Venus enters Gemini at 8:34 am Monday. Venus in Gemini is always the flirt, but with ruler Mercury retrograde in Gemini right now, a Twin might make some verbal missteps. Since Venus also rules cash and finances in general, Geminis might also make some errors in writing checks or figuring their personal accounts. Still, Venus in Gemini is famous for its wit and a lighthearted way of communicating. Gemini tends to be superficial in conversation, yet a mature Gemini is able to elevate the discussion to encompass hearing out others' points of view. Gemini loves to discuss abstract ideas rather than how-to instructions. Famous people with Venus in Gemini include: Ringo Starr, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, William Shakespeare, Mary McCarthy, Benjamin Spock, and Franz Kafka. 

 

Mars at 16 degrees Libra opposes Uranus in Aries at 4:25 am Wednesday. Mars opposite Uranus sounds pretty explosive to me, also pretty bad for purchases of mechanical objects such as cars, lawn mowers, etc. Many of us get ready to just about kick off the harness and run off for the greener pastures they've heard legends about. Sudden changes are possible or even probable, even emergency surgery may be in store for some of us. Between this transit and the Moon-Mercury conjunction on Thursday, people will be blurting out everything they have held inside for too long. 

 

We have a New Moon at 5 degrees 37' Cancer at 4:08 am Friday. It is accompanied by a Moon trine Neptune in Pisces. Neptune has a bad rep, but the trine may help some of us find kindred spirits who hold to the same ideals that you do. New Moons in Cancer tend to put the focus on family issues, family businesses, possibly an addition to the family or house. Your home becomes a focal point, either in terms of renovating, buying and selling, hosting more social events, or housing an exchange student or two. 

 

Ceres and Vesta will be conjunct at 20 degrees Libra this week. These two asteroids have been slowly moving almost in lockstep thru Libra for quite a while, so you may not feel like anything special is happening. Couples may find they need to have some prolonged talks about where the relationship is going, or even seek out couples therapy. A lot of times Vesta will sacrifice their own happiness in a relationship, to the point of even letting the other person leave if they think they will be happier with someone else.

Mercury enters Capricorn at 5:12 am Tuesday. Mercury in Capricorn is all business!! Mercury here also wants to be the Answer Man, the one who at least wants to be the one people turn to for the answers. He may even gather all sorts of factoids and expect you to be quite impressed by his knowledge, whether it is pertinent to the matter at hand or not. A more mature Capricorn personality focuses more on filling others' need for the facts, just the facts, ma'am. Cappy needs to focus less on what he knows and more on what information he shares for mutual benefit and advancement. To his credit, Capricorn has a steady and serious mind that readily studies long and hard, and absorbs details while never losing sight of the Big Picture. Does not like to be disagreed with! Famous people with Mercury in Capricorn include: Edgar Allen Poe, Lord Byron, Louis Pasteur, Douglas MacArthur, Everett Dirksen, Barry Goldwater, Shelley Berman, Margaret Chase Smith, Richard Nixon, and curiously enough, W. If this contacts any natal planets, this transit can find you more disposed to entertain spiritual ideas and ideals, to meditate, to deeply enjoy listening to music, to study occult subjects like astrology or the tarot. You may also be more sensitive to others' feelings. It's a good time to sit quietly by a fountain or waterfall, and just listen to the babbling and burbling waters. 

 

Mars at 8 degrees Libra opposes Uranus in Aries at 3:33 am Wednesday, Christmas Day. The personal energy of Mars needs to work off some steam, but runs up against restrictions that cramp its style. Hence the Uranus energy goes to work to break down those confining walls and strictures. Rebellion! Revolution! Stand back, everybody! You're irritable and impatient and may lash out without planning to – or your projected resentment is directed back at you. Yes, you probably need to liberate yourself on some level, but telling off the boss doesn't do you any favors in the long run. Creative change that is suppressed may boomerang on you as health problems OR as accidents, so do try to manage your own change. Whoa, the Moon is also conjunct Mars that night, intensifying feelings and possibly leading to heated exchange of words. Don't let it be you that starts something. 

 

Mercury at 3 degrees Capricorn sextiles Neptune in Pisces at 4:04 am Thursday. To me, Mercury and Neptune just do not mix well at all. Some may believe that there is room for positive growth in spiritual thought, or the use of mantras or affirmations, working with artistic imagination, intuition, etc. It may actually be helpful to focus on creative work under this transit. But frankly I think that most of us let this transit go by with an hour or a day of mere daydreaming, with nothing to show for it. Or even worse, they let some huckster rip them off with promises of all kinds of freebies and sweeteners.
