your career. Try taking a literature or philosophy class for personal enrichment.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17> Jupiter enters your Sun sign this January and while that can give a real boost to your mood and personality, it can also add to your waistline. Use restraint and stay away from buffet restaurants. Venus and Neptune are also in your sign and can increase your attraction to sweets and alcohol, so be on the mettle when it comes to controlling your appetites.
Uranus in your solar second house of money can be very frustrating because often it means that your income is not in a steady, predictable stream. You may be a temp worker, live on commissions or royalties, or are prone to seasonal layoffs. Uranus is also foreign sources of money, so perhaps you have gotten a stipend to go study in a foreign country.
You are very attached to your home this winter and spring, or you might take in relatives or other guests just so you can spend more time at home.
Pallas Athena will be in your solar fifth house of amusements for awhile, so your taste for fun may turn to mental games like chess, bridge or Sudoku rather than tennis. Joining a club can help you gain mastery over any of these games quicker.
An interest in natural foods and in reincarnation are both possible results of Ceres and Saturn in your solar eighth house.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19>Uranus has been in your first house of self for four years. You are funny, witty, multi-talented, but also some people see you as unusual, maybe even unreliable. Vesta in your solar third house may mean you are a good student, but do not enjoy teaching. Yet teaching may be the only job that opens up for you, so learn to make the best of it and enjoy your students.
The asteroid Pallas Athena has moved into your solar fourth house, and may have prompted you to start a home business. Yet you are quite restless, and may change your own home several times during this transit.
I see Saturn in your solar seventh as a needed source of stability in your life. Learn to appreciate the steadiness of your partner's presence, even if he/she is not the most demonstrative of persons. Also try to avoid arguments with friends early in the year (transiting Mars in your solar eleventh house). You really do not want to alienate friends who have already helped you a great deal.

So that is it, folks. That was my mini reading on the year 2009 for all the signs. In many cases, it just covers the influences at the beginning of the year or the first half. So do not despair if you did not like the thumbnail sketch of 2009 for your sign. Happy 2009 to all.
