Your Milky Way Horoscope June 5-11, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury in Gemini trines Saturn at 10 degrees Libra at 4:40 pm Tuesday
. Serious discussion is on your agenda, possibly with an older mentor type. You might want to use this mentor as a sounding board, or pick their brains for sage advice. The keyword is practicality, or should I say pragmatism.

Jupiter in Taurus sextiles Neptune at 0 degrees Pisces at 10:39 pm Wednesday. Since Neptune rules film, I bet lots of people will be moved to hold their own private film festival, or possibly pull out the camera to make their own. Launching a photography, film, wine, or large-animal venture is favored, if it ties in with your natal planets. On another level, Neptune is ideals, and Jupiter is spirituality. Therefore people affected by this transit may feel more aware of how things like karma or dharma work. You may adopt an uncomplicated philosophy such as 'pay it forward.'

Venus enters flirtatious Gemini at 10:23 am Thursday. Yes, you flirt, flirt, flirt. It's almost like, geez, I'm so good at it, why can't I get a job doing this? Well, maybe you can. Kind of. Met a coworker who gave presentations and attributed her job to her gift of gab. Well, if she can do it then so can you. Gemini Venus can present factual info in such a way that it is not only painless, it is a definite pleasure. Gemini Venus can make people feel welcome with just a smile, a nod, and a phrase. This is ideal for stewardesses, convention staffers, restaurant hostesses, and just about anyone who works with the public.

Venus in Gemini squares Neptune at 0 degrees Pisces at 4:24 am Friday. Oh, there you go again. Venus and Neptune can fall in love at the drop of a hat but the problem is, they are not falling in love with the person. They are falling in love with their fantasy of what the person is. Having no real experience of what the person is like, he or she is just a tabula rasa (blank slate) that they have written their fantasy onto. I mean, it can still work out OK if the people are basically decent anyway, but too often the Prince Charming is a swindler.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – A chat with an authority on Tuesday might be quite an eye-opener. Venus moves into your solar third house on Thursday; a sibling may be more appreciative of you, so trade favors, house-sit, etc. Just be careful on Friday when Venus gets tangled up with Neptune and can't see straight anymore. Don't believe everything that people tell you. Friday morning also has Pluto square the Moon and square your natal planets, so it might be a challenge to get excited about going to work. But you will...

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Jupiter in your sign sextiles Neptune in Pisces, your solar eleventh house of friends. Now on the one hand this could portend a shifty 'friend' taking you for a ride, but on the other hand you might feel drawn to joining a charitable or spiritual organization. The latter can enrich your life tremendously so I encourage you to follow that pull. Not only is Jupiter in your sign now, the lesser benefic Venus enters your solar second house of money on Thursday. Are you on a roll or what? The change in your luck is just beginning so give it a little time to percolate.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Mercury in your sign trines Saturn on Tuesday pm; this favors consultations and any serious discussions. I know, Gemini rarely likes to be serious, but it's time to Take Care of Business. Then Venus enters your sign on Thursday, yay. You're skilled at persuasion, but with Venus on your side, you can succeed with an even lighter touch. Venus in your sign also favors getting a new do at the salon. Maybe you can talk them into a discount if you promise great mention on your blog. Be careful Friday morn with that Venus-Neptune square; count your change, and your fingers, too.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer as the week begins, but only till midday. Sunday morning features a pleasant Moon-Venus sextile, favoring brunch with friends or at the lodge. Wednesday might be your best day when Jupiter in Taurus sextiles Neptune at 0 degrees Pisces, making easy trines and sextiles to your sign. Going to the movies with friends will be such fun, you will wonder why you don't do it more often. Saturday is also a great movie night (if you have to take a rain check) due to the Moon-Neptune trine.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from 11:03 am Sunday till midday Tuesday. Dinner with Arians appeals to you, as a trine to Uranus in Aries promises lots of good laughs. Your own wit may sharpen as the evening goes on. Easy sextiles on Monday help smooth the workday, but a Moon-Mars square at night can make you rush around wasting energy. Midday Tuesday offers a Moon-Venus square, which may mean a challenge; ex.: having to sell X amount for a company bonus. Venus enters your solar eleventh house on Thursday, bringing benefits from friends or from membership in associations or clubs.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 3:33 pm Tuesday till Thursday night. A tempting offer may fall in your lap Tuesday afternoon under a trine to Jupiter- but look under the hood because Neptune is opposed and may mean that promises may not be kept. I see a mechanical repair, or perhaps a medical checkup, in store for late Tuesday. Wednesday you feel empowered under a Pluto trine. Midday can see some communication mixups so verify, and keep everyone in the loop. Energy is high Thursday morning with a trine to Mars. Venus enters your solar tenth house of career; you may be able to earn bonuses or appreciation certificates.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Saturn in your sign gets a pleasant trine to Mercury Tuesday afternoon; you may be asked for advice, or invited to write a column as the expert you are. The Moon is in Libra from 6:31 pm Thursday till Saturday night. Venus enters your solar ninth house on Thursday, smiling on positive results in legal matters, publishing, religion, college, travel and national politics. The Moon trines Venus Thursday night, favoring a dinner date or at least a phone call. The Moon-Saturn conjunction midday Friday helps you stay objective and on course. Larks will benefit from nice trines Saturday in the pre-dawn. But an inconjunct to Mars about 9 am forces you to improvise.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon in challenging Leo squares Jupiter in Taurus midday Sunday, making a T-square with your natal planets. It may be hard to balance career with married life, but make an effort. Tuesday may be your best day with the Moon in compatible Virgo, with trines helping you make successful pitches to partners or customers. Venus enters your solar eighth house on Thursday, meaning your spouses finances may improve. The Moon is in Scorpio from 8:33 pm Saturday thru the weekend. Rose-colored glasses predominate Saturday night, but maybe you'd enjoy a positive film.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The conversation with friends takes a serious turn on Tuesday. Boring you silly, I know, but keep your ears open and learn. Venus enters your opposite sign on Thursday. Usually that means a lovely thing suddenly crosses your line of vision. This time it might be your own spouse, newly gussied up at the salon. So fuss over her, take her out. Maybe you can arrange to fall in love with her again on Friday morning, when you could fall in love with just anyone who crosses your path. But you'd rather fall for someone you already know is crazy about you, right?

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – On Tuesday, a friend or someone in a club you belong to offers some sage advice. Problem is, it may not be quite what you want to hear, but mull things over for a few days. With Venus entering your solar sixth house on Thursday, you might have improved luck selling your craft projects or personal services. Don't take the first offer; it will probably be a real lowball offer and insult you. Your health may also take an upturn, tho you might try to limit sweets a bit.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Tuesday favors having a serious bull session, under the Mercury-Saturn trine. Those planets will in turn trine your natal planets for an air grand trine. Hmm, take good notes on all the ideas lobbed around because you will possibly be able to mine a lot of them over the next year or so. Venus enters Gemini on Thursday, your solar fifth house of fun and romance. This favors looking for a love interest if you are not attached, especially if dating takes you to amusement parks or sports venues.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Venus enters Gemini, your solar fourth house on Thursday. Time to spruce up the home again, get out paint and wallpaper samples. The Gemini influence tends to like an airy look in general, with light colors especially lemon. Gemini loves miniatures, so you might want to display your collection. On Friday, Venus in Gemini squares Neptune in your sign; you may be all googly-eyed over a family member's new friend and not see obvious warning signs. Saturday night is favored for your all-night film fest under a Moon-Neptune trine. Ask a Taurus friend over to share popcorn with.

Note on the Asteroid Vesta

by Milky Way Maid
Hi,

I've been reading a book about Roman times, and came across some references to the Vestal Virgins. You might want to make a note of this if you use the asteroids.

It seems that the Vestal Virgins of Rome were charged with not only keeping up prayers to the gods. They were also charged with the duty of keeping wills. They had a system for storing all the wills that had been entered to their keeping, so that a particular will could be quickly located upon the demise of the owner. The Vestals held over two million wills. Wills from provinces and foreign countries were in one wing, Italian wills in another area, and those from Rome itself in yet another. The temple had upstairs, downstairs and part of a basement devoted to storage of these wills.

And the most important part of their mission was to protect the privacy of these wills. No one was to have access to learn the contents of these wills until after the demise of the owner/writer. No bumping off old Uncle Cornelius or Aunt Livia to gain the thousand talents he or she intends to bestow on you.

So we can add 'privacy' to the list of ideas attached to the asteroid Vesta. I had already suspected that privacy was key to Vesta rather than security as so many suppose, and this just seals it for me.

Vesta has nothing to do with the writing of the wills, per se; that would come under the purview of Mercury or perhaps the signs Gemini and Virgo. She has nothing to do with the legal functions connected with estates; that would come under Jupiter (law) and the eighth and ninth houses. She has nothing to do with the lawyers who draw up the will; that would possibly come under the purview of Pallas Athena, in her role as advocate. And she has nothing to do with the wealth redistributed upon execution of the estate; that might come under the purview of Pluto, the immensely wealthy god of mining riches.

Vesta just maintains the privacy of personal records and in particular the privacy of wills. There have been only rare breaches of this sacred duty, one of which was when the contents of Marcus Antonius' will became public and caused a political brouhaha. But this is a case when the exception proves the rule, as my old fourth grade teacher used to say.

Your Milky Way Horoscope May 29-June 4, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun in Gemini trines Saturn at 10 degrees Libra
at 5:15 am Wednesday, just about 12 hours before the Solar Eclipse. The aspect will be slowly separating by the time of the solar eclipse later the same day; much better for getting a solid start on your ambitions whatever they may be. Diligence at checking things off your to-do list comes easier with Saturn's help. And the boss may be watching and taking note, so follow standard procedure at all times. Saturn also represents elders; this is a fine opportunity to consult with a mentor or senior member of the firm.

The Solar Eclipse occurs at 11 degrees, 2 minutes of Gemini, at 4:08 pm Wednesday. It features a prominent Sun-Saturn trine, which is fortunately separating so that we are not crushed underfoot by old man Saturn. (See above for notes) Gemini eclipses often affect performers and other public persons in the U.S., due to our Sag ascendant. Look for some unusual headlines about our public figures.

Mercury enters Gemini at 4:02 pm on Thursday. Gemini is one of its homes; it has two, befitting the dual planet himself. Mercury in Gemini tends to make one the trivia king, but is that really the best use of your talents? If you can focus on just one topic for a little bit, you can master it and teach others the tricks of the trade. Mercury promptly squares Neptune in Pisces. Neptune tends to throw pink dust in our eyes, making see only what we want to see instead of reality. Now, you could try blending these planetary energies by constructive use of some affirmations. Affirmations are words or ideas (Mercury) that we meditate on (Neptune) in order to override whatever negative programming we may have suffered earlier in our lives.

Mercury in Gemini sextiles Uranus at 4 degrees Aries at 3:57 pm Saturday. This could be a serendipitous day. New puzzles to tease your brain, breaking out of routines, a funny conversation with a unique person, or a casual verbal exchange that spawns exciting ideas – these are all symbolized by this aspect. You might pick up some article on a Uranian topic, such as astrology, technology, computers, electronics, psychology, or parapsychology.

Jupiter changes signs again, entering the sign of Taurus the Bull at 9:56 am Saturday. Bulls can enjoy Jupiter's effects into next year, because it will not be leaving their sign until almost mid-June 2012. Taurus tends to put on weight every year even without a transiting Jupiter, so this may not be a very welcome transit. BUT if you use this Jovian energy to broaden your views, expand your influence on others, try new things, then you could dodge the weight-gain bullet. Jupiter in Taurus represents actualizing the potential of your resources; that may mean taking odds and ends and creating something of beauty out of them. Ultimately the best investment you can make is in your own self, so this year may see you taking classes, starting a business, or offering your unique skills and talents to a wider audience. Taurus often works very hard for less pay than they deserve, but Jove may finally smile on your sweet self. Good luck!

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – You feel like you can do anything when a Moon-Jupiter conjunction starts the day Sunday. You may be right, but still use some common sense. No jumping off the garage roof, for example. The Moon is in Aries for only a few hours early Sunday, but that whopper of a conjunction can carry you through the day and maybe even the week. Jupiter enters your solar second house on Saturday, zowie, that could bring a nice financial cushion over the next year, or at least protect your assets from losses. Also on Saturday you may latch onto some cool brain exercises or games on the internet, so search away.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 9:02 am Sunday till Tuesday night. The Moon sextiles Neptune in the late morning on Sunday. The world will look so darn beautiful, better take your camera along on a walk to capture it. The Moon conjoins Mars (1:43 pm) and then Venus (9:23 pm) on Monday; you will need to move around at midday, so at least take a walk during lunch break; Venus wants to socialize so having people over for dinner or dessert is favored Monday night. Catch up with gossip or email midday Tuesday with Mercury conjoining the Moon in Taurus. Jupiter enters your sign on Saturday; see notes above.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - The Moon is in Gemini from 7:56 pm Tuesday till Friday morn. The Moon squares Neptune Tuesday night, favoring a night at the movies. The Sun trines Saturn early Wednesday; try to consult with a mentor, senior or elder. A partial Solar Eclipse at 11 degrees, 2 minutes of Gemini occurs at 5:03 pm Wednesday. The trine to Saturn in Libra could bring you honors and recognition this year, possibly for a creative project such as a book, painting, symphony, dance, etc.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon in compatible Taurus joins Mars and Venus in your solar 11th house Monday; friends and clubs may offer high-energy activities and games. The Moon is in Cancer from 4:36 am Fri. till midday next Sunday. A Moon-Neptune trine early Fri. encourages you to focus on an ideal before starting the day. A square to Uranus at midday can bring insight. The Moon sextiles Mars about midday Sat., prompting you to get up and move around more. You might even engage in sports or games. Also Sat., Jupiter enters your solar 11th house, promising benefits thru friends and organizations; so don't let club membership lapse.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Monday's Moon-Mars-Venus conjunction in your solar tenth house offers competition and opportunities to make sales presentations. Mercury enters your solar eleventh house Thursday, increasing contacts with friends and colleagues. The sextile to Uranus on Sat. may offer some surprising info or a new way of looking at things. Jupiter enters your solar tenth house on Sat., dear Leo, so I hope you are ready for your turn in the spotlight.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Mercury enters Gemini on Thursday, squaring your natal Sun by sign. Mercury in your solar tenth house increases the tempo of the work day and increases the volume of calls and emails. You may find yourself repeating basic info many times, so you might try to build that info into a FAQ question on the company website or into the voicemail system. Jupiter enters your solar ninth house on Saturday, possibly bringing a favorable legal judgment, a publishing success, a religious experience, a long trip, or a step into national politics.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Mercury enters compatible Gemini on Thursday; your solar ninth house is activated with more messages flying around to lawyers, publishers, colleges, or clergy. This may be related to the Wednesday's Solar Eclipse in Gemini, putting the focus on the sectors I've listed. The Moon enters Cancer on Friday morn, squaring Uranus at midday and demanding you take action. On Saturday Mercury sextiles Uranus for some surprising news or a new approach to one of your problems.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – A Moon-Neptune aspect Sunday favors a picnic lunch by the water; you might like it so much you make it a regular date. I'm a bit leery of giving anyone too much control over joint funds/investments with the Sun there in your eighth house, trined by Saturn. You may get great advice but I would not put all one's funds into any one thing. Wednesday's trine to the Sun Jupiter enters your solar seventh house on Saturday, bringing a significant other who fills that corner of your life to the brim. If you have a public career, this upcoming year may see you in great demand.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Sun-Saturn trine on Wednesday may open up a leadership position with one of your clubs; the Solar Eclipse the same day also energizes this aspect. Mercury enters your solar seventh house, Gemini, on Thursday. Communication with your partner is accented, and the sextile to Uranus Saturday helps you laugh together. Jupiter enters your solar sixth house on Saturday, bringing a great new doctor, an upturn in your health, and/or opportunities to turn your hobby into a profitable sideline.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Monday's Moon-Mars-Venus conjunction in your solar fifth house energizes the creativity, romance and fun department. Jupiter joins the fray on Saturday, bringing many options in the romance department. Investments may also be hugely profitable. Mercury enters your solar sixth house of health and work on Thursday, increasing calls and messages from your health practitioners; perhaps you need to schedule a checkup?

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Wednesday's Solar Eclipse in compatible Gemini accents your solar fifth house of creativity and romance; Gemini there may indicate mere flirtations and that's OK, but the trine to Saturn may favor getting serious and settling down. Jupiter enters your solar fourth house on Saturday, offering a chance to expand your home or family. An international visitor may stay over, or you may (profitably) invest in a hotel/motel or restaurant venture.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Gemini Solar Eclipse on Wednesday accents your solar fourth house of home and family. The trine to Saturn may indicate it would benefit you to consult with an older relative, perhaps your spouse's parents or grandparents. Mercury also enters your fourth house, increasing the volume of messages in your in-box. Jupiter enters your solar third house on Saturday, offering a mind-expanding year either in a classroom or on the internet.

ASTROLOGY BOOKS for SALE, Part One

by Milky Way Maid

This is my first astrology book sale on my website. I have written up brief reviews below with the asking price and the link to the listing on Amazon books.

What we are going to do is, I am going to activate the comment section; then if you have chosen to buy the book off the Amazon website, you can come back here to write I comment that you have bought the book. That way we don't have a bunch of frustrated people going to Amazon only to find that the title is already gone. I think this is the fairest way of doing things.

So without further ado here is the first batch of books on the topic of astrology or related topics.

---------------------------------

Astrology & Weight Control by Beverly Flynn
reg. 10.95, on sale for 7.77

Beverly Flynn identifies two planets, Jupiter and Pluto (the largest and the smallest) as the prime movers in weight control problems. She has much to say about the sun signs or ascendant signs that are prone to weight gain, and about looking to one's opposite sign for a lesson that needs to be learned.
Along the way she uses the device of a delightful fairy tale of a zaftig princess and the wee elf named Sebastian who teaches her some vital lessons in how to beat her weight problem.
The root cause of weight gain, she feels, is one's resistance or welcoming attitude towards change. Obviously the fixed signs tends to resist change and therefore hold on to the past symbolized in the extra poundage. Mutable signs tend to welcome change, perhaps too much change, but they tend to be thinner than their cardinal or fixed brethren.
She gives greater weight (no pun intended) to the ascendant, as repository of the psyche and its inner needs, than to the Sun and Moon. I may differ on that, but this review is not about me.
It isn't just the natal placements and houses that need to be examined. One also needs to analyze transits and progressions if the natal planets do not scream out weight problems, yet one finds the needle climbing higher on one's bathroom scale.
Most chapters use the cookbook approach, with an interpretation of a given planet in the series of signs and houses given. I feel that the novice astrologer or even the lay person can benefit from a reading of this book. If nothing else, she reinforces the lessons of the basic nature of the zodiac signs.
This copy is in Very Good condition, with no ink or pencil or highlighting marks, no folded corners, and a very bright newish cover. There is slight wear and tear to the bottom edge of the cover spine, but the binding is tight. Casting the Horoscope (Ninth Edition) by Alan Leo
originally 5.95 (hah!) on sale for 49.00

It is difficult to know how to start describing a volume that has been revered as one of the pillars of modern astrology. But after perusing its pages I have come to respect Alan Leo even more, as a scholar on top of his reputation as an astrologer.
The book "Casting the Horoscope" has much to recommend it as a reference book on your personal astrological library. The glossary alone is worth a few bucks; it gives precise scientific definitions and lucid explanations of the terms therein listed. I don't think I had ever read actual definitions of these terms before! Also some chapters are like extended definitions of terms like sidereal time, local time and more. One chapter has an illustrated example of chart rectification; for this and for several other lessons, the birth data of King George V and Edward VII are used.
The Appendices cover secondary directions, methods of house division, the real zodiac, the epoch's relation to the birth chart, how to find an unknown ascendant, standard time and more. This is followed by the condensed ephemeris, which may of course be redundant in this age of computer software. But I recommend checking your software printout against any good ephemeris to catch whatever bugs may be lying in wait there. I have had some trouble lately due to my software being only partially correct; it was giving me the right positions of the planets, but was a bit haphazard as far as accuracy on Nodes and Ascendants. Arrgghh. (So I apoliogize here for having confused any readers with erroneous references to aspects to said nodes or ascendants; the problem is being addressed the best I can with the resources I have available personally and online.)
One section I read with interest was one that explained some phenomena re zero degrees of cardinal midheavens at the equator versus at other latitudes. It might serve you well to use that section as homework, playing with various latitudes on your computer software until the lesson sinks in. You will be miles ahead of many other Sunday astrologers if you do.
Note that there are tables of logarithms also for those who wish to calculate things (oh all right, ascendants and things like that) the way they did back then.
Loads of fun for serious students of astrology. A wonderful addition to the serious home library.
This copy is in pretty good shape, with no writing inside. No ink, pencil or highlighting. No folded corners as far as I can see. Sturdy binding, with no loose pages. Pretty clean, but obviously used and with some wear to corners. You can see my listing on Amazon at:

Circular Evidence by Pat Delgado and Colin Andrews
originally 14.95, on sale for 9.99

England's leading investigators of the crop circle phenomenon produced this lavishly photographed and documented record of the great variety of designs. Still one of the best sources of objective documentation of crop circles. Sites of these crop circles include Headbourne Worthy, Litchfield, Cheesefoot Head, Corhampton, Gander Down, Clatford, Wantage, Longwood Estate, South Wonston, Whiteparish, Kimpton, Westbury, Beckhampton, Upton Scudamore, Bratton, Chilcomb, Winterbourne Stoke, Silbury Hill.
The pair also document the varied circle formations and details with schematic sketches, as well as an explanation of their own photographic technniques.
They then present possible theories of how these circles are formed, and the scientific problems with each. Fairy ring fungi have nothing to do with cereal crops, and would in any case produce random distortion in growth. Gravity, piezoelectric generation, gaseous pressure build-up, electric potential differences, mechanical pressure from rock stress movement, centrifugal force, tidal breathing effort, volcanic pressure, steam pressure and other forces are all considered briefly.
Many people scoff at crop circles because of the supposed confession by two British gentlemen who claimed to have made a series of local crop circles. However, the phenomenon has occurred for too many decades and all over the world to be so easily dismissed in this fashion.
This copy is very clean with no writing inside and no folded corners (dog ears). The binding is tight and the book lies flat. You can see my listing on Amazon at: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004SHMUU4/?seller=A189RYKUC6X12X

Intuition Made Easy by Carol Ann Liaros
originally 19.95, now on sale for 9.99
Carol Ann Liaros' main claim to fame is teaching blind people how to see by developing their intuition; one a blind person masters the technique, he describes vision as seeing 'out of his forehead.'
This volume has condensed her courses into simple and easily conducted experiments in intuition or remote viewing. For example, one exercise asks you to visualize a place that you have never been before, such as a local restaurant or shop. After writing out your description, go to the place and see how well it matches what you have written. The results may surprise you!
That was just one of a half dozen or so similar exercises. Another one involves trying out scanning things with your hands.
Working through the book with a spouse, friend or relative can be a wonderful way of drawing you closer to each other. Being able to communicate silently adds another dimension entirely to the relationship.
This is a very clean copy in NEW condition. No writing is inside, and the cover is shiny new-looking. Clean, cover, edges and pages.

Your Milky Way Horoscope May 22-28, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun in Gemini (at almost 1 degree) squares Neptune in Pisces at 3:31 am Sunday
morning (May 22). Most of us will be asleep, of course, so one interpretation is simply an active dream life. Another possibility is that people will wake up all fuzzy brained and this could last through their commutes, so be alert out there. Neptune in hard aspects to the Sun saps our energy and clouds our judgment. Best thing is to just relax by the pool, as Neptune is quite watery and having water nearby calms and restores us.

Venus is conjunct Mars at 8 degrees Taurus at 4:25 am Monday. NOTE This is a critical degree. You never really know what is going to happen but pay attention to the news today because whatever enters the scene will be something significant: a company's public offering, a new player in global politics, etc. Venus-Mars conjunctions in natal charts give the native high energy; in a transiting chart it favors male-female relationships. In fact you may meet a lovely Other who brightens your life, but this aspect does not BY ITSELF guarantee any long-term quality to the match (although just the fact that it is in fixed-sign Taurus does tend to help it stick around a bit). This could be the start of something big, to quote the Steve Allen song.

Venus in Taurus is inconjunct Saturn at 10 degrees Libra at 2:47 pm Tuesday. Time to revise one's budget to reduce expenditures yet again. Adapt to what is: the economy may be getting better but not very quickly, while inflation is on the prowl. And the usual spring gouge at the gas pumps is in progress as we speak, so people just have less disposable income. (This aspect was preceded by Mercury inconjunct Saturn on Monday morning. That was just to introduce some fresh data into the equation. It is then followed by Mars inconjunct Saturn, forcing us to take actions in accordance with our new budget, and to bend our wills to our new goals.)

The Sun in Gemini is inconjunct Pluto at 6 degrees Capricorn at 10:38 am Saturday, May 28. Now you really will be stared down by the seemingly unalterable Way Things Are in your life today, but at the same time you have an opportunity to reprogram yourself for a better future. You can only change yourself, when you come right down to it. You can design your own affirmations or look up the nifty stuff available online, or visit a practitioner who does GeoTrans or related kinesiology reprogramming.

I am posting astrology books for sale on Amazon this weekend. Just a couple titles for now to be followed by small batches as I get them posted, etc. Watch for my mini reviews and the links to the listings.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 8:36 pm Thursday till next Sunday morning. The Moon makes no exact aspects Thursday night but early Friday it is conjunct Uranus. This is an emotionally turbulent aspect, with possible upsets regarding a female relative; let this pass until you can discuss things calmly (about 8:30 am things are more harmonious with a Sun-Moon sextile). You may feel constrained by duty in early evening under a Moon-Saturn opposition; when duty calls, you do tend to answer so just get 'er done. No exact aspects on Saturday so just enjoy your day.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – On Monday you may get a new burst of energy as Mars and Venus are conjunct in your sign. See notes above for more insights. You might accept a blind date for today and not regret it; relationships can strike new sparks although I don't promise anything. But this could be the start of something big, to quote the Steve Allen song. In other news, the Moon in Pisces sextiles the Taurus stellium on Wednesday; check out friends and organizations to see if they can help you with whatever personal obstacles you have.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Sun in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces in the predawn on Sunday; they are at almost one degree of their signs. Neptune at hard aspects to the Sun saps our energy and clouds our judgment. Best thing is to just relax by the pool, as Neptune is quite watery and having water nearby calms and restores us. The Sun squares Chiron Thursday evening; guard your health, wash hands, toss old leftovers, and put on the light when climbing steps. An inconjunct from your Sun to Pluto in Capricorn mid-morning Saturday gives you an opportunity to reprogram your psyche and regain control of your life.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Monday's Mars-Venus conjunction in Taurus may mean that a friend suddenly looks to have much more potential in the relationship department. It might well be worth cultivating this new dimension. The Moon in compatible Pisces makes easy sextiles to the Taurus stellium most of the day on Wednesday. Friends and organizations may figure in helping move legal and publishing issues forward.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Sunday may be frustrating or challenging depending on how you look at it; Moon in Aquarius opposes your natal planets and squares the Taurus stellium all day. You may recover your old enthusiasm for the job under the Mars-Venus conjunction in your solar tenth house of career. The Moon enters compatible Aries on Thursday night, making no aspects that day. But on Friday, an early morning sextile to the Sun in Gemini favors communications. A Moon-Saturn opposition in the evening helps you stick to a course of computer-based training.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – On Sunday morning the Sun in Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces; combined with your natal planets, this will make an uncomfortable T-square; someone may throw a snow job at you so I do not recommend shopping that day. The Venus-Mars conjunction in compatible Taurus recharges your batteries and may bring an interesting new coed on campus. Or, a dynamo of a lawyer may take your case and make quick work of it, helping you to recover money.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in compatible Aquarius as the week begins, but the squares to the Taurus stellium can may make things a bit of an exercise in frustration. The Moon in your opposite sign on Friday may make for the best day of the week. There's a challenge mid-morning to Pluto (the boss breathes down your neck) but other than that, the morning's good and with Saturn's help you can get much done all day.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Wow, Monday's Mars-Venus conjunction is in your seventh house of partners; and someone will sure be in your face and looking like the perfect match for you. Introduce yourself and get that phone number before parting, then take your time getting acquainted. Taurus will not be rushed, you know. The Moon in compatible Pisces sextiles all those Taurus planets on Wednesday, so it might be a good day for a followup date, or for playing games and sports.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Sun squares Neptune very early Sunday, sapping one's energy and possibly making conditions rainy or foggy. Not a good morn for the early jog. The Sun-Moon square on Tuesday afternoon can make an uncomfortable (OK, we will call it Challenging) T-square with your natal planets. Give yourself what a friend used to call a 'challenge piece' and see if you can get 'er done by the end of the day.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The lovely Venus-Mars conjunction occurs early Monday in your solar fifth house of romance, you lucky dog you. Pay attention when an attractive Other drifts into your line of vision. Offer to treat to lunch or dinner, something, anything. This could be the start of something big, to quote the Steve Allen song. On Friday morn, the Moon-Uranus conjunction may throw your household into a tizzy; do whatever you have to in order to set things right again.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from Sunday till early Tuesday. Mid-afternoon is filled with all these squares from the Moon to the stellium in stubborn Taurus; perhaps you get down to work in the garden at last, or you stew because the rain keeps you from doing so. The Moon-Saturn trine late Sunday finds an older guest at the dinner table. No exact Moon aspects on Monday but the Venus-Mars conjunction is in your solar fourth house; you are up to the task when household chores beckon (such as painting or redecorating) and can see them thru to completion. You might even play host to a house guest.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 8:24 am Tuesday till Thursday night. A Moon-Neptune conjunction saps your energy mid-morning Tuesday, so keep a supply of strong tea or energy bars handy. Your energy on Wednesday under a sextile to Mars is so much better. A Moon-Mercury sextile in the afternoon aids communication so schedule any interviews or sales talks for then.

Your Milky Way Horoscope May 15-21, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Both Venus and Mercury enter the sign Taurus on Sunday, May 15
; Venus at 6:12 pm and Mercury at 7:18 pm. The downside of Venus in Taurus is that the Bull so loves his comfort that he is reluctant to share his creature comforts with others. Woe to the unwary visitor who sits in his favorite chair without asking! Taurus needs to learn to share not only his possessions but his clever methods for accumulating them. And on a larger scale, the Bull can share his values and the ability to enjoy simple pleasures.

As for Mercury, the paradox is that Taurus is a very creative sign, but Mercury here tends to block creativity and get locked into a rut, looking to literal interpretations of instructions, etc. Taurus also tries too hard to figure things out himself, often doing things the hard way just because he is not afraid of hard work. But please, little Bull, bend yourself to take a leaf from the books of those who have gone before you and discovered or invented easier ways to make progress. You do not have to re-invent the wheel!

Ha, I can talk. I have Mercury in Taurus and believe me, I have been too reluctant to look around for info or study aids or whatever that would make things easier for me. Show me, the Missourian in me says.

Mercury and Venus conjoin at 0 degrees Taurus at 5:25 am Monday, moving actually in lockstep for a few days; they will then sextile Neptune about 5 hours later. Love and other feelings find expression in letters and song; music IS the language of love after all. It's a good day to enjoy the arts in general, not just music but dance and art. It also favors seeing patterns in not only data but in the various experiences of your life.

The above planets are very near Mars, and Mercury conjoins Mars first on Friday at 9:20 pm. They are at 7 degrees Taurus. A few hours earlier, Mars and Mercury at 7 degrees Taurus trined Pluto in Capricorn. Mercury conjunct Mars is forceful verbal expression, favoring debate but often getting bogged down in argument just for the sake of argument. Mental energy is high, though, and with Pluto you can easily make progress in research, slicing through irrelevant data like a knife to get to the nitty-gritty.

The Sun enters Gemini bright and early at 5:21 am Saturday, so that native Twins can pack double the fun on their birthdays. Gemini is sometimes a bit too glib, responding in superficial ways to conversation with friends and strangers alike. But some of them have developed a real gift for changing the atmosphere in a room with their lighthearted friendliness, and for drawing out others who don't normally chat a lot. You grow through interaction with others that increases your appreciation for the infinite variety of human experience.

Venus in Taurus trines Pluto at 7 degrees Capricorn at 2:04 pm Saturday. Venus is happy to give her whole heart to someone that she loves completely, right down to the cellular level. The trine makes for easier expression of those intense emotions that we usually keep locked up.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – A triple conjunction this week in Taurus, your solar second house of money and other good stuff, is not a bad arrangement. And if anyone can figure out how to harness all that energy, you can. Just a word of warning about Mars in the second; it can mean paying out too much in fees, commission, taxes, etc, so check that out ahead of time. Best days may be when the Moon is in compatible Sag, midday Tuesday till Thursday afternoon. You and your lawyer may have to sit down and tear apart your case, and put it together from the ground up. It's best to find any weaknesses in it now, before going to court. Same applies if you have a publishing project; your editor may ask for a massive rewrite, but you want it to be the best book you can possibly write, right?

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – You need to express yourself! All this emotional energy is getting focused in a triple conjunction in your sign this week, and if you don't find some outlet you could burst. Join a local glee club, take an art class at the craft shop, even gardening would all be good outlets for you. Just do SOMETHING. If you can connect with the Pluto energy in Capricorn, too, you may uncover either your deepest self, or your fondest ambition. Just go for it. The Moon in compatible Capricorn Thursday pm till Saturday night offers a chance to get lots done; Friday has tons of easy aspects plus a square to Saturn to keep your nose to the grindstone.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Happy birthday to all Geminis, who are sometimes their own twin self. Don't take that personally, I just mean that Gemini is one of the dual signs; this is one sign that would love to clone themselves so that they can be everywhere and do all the things they want to do. The Moon in the opposite sign, Sag, Tues.-Thurs. favors working with the public in some way. You have a real sense of ease when in the spotlight, and are never at a loss for words. The Moon-Saturn sextile on Wednesday helps you multi-task your way thru tons of work.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in compatible Scorpio from midday Sunday till midday Tuesday. Best day may be Monday when Mercury and Venus whisper words of love and appreciation in your ear. Lots of activity in your solar eleventh house of friends and clubs this week, due to the triple conjunction in Taurus. Possibly you will volunteer on a committee or to run a special event. And remember, this is something that looks good on a resume, too. And the Full Moon in Taurus on Tuesday puts the accent on fun, children, creative expression, sports and games. So get out there and have some fun.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Oh, this triple conjunction should shake something loose in your career sector; it's in Taurus and that is your solar tenth house of career. Perhaps meeting with an older advisor on Wednesday will turn up some new leads, or a tip from one of the kids will pan out. Whatever you do, keep things under your hat until its a done deal; I speak from experience on this. The Sun enters your solar eleventh house of friends and clubs early Saturday; this brings a good month to host any parties or take over chairing club meetings.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Things may finally gel this week inre whatever legal or publishing matters have been hung up. The triple conjunction of Taurus can bull through any obstacles in no time now. The Moon is in compatible signs for most of the week: Scorpio Sunday-mid-Tues., and Capricorn Thurs pm till early Saturday. Monday promises a lovely chat with a loved one, and Friday offers opportunities for creative expression, and playing with youngsters in the family.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The week begins with the Moon in Libra but only till midday Sunday. Your mate may suddenly be in an expansive and emotionally expressive mood midday Sunday. Give him or her a setting where he/she will feel secure enough to talk about these things. The triple conjunction in Taurus is inconjunct your natal Sun (or ascendant, as the case may be); this puts an emphasis on adjustment and on creativity. For example, you may feel uncomfortable with your living room, and by moving some pieces around you discover a more pleasing arrangement. Maybe you even decide that one corner needs something, and so you go to the craft store and find yourself a little project to fill that corner. You latch into your creative spirit and make the space work better for you. That's using creative energy of Venus (the artistic), Mars (action), and Mercury (the hands).

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 12:31 pm Sunday till midday Tuesday. The Moon-Neptune trine favors going to a matinee Sunday afternoon, or possibly the local watering hole. Avoid bringing up controversial topics at dinner Sunday, which might ignite that Moon-Mars opposition. People will dig in their heels, wedded to their opinions. Conversing with a relative may uncover an old family mystery on Monday. You can make positive changes to your health regimen on Tuesday, with a little help from Jupiter or a shrewd doctor.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 1:22 pm Tuesday till Thursday afternoon. A square to Neptune in Pisces Tuesday afternoon can cloud your judgment; or maybe the family is hiding plans for a surprise party later on--- the Moon trines Uranus (surprises) that evening. And Venus promises a lovely time had by all. Wednesday favors getting sage advice from an older person, a friend or mentor type. Thursday's Moon-Jupiter trine can prompt you to overdo again, but it does offer promise of good news regarding children and investments (stocks, etc).

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 4:16 pm Thursday till late Saturday. A relative may pull the wool over your eyes Thursday. Surprises may be in store the same day at home, tho I cannot tell if they will be good or bad. But some late-night loving is favored under Venus' rays. Getting up early Friday to work on writing or other expression should be productive. Try to get lots done at work, too, under a square to Saturn; the boss may be watching. Your solar fifth house will be very active with the triple conjunction in Taurus this week. You will enjoy your children or grandchildren, the arts, and amusements.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The triple conjunction of Venus, Mercury and Mars in Taurus this week puts a lot of bull-power into your solar fourth house of home and family. Perhaps you roll up your sleeves to paint rooms that haven't seen a brush in a decade. Perhaps you host several visitors, and that should be fun though tiring. The Moon is in Aquarius from 10:32 pm Saturday thru the weekend. A harmonious Sun-Moon trine ends the day with promise for a compromise or a successful mediation. On Wednesday, the Moon-Saturn sextile in Sag helps you gets lots done, especially if you and friends are teaming up.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The triple conjunction in Taurus this week occurs in your solar third house of communications; perhaps you receive a heartfelt letter from a relative. Perhaps a family reunion is planned, and you play a key role in that gathering. Be prepared with lots of camera film (or smart cards), video, etc to document the event. Sounds like something suitable for a scrapbook of its own. In other news, Thursday has the moon in compatible Capricorn and Uranus offering lots of laughs and Venus promising pleasant times, so go ahead with party plans for that night.

Your Milky Way Horoscope May 8-14, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Mars enters Taurus at 3:03 am Wednesday. Mars has difficulty expressing itself in Taurus; too often it turns to stubbornness. It's good for boxers, though, because they have well-developed shoulders, and have great stamina. Mars is competitiveness, and too often Mars in Taurus is competitive about one's material success; many Taureans are continually comparing their material success/possessions with others. What a really successful Taurean does is take a page from others' books, i.e. adopting techniques or strategies that have worked for others. You don't have to always do things the hard way, Taurus! Encourage others to think up ideas on how to make your current projects work. Your resources are not just your own muscles, brain, and energy; they also include all the inputs from the people around you, your co-workers, team mates, friends and counselors.

Venus and Jupiter are conjunct at 24 degrees of Aries at 10:42 am Wednesday, May 11. A great day for socializing, for being out there in the public eye, for dating or marrying, for finances (altho you may spend your gains on extravagances before you even cash the check). Wednesday will probably be a red-letter day no matter what you do.

Mercury and Jupiter are conjunct at 24 degrees of Aries at 3:57 pm Wednesday. This is like a followup to the above aspect, perhaps with a news item about someone's lucky day. BTW all these planets are trine to the North Node in late Sag, which means that this luck is tied in to progressing on a path of soul growth. If you are doing what you were meant to do in this lifetime, then you are more likely to see a wonderful turn of events.

Mars in Taurus sextiles Neptune at zero degrees Pisces at 4:28 am Thursday. This heightens Neptune's sensitivity to the plight of others, and Mars lend energy to work on their behalf. One's own ego is softened by Neptune's self-effacing quality, so you might volunteer with no thought of reward or even thanks. It's a good time to study occult matters like astrology, tarot, i ching, psychic talents, or religious philosophy. I must mention that for some people, this aspect puts one's energy level at a low ebb; often one is soothed or restored by being in or near water.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Wednesday could be your lucky day, Ari, with Venus and Jupiter conjunct in your sign in the morning, and Mercury-Jupiter conjunct in the afternoon. Try to schedule interviews or sales calls for this day. Or a wedding, if you are actively involved with a gent/lady of your dreams. Mars enters your solar second house on the same day. Mars in the second can accent a problem with debt, but it can also help you in a sales position. You may be sorely tempted to put something on the plastic, till late June when Mars passes into Gemini, but hold off on that. You can figure out some alternative to adding to debt.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Siblings may shoulder the hosting duties for Mother's Day Sunday, so enjoy being a guest that day. Mars enters your sun sign on Wednesday; see above notes about that. The Moon trines the Sun in Taurus late Thursday, favoring harmonious gatherings with the kids or meetings with the lawyer or pastor. The Moon-Saturn conjunction in your solar sixth house early Saturday favors taking up an exercise regimen, or possibly accepting a second job.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Your luck this week may come from a friend or a club that you belong to; I am referring to the Venus-Mercury-Jupiter conjunction on Wednesday. If a friend is the recipient of a piece of luck, be happy for them. Mars enters your solar twelfth house on the same day. Mars in the twelfth can mean that you shoot yourself in the foot with your temper (or with desiring more than you can actually buy/eat/pay for). Therefore make a special point of working on issues with anger; sublimate it with exercise, etc.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer as the week begins, till Monday morn. Sunday morning's Sun-Moon sextile starts off the day pleasantly, but there's nothing but squares the rest of the day. Moms and everyone will probably feel disappointed in this most sentimental of days, but I think the best option would be for Mom to just go off and do something that she would enjoy, whether it's a bubble bath, a massage, or a movie that no one else wants to go along to see. Ultimately, no one can satisfy your deepest needs except you and God.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from 5:35 am Monday till Wednesday morning. Your creative juices are stimulated by a Neptune aspect early Monday, perhaps by a lovely sunrise. At midday the Moon trines Uranus, with the sideways planet possibly tickling your funny bone with a joke from the web. The Moon enters compatible Libra midday Friday, offering creative inspiration and opportunities all through the pm. Best to get things done at home Saturday, under the Moon-Saturn conjunction.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 9:59 am Wednesday till midday Friday. Wednesday morning offers an energizing trine from the Moon to Mars in earthy Taurus; you can really put the shoulder to the wheel today. Be careful at lunch that day with that Neptune opposition; avoid alcohol, and check out an new acquaintances who seem to promise much more than anyone can deliver. Friday is a day for adjustments, possibly to insurances or joint accounts. Check those statements for errors.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 11:58 am Friday till midday next Sunday (May 15). Others may look at you Friday expecting you to be the problem-solver, the wizard. Well maybe you don't have the magic wand but you sure have a lot of skills. I am pretty sure that by the end of the workday that you will be struck by an insight (Uranus) into the solution. Saturday begins with a Moon-Saturn conjunction, which is not so dreary as it may sound. You can knock off a ton of chores, then reward yourself with a suitable treat (dinner out, a massage or bubble bath, etc).

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Mars enters your opposite sign Taurus on Wednesday morn. Mars in the seventh house helps you initiate contacts with others. It is helpful for salespeople, politicians and job-seekers. So this month, put your face in front of people and introduce yourself. You really turn on the charm with a helpful Neptune on Thursday, just don't promise more than you can deliver. Wednesday is also the day of the triple conjunction in Aries, your solar sixth house of work and health. A medical exam can come back with a clean bill of health; you may luck onto a wonderful job or be able to turn your hobby into a second income.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The triple conjunction on Wednesday in Aries is in your solar ninth house of law, college, publishing and the internet. Mercury's presence suggests either a link to publishing or the internet; it sounds like a great day to start a blog or company website. Mars enters Taurus, your solar sixth house, where it may mean that you spend some of your spare time in service to others. That may mean a second job waitressing, or it may mean volunteer work, or it may mean taking your Aunt Ethel on errands.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Mars enters your solar fifth house on Wednesday, where it energizes your interest in sports, both indoor and outdoor if you know what I mean. You may also have a renewed desire to express yourself in artistic ways; that may mean just designing a pattern for laying out new floor tiles, etc. or it could mean taking a piano class. Follow your muse. The triple conjunction in Aries, your solar tenth house of career, occurs on the same day. The fact that it squares your natal sun means that you will probably have to set things in motion if anything is going to happen in regards to career moves. Check the company job listings for anything that would be a promotion.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Tuesday night's Moon in Leo trine Aries planets favors having friends over for a late soiree. Mars enters your solar fourth house on Wednesday, where it will energize your interest in family matters, and possibly in sprucing up the house. You cannot help but assert your feelings to your nearest and dearest, too. This will deepen your family ties in the long run, so don't hold back. Tell them you love them. On Thursday, Neptune in your solar second house is assisted by Mars; be very careful about taking out loans or paying commissions; check the interest rates, etc. very carefully.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in compatible Cancer on Sunday, and in your solar fifth house of children. So that seems auspicious for a happy mother's day in your home. The squares to the Moon, though, make me think that you have to ask for everything. Don't expect everyone to be able to read your mind, you know? For example, leave out the recipe for French toast if that's what you want instead of eggs. On Wednesday, the Moon in compatible Virgo trines Mars in Taurus, giving you the oomph to get out of the chair and tackle spring cleaning or volunteer for club activities.
