Your Milky Way Horoscope JULY 6-12, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers-- Please visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might need to see a doctor about it.

Venus at 16 degrees Gemini sextiles Uranus in Aries at 2:49 am Monday. Pleasant surprises regarding money get plopped in your lap – that's always nice, so go ahead and buy a lottery ticket or two. We enjoy meeting people who are very different from ourselves, perhaps a foreigner, somebody with an accent, a very independent sort, a bohemian, someone with unusual talents or living arrangements. There is often a romantic attraction to such people, although this usually does not last long-term.

The Sun at 16 degrees Cancer squares Uranus in Aries at 12:23 pm Tuesday. The Sun with Uranus often denotes a change agent of some kind. We often resent anyone who tries to force us to change, but when these transits arise, we are usually in great need of shaking up our lives a bit. The square often means we find ourselves trying to fight City Hall, and even though City Hall almost always wins, we keep trying to force it to be more responsive to what we believe is the will of the people. With both planets at the world degree in cardinal signs, this may trigger events of global interest, so watch the news tonight.

The Sun at 16 degrees Cancer trines Saturn in Scorpio at 8:29 pm Tuesday. This follows close on the heels of the square to Uranus, and at the same degree. In this case, The Rules are your friends; by contrast, the square to Uranus always tends to try to buck the rules. Some of us may receive honors or recognition for an achievement, or at least derive a sense of accomplishment for doing what we did. The Sun on a world degree may denote that someone already in the public eye receives an honor.

We have a Full Moon at 20 degrees 3' Capricorn, at 7:25 am Saturday. It is preceded by the Moon sextile Saturn in Scorpio, and succeeded by a square to Mars in Libra. The Sun is conjunct Jupiter, which magnifies the effect of the current Grand Cross in cardinal signs; major stresses will afflict nations such as China, Great Britain, Japan, and others. And natives of those cardinal signs will similarly be heavily stressed – um, we're supposed to say challenged, not stressed – tho fortunately the cardinal-sign people are generally quite thrilled to have another mountain to climb.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. NOTE: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - Ceres and Vesta in your solar seventh house favor taking some quiet time this week to work on relationship bonds; perhaps setting up a weekly date or picnic lunch would be a pleasurable way to make memories. Ruler Mars makes a pleasant aspect midday Thursday; you might enjoy a chat over lunch about spouses and tips off the internet on keeping them happy. The Chiron and Pallas opposition this week affects your health houses; see your practitioner and schedule those checkups you keep avoiding.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Ruler Venus makes a happy aspect to Uranus early Monday for a surprise money windfall, or more likely a gift from a secret angel. Worst day may be Wednesday morn when your affections are not reciprocated, but probably merely because the other person is in a hurry. Saturday morning's Full Moon in earth sign Capricorn is likely favorable for legal matters, publishing, the internet, or planning long trips. The Chiron-Pallas opposition is on your fifth and eleventh house axis, where you may needlessly sacrifice your own creative interests due to peer pressure.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Best day may be Sunday morning when you receive promises or offers of help; best to nail people down on specifics though. Also Tuesday pm favors asking your mate to be generous with you. Ceres and Vesta in your solar fifth house favor taking some quiet time this week to focus on artistic pursuits that are just to please yourself. The Chiron-Pallas opposition is on your tenth and fourth house angles, which may force you to sacrifice family life for career goals or vice versa.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Moonchildren are especially active and happy when the Sun is in their sign. Plan your pool parties or trips to the beach this month, inviting as many kids over as possible. You're the kind who really enjoy cramming the car full of kids, wet bathing suits, and the dog on a fine summer day. Jupiter will exit your sign next week, so let the good times roll while they can.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - Ceres and Vesta in your solar third house favor taking some quiet time this week to get re-acquainted with relatives or neighbors, perhaps setting up an arrangement for someone who can babysit until you get home from work. The Chiron and Pallas opposition this week affects your money houses, so you may be forced to go to a financial counselor to work out a plan to better manage your personal funds.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 –Ruler Mercury is in a lucky aspect Sunday morning; some money may be due you from a legal judgment. It may be hard for you to get a word in edgewise Thursday night. Chiron in Pisces opposes Pallas in your sign this week; get to a health practitioner asap for nagging problems. Saturday morning's Full Moon in earth sign Capricorn is likely favorable for dealings with children or for opportunities to nurture your creative talents.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra till Sunday afternoon. Early risers may receive offers of help and sympathy if you will only share details of your situation; try to swap favors with people you know. Try to avoid over-doing things midday Sunday, such as going to the all-you-can-eat buffet too many times. Ruler Venus makes a happy aspect to Uranus early Monday for a surprise money windfall, possibly from asking your spouse nicely for a little something.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 3:34 pm Sunday till Tuesday night. Very early risers on Monday get inspired by the sunrise. Early afternoon favors having a discussion with your mentor. Monday night favors social events, although you might leave a bit early to catch up on work before turning in. A professional may upset you Tuesday with a list of recommended changes. Dinner hour with a legal eagle associate gives you reason for optimism. Ruler Mars makes a pleasant aspect midday Thursday; you might enjoy a chat over lunch about money management tips or shopping the sales.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 9:25 pm Tuesday till late Thursday. Family life can be pretty chaotic Wednesday morning. You may feel ignored by someone you love on Thursday morning. Get outside for a walk during the Thursday lunch break. You can get a lot done Thursday night if you just settle down and start in with it. The Chiron-Pallas opposition is on your tenth and fourth house angles, which may force you to sacrifice family life for career goals or vice versa.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 11:25 pm Thursday till Saturday night. You enjoy a Friday lunch-hour discussion about which new movies to go see. Start a new affirmation during or after dinner hour Friday. Saturday can be rather tense, but you probably work off tensions with errands and yard work. Ceres and Vesta in your solar tenth house favor taking some quiet time this week to refocus career goals and motivate yourself.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Ruler Uranus makes a nice aspect to Venus on Monday; you enjoy meeting strangers especially those who hail from foreign shores or have an accent. Tuesday may bring a change agent into your life, possibly a coworker or someone you otherwise see almost every day. The Moon is in Aquarius from 11:07 pm Saturday thru the rest of the weekend. Ceres and Vesta in your solar ninth house favor taking some quiet time this week to confer with professionals on legal, publishing, or spiritual matters to help refocus your life.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Pallas in Virgo opposes Chiron in your sign this week; get to a health practitioner asap for nagging problems. Ruler Neptune is quite happy Monday morning; maybe you can go for an early swim, or work on your piano playing technique. Co-ruler Jupiter enjoys dining with youngsters or artists Tuesday night. Your ideals may be sorely tried Wednesday morning. Midday Friday may be your best period; have lunch with your favorite dreamer friend.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Dec. 29-Jan. 4, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun at 8 degrees Capricorn is conjunct Mercury at 1:28 am Sunday. This is a key point in the economic cycle (as are all the conjunctions between Sun, Mercury and Venus) so keep an eye peeled for stock market moves and hot sectors. Since this is in Capricorn, the sign of both Big Business and of government, those areas should feel the biggest impact. The Sun opposes Jupiter a week later, which may mean that gold (Sun) hits a correction point.

Mercury at 8 degrees 39' Capricorn squares Uranus in Aries at 3:48 am Sunday. This is followed by the Sun square Uranus at 12:05 am Monday. Mercury-Uranus squares are generally bad for buying electronic or mechanical items; it may mean that repairs are called for on items you already have. To avoid accidents, avoid doing things on impulse – the key word there is impulse. Think what to do, use your signals, communicate your intentions. You might have some brainstorms, but your thoughts tend to be chaotic and so you benefit from writing down what needs to be done, step by step. Your nerves may also be jittery; skip the second cup of java. This is followed by the Sun's hunger for change. You may change your routine, shake yourself out of a rut. Once I got on a plane under this transit, for a quick weekend trip. You need a change of scene instead of staring at the same four walls. Instead of channel surfing or web surfing, try visiting a museum show or gallery. Pick up a magazine you never heard of before about a subject you might not be familiar with. At the same time, expect the unexpected.

Mars at 11 degrees Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn at 8:16 pm Monday. If the Uranus squares are not channeled into constructive changes (see above) then this Mars-Pluto square may blast you out of your cozy cocoon. Mars and Pluto together are such an explosive combo, it's like dynamite plus a nuclear bomb. Avoid dangerous places or hi-energy crowds. There can be ego conflicts or power struggles between business partners or marital partners. Ambition or control issues may be a sticking point. On the plus side, you can harness this energy to get a lot of work done, like cleaning out a garage or demolishing a building. You might also conceive a child if you have not been able to before.

Mercury is conjunct Pluto at 11 degrees Capricorn at 6:24 am Tuesday, and soon squares Mars in Libra at 9:59 am Tuesday. This is a lot like Mars-Pluto, but more verbal. Mercury plus Mars in particular is argument or debate, although Pluto wants to totally demolish the opponent's assumptions and data.

Then the Sun is conjunct Pluto (again at 11 degrees) at 1:54 am Wednesday, New Year's Day. I am going to make a suggestion on how to harness the power of the conjunction with Pluto (PS – there is also a New Moon in Capricorn on New Year's Day at 6:14 am on 10 degrees 57' of Cappy). Pluto has many meanings but I want to focus on the one that helps you to take control of your own life. You might want to also harness the power of the 11 degree number by waiting for the clock to hit 11:11 on your digital readout, and making a very concentrated, very earnest wish for your life, for the year, or for the near future. The numbers lady, Glynis McCants talked about how an actress made a wish for herself to get a plum role when the clock read 11:11; she got the part and hit it big with that role.

The Sun at 12 degrees Capricorn squares Mars in Libra at 7:14 pm Thursday. After all the heavy-duty transits listed above, this one may seem like a piece of cake. All ya gotta do is get into the gym and work off your frustrations. Because the square can mean being blocked or hemmed in somehow, and you really wanna dig in your heels and fight back. This is good in an athletic contest, where one team is down 10 points at the half and comes back to win the game in the second half.

Mercury at 15 degrees Capricorn opposes Jupiter retrograde in Cancer at 2:11 am Friday. Fifteen degrees is the world degree in cardinal signs, so there might be rather significant news in the wind. Pay attention to the fine print in any deals, or have someone with you who will take care of that. A tendency to arrogance sometimes with this transit, so don't come across as a know-it-all. A sense of humor really helps lighten the mood.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar tenth house of career and rank; you may have to risk public failure, but doing so may lead to fulfilling your ambitions. Uranus transiting your sign also ties in to the New Moon; you may upset the status quo, possibly as a gadfly or activist. You may rely on your mate more than ever in the first half of 2014, due to the strength of the transits of Ceres and Vesta in your seventh house.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar ninth house of publishing, college, law, religion, the internet; your intellect delivers amazing insights and intuition not just for your benefit but for all the world. Pallas transiting your fifth house and Mars in your sixth house tie in to the New Moon; health challenges lie ahead, but so does a very bright, capable person as a love interest. Pay attention to the fine print in any contracts Friday, or take along a confederate who will do so.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar eighth house; you may learn how to tap into others' true motivations, and push them into greater self-awareness. You are very proud of an accomplished child in 2014. You challenge yourself to learn to dance this year. You may win a bet Thursday night that you can do some athletic feat; getcher tennies on.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar seventh house of partners; opening up to your mate can catapult you into a deeper and more intimate bond. A neighbor may have very good advice for you about practical matters like software or keeping a datebook. A male family member may be a bit disruptive this year. The year 2014 may get off to a trying start, but the protective power of Jupiter still in Cancer is in effect.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar sixth house of health and work; you clean up disorder and install efficiencies in the office or in a volunteer situation. A new personal accountant or tax adviser may offer excellent guidelines for getting your finances in order this year. Think carefully before sending letters or email out there; have a friend scan thru them first.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar fifth house of creativity and fun; you can tap into a deeper level of creative power when entertaining others, if you are able to set aside inhibitions. Pallas in your sign ties in to the New Moon; you may be a guide or mentor of some kind to children. Watch out for excess fees and taxes on your bills in 2014, and ask for unjustified charges to be removed. Juno moves into your sign for the New Year; unmarried persons may not remain so for long.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The phone may ring off the hook Sunday (or the previous Saturday) so keep in touch. The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar fourth house of home and family; accepting your deep feelings increases your sensitivity to others and deeper ties. Pallas in Libra trines the New Moon, probably indicating that you may play a greater role as mentor or adviser to family members.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio Sunday morning. Exchange a favor Sunday morning with a loved one, possibly a young niece or cousin. The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar third house of messages and gadgets; you can ask penetrating questions that provoke others into new insights, kind of like Socrates did. Pay attention to the fine print in any contracts Friday, or take along a confederate who will do so.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 12:37 pm Sunday till midday Tuesday, New Year's Eve. I would probably skip the matinee Sunday afternoon. If you are off work Monday, a morning game of pickup basketball with a friend might be the thing to work off some of those holiday calories. The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar second house; you may have to draw upon hidden talents if you are to transform your financial situation.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 1:01 pm Tuesday till midday Thursday. Tuesday afternoon favors pipe-dreaming up your goals for next year. Do some serious wishing on your stars at 11:11 Wednesday morning. Don't be too stingy Wednesday afternoon. The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your own sign; “extreme makeover” might be the keywords for 2014, whether you change your image, your name or your career. You are likely to dig in your heels Thursday night.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar twelfth house; you feel the presence of the unseen world and of the spiritual dimensions. The Moon is in Aquarius from 12:03 pm Thursday till midday Saturday. Your energies are excellent on Friday; you may even do some rock climbing. Frustrations set in Friday night, tho, so have a Plan B and C.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The powerful New Moon on New Year's is in your solar eleventh house of groups; you shape the organizations you belong to into alignment with universal values. The Moon is in Pisces from 11:58 am Saturday and thru the rest the of the weekend. You vote for a nice long film festival Saturday afternoon and evening; take notes on the movies to share with others online!

Your Milky Way Horoscope June 30-July 6, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Venus at 4 degrees Leo squares Saturn in Scorpio at 1:03 pm July 1. Venus-Saturn squares may sound rather depressing, but they could force the issue of where one's relationship is going – are you really serious about each other? – Are you ready to make the commitment? – Do you feel any responsibility toward or for each other? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then you might formalize (Saturn again) your relationship with an engagement. If the aspect is not really strongly touching your natal planets, it may only mean that you gain some social polish (Venus) on top of your ambition (Saturn), or you receive some kind (Venus) advice from a mentor or older person (Saturn).

The Sun at 10 degrees Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 8:03 pm Monday. Sun-Pluto aspects have to do with demanding or losing control over one's own life. The opposition has you (Sun) pointing to an opponent who you feel has or is trying to exert controls over your life, which you of course strongly resent! This can lead to power struggles. This can also, on a more subtle level, mean that you work to retrain your own mind of the unconscious or subconscious training that you received as a child, via psychotherapy or adopting mantras or affirmations, or Geotrans, or other similar self-improvement techniques. The Pluto figure can be either malignant or benign – it can be a Svengali type who assumes total control but helps you develop your talent to the nth degree. It can be a controlling husband or boyfriend who beats you and tears down your self-esteem. It can be a Hollywood studio, a mob boss, a super-corporation, a king or aristocrat – someone who has total authority over you. It can be a psychotherapist, as I mentioned before, who may be either a benign or malignant figure depending on his philosophy and skills.

The Sun at 12 degrees Cancer squares Uranus in Aries at 2:22 am Thursday, July 4. Sun-Uranus squares really resent being confined or ordered about. This Sun will challenge authority, get a petition together, rebel, toss a sabot (wooden shoe) into the mechanical works (the source of the word 'sabotage'), and in general Fight City Hall, or if you prefer, fight for lost causes – the only ones worth fighting for! Since Uranus can also be geniuses, this aspect can also signify the brilliant inventor, the person who is ahead of his time.

July Fourth, the national birthday, also features the Moon in chatty Gemini, which seems to forecast a lot of speechifying. Plans may also be changed or made with rapidity; perhaps the weather turns up better than the weatherman said, and so everyone decides to go to the beach, or the zoo, or something like that. People will be VERY spontaneous! Now, this Gemini Moon on top of that Sun-Uranus square, which follows a Sun-Pluto opposition earlier this week, may mean some impromptu speeches to rally the crowd to march against something. It may mean a spontaneous demonstration. It may mean even a spontaneous riot, although we don't seem to have a Mars tied into this energy to bring that about. But people will feel like they won't stand for bullying from authorities any more.

The Moon is conjunct Mars in Gemini at 8:30 am Saturday, followed by Moon conjunct Jupiter in Cancer at 11:21 pm. Mars with Jupiter can bring risk-taking such as in the form of daredevil stuff or gambling or whatever. With the Moon, that just intensifies that urge. So if you have a little money that you will not miss, OK, spend a night at the bingo hall or buy a lottery tickee. Good luck!

POPE FRANCIS – I finally posted a little article on the new Pope Francis and also a kind of book review on a book that accidentally talks about ancient astronomy. The article on Pope Francis is here: http://milkywayastrology.wordpress.com/2013/06/02/a-look-at-the-new-pope-franciss-astro-charts/ (BTW, I just found out that the retired Pope Benedict will get a pension of about 2,500 Euros a month – equal to about $40,000 per year. Is that enough, you think?) NOTE: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from Sun. till Mon. pm. Secrets or jealousy may be on your mind first thing Sun., not necessarily with reason. Emotional tension may accent the breakfast table; it might be well to take an early morning run. Midday Mon. may find you mulling whether to take the plunge and propose to your lady; mixed feelings are normal, hon. Home and career tensions may stress you out on Mon., too, because the job is so demanding. Domestic peace rules Mon. night; bear in mind that Jove has recently entered your solar fourth house, with all his benefits. Thurs. is also a challenge day, but you like challenges.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 5:43 pm Monday till Thursday morn. Taureans may run into roadblocks in getting their diplomas Monday, which may not be handed over until certain fees are paid; a relative may be able to smooth things over. Emotional outbursts may mark midday Tuesday – maybe it would be best to shout to an empty room, or an open field? Other than that the afternoon is pretty harmonious, especially if you work with a friend. It is easier for you schmooze over an early lunch Wednesday. The afternoon should be spent on routine matters. Stress points may come from neighbors, travel, and health matters. A retreat might not be as restful as hoped.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Stress points this week (Mon. and Thur.) may center on finances (yours or joint accounts), children and friends. A funny friend brightens your Sun. breakfast. It may not be a good idea to recommend a neighbor or relative to your employer Monday. The Moon is in Gemini from 5:22 am Thurs. till Sat. pm. Escapism is pretty much the word for Thur. afternoon; go to the movies or an amusement park. You're mellowed out Thur. night; good night for a late party! You are extra spontaneous Fri. morn, and ready to make new friends. Work off some energy Sat. morn.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Mon. is likely to be the most stressful day of the week, with that Sun-Pluto opposition putting a stone wall in your way. You hate that! Also Mon. you may have to tell the kids 'No' when it comes to requests for money. Thur. is also a challenge day, which might be OK with you since you like challenges. The Moon is in its home, Cancer, from 6:14 pm Sat. thru the weekend. A big banquet Sat. night to feed all the visiting relatives looks favorable; people will likely be very sympathetic with each other's challenges, and possibly concerned about the larger social implications.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - Stress points this week (Mon. and Thur.) may center on health, college or publishing, neighbors, and a not-so-restful getaway retreat. A faraway pal may call Sunday morn to share a laugh. You may be pressed Mon. and Tues. to make a romantic commitment. Work-related contacts are very pleasant, tho, on Tues. afternoon. Do not press new career initiatives Wednesday afternoon. Escapism rules Thursday afternoon; you might hang out with friends. Friday morning has an inventive energy for you; you might look up how to do a technical or electronic task on the internet.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - Stress points this week (Mon. and Thur.) may center on children, friends, and finances (personal and joint). Perhaps it would be wise to check their insurance coverages. A relative might not be able to offer use of their getaway cabin as you had hoped. Tuesday might be your best day if you take control of your own schedule. You might be rather upset to learn that your spouse has loaned money to his friends. Escapism is the motto for Thursday afternoon, when you might lounge by a pool or head for the flicks.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - Monday is likely to be the most stressful day of the week, with that Sun-Pluto opposition putting a stone wall in your way. You hate that! Thur. is also a challenge day, which might be OK with you since you like challenges. A strange person may inadvertently upset you Thursday, but try to let it roll off your shoulders. Thursday afternoon looks favorable for indulging your creative talents so get your brushes ready. Hubby takes the kids off your hands Friday morn, so roll up your sleeves to tackle the big jobs while they are out.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Stress points this week (Monday and Thursday) may center on neighbors, information, the internet, and health. Midday Monday also poses a bit of a struggle with a loved one if you are being pressed for a romantic commitment; you hate it when you feel someone is trying to manipulate you. Tuesday is fine, tho, for a morning swim and an afternoon at an author reading. Escapism is the word for Thursday afternoon, which for you may mean going to an amusement park or exercising your creative talents. A coworker gives you a laugh Friday morning. You enjoy watching national sports events Saturday.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Stress points this week (Monday and Thursday) may center on finances (personal and joint), children, and friends – altho you may find these days stimulating. You enjoy taking charge of the kids Sunday morning. A romance you wanted kept secret may not be after Monday. You really enjoy the holiday this year, with the Moon in your opposite sign; you might even throw a late party Thursday. You enjoy listening to a friend appear on the radio Friday morning. You are quite the energetic personality on Saturday.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Sunday morning may surprise you with an upset, such as an appliance breakdown. Monday is likely to be the most stressful day of the week, with that Sun-Pluto opposition putting a stone wall in your way. You hate that! Tuesday favors lunch with someone you mentor or advise.
