Your Milky Way Horoscope March 6-12, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Have all of you been following the drawn-out struggle between the Wisconsin governor and the union members who stand in danger of losing their hard-won right to collective bargaining?
I am guessing it is related to the transiting square between Jupiter and Pluto; Pluto rules unions and other mass movements. Jupiter is the Republican party, among other things, and the GOP-ers want to break the unions in order to cripple Democratic fund-raising sources. This is about money, all right, but not state budget money, it's CAMPAIGN money.

The square was/will be exact on Feb. 26, when the protest will be at almost the two-week mark. (This is being written the week of Feb. 22) I hesitate to make any predictions of the outcome, because I have limited internet access right now and cannot research the gov, Wisconsin statehood (all I know is 1848), or this union. But Pluto lingers at 7 degrees Capricorn till late May, going retrograde on April 9. I think Pluto is gathering immense public support for unions like we have not seen in decades, having picked up energy from the North Node at zero Capricorn this winter.

Folks, it is vitally important that we support the right to organize; blood was shed in the historical struggle to gain this right, and we cannot allow the sacrifices of union pioneers to go for naught now. You might send donations to Ian's Pizza on State Street in Madison, WI, which has shut down normal operations in order to focus on making and delivering pizzas to the union protesters in the Capitol a block away. Thank you!

The Sun at 15-16 degrees Pisces is inconjunct Saturn in Libra at 3:26 pm Sunday. I notice that Saturn sometimes represents the experts, the pundits, the oddsmakers, etc. And whatever planet that Saturn is inconjunct with, represents the thing that the experts have to re-evaluate. Like, the Moon would be the public. The experts may misjudge what the public mood is or what they will do, and so the experts go back to the old drawing board. Here the Sun could represent the president, heads of state, fathers in general, gold (gold prices), etc. So for example, maybe the pundits will totally err in predicting what Pres. Obama will do, or his popularity rating. Maybe the gold bugs will totally err in predicting what gold prices will be.

Mercury at 29 degrees Pisces is conjunct Uranus at 11:05 am Wednesday. Impulsiveness and nervousness can lead to accidents. Not a good day to schedule your first driver's license road test. Having said that, it is a day when creative ideas will just bombard you from all directions. Make notes to self thru the day to keep from losing them all. BTW you might also have psychic experiences if 29 degrees occurs in your natal chart.

Mercury enters Aries at 12:47 pm Wednesday. Mercury in Aries can be challenging to others, if Aries speaks in that aggressive or even overbearing way he has sometimes. But on the other hand, when Aries gets the hang of inspiring others with the thrill of meeting a challenge, he is capable of getting the best out of employees, buddies or members of the Scout troop he leads.

Venus at 9 degrees Aquarius sextiles Jupiter in Aries at 7:25 am Thursday. Venus loves her sugar daddy, yes she does. Supposed to be favorable for financial investments, especially if related to medicine, education, or foreign entities. Legal (ruled by Jupiter) decisions may be in your favor. It's a sociable aspect, so throw a party or do some networking. Favorable for starting new relationships.

Uranus enters Aries again at 7:49 pm Friday. Uranus here is a very bold and innovative pioneer. Aries translates Uranian energy into new directions for mankind. Aries is the way-show-er, the pathfinder, and Uranus will lead Aries into new frontiers in technology, mechanics, new sources of electrical power, and into harnessing our creative and psychic powers as we may never have done before.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 12:14 am Sunday till midday Tuesday. A Sunday brunch will be quite enjoyable especially if you take a lady friend along. The Moon is conjunct Jupiter in Aries Sunday evening. You will feel generous and expansive, and will probably treat someone to a dinner out. Try not to overdo on drinks and dessert, tho. Monday morn may be rather depressing under Saturn's rays but ignore this passing mood. Midday Tuesday, the martini lunch may be tempting under Neptune's influence, but think it over. Mercury and Uranus enter your sign this week; you may be bursting with the energy of spring and wanting to make new starts in new fields. Make notes on all the ideas you have and try to toss them around with a friend or mentor.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 12:52 pm Tuesday till very early Friday. A health practitioner friend may have just the thing to help you feel better Tuesday afternoon. You might try to break a habit during Lent this year; Pluto will help you take control over whatever area of your life. Maybe you give up sweets or sugar, since the Moon squares Venus (sugar, bakery, etc) on Wed. morn. Friends may seem jittery or erratic under the Mercury-Uranus conjunction. You might look askance at some reports from the so-called experts Wed. night. An early breakfast or run with a Pisces friend is favored Thursday morn, but steer clear of the dessert tray. Confusion reigns under Neptune midday Thursday, but light begins to glimmer overnight under Uranus.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 12:31 am Friday till next Sunday morn. A Moon-Mercury sextile favors a pre-work chat with an Aries friend. You might tinker with insurance or union checkoffs to get the best deal for yourself. Now that Aries friend may show up for dinner or after, and you will have a great time under Jove's rays. Saturday is igotaroundtuit day as you check things off your to-do list. Dinner hour may have some friction under a Sun-Moon square; maybe it is better to eat out and let everyone order what they want. Mercury and Uranus enter your solar eleventh house this week; a friend may be terribly upset or nervous, so offer a sympathetic ear. The friend may also be in a quandary over multiple ideas about what to do; first settle them down, and make notes on all these ideas for a calm evaluation later.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Mercury-Uranus conjunction in your solar ninth house on Wednesday could bring upsetting news, or information about a windfall (Uranus in both cases). On Thursday, see if there are any new options with your employer's 401K plan; the Venus-Jupiter sextile favors investments and Venus will be in a money house for you. Uranus re-enters your solar tenth house of career on Friday (Mercury entered Aries on Wednesday); work may become more erratic, or new technology may change the way you conduct business. Uranus here is actually rather good if you are a consultant rather than a 9-to-5 drudge.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Mercury and Uranus move into Aries, your solar ninth house of law, college, religion, publishing and global communications (the internet). The conjunction is a bit problematic, so don't be surprised if classes or cases have to be rescheduled due to technical problems. BUT if attending a bull session make lots of notes to capture the ideas that zoom around. Venus in your solar seventh house sextiles Jupiter in your solar ninth house on Thursday; legal judgments could be decided in your favor, or the opponent may decide to drop charges.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Mercury-Uranus conjunction on Wednesday in Pisces might presage a very nervous spouse or partner. You may have to spend some time talking through worries. Mercury and Uranus Aries, enter your solar eighth house this week; you may decide to take a whole different approach to your insurance or estate issues. Be wary of changing agents just to make a change, tho. The good news is that you may win a little something in the office pool Thursday under a favorable Venus-Jupiter sextile.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Sorry to tell you this, Libra, but your expert opinion may be proven wrong on Sunday. Well, exceptions prove the rule, don't they? And this is one time that the exception will rear its inconvenient head. Mercury and Uranus enter your solar seventh house this week; you may feel like your partner is not there for you when you need him/her. But keeping the lines of communication open on a daily basis will go far to keep your bonds strong. I am sure that your partner is just focusing on making a good life for you both.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Mercury and Uranus enter your solar sixth house this week; you may finally get some work on the side, possibly involving Uranus fields like electrical, computers, mechanics, psychology, or astrology --- or Mercury fields like writing, reporting, transit, getting that novel finished. Venus in your solar fourth house of home/family sextiles Jupiter in your sixth house of work/health on Thursday. A relative may offer a job in a family business, or offer a job lead. Or you may latch onto a job where you can work from home or in homes/ hotels.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Mercury and Uranus enter your solar fifth house this week; you may meet some adventurous, creative people who are just brimming with new ideas. This might be easier to handle in the artistic realm than in the dating scene. Take that advanced class in oil painting or sculpting. Keep a notebook handy for all the ideas for art projects that fly at you; you won't be able to apply then all at once and it may keep you busy for years.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - Mercury and Uranus enter your solar fourth house this week; boy, wiring and anything electrical could act up. Be safety conscious and make sure things are grounded, etc. Venus in your solar second house of money sextiles Jupiter in your solar house of home/family. A family business may prosper, or going into some venture with a relative may work out well financially.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Mercury and Uranus enter your solar third house this week; appliances, cars and computers may act up. Wait till this transit settles down a bit, then your purchase of a new toy may work out very well. Venus in your sign sextiles Jupiter in Aries on Thursday; you and the right friend may have super luck together.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Pisces natives may be on the hot seat Sunday, with your natal planets and the Sun inconjunct Saturn in Libra; it may seem like a boss or other authority is not happy with anything you do. Mercury and Uranus are conjunct in Pisces at midday Wednesday. These two planets can be very volatile when conjunct, so just keep an eye out for safety in whatever you do today. Pay attention to stray electricity, and check the wiring on lamps and appliances. Mercury and Uranus enter your solar second house this week; since it is in Aries, it favors starting new ventures or striking out on your own. Just be aware, that income may be highly variable at first.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 27-March 5, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Venus at 29 degrees Capricorn sextiles Uranus in Pisces at 9:49 am Tuesday
. New and different people and relationships beckon. These relationships may not last very long, or one party may drift in and out of your life at irregular intervals. Ah well, c'est la vie. Reminds me of the story of Margot Fonteyn, the ballet dancer, meeting her future husband. She went out with him, felt like she was walking on air, then he disappeared for ten years. He pops back in and they wind up getting married.

Venus enters Aquarius at 9:39 pm Tuesday. At its worst, Venus here uses the pretext of universal love to avoid establishing close personal relationships. Aquarius can be so detached that they cannot relate and bond with anyone on a personal level. However, Venus in Aquarius can attract equals and have close relationships while allowing the loved one the freedom to have other close friends. Venus here can love someone without the desire necessarily to possess the other, like their car or their house.

Mercury at 16 degrees Pisces is inconjunct (retrograde) Saturn in Libra at 8:03 am Wednesday. Some of us may have to make a mental (Mercury) adjustment (inconjunct) with regard to restrictions or regulations. We may have to make do with less, or nothing at all. Or we may have to get used to sharing a resource (not just food or gas, but a park campsite, library, etc).

Mars at 7 degrees Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 9:52 pm Thursday. There's a real chance that someone (especially a Pisces or Capricorn) may try to use you as a rung on the ladder of their success. Pisces is not usually thought of as being really ambitious, but sometimes she thinks she is just sooo special that everyone ought to step aside for her. Not.

Looking ahead to next Sunday, the Sun at 15-16 degrees Pisces will be inconjunct Saturn (retrograde) in Libra at 3:25 pm March 6. This is related to the Mercury-Saturn inconjunct from Wednesday. Perhaps yet another inconvenience will be foisted on the American people due to some perceived threat by terrorists, etc.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Venus enters your solar eleventh house on Tuesday. Friends may throw a few more parties, and invite you of course. They may even invent a reason to exchange gifts or door prizes.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 - Venus enters your solar tenth house of career on Tuesday. Some perks may come your way, like employee-appreciation gifts or store cards. Enjoy it while it lasts, because so many workers never get any thanks for showing up every day and keeping things together. You may also take some treats to share with your department, for which they will beg the recipe. On Thursday a so-called friend may want you to advance their career inre getting your publisher to handle their book, or get your referral or blurb or endorsement, etc. Well, if you think the product merits your attention, then fine. But don't let someone just use you.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - Venus enters your solar ninth house of law-publishing-religion-college on Tuesday. A nice review could come your way for your new book or column, or a prof compliments you on your research paper. Legal judgments could possibly award you a tidy sum as compensation. And you in turn are quite open with the compliments, yourself. Thursday's Mars-Pluto sextile might help you gain some career perks, such as health insurance or a life policy.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - Venus enters your solar eighth house of estates, insurance, and other pooled funds on Tuesday. Insurance or estates may finally settle with a modest check, or remembrance, sent to you. You might also take the opportunity to start making a list for your will, of what your wishes are regarding final disposal of treasured items. Be careful Thursday if a spouse wants you to sign legal papers without letting you read them, under the Mars-Pluto sextile. They may or may not favor your interests, and you have every right to know what this is all about.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - Venus enters your solar seventh house of partners on Tuesday. Ah, the love of your life never looked lovelier. Treat her to a night out of dinner and dancing, or a concert. Make some memories of beautiful times together. Ask questions ahead of time if having any medical visits Thursday, under the Mars-Pluto sextile. You need to know what the insurance will pay for and what it won't.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - Venus enters your solar sixth house of health and work on Tuesday. Well this one is tricky. Venus is sweets, and too much of that may have a negative impact on your health even if you are not diabetic. However, Venus is also cash, and you may earn a bit of extra money on the side with something you do as a hobby. Venus also rules arts and crafts, sales, and music, so any of these may be a source of extra income. Your partner may seem extra studly Thursday under the Mars-Pluto sextile; ask yourself if you want to add to the family and plan accordingly.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - Venus enters your solar fifth house of fun, romance, art, children, and creativity on Tuesday. Venus rules music in particular, so attending a concert may be on the agenda this month.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Venus enters your solar fourth house on Tuesday. Time to spiff up the house with a bit of paint or new throw pillows, curtains or perhaps a curio cabinet for all your treasures. Venus in the fourth could also mean hosting a charming young lady guest or au pair. A sibling or other relative may try to use you to advance their artistic career Thursday, under the Mars-Pluto sextile. Be wary of gifts, and what kind of obligation is expected in return.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Venus enters your solar third house on Tuesday. Venus here in the house of communications could have something to do with writing a column of music reviews. Also the third house is siblings and other relatives, so a lovely sister or cousin may pop back into your life, possibly with a peace offering. Be careful of accepting any loans or other similar obligations Thursday, under the Mars-Pluto sextile. They may look like gifts, but underneath they come with too many strings attached. Practice nice phrases for declining such gifts.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn Sunday until very early Tuesday. The Moon-Pluto conjunction about 4 am Sunday wakes you with a determination to take back control of some part of your life. The Moon sextiles the Sun in Pisces at 6:40 am Sunday, favoring a pleasant breakfast with a sibling or other relative. You might chat most of the morning away, or go shopping together. Frustration sets in with a Moon-Saturn square Sunday night; this is just a bad-mood aspect; let it pass without making too much of it. Monday morn features a Moon-Venus conjunction about 10 am; good for making a sale, or just being with a loved one. Late that night the Moon sextiles Uranus for a bit of excitement; go to a comedy club, or attend some unusual local event.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Venus enters your sign on Tuesday; see notes above. The Moon is in Aquarius from 12:14 am Tuesday till midday Thursday. The Moon sextiles Jupiter in Aries Tuesday afternoon; a boon companion picks up your spirits. Wednesday morn is great for getting lots of work done under a Moon-Saturn trine. You might also consult a mentor or older person for advice. Be careful on your Thursday morning commute because a Moon-Neptune conjunction in your sign can make you very fuzzy-headed.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 11:47 am Thursday till very early next Sunday. A Moon-Mars sextile to Pluto in Capricorn Thursday night (into early Friday) can make you irritated enough to declare war on something or somebody; the real goal should be to stop letting others step on you or take advantage. Once that stops, you won't feel so irritable or ragged anymore. The New Moon in Pisces at 3:46 pm Friday would be a good time to use affirmations to renew your goals. On Saturday, the Moon joins Mercury (8 am) and Uranus (11:30 pm). You are on the go in the morning, multi-tasking, shopping, chatting. Uranus brings upsets, sometimes over minor things, so try to keep things in perspective. If someone tries to get your goat, step away and let others handle things.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 20-26, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

A triple conjunction occurs in Aquarius Sunday
evening. Mercury joins Mars at 5:44 pm, Mercury joins Neptune at 8:07 pm, and Mars joins Neptune at 11:17 pm. Mercury-Mars is vehemently emotional speech. Mercury-Neptune is a speech defect, confused thinking, getting lost, and also speaking of ideals. Mars-Neptune is ideals, but also dance. Mercury and then Mars conjoin Chiron in Pisces during the week.

Mercury enters Pisces at 3:53 pm Monday. Mercury in Pisces has trouble communicating its ideals and visions, but it does have an active fantasy life. But Pisces is called to transmit its vision of a better world, and thereby help bring it into reality.

Mars enters Pisces at 8:06 pm Tuesday
. Mars in Pisces has trouble sometimes with honoring the spiritual abilities of others; they think they are the only ones who are capable of conceiving a vision of a better world. This can lead to your gifts being wasted or scattered. But sharing insights with each other helps raise all boats, so to speak.

Mercury in Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 12:06 pm Friday. This is after the Sun joins Mercury at 3:48 am, at 6 degrees Pisces. (Anyone with natal planets at 6 degrees of cardinal signs will be especially affected by the series of aspects on Friday.) The mental detectives get busy. Good for investigating contracts, cold cases, medical or legal issues, doing research of any kind. Pluto also leads one into fields dealing with metaphysics, so that may spur you into reading about philosophy, spiritual laws, psychology, astrology, and any other field that delves into the hidden motivations behind what people do.
Jupiter in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn at 3:40 pm Friday. The square denotes antagonizing those in authority. Wonder if Wikileaks is going to release some more sensitive info that reveals still more cases of questionable ethics among those in power.
Sun in Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 7:17 pm Friday. A time for personal transformation, of gaining spiritual depth. Opportunities to make some good karma.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - Mercury and Mars enter Pisces, your solar twelfth house of self-doing, hospitals, places of retreat. Perhaps you schedule an outdoorsy retreat, possibly with Scouts or a similar children's group. Mars could indicate surgery in a hospital or clinic, too; let's hope it is minor. And with Jupiter in your sign now, it is certain to be only a minor problem, and a quick recovery.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Mercury and Mars enter Pisces, your solar eleventh house of friends and social clubs. You may get quite busy with local service groups or hobby clubs. Good for you, it is about time you shared your talents with others. Friday's aspects to Pluto and planets in Pisces may spur you to take up metaphysical or similar in-depth studies. See whether there is a local theosophical society with low-cost or free lectures.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Mercury and Mars enter Pisces, your solar tenth house of career. Mars adds a contentious note, with you perhaps debating or playing devil's advocate in in-house discussions. Gemini is a multi-talented sign, and you might pick up extra money calculating (Mercury) taxes (Mars) for other people. The positive sextile aspect to Pluto on Friday may help you get work doing forensic bookkeeping or auditing, possibly for a government department.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - Mercury and Mars enter Pisces, your solar ninth house of law, religion, publishing, etc. Mars may represent legal fees, or fees for licenses and permits. Mercury could refer to a publishing project, but it could also apply to basic clerical legal stuff, like placing legal notices, etc. The aspect to Pluto on Friday may put you on the hot seat with regards to an audit or similar issue, but since you are a capable administrator with all the receipts at hand, I am sure that the sextile indicates a positive outcome.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - Mercury and Mars enter Pisces, your solar eighth house of wills, insurance, and legacies. A will may be read or a probate filed (Mercury), and of course there will be taxes on the estate (Mars). Mercury and Mars can also represent a dispute over how a health insurance claim is handled or paid. Pluto in your sixth house of health in aspect to Mercury and Mars would seem to warn you to guard your health. You might profit from an in-depth checkup, or even a health fair, to keep tabs on your vital stats.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo for a few hours before sunrise Sunday. Moon is inconjunct Mars and Neptune in the wee house Sunday; perhaps you go out dancing late Saturday till dawn with your beau. But be careful, the opposition to Uranus about 2 am can make you walk out on each other. Mars and Mercury enter your opposite sign Pisces this week. Your partner may seem totally unrealistic about remaking the world according to his/her ideals. But that's why you love him or her so, isn't it? Pluto in your fifth house tends to point to generational matters, like an addition to the family (fifth house as ruler of children). Perhaps Mercury brings news of a happy event involving a stork.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 4:01 am Sunday till Tuesday morning. You may think your partner is a bit too extravagant midday Sunday, but hey, enjoy a special time together and make a memory. You may enjoy a lecture or event related to metaphysical matters Sunday night. Monday Morn has a Moon-Saturn conjunction; push away negative thoughts because they will evaporate anyway. Send a love note on your lunch break Monday, under Venus' rays. You have much more energy Tuesday morning with a little help from Mars.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 4:29 am Tuesday till Thursday morn. The Moon trines Chiron, Mercury, and the Sun in short order Tuesday morning. Communicate your feelings to your loved ones; they often do not know how deep your love is because you are so quiet about it. A Moon-Venus sextile on Wednesday night favors an outing with a loved one, maybe to a free mini-concert or other musical treat. Dreams can bring insights early Thursday.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 7:46 am Thursday till Saturday afternoon. Ooh, the Moon in Sag squares all those planets in Pisces (Chiron, Mars, Mercury, Sun) over the course of the day Thursday, in your solar fourth house of home and family. You may have to play Mr Fixit, or you may have to play Dr. Phil; have an assortment of 'hats' at hand. A Moon-Saturn sextile midday Friday favors having lunch with a mentor or older mentor-type friend.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 2:32 pm Saturday, through the weekend. A Moon-Mars sextile Saturday night favors sports of any kind, whether you play a bit of pickup basketball or attend a local sports event. Mars and Mercury enter Pisces this week, you solar third house of communications, news, internet, email, and local politics. Time to speak your onions, as a former broadcaster used to say. Pluto in your sign gives you unusual power to influence the local scene. Next Sunday (Feb. 27) may put you in the news, perhaps as a spokesperson for a local event or protest.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Mercury and Mars enter Pisces this week, in your solar second house of money. Mars here represents fees, commissions, and taxes. Try to be on the receiving end of those fees, not the paying end. Mercury is just billing, or processing of bills, bookkeeping, etc. These two planets combined with murky Neptune this Sunday in Aquarius, so I bet that you will spend the week or month just trying to untangle the mess. Get help if you have to, especially if taxes are involved.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Mercury and Mars enter your sign this week; see notes at top of column for clues. Sticking to your ideals is wonderful, but you have to realize, we proceed toward realizing those ideals in baby steps. Be patient with others, and stick to your own knitting. Pluto in your solar eleventh house of friends and clubs, in aspect to Mercury and Mars, may bring arguments among friends. Please, reasonable people may agree to differ.

What Do The Stars Say About the 2011 Oscars?

by Milky Way Maid

The Academy Awards are scheduled to be handed out in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011.
Who will be the big winners, and are there any surprises in store?
To answer the last question first, there are always some surprises on Oscar night. A performer who had been thought to be a shoo-in, goes home empty-handed.
What does the chart look like? The awards show generally begins about 5 pm Pacific Time, still daylight, in fact, when the stars walk down the red carpet and wave to the adoring crowd.

So I will use that time for the chart. This renders an ascendant of zero degrees Virgo. Virgo is actually a strong sign in the natal chart of Los Angeles. A forgotten writer of an old article on Tinseltown pointed out that Virgo is very apt, and is reflected in the many technical trades that are behind every film ever completed.

At any rate, the Ascendant is inconjunct Uranus in the eighth house, with Jupiter only a few degrees away. The inconjunct sometimes denotes an upset of some kind. Events that transpire are not quite what the audience expected to see. The ascendant is also sesquiquadrate the Moon (public) in Capricorn. Moon in Capricorn is good for formal fashions, but is rather dour for a gala event like this. Yet the sesqui aspect denotes that the public will have a difficult time accepting these fashions. The Ascendant opposes Mars in Pisces in the seventh house (with the Sun and Mercury nearby), and also opposes Neptune in the sixth house of work and health. Neptune is films in general, and Mars nearby is health issues. Perhaps the mental health and speech therapy themes of the films Black Swan and The King's Speech will be highlighted that night. (Neptune also rules afflictions, and illnesses with unknown or mysterious causes.)

The Ascendant is sextile the South Node in Gemini at the cusp of the eleventh house – the eleventh house probably denotes the guild that conducts this awards ceremony. Does the South Node denote a repeat winner?

The Midheaven is 26 degrees Taurus, which happens to be conjunct the evil star Algol. Wonder if anyone is supposed to get their head chopped off in the special effects category?

The Midheaven is trine Venus in Capricorn in the fifth house of entertainment. It is sextile Uranus in the eighth house, and square Neptune in the sixth. Neptune, as we said, is film in general. Perhaps the fact that Neptune is in the sixth house will put more focus on the technical trades and skills that give form to the writers' and director's vision.

Transiting Saturn (honors, or the experts' pick) squares the Moon (the public). It seems that the public may not like who the honorees are this year. This is not the People's Choice awards, after all. This is who the members of the industry think that the public should see. This may apply to the most talked-about film of the year, The King's Speech. The public is accustomed to seeing stuttering played for laughs, like in A Fish Named Wanda. Here it is treated seriously and with sensitivity as the Queen helps her husband overcome stuttering so that he can fulfill his duty to deliver speeches.

OK, on to the performing categories. We will treat the categories, Best Actor, Best Actress, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress, and Best Director.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS: (favorite: Helena Bonham Carter for The King's Speech; some buzz for Melissa Leo for The Fighter)

Jacki Weaver of Animal Kingdom has weak aspects; Saturn is inconjunct Mars, and Pluto is inconjunct Mercury. Maybe this is the beginning of a period of career growth. Melissa Leo of The Fighter has weak aspects plus a very negative aspect in Venus square the Moon. (Whew, the public will NOT like her dress that night.)
The Italian-born Amy Adams of The Fighter has interesting contacts. Saturn is opposite the Moon, so I do not think she will get the award, but her Mercury is conjunct the show's ascendant. Will she make a presentation, or accept for another performer? Hailee Steinfeld, nominated for True Grit, has favorable Mercury sextile the Sun, Saturn inconjunct the ascendant, and most powerfully, Neptune trine the show ascendant. If anyone has a chance to spring an upset, it is young Hailee.
The favorite, Helena Bonham Carter, has very strong multiple contacts to the Oscar night chart. Her Sun-Mercury is square Mars, powerful Jupiter is trine Mars, Saturn sextile Venus, Pluto trine the Moon, and her North Node is near the show Midheaven. Strong aspects involving the North Node (personal growth and recognition) and Jupiter (ruler of actors) are awfully hard to beat. It's like she has four aces in poker.

SUPPORTING ACTOR:
(favorite: Geoffrey Rush for The King's Speech, tho there is a lot of buzz for Christian Bale for The Fighter)

The supporting actor category is very difficult because several nominees have strong contacts to the Oscar night chart. Christian Bale (The Fighter) has Saturn trine Neptune and Neptune square the Sun; Neptune rules film in general, so strong aspects involving Neptune are a positive. John Hawkes of Winter's Bone has Jupiter opposite the show's midheaven, Saturn trine the ascendant, and the North Node inconjunct Mars. The opposition to the MC is not the best place for Jupiter, but the Saturn trine is excellent.

Jeremy Renner (The Town) has a frustrating Sun square Saturn so he will probably not win. Mark Ruffalo (TKAAR) has Sun square Neptune, Mercury trine Mercury, and a powerful Jupiter opposite Mars; I like this set of aspects the best. Geoffrey Rush (The King's Speech) has Venus square Neptune, Mars opposite Mars, Saturn (honors) conjunct Venus (recognition, compliments, gifts), Pluto trine Pluto and the North Node trine the North Node. This is a powerful set of aspects, especially the one with the North Node. I think it is between Misters Ruffalo and Rush, with the edge going to Mr. Ruffalo.

BEST ACTRESS: (favorite: Jennifer Portman for Black Swan, altho Annette Bening is getting some buzz, too)
Annette Bening (TKAAR) has Venus square Venus (possibly an anti-glamor look for the night), Pluto trine North Node, North Node sextile North Node, and Sun sextile Jupiter. I think these contacts to the North Nodes portend another phase to her career, possibly transitioning from a romantic lead to character parts. Nicole Kidman (Rabbit Hole) has only the Sun trine Neptune (a very glamorous look for the night), and North Node sextile Mars. This Mars aspect may mean that she starts taking more action roles, or initiates more film projects. I have no birth data on the favorite, Jennifer Portman, natch.
Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) has only Jupiter inconjunct the North Node (favoring a change in her career path), and Pluto sextile the Moon (giving her greater appeal among the mass audience). Michelle Williams (Blue Valentine) has Mercury opposite Uranus, Mercury square the North Node, and Mars inconjunct Jupiter. All of those are strong contacts for giving a speech, and a funny one at that, plus expressing her unique style in the acting trade. But I think that Annette really has a strong hand here, with the double contacts to North Nodes, and a Sun-Jupiter aspect. Without knowing what Ms. Portman's birth data is, I would pick Annette to win.

BEST ACTOR: (favorite: slam dunk for Colin Firth, The King's Speech)
The first actor to be-nominated for Best Actor in a Spanish-speaking role is Javier Bardem for Biutiful. This actor has his Sun conjunct Mercury, and Neptune square Neptune. This is very intriguing, for not only might he have an opportunity to speak (Mercury), he he is undergoing a Neptune square, a lesser-known transit but one that may be key for an actor. Perhaps a door is opening to him now to crossover to Hollywood-financed films.
Jeff Bridges, last year's winner and nominated this year for True Grit, has Sun square Mercury, Moon square Mars, Jupiter inconjunct Oscar show Ascendant, and Neptune conjunct Saturn. The latter is the most powerful, I think; it can be interpreted as filmwork receives honors.

James Franco (127 Hours) has several minor aspects but most regretfully his Mercury is opposite Saturn; his desire to speak is frustrated.

Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) has several interesting transits. His Sun is inconjunct Mercury, Venus is trine the North Node AND opposite Neptune, Mars opposes Mars, Jupiter trines lucky Jupiter, Saturn trines Mars, Neptune is inconjunct the midheaven, and Pluto is trine Neptune. Just being nominated was a huge stroke of luck for him, and it is just about inconceivable that he could beat shoo-in Colin Firth for the Oscar. But if any set of transits could do it, it is the Jupiter trine and the Venus-North Node-Neptune contact.

Last but not least, Colin Firth is nominated for The King's Speech. Co-stars Bonham (who played his Queen), and Geoffrey Rush are nominated in Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor categories. Firth has his Mercury trine the midheaven and Venus, creating a grand trine in earth signs. This is powerful stuff. Also Venus is inconjunct the Sun, Saturn (honors) is sextile Mercury (speech), Neptune is sextile Pluto and inconjunct Jupiter, and his North Node (personal and career growth) is trine the Moon (the public). Firth is the heavy favorite, so I am not risking anything here, but with that grand trine he is sure to take home the award. Slam dunk city.

BEST DIRECTOR: (favorite: David Fincher, The Social Network, altho this category is more open than most of the others)
The Best Director category is very difficult. Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) has his Moon square Uranus, possibly denoting being upset at not winning. Yet Jupiter is applying to his natal Venus, Jupiter squares Pluto, Neptune squares Neptune, and Jupiter has already passed his North Node. Joel and Ethan Coen are nominated for True Grit. Joel's Mars and Pluto are square the midheaven, Uranus opposes Venus, and Jupiter squares the North Node. While Ethan's Mercury opposes Mercury, Venus trines the Sun, Mars trines Venus, and a frustrating Saturn squares the Sun. Saturn is honors, but in this case squares usually deny them.

David Fincher (Social Network) has Mars trine Mars (would be better for an athletic event), Jupiter conjunct the Sun (very lucky), Neptune trine Mercury, Pluto opposite the Sun, and North Node trine Jupiter. Unfortunately I have no birth data on Tom Hooper (The King's Speech). I know, this is terrible; that makes two faves who I am flying in the dark about.

David O Russell (The Fighter) has Moon trine Mercury, Mars inconjunct Saturn, and a lucky Jupiter square Venus.

I think I have to pick the favorite, David Fincher, even though it is not a slam dunk. He is described as being a perfectionist, and with the ascendant of the Oscar show start time in Virgo, it would seem apropos.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 13-19, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Sorry am late. Have been recuperating from killer flu and dealing with assorted other obstacles. 2011 is a tough but promising year.

Mercury at 17 degrees Aquarius trines Saturn (retrograde) in Libra at 3:48 am Monday. The trine is helpful for detail work; you focus on the task at hand and don't feel much like small talk. However, you are so near to the trees that you cannot see the forest, comprende? This aspect also favors getting some long-range practical advice from a sage expert or an older person.

Oh, yeah, almost forgot. Valentine's Day is Monday (a Monday, bleah) so you are probably interested in the transits. The Moon in Cancer opposes Pluto and Venus at midday and night, respectively. Venus seems a lot better. If Venus at 11 degrees happens to be in the seventh house at the time of your dinner, the Venus person will sure seem irresistible. With the Moon in Cancer, the food is sure to be delicious, too. Possibly seafood (Cancer) will be on the menu, topped off with a scrumptious dessert (Venus, who rules sugar and butter). Avoid luncheon dates, when a T-square involving Pluto at 6 degrees, Moon and Jupiter is in effect and might not be too pleasant.

The Sun is conjunct Neptune at 28 degrees Aquarius at 4:56 am Thursday. Neptune conjunctions tend to confuse one's self-image; on the other hand it helps in changing one's image or appearance. Ex: coloring one's hair, or the way Madonna keeps reinventing herself. The cautions are to avoid drugs (and double-check your Rx refill label), alcohol, or other chemicals. Allergies can flare up. And beware of diving into emotional swamps, thinking you can 'save' someone. It's OK to escape with daydreams, meditation, artwork, music, etc.

Venus at 16 degrees Capricorn squares Saturn in Libra at 2:21 pm Friday. Time to withdraw for a bit and introspect about your relationships. A bit of self-analysis can produce insights that improve a discouraging situation. This square will be tougher than usual because Libra always gets frustrated if not in a happy partnership; maybe Libra is not happy because Capricorn is more interested in status than in the actual bond between the two parties.

For example, sometimes Cappy thinks he wants a trophy wife, when a solid and honest relationship is more conducive to long-term happiness. The square and opposition are the most difficult aspects between these two, while the conjunction and trine can be very positive.

And the Sun enters Pisces at 7:25 pm Friday. Happy birthday to all our fishy-signed friends!Pisces can be indecisive, hesitant, lack self-confidence, and get in their own way. They can enjoy crying on others' shoulders a bit too much. But the flip side is that Pisces can uplift others with their talents as artist, poet, musician, and social reformer/crusader.

This year's ingress is accompanied by Mercury, Mars and Neptune. They are in the sixth house of health in a chart set for Washington D.C. Other health indicators: Moon is in Virgo (in the twelfth house of hospitals), and trine Pluto in the fourth. Saturn is applying to the ascendant, indicating possible weight loss or ill health. And Neptune conjunct both the Sun and Mars saps the vitality of both. All this puts the burden on Pisces to watch their health carefully to get through a challenging year.

Also on Friday is a Full Moon at 29 degrees Leo. See last week's column about the series of FMs at 29 degrees. The Full Moon at 3:36 am Friday, at 29 degrees Leo, is conjunct the great star Regulus according to some books. Leos may be called on for their legendary courage this month.

An interesting thing happened with the Sun-Mars conjunction (exact Feb. 4 at 14 degrees Aquarius). I was sick most of the day and night before, with shall we say flu symptoms, and had to go to the ER Friday. Got re-hydrated with 2.5 units of fluid. Trying to figure out what was the contact to my chart and all I can come up with is that old Chiron was the culprit. He's >>at 17 degrees in my natal chart; I've written about him before. (give link) But why any of these bodies should cause this sudden and severe dehydration is a mystery to me. No fever, which would have been explained by Mars' presence -- chills, instead.

YAY! The Packers won the Super Bowl! What did I tell ya? And didn't I tell ya that Rodgers would have a great day? I did so. Too bad I was still too wiped out to go to a S.B. party or something. Hey, anybody have a tape of the game I could borrow?

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - The Moon is in Cancer this Valentine's Day on Monday, which just fine with you. The Moon in Cancer suggests restaurants with names related to home-family-foods, or to water itself, such as The Lakeside, The Creamery, the Brick Oven, the Something Family Restaurant, etc. The Sun-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius on Thursday morn is in your solar eleventh house of friends; be very cautious of anyone new who pushes you into a risky deal. You could get caught up in a T-square when Venus in Capricorn squares Saturn in Libra on Friday afternoon (after adding your natal planets to the mix). Love can be lost if you do nothing, but if you can convince the partner to go together for counseling, you could put it together OK.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 - The Moon is in Cancer this Valentine's Day on Monday, which just fine with you. This Moon in your solar third house suggests restaurants with names related to transit, relatives or education, such as Main Street Grill, The Schoolhouse, Three Brothers, or a local drive-in, etc. The Sun-Neptune conjunction early Thursday is in your solar tenth house of career. Hard to read this one. Perhaps the workplace is hit by frozen water pipes that burst. The Sun enters Pisces Friday night; this year it is very afflicted, in your solar eleventh house of friends. Some friend may be shifty and steal your identity or wallet. Be on the qui vive.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini as the week begins, but only thru Sunday. The Mercury-Saturn trine in air signs early Monday could set off your natal planets; seek the wisdom of elders. Midday sees a Moon-Mars trine; you may have to argue your case so be prepared with facts and documents. A Moon-Neptune trine that night favors relaxing with a movie. Maybe it might be better to rent or download, since a Moon-Uranus square a bit later the same night could mean upsetting events. The Sun-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius Thursday can present you with a shifty lawyer or other professional; get referrals from others before hiring anyone.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer from 12:48 am Monday till early Wednesday. The Moon squares Jupiter in Aries in your (solar) career sector on Monday morning, then a T-square forms midday with the Moon opposing Pluto in Capricorn. Evening is much better for a romantic dinner than at lunch, so plan accordingly. A square to Saturn first thing Tuesday just puts you in a negative mood, so force yourself to ignore it. The rest of the day is spent in adjustment mode; roll with the punches. A trine to Uranus overnight may bring dreams with unusual themes or vivid color.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from 4:14 am Wednesday till early Friday. Leos with planets in the first six degrees should guard their health Wed.; that means do not overdo on anything and do not take silly risks. Luck may protect you but then again... Thursday morn has a productive sextile to Saturn to help you absorb lessons in school. Your Moon opposes the stellium in Aquarius on Thurs.: Mercury, Mars, Neptune; your partner wants to talk about things that are bothering him/her. The Full Moon at 3:36 am Friday, at 29 degrees Leo, is conjunct the great star Regulus according to some books. Leos may be called on for their legendary courage this month.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 4:39 am Friday till early next Sunday. The Moon is inconjunct Jupiter in Aries midday Friday; some changes are coming inre to your insurance. Perhaps you shop around for a better quote, or seek referrals from friends. A Moon-Pluto trine in the afternoon is helpful in expressing your deep feelings thru artwork or music. A Moon-Venus trine kicks off the day Saturday; a lovely time for a picnic or day trip with a loved one. Earth signs like Virgo and Capricorn enjoy mountains, picnics or camping, even roughing it in rugged country.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Librans get a lot of contacts this week when transits go thru the air signs. Midday Sunday, the Moon in Gemini trines Mars in Aquarius; sports or athletic men are likely to catch your eye. The Moon trines the Sun about 3 pm (share your talents), and then Neptune at night (relax with a movie). The Moon in Cancer makes awkward aspects to a similar series of contacts on Tuesday; roll with the punches. Moon in Leo opposes all those Aquarius planets on Thursday night; a date or creative outlets will be hopping, but you may feel like your hopes for the date, etc. are just not fulfilled. The Moon in Virgo is inconjunct Mercury in Aquarius midday Saturday; try different phrases, etc. to help your beau understand you.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – On Monday and Tuesday, the Moon is in compatible Cancer. A late-night dinner Monday for Valentine's Day is just the thing, and don't forget dessert. Cancer is in your solar ninth house, so a restaurant that hints at faraway places would fit. Big Island Grill, Chinese, Indian or Italian places. Also, names that relate to transit like Route 56, the Whistle Stop. Thursday's Sun-Neptune conjunction occurs in your solar fourth house of home and family; a family member may just disappear for awhile. There is a chance of water (Neptune) damage to the home, so check for ice dams, leaks, old gaskets, disintegrating hoses, etc. The Sun enters your solar fifth house on Friday evening, where it energizes romance, fun, sports, children, and the arts. You will somehow find time to tend to all of the above.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – On Valentine's Day the Moon is in Cancer, which is a bit awkward for you. Cancer Moon is in your solar eighth house of joint funds. Been trying to link restaurant names with the Moon placement, but The Pit is a bit unlikely. How about the Stock Yards? Monday afternoon favors seeking wise advice about long-range planning from a friend or relative (under the Mercury-Saturn trine). The Sun-Neptune conjunction in your third house early Thursday throws sand in your eyes regarding a sibling or transit matters. The Sun enters Pisces, your solar fourth house, on Friday night. With Neptune nearby, water could damage your house, or a family member might just up and leave.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Cancer this Valentine's Day on Monday, which just fine with you. Your mate is the Moon, anyway. I suspect you will spare no expense to show your gratitude for all that your mate does all year to take care of you. Perhaps dinner in a top-floor restaurant with a panoramic view of city lights will do it for both of you. Watch out for the Sun-Neptune conjunction in your solar second house of money on Thursday; money could slip away, or you could forget a wallet. On Friday night the Sun enters Pisces, your solar third house of siblings, neighbors, letters/email. A long-lost brother may show up, or you start an online blog.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - The Moon is in Cancer this Valentine's Day on Monday, putting it in your solar sixth house of work and health. This seems rather unromantic, hmm? Perhaps a local restaurant has a suitable theme, like The Front Desk, the Old Mill, etc. Or the local health food store usually has excellent fresh foods and some little tables to the side. Mercury in your sign trines Saturn in Libra on Monday afternoon; chat with a mentor or senior for help forming long-range plans. A Sun-Neptune conjunction early Thursday can put gauze in front of your eyes and confuse you. See also notes above on this aspect. The Sun enters Pisces, your solar second house of money, on Friday night. It is possible you might make money on a film blog, but for most of us, Neptune means losses. Be on the qui vive.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - The Moon is in Cancer this Valentine's Day on Monday, putting it in your solar fifth house of fun, romance, and the arts. Moon in Cancer suggests restaurants attached to places people go for fun, like amusement parks, casinos, museums, etc. On Thursday, the Sun-Neptune conjunction occurs in your solar twelfth house of undoing. Be careful what you eat or drink on Wed-Thur, because it could bite back. The Sun enters your sign on Friday night; celebrate, but don't party too hearty. Neptune is nearby so nix the alcohol for now.

What Do the Stars Say About Super Bowl 2011?

by Milky Way Maid

At last we come to the Super Bowl 2011
, the premier game day in all of pro football and an unofficial mid-winter holiday. It is a peak day for TV viewing, eating, drinking, betting on the outcome, watching TV commercials, and all the other hoopla that accompanies this event.

But let's concentrate on the game, and on what the stars might say about the outcome.

First, let's look at the ascendant which represents the home team or the favorite. There is no home team in the Super Bowl, so we will try to scope out which team is the fave later in this article. Right now, let's just examine the aspects.

The date: Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011. Kickoff will be approximately 5:25 pm CT in Dallas Stadium, which is in Arlington, TX (halfway between Dallas and Ft. Worth).

That makes the ascendant 10 degrees Leo, with no aspects. This is quite startling for a major game like this.

The midheaven is 3 degrees Taurus, square Mercury in the sixth house. It is also trine Venus exactly in the fifth house (the game plan) with Pluto nearby. It is also sextile the South Node in the eleventh house of hopes/wishes. I think the quarterback will be the main story of the day, a youngish and attractive one. That seems to point to up-and-comer Aaron Rodgers rather than older veteran Ben Roethlisberger.

The ascendant ruler is the Sun in Aquarius; it is placed in the seventh house with Mars conjunct. That gives it high energy and vitality, although prone to accidents and temper tantrums. However, the Sun is trine retrograde Saturn in Libra, giving it the discipline to harness all that energy. Also the Sun is semisquare Venus in the fifth house, and semisquare Jupiter in the ninth house -- that puts the Sun at the midpoint of Venus/Jupiter in other words. I am not experienced in using midpoints so I will leave the interpretation of that to others, although it does look auspicious.

The descendant ruler is Uranus (Aquarius) which is conjunct both the Moon and Jupiter in an out-of-sign conjunction. Moon and Jupiter are in Aries, while Uranus is in Pisces. All of that energy is square Venus in the fifth house, and square the nodes.

But let's look at the co-ruler before making any judgment. Co-ruler is Saturn, and Saturn as we said, is retrograde in the third house, and trine Sun-Mars in the seventh house.

How to interpret the fact that Saturn is retrograde? Often a retrograde planet means you go back over the same ground again, doing things differently we hope. Experience (Saturn) helps us to know what traps to avoid and who to go to for advice or who to put on your team.

The Moon (public) is conjunct Jupiter-Uranus in the eighth house, square the nodes in houses 5 and 11, square Venus in the fifth house. The public is not frustrated by the outcome, the public is rather delighted and pleased in a big way (Jove-Uranus), and somehow the subtext of the day is the changing of the guard (the nodes, representing past and future). Square Venus is hard to peg; maybe there won't be much much value in betting this Bowl because the favorite wins?

The Packers quarterback is Aaron Rodgers, whose main aspect this day is his Sun-Uranus conjunction is exactly trine the game ascendant, an ascendant that has no transiting aspects. This gives him a strong tie to the game chart. His Moon in Scorpio is possibly square the game Mars in Aquarius; that might make him a bit too rash in the early going. His Mars is also square game Pluto plus 2 degrees; that could frustrate him but he will dig deep for his best efforts.

(cont'd) His Jupiter is sextile game Sun-Mars in Aquarius, and Saturn in Libra. This is another midpoint, and I can only speculate that his athletic efforts will be disciplined and he will show leadership. His Saturn is square the Ascendant, his Mercury-Neptune conjunction is sextile game Neptune, his Pluto is inconjunct the Moon, his Pluto is also sextile the North Node, and his North Node is trine both Sun-Mars and Saturn for a very powerful grand trine in air. I have to say that his passing game is likely to be the key element in his performance of the day, and could well carry the day for the Packers.

Now let's look at Ben Roethlisberger, quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has ample experience in playing and winning Super Bowls, so we have to have a high regard for his ability and for the managing and coaching staff behind him. They know what it takes to win at this level.

Ben's Moon is semisextile the Ascendant, giving him a tie to the unaspected game Moon. Mercury is near the transiting Sun in Aquarius. His Venus is sextile the Moon (public); the fans like him and think well of his abilities. The game Saturn is applying to his natal Mars, though, and that is a troubling aspect; he is sure to be frustrated in his athletic attempts. Jupiter squares the Ascendant, providing an opportunity to do well. Saturn is widely applying to his natal Saturn (in other words his Saturn return is approaching). He may well retire after this year is over and done with. Uranus is sextile Mercury, favoring his passing game, his play-calling, and his general quickness. Neptune is square game Uranus, though (orb 2 degrees). Pluto is inconjunct game Uranus, and trine game Neptune.

I don't think that it looks good for Ben in this game. The aspect between his Neptune and Pluto to the game Uranus and Neptune look to me like he will make some fatal errors. Transiting Saturn is applying to his natal Mars, and more widely to his natal Saturn, so I do not see him having a stellar day. He does have a nice sextile from his Uranus to the game Mercury, so possibly his passing game will be alright.

RE the Packers, I was concerned that the ascendant at ten degrees Leo has no aspects whatever, but Aaron Rodgers Sun trines that degree exactly. He will have his work cut out for him. But his North Node is trine the Sun-Mars conjunction in Aquarius, and trine Saturn in Libra; his air game should be spectacular. And yet, will it be enough to overcome the fact that the ascendant ruler is in the seventh house, the house of the opponent? We have seen the Bears lose under that aspect in the final playoff, and manage to win under the previous playoff. So now I do not know what to think.

Generally the game goes to the team with the strongest quarterback chart. That is how I called the upset in last year's Super Bowl. I believe Mr. Rodgers will have a stellar day on Super Bowl Sunday; I only hope that it will be enough to lead the team to a win.

BTW, in clearing out some stuff from my car last week, I discovered an old sweatshirt. It was from Super Bowl XXXI, when the Packers defeated the Patriots in New Orleans on January 26, 1997. Gee, could this be an omen? I don't know, but the odds are good that I will be wearing it on Feb. 6. Good luck, Packers!! Give 'em heck in Dallas!!

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 6-12, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 6 looks rather interesting.
The Sun-Mars conjunction in Aquarius trines Saturn at 17 degrees Libra in the wee hours (1:40 am), and Venus is square Jupiter at zero degrees Aries at 2:49 pm. The Moon is conjunct Uranus in Pisces in early afternoon, but moves into Aries and soon is conjunct Jupiter in Aries that night.

I am writing a separate article on the astrology of the 2011 Super Bowl, but as for mundane matters, these aspects are favorable for taking action and showing leadership.

Venus is conjunct Pluto at 6 degrees Capricorn at 8:52 pm Wednesday. (The Moon in Taurus trines the conjunction.) Well, this is a little too close for comfort to my third house cusp again. Recall how I told you the story of my computer getting zapped by an online attack under the Sun-Pluto conjunction. Venus conjunct Pluto represents intense feelings welling up, sometimes marred by jealousy or guilt or other fun stuff like that. Now, I am a little too old to do it in the car, which is another third-house interpretation. Perhaps a short trip is in order. I'll tell ya what happens next.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - The Moon is in Aries from 5:45 pm Sunday till Wednesday morning. The Moon-Jupiter conjunction in Aries squares Venus in your career sector on Sunday night. Opportunities beckon. The Aries Moon sextiles Mercury, plus Moon squares Pluto early Monday; a friend warns you the boss is in a bad mood. The Moon opposes Saturn about 4 am Tuesday; ignore this 'bad-mood' transit and move on. Friends fill the gap at work Tuesday morn. A Moon-Neptune sextile very early Wednesday can bring interesting dreams; keep a notepad at bedside. Wednesday's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar tenth house of career; possibly a coworker has a crush on you which becomes painfully apparent that day. Uh, handle it carefully and consult the employee handbook.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 6:22 am Wednesday till Friday afternoon. Moon trines Venus and Pluto in Capricorn Wednesday night; since it is in your fifth house, it sounds like a very heavy date, indeed. Thursday is kinda difficult: the Moon is inconjunct Saturn in your sixth house, where restrictions chafe you. And the Moon also squares Sun-Mars in Aquarius, your career house. This adds up to everything irritating you; careful not to lash out at coworkers, or it's bye-bye. The Moon-Neptune square about midday Friday means stay alert if dashing out for lunch; no daydreaming!

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Wednesday's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar eighth house of wills, contracts, insurance. A large insurance check may finally arrive, or battles over who gets what in your will can break out. The Moon is in Gemini from 5:20 pm Friday till next Sunday night. A Moon-Jupiter sextile brings late-night good-times with an Aries pal on Friday. Saturday morn's aspects to Venus and Pluto may bring a beneficial visit to a health practitioner. Saturday night may be spent politicking or talking about serious issues, possibly on the internet; it'll be a mega rap session. Next Sunday looks quite active ...

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Sunday has Moon-Jupiter in Aries squaring Venus in Capricorn in your solar seventh house of partners; your partner could be a key person to help you get your real career launched. Tuesday's a high-energy day with the Aries moon sextile Sun-Mars; you could get a lot done at work or re writing a will or annuity contract. Wednesday's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar seventh house of partners; conversation could take a serious turn tonight, and that could be for the good if you finally put the games aside.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - The Moon trines Venus on Wednesday; you won't feel like working except to spruce up the workplace. Wednesday night's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar sixth house of health and work. You may finally be willing to start eating healthy and pare the extra layers of lovable fat. The week throws you some challenges with the Moon in Taurus squaring your natal planets, and the Moon also squaring Sun-Mars in your opposite sign, Aquarius. So work and partnership issues are going to be the theme for the week. Your partner is just irritable, what with that high-energy Sun-Mars thing going on. Help him or her to burn off energy in games and such.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - Wednesday's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar fifth house of children, art, recreation. It seems this kind of aspect lends itself more to love and sex issues, like are you going to settle down and get married, or, are you going to settle down and have kids? Be careful if tempted to give 'the talk' to your steady, or you could chase him away. The calendar means nothing to guys, so don't say, we've been going together a year now, as if that means he has to give you a ring. It doesn't.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 - Wednesday's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar fourth house of home and family. Don't say anything you can't take back, or someone could walk out, never to return. Your opposite sign is getting some high-energy transits early this week, so if you can stand him/her bouncing off the walls, it should be fun. Things calm down a bit later in the week, tho an air trine develops Saturday night. Moon in Gemini, trine Mercury in Aquarius, trine Saturn in your sign. Plus your natal planets, the air signs should have no problem brainstorming or running a rap session. Topic? How the internet is changing the English language?

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Wednesday's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar third house of transit, messages, and education. Have you paid your student loan bill lately? Better check that out. In other news, you are going to keep hitting the squares to Sun-Mars in Aquarius for a while, every time the Moon is in opposite sign Taurus. Right now your home life could be unusually energetic, with some risk of fire. A family member could be really irritable; talk things out with them. They don't have a right to abuse other members of the family just because they're in a bad mood, OK, but show that you care about what's going on with them.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Wednesday's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar second house of money. Let's hope it means something coming in instead of something going out. Sometimes both happen, canceling each other out -- which is what I suspect may happen here. Hey, get a load of the grand air trine on Saturday night, because you could reap some benefit from it. Moon in Gemini, Merc in Aquarius, and Saturn in Libra; you or your partner could be in the public eye.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - The Moon trines Venus on Wednesday night, possibly spurring you to redo the house, especially the den. Wednesday's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar first house of self; feeling lonely? Well, look in the mirror for the reason why. Reach out to those who mean something to you with something more personal than email. In other news, a Taurus may cost you some money whenever the Moon in the Bull squares Sun-Mars in your solar second house, Aquarius, like it does late Thursday. But he or she is worth it.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon trines Venus on Wednesday night, possibly spurring you to redo the house, especially the den. The Moon squares that Sun-Mars conjunction in your sign late Thursday; are you the one who's going to be the pain in the buttski? Sun-Mars usually brings either high energy or extreme irritability; which will it be? Work off frustrations in games and exercise, and keep an eagle eye out for safety. You can accomplish a lot this week if you can just simmer down and focus.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces as the week begins, but only till early Sunday evening. You might apply for a grant from a non-profit (or a loan from a friend, but we know the hazards of that). Wednesday's Venus-Pluto conjunction occurs in your solar eleventh house of friends; a friend who doesn't want to be 'just friends' anymore may surprise you.
