Your Milky Way Horoscope March 3-9, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun is conjunct a retrograde Mercury at 7:58 am Monday, at 14 degrees of Pisces. This aspect usually brings calls or callers in pairs or threes, and with Pisces being a double sign anyway, that could double everything. With retrograde Mercury, we will possibly have to redo stuff from before the Merc retrograde station of Feb. 23. In fact this aspect may get confounded with the Venus-Jupiter square the same morning, when befuddled Pisces may promise far more than it can deliver.

Mercury and Venus trine Saturn on Wednesday and Thursday, sandwiching the Mercury-Venus conjunction at 1:54 pm Wednesday at 11 degrees Pisces. The conjunction is generally good for sales; here, with Mercury retrograde, merchants may have to knock the price down a bit to move items. The trine to Saturn favors selling used or scratch-and-dent stuff, all the way up to good antiques or blue-chip stocks.

Mercury at 8 degrees Pisces squares Jupiter in Gemini at 10:38 pm Saturday. Mercury ruling speech and Jupiter ruling bigness means we may tell the biggest fibs ever, the best fish stories, exaggerate, even proselytize (since Jove and Pisces both have an affinity for religion). Take everything you hear today with a big grain of salt, OK?

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. NOTE: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Your ruler Mars will return to its home, Aries, next week – so hang in there and soon you will feel like yourself again. Meantime, Uranus lightens your mood with some Odd News early Monday, and with a humorous or unusual friend Friday morning. Wednesday may start off with an upsetting incident that only seems funny in retrospect, so you may have to work on your retelling of the story till the funny parts stand out better.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Your ruler Venus is in lazy and squishy Pisces this month. However, Wednesday may be the best day to find a very good deal on something you have been looking for, and it may come from or thru a friend. You may also be able to sell off a few things this week that need to go to new homes. Set aside the proceeds for a rainy-day fund that needs replenishing.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Yes, we know that your ruler Mercury is still retrograde. However, this is an excellent time to find things on sale, provided that you check out the items for flaws or damage. Wednesday is most favorable for locating items you have been scouring the town for, and you might locate them thru people at work. Check the bulletin boards in the cafeteria, etc. (An offer Monday may fall through, but don't lose heart.) In other news, avoid overdoing on Saturday night, except in the area of phoning or online chatter.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – With this current stellium in Pisces this month, you are probably more active than usual in areas of education, publishing, law, or spiritual matters. Mercury retrograde in this sector may prompt you to refresh your memory on a certain topic, and you may run into someone you used to know in relation to that topic about mid-week – possibly an instructor, possibly a fellow student. Pay attention here, because the universe is trying to give you another free lesson while it can.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Your ruler the Sun is conjunct a retrograde Mercury on Monday, when you might be asked to a return engagement as an emcee or spokesperson. This conjunction is in your solar eighth house, so it might come from a bank or insurance company – a good corporate gig that doesn't require too much from you. Wednesday and Thursday influences also are positive for sales, especially if done thru a broker. So list your services or goods with an agent or via third parties such as Amazon or other similar aggregators.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 - Yes, we know that your ruler Mercury is still retrograde. However, this is an excellent time to find things on sale, provided that you check out the items for flaws or damage. Wednesday is most favorable for locating items you have been scouring the town for, and you might locate them thru people that your mate or partner knows. In other news, avoid overdoing on Saturday night, except in the area of phoning or online chatter.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Your ruler Venus is in lazy and squishy Pisces this month, altho that is favorable for creative realignments of your work space as well as your living space. You could be inspired by the example of other creative people as seen in the media. Flip through art magazines and artists' websites for for motivation to try new techniques.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The week begins with the Moon (void-of-course) in Scorpio. Your energy is good in the morning so get your exercise. Stick to routine for Sunday. Your ruler Mars is in compatible Pisces this month, although it does tempt you to be lazy and passive. On the positive side, you may find your creative energies running high so check your list of projects that have been put on the back burner, and get cracking.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 4:11 pm Sunday till Tuesday night. The Moon squaring Neptune Sunday night favors neither going to the movies nor thinking straight. Your feelings or favors are not reciprocated Monday morn, but that is no reason to blow your stack. Tuesday morn has false starts; check your specs before starting work that will have to be redone if you goof up.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 7:14 pm Tuesday till Thursday night. Cappy gets a laugh from family members before work on Wednesday, altho at the time it may not seem funny. Wednesday afternoon and evening have teaching aspects, where you may pass along your gems of hard-earned wisdom to the next gen. On Thursday, try not to let a family member get your goat, so to speak.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from 10:02 pm Thursday thru the weekend. You get together with a friend mid-morning Friday for a laugh or two. Midday shines if you have lunch with a “hale fellow, well met” type. You need to hang onto that friend's outlook at least thru the day. Watch your spending Saturday, since you could easily sabotage your budget.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Sun-Mercury conjunction Monday morning promises a very busy morning, with people coming in the door in twos or threes. Influences are gathering to a major wave of confusion or at least a difficult time hanging onto your inner compass. You could also possibly lose your way literally, since Pisces often cannot find its way out of a paper bag! Make note of where you park the car and put your keys, little things like that.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 24-March 2, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun at 7 degrees Pisces squares Jupiter in Gemini at 5:26 pm Monday. Sun square Jove can mean too much of a good thing, so don't go pigging out at the buffet or drinking yourself into a stupor.

Venus enters Pisces at 9:03 pm Monday. Venus in Pisces can have a real desire to ease the suffering of others, to the point where they may actually have healing abilities. Their gift of empathy might allow others to take advantage of them, altho some older Pisceans become hard and gruff as a result. The mature Pisces sees past rules and laws to the spiritual level of relationships, and heals disharmony accordingly. One should be careful around some super-Pisces, tho, who drag someone down into a hospital bed even if that person is healthy as a horse, in order that they may have the pleasure of saving him or her. They are much better when channeling their sensitivities into the arts. Famous people with Venus in Pisces include: Leontyne Price, Shirley MacLaine, author Victor Hugo, George Washington, Ted Kennedy, Sandra Dee, comedian Danny Kaye, Carol Burnett, Adlai Stevenson, Martin Luther King Jr., George Harrison, Sidney Poitier and Vincent Van Gogh.

Also on Monday, note there is a Full Moon at 7 degrees, 24' Virgo at 3:26 pm. With the Moon opposite Sun-Neptune, we really do need the giftie of seeing ourselves as other see us, because we haven't a clue! Further muddling things is that we do not clearly see what our real needs are at the moment. The lights also square Jupiter in Gemini (where Jupiter is weak), where we give in to excess rather than being lifted up by higher consciousness. Just be extra careful not to drink and drive.

Mercury at 19 degrees Pisces is conjunct Mars at 4:09 am Tuesday, a volatile combination that often starts arguments or fights for no good reason. And with Mercury retrograde, one may be totally off base on one's facts and have to eat one's words.

Venus is conjunct Neptune at 3 degrees Pisces at 8:37 am Thursday. Venus-Neptune combos can mean being “in love with love”, falling for a shifty type, or other illusory types of love. Fortunately, the Moon is void-of-course almost all day, so nothing will come of any of Cupid's errant arrows.

The Sun at 11 degrees Pisces trines Saturn in Scorpio at 3:31 pm Friday. Sun-Saturn trines can bring honors or recognition for one's accomplishments, but with most people it just brings a sense of satisfaction or pride in finishing a job. You have earned the right to toot your own horn in your blog, or don your Superman underwear.

NOTE: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – On Monday, Venus enters your solar twelfth house of undoing, where a misplaced sympathy is played on by people taking advantage of you. It might be best to refer people to legit non-profits who properly screen people for need. You could then elect to help screened cases in whatever way you see fit. Your ruler Mars is aggravated Tuesday by Mercury and Moon aspects; watch out for that chip on the shoulder, and avoid picking fights.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 -- On Monday, Venus enters your solar eleventh house of friends; they may decide you need saving when you are perfectly fine, thank you, so it might be best to avoid them for a month or so. Ruler Venus joins Neptune Thursday in your house of chums, repeating a theme, but it might be put to good use by volunteering some hours at a local charity. Ruler Venus exchanges favors on Friday night.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – On Monday, Venus enters your solar tenth house of career; you may receive some perks of office altho they may be less than you expected. May be extra stressed by the T-square in Monday's Full Moon; you'll be prone to excess, but be darn sure not to drink and drive this month. Ruler Mercury is prone to mouthing off a bit much on Tuesday; don't go starting pointless arguments.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – On Monday, Venus enters your solar ninth house of higher education and law, where you seek you apply your highest ideals to the real world; this could work but most likely only in limited and well defined ways. I suggest reading “Three Cups of Tea” or the sequel. You may feel extra out of sorts on Thursday, when the Moon is void almost all day; stick to routine chores. Friday afternoon is an excellent time for Cancerians to generate ideas – make notes on a pad and develop these ideas later on.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Sun is in Leo from Sunday till early Monday. You may feel like your feelings are not being returned in kind on Sunday, but then again, Leos are such gluttons for love n' attention anyway. On Monday, Venus enters your solar eighth house of pooled resources, where you may receive settlements from insurance that are less than you hoped for. Your ruler the Sun receives a favorable trine from Saturn on Friday, when older friends may mentor you or give sound advice.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – May be extra stressed by the T-square in Monday's Full Moon; you'll be prone to excess, but be darn sure not to drink and drive this month. The Sun is in Virgo from 1:52 am Monday til Wednesday morn. You awaken Monday a bit fuzzy-headed; have a second cuppa java before facing the commute. Make sure to take the lunch break Monday to avoid exhaustion by quitting time. Also on Monday, Venus enters your solar seventh house of partners, where you could easily imagine a new love will fulfill your every need without asking-- oh grow up! You could have a real chip on your shoulder Tuesday; count ten before lashing out at imaginary slights.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – On Monday, Venus enters your solar sixth house of health, where you might nurse yourself or others thru illness this month. The Sun is in Libra from 8:02 am Wednesday till midday Friday. On Wednesday night you may have to shuffle the schedule to adjust for many changes of plans. A canceled event leaves you free to explore new worlds. Your ruler Venus is conjunct Neptune Thursday morn, but try to ignore this arrow from Cupid; it is joke played on dreamers. Ruler Venus exchanges favors on Friday night.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – On Monday, Venus enters your solar fifth house of creativity; a new breath of inspiration fires up your efforts. The Moon is in Scorpio from 12:33 pm Friday thru Saturday. Friday night offers an opportunity to act on your best ideals in some constructive fashion. On Saturday morning you are determined to get your to-do list done. You can relax mid-afternoon by catching up on calls or emails to friends and grown children.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – May be extra stressed by the T-square in Monday's Full Moon; you could be prone to excess. On Monday, Venus enters your solar fourth house of home and family; you may look at your family members, crowded around your dinner table, thru a misty squint of adoration, and yet feel you have to fix everything for them. Not! You raised them so they would not need you to change their diapers anymore.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – On Monday, Venus enters your solar third house of siblings, who you imagine cannot function without your instruction and guidance – get over it! Your ruler Saturn receives a favorable Moon aspect in the legal, publishing or collegiate sector; you may make a good contact or receive a referral. On Friday afternoon, a relative or neighbor may know of an organization that needs your skills. Cheer up a friend Saturday morning.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – On Sunday, you and your mate need to feed each other's hearts. On Monday, Venus enters your solar second house of finances; you might give money away to charities or friends in need, or otherwise sabotage your budget. Also on Monday the Full Moon may activate dicey doings in finances; be sure to check your bank statements and investment returns for unexplained changes. You may feel contrary Wednesday night. On Friday your hard work at the office may earn you a personal thanks.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – You may be extra stressed by the T-square in Monday's Full Moon; you could be extra prone to excess as a means of dealing with stress but a night at the movies is usually a better escape. The Full Moon in Virgo Monday repeats the theme of reinventing oneself with a full makeover. Also on Monday, Venus enters your solar first house of self; time to get yourself over to the salon for a major trim, since you often neglect to go more than once or twice a year. Ruler Neptune is joined by Venus Thursday morning; you look at others thru a rosy glow.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 17-23, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun enters Pisces at 7:02 am Monday. Pisces like the other mutable signs has no definite nature, so that the natives of this sign take their appearance and personality from stronger planets and signs in their natal chart. However, some things can be said of them as generally true. They often have a victim-savior complex (aka martyr-messiah), playing either or both roles to perfection. They may become determined to “save” someone who does not need saving, thank you very much. However, they often are able to soothe troubled souls and animals just by being there. Pisces can be very observant without even trying. They master the art of being everyone's favorite. Famous people with Sun in Pisces include: Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Gleason, Frederic Chopin, the late senator Edward Kennedy, Tricia Nixon, Sidney Poitier, Rex Harrison, playwright Edward Albee, Beatle George Harrison, Rudolph Nureyev, both Princes Edward and Andrew of England, Pierre Renoir, and Pope Pius XII.

Saturn has its retrograde station at 12:03 pm Monday, at 11 degrees, 32' of Scorpio. Saturn will be retrograde until after the Independence Day holiday. Dane Rudhyar felt that Saturn stations gave one the opportunity to exercise the will, establish boundaries, study moral teachings, and learn from old patterns or traditions. As Rudhyar states, “The king makes the new laws, but the old laws make the king.” So law tends to perpetuate itself even when new laws replace old commandments. Dane also went on about how one's name is synonymous with the Will, but I differ with him on that. (I think that the name is the Sun, and the Will is Saturn.)
Another astrologer – and I apologize for not having notes on where this is from – says that during the Saturn retrograde, we may be forced to restructure payment schedules or any other schedules, organizations, programs, procedures, and so forth. Retrograde periods are good for completing something left undone. You may be forced to learn hard lessons either on taking responsibility or on not taking on duties that do not belong to you.

The Sun at 2 degrees Pisces is conjunct Neptune at 2:19 am Thursday. Here we go again, Pisces is spacey enough without a Neptune conjunction, y'know? I am trying to be light-hearted about this, but the fact is that some of us may be hard-pressed to keep ourselves in the moment and firmly connected to reality and our to-do list. If we need a break or a nap, fine, take your break or the nap. Take care of yourself, then make a list of what you need to do and when you need to do it – go from there.

Mercury at almost 20 degrees Pisces has a retrograde station at 4:41 am Saturday. Well! Mercury in Pisces is spacey anyway, and toss in a retrograde and you have trouble, my friends! Oh, I am trying to take these Mercury retrogrades lightly, since they happen so often and actually, you can get them to work for you in some ways. Like, clean out that drawer or closet and find buried treasure! Or “do over” some project and do it right this time. We have to check up on our assumptions, which may be totally off-base from reality, find the errors in our math or in the bank statement, use a different formula, find an old book that is truly amazing, find out new info (some of which we were not supposed to find out, tee hee).

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 10-16, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Mars at 6 degrees Pisces squares Jupiter in Gemini at 3:12 am Sunday. Mars-Jupiter squares are good for athletic events because the athletes reach down deep for their best effort – the emphasis is on Effort, which is one keyword for the square. In other areas, the square denotes risk-taking, as in gambling or in any other endeavor. You may be on quite a roll – at least until that one bad bet.

Venus at 11 degrees Aquarius squares Saturn in Scorpio at 1:42 am Monday. Venus square Saturn could be either “good” or “bad”, depending on your point of view and level of maturity. It can mean settling down with one's life partner in marriage. It could mean breaking off a relationship if one feels too confined in it. Since Venus also rules money, there may be financial pressures or burdens.

Mercury at 11 degrees Pisces trines Saturn in Scorpio at 2:15 pm Tuesday. Saturn rules science and Mercury rules logic, so a good Mercury-Saturn aspect can denote scientific thinking. You are ready to sit down and crunch those numbers, test your hypothesis, take a random sample, etc. Since Saturn also rules older people, you may have a productive chat (Mercury) with an older person, professor, or mentor.

Mars at 11 degrees Pisces trines Saturn in Scorpio at 11:14 am Saturday. Mars and Saturn both have something to do with the military or police forces, with getting organized, logistics, etc. Together they may denote planning of an assault force or SWAT team or other military or para-military group. For the rest of us, we may have success at keeping to our New Year's resolution, or making a new one to lose weight, for example, and stick to it.

We have a New Moon at 2:20 am Sunday, Feb. 10, at 21 degrees 43' of Aquarius. The Moon precedes the conjunction with the Sun (New Moon) with a square to Saturn in Libra, and follows the New Moon with a conjunction to Neptune in Pisces – both hard aspects to malefic planets. So we are forced to deduce this will be a hard and difficult New Moon, with some illness or suffering (Neptune) in the news. Let's hope that the current influenza strain does not get out of control. BTW it is also the Chinese New Year of the Snake.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – You may engage in risky driving Sunday morning, but it is much wiser to let the other guy get the speeding ticket. The Moon is in Aries from 8:51 pm Tuesday till Friday morn. Emotional upsets can mar the Wednesday morning commute; possibly some doofus cuts you off, but don't let him steal your composure. You will be swamped with customers and calls that morning. Thursday night favors having friends over after dinner, or attending that club meeting. A hot-headed decision to teach someone a lesson Saturday may boomerang onto you.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Early Monday, a friend double-dares you into doing something. A secret may come out Wednesday morning that you would rather remained secret.
