Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 31-Feb. 6, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers: I am writing a separate column for Valentine's Day which I am posting well ahead of this romantic date, so that all of you may try to make the most favorable plans for your day with your Significant Other.

Meanwhile, the first week of February features a Saturn square Pluto on Sunday, a Jupiter inconjunct Saturn on Friday, a Mercury sextile Uranus on Saturday morn and a Jupiter sextile Pluto on Saturday night. Capricorns are the focus of the week's transits.
Saturn in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn at 4 degrees 21 minutes at 4:27 pm Sunday. This sounds rather grim, rather like the forest fire that consumes the stumps of the cut trees.

Jupiter at about 4 degrees 13 minutes of Pisces is 150 degrees from Saturn in Libra at 3:14 am Friday. Please note that Pluto is at 4 degrees of Capricorn also, square to Saturn. STAY OUT of dangerous parts of town! Take stock of whatever in your life is just not working, and either toss it out or seek counseling on how to get a new mindset. If affecting financial houses, you may have to tighten your belt another notch or two, sorry about that.

At 3 am Saturday morn, Mercury in Capricorn happily sextiles compatible Uranus in Pisces at 24 degrees. This aspect favors probing one's own psychological depths, gaining insights or new info from your inner self or from study/research online or wherever, writing, speaking and other forms of communication (including ESP), listening to new ideas/concepts, and ALSO buying electronic or electrical products (up to and including cars). You may meet some very unusual people under this transit, too, so strike up chance conversations wherever you are because you could learn some very interesting stuff.

And on Saturday night, Jupiter sextiles Pluto at 12:51 pm. Jupiter excels at leadership and Pluto is heavily into power. So ambitious persons might make contact with those in the power structure of whatever (corporation, politics, media, a local club or Chamber of Commerce). Remember, use powers only for good. May express itself as a time of personal recharging, regeneration, or transformation in your life (note which house in your chart is affected). If you and your spouse are trying to conceive, this bit of luck can help you reach that happy event, if it is in relevant houses of your natal chart or synastry chart.

Remember when I mentioned in my column that you should watch what happens to the stock market after the Jan. 5 Mercury-Venus conjunction? Well here it is, in a Jan. 22 news article from MSNBC on how the Dow Jones has had “its fourth big drop in five trading days” that Friday. “The Dow lost 4.1 percent this week, its worst week since it hit a 12-year low in March. It had reached its highest level since Oct. 1, 2008, only this past Tuesday, closing at 10,725.43.” See, when I said that the conjunction marked a significant point in the Venus cycle, I was not kiddin' ya. Venus is selling right now, trying to recoup some of her paper losses while she can. She will not be shopping, filling her market bag, for several months. So I am sorry to say that from the looks of this move, there will not be a continuation of the economic recovery that we have hoped and prayed for. Recovery will not be so easy or move in a straight upward line. Mercury and Venus will not join up again till Oct. 25.

Dear Readers:
With the recent Supreme Court decision to allow corporations to usurp funding and controlling rights over American elections, we have just lost our sovereignty rights as Americans.
All attempts at keeping clean elections, and at campaign reform, have just been thrown in the ditch. This Supreme Court decision must be overturned, and failing that, the Supreme Court must be held accountable in whatever way necessary. If not, we may truly see "Manchurian Candidates" in American elections. I urge all of you to go check out AlterNet, The Pen, and for more on how to protest effectively. AlterNet has a good article at -- Thank you.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The week's aspects to Capricorn this week will affect your solar tenth house of career and reputation. Guard your honor with extreme jealousy and refuse any hint of an illegal or scandalous offer, because things could come crashing down with alacrity. Make sure your licenses and other credentials are up to date. Friday or Saturday can bring happy news due to the Mercury-Uranus sextile affecting your solar tenth house. Perhaps an unknown person passes along good word-of-mouth about you to a future customer. Wednesday evening is best for dinner or other get-togethers with friends, under the rays of a Moon-Venus trine.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Publishing or legal issues can get a green light by the weekend, under the rays of the Mercury-Uranus sextile. You could also meet unusual people or have a long-distance ESP experience, so take careful note of the time if you receive any strong impressions. On Saturday Jupiter in your solar eleventh house sextiles Pluto in your ninth; you might enjoy going with friends to some mind-expanding seminar, lecture or exhibit at a local college campus.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon in Virgo from Sunday through early Tuesday is comfortable as another Mercury-ruled sign, although you will likely spend much of the time devising adjustments or work-arounds so co-workers can get things done. Moon in air-sign Libra from Tuesday through Thursday morn is a bit less stressful. You might be saddled with some responsibility under the Moon-Saturn conjunction Tuesday afternoon, but it is time your talents were rewarded in some way. Wednesday night has fine trines from the Moon to the Sun in the morn, and then Venus in the evening; have a woman friend over for dinner or a romantic tete a tete.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Sunday's Saturn-Pluto square in conflict with your natal planets may have you thinking it is the gosh darn end of the world. Career and home/family life conflict with each other and you wish you could be in both places at once. Such is life, and we all have similar times when we wish we could clone ourselves in order to meet everyone's needs (including our own). Some good news is in sight with Saturday's Mercury-Uranus sextile affecting your solar ninth and seventh houses (law-publishing-college-religion and your spouse or other partner). Getting centered in your spiritual core will help you weather the storms now or anytime.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon's sextile to Mars in Leo on Tuesday night promises a exciting time with friends especially if going to a sporting event. (That afternoon you would not have thought you wanted to go anywhere in a gloomy-looking town, so take note that things can look very different a few hours later.) Your S.O. may never look lovelier than he/she does on your Wednesday dinner date, under the rays of a Moon trine to Venus in Aquarius. Be sure to tell her so.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon enters Virgo at 8:23 am Sunday and stays till Tuesday morn. The Moon opposes Jupiter about 1 pm Sunday; you may feel incredibly intense emotions, and can benefit from an emergency meditation session, hard exercise, or just watching a really good, engrossing movie. NOT a good day to visit casinos and the like, because you are much more likely to wipe out than to break the bank. Monday features a trine to ruler Mercury, when you will be more comfortable with talking things out or relaxing playing games. Visit a local attraction with your S.O. on Saturday, on impulse, and it can help rekindle a sense of fun in your relationship.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 -The Moon is in Libra from 8:42 am Tuesday till midday Thursday. A Moon inconjunct Jupiter on Tuesday afternoon may have you wondering if a counselor, lawyer or other professional really knows what he is doing. Tap into your own inner guidance for once. Consult a scientist or older person for some wisdom. Your energy is high that evening so go dancing or engage in challenging exercise. Wednesday has nice trines from the Moon to the Sun and then Venus; hang out with air-sign friends or children and have fun. A square to Mercury that night could cause a mis-communication with a family member so get your signals straight ahead of time.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 11:56 am Thursday till Saturday night about 7pm. Thursday has a splendid Moon-Jupiter trine in the evening; in your solar fifth house it favors fun gambling or just taking the kids to the zoo. On Friday you may be in too much of a hurry in the early am and have to backtrack. A Friday dinner date may not come off or be marred by conflict; a Saturday breakfast date is much better for conversation and laughs.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Late Monday's Moon-Uranus opposition will stress your natal planets; home and career will seem incompatible and you may have to break a family engagement. On Tuesday the Moon-Saturn conjunction in your solar fourth house of home an family can make the home seem like too, too dreary a place to be. Possibly a travelogue on DVD will help you snap out of it. The Moon enters Sag about 7 pm Saturday, just in time for a dinner with your friend who just arrived home from a fabulous trip and wants to tell you all about it. Bring the wine.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Capricorn is going to be duly stressed or delighted by the transits this week. Sunday's square from Saturn to Pluto in your sign will have you wishing you could just give the coup de grace to a drawn-out situation. Perhaps you agree to divorce, or resign from a job, or a death in the family has you pondering the unanswerable questions that have plagued the philosophers. Mercury in your sign sextiles Uranus early Saturday; this is great for shopping for electronics, and for unusual means of communication. Perhaps you may even have your first experience with ESP.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Venus in your sign gets a workout this week. You may have your doubts about your romantic Other midday Monday; maybe he/she does something you would never expect, or it is just your feelings that are wavering, not the relationship. Everything is just fine on a romantic dinner date on Wednesday. Then Saturday morning may feature a minor quarrel but it is a lot of fun making up; trust me, you will be laughing together again an hour later. Love you, A.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 - You may be feeling really expansive Sunday when the Moon opposes Jupiter in your sign, but please don't ruin the budget for all of February. Your creativity is high on Tuesday afternoon, when you experiment with moving furniture or office procedures, or in counseling clients on how they may deal with their situation. Your best day is Thursday evening when the Moon in Scorpio trine your Jupiter, and sextiles Pluto in Capricorn in your solar eleventh house. You may rise to an officer position with a local club or charity, which could possibly even gain you some national press notices. Congrats!

Astrology for a Loving Valentine's Day in 2010

by Milky Way Maid

This year, Valentine's Day features a very romantic Moon-Venus conjunction in dreamy Pisces, with Jupiter very close by. The Moon-Venus conjunction is exact at 2:56 pm central time, according to my software. Jupiter tempts all of you to spend a great deal more than you can really afford, so be cautious in planning this event. Really, cheese and a bottle of wine on a living-room picnic blanket is just as romantic as a very expensive splurge at a four-star restaurant. Find some romantic film on DVD and you are all set.

The Moon-Venus conjunction is inconjunct Mars in Leo on one side, and Saturn in Libra on the other side. This forms a Yod. Those who are unattached may walk out somewhere and meet someone who is just fated to meet them. Don't fight it, love can happen in one glance, at first sight, and last till the day you die. It does happen like that sometimes. Mars is sexy, and Saturn is well, restrained. The inconjuncts mean that one has to control feelings of jealousy and anger, refrain from critical comments, deal with emotional insecurity and tight budgets, deal with the seesaw of love-hate emotions, and most of all balance their ambitions with their human need to connect with a genuine human being. Be very tender and gentle with each other this day if you are to navigate all the shoals in this emotional sea.

The Sun is conjunct wishful Neptune at 26 degrees Aquarius that day. This is one reason I suggest the movie night. Neptune is wishing and hoping that all the bad news would just go away, and I guess for one night you can just push the headlines out of sight. But PLEASE do not load up the credit card with charges just for this one occasion because you cannot count on the economy improving in the immediate future.

Most directly affected by the Yod are the signs Pisces, Leo and Libra. Those with Scorpio ascendants will have the point of the Yod in their romantic fifth house. Those with Virgo ascendants will have the point of the Yod in their seventh house of partners. But anyone with any of those signs on their ascendant, midheaven, or fifth or seventh houses will likely feel the fated effect of this Yod. And I am not saying that it will necessarily be a fun or be an obviously romantic first meeting, a' la Hollywood films. You will have to overcome a lot of emotional obstacles in order to connect on the soul level, but it will be worth it.

Aries: Aries, like all the cardinal signs, are very stressed right now. I am sure they wish they could afford to splurge more on this occasion. That's all right, it is better to figure out what to do this evening on the spur of the moment. Maybe there is a sliver of a New Moon showing, and you can drive out somewhere in the country to get a better view of the crescent with Venus and Jupiter nearby. That's very romantic. Mars is in Aries' fifth house so he is either interested in something athletic or something very sexy.

Taurus: Taurus has practical earth sign Virgo in its fifth house. A homemade dinner is probably your best bet, since Taurus is generally a very good cook. Second choice is a dinner at some restaurant with a brick oven, a natural foods menu, or pristine white tablecloths. The place should also have soft music, possibly played by a classical trio or quartet. Words are just as important as good food here. Taurus rules music, so reciting the lyrics of meaningful songs can be a very romantic turn-on for him or her. Alternatively, a concert or dancing may substitute or supplement the night out.

Gemini: Geez, Gemmy, having Saturn in your fifth house sure sounds like a drag. Well, how can we turn that into a plus? Wandering through antique shops would fit the bill, and can be quite romantic, too. Especially if you luck onto a nice settee for two, or a tin print of a loving couple. Saturn can also be satisfied by sticking to the classics, such as by attending a symphony concert or a ballet dress rehearsal. Roaming through the local art museum can be fun, too.

Cancer: Cancerians are very stressed right now, as are all the cardinal signs. Please go out of your way to treat them to something they really enjoy. You may spend the evening at home, where they are most comfortable, or at a fave local restaurant (a seafood place?) that is very homey, with white tablecloths and generous portions. Cuddling on a couch afterwards in front of a romantic movie with candles is just about a foregone conclusion. Cuddling is important, holding hands is important. Feeling cherished is important. Being able to reminisce over the time that you first met, helps.

Leo: Leo loves to make a splash and a big occasion like Valentine's Day is no exception. He may buy you the biggest bottle of perfume rather than the most expensive, but it is the thought that counts. And certainly he will take you to the best restaurant in town, and splurge on the lobster or some other extravagance. Don't complain about the cost; don't look at the prices or you might faint. DO NOT spoil his fun by complaining about the expense! Do wear your nicest outfit and some discreet diamonds, and just have fun enjoying the evening. You are worth every penny to him, so live up to his high regard for you.

Virgo: Now Virgo, on the other hand, does not believe in ostentation. A healthy dinner at home is probably their first choice. He or she may even wish to spend part of the evening in a service capacity at a nursing home or shelter. Fine, humor him/her. Then go out for dancing or a swim or reading romantic poetry to each other. Yum. “Drink to me only with thine eyes, and I will pledge with mine,” and so forth. Words are their first aphrodisiac, so fill up. Virgoes have Pluto in their fifth house, which lends itself to discussions of how the human race will continue to evolve on the ascending spiral (see Hawthorne for that theme).

Libra: Libra may be the most depressed and stressed sign in the zodiac right now, so be gentle with him or her. A few flowers will help, even if they are not roses. A single perfect orchid can be the perfect gift right now. Quantity in anything is less preferred than perfection in the one single orchid or dinner or bottle of wine. If you can swing going somewhere that has perfect sunsets, then go. By all means, go. Tell him or her that he/she is like the gold that is being tempered by fire, and becoming ever more perfect and pure. Libra has Mercury and the Sun-Neptune conjunction in their fifth house, lending itself to conversation and also to watching romantic movies.

Scorpio: Scorpio has the Moon-Venus-Jupiter stellium in its fifth house. Wow, what an embarrassment of riches. You may go to a casino night and win big, or just enjoy your family together. It is very, very lucky so make a stop to pick out a lottery ticket or something. Venus rules music and gems as well as love, so if you are ready to pop the question and present an engagement ring, there is no better time to do so. Go all out, Scorpio, because you never, ever do things by halves.

Sagittarius: Early Sag natives will have the Moon-Venus-Jupiter stellium in their solar fourth house of home, so home in front of the fireplace is definitely the place for them on this occasion. They love stoking the fire, or cooking over a grill. Even toasting a few marshmallows will fill the need for a flame somewhere. Have lots of candles lit at the dinner table. If you are in a warm clime, sitting out on a patio with a glowing Mexican clay stove for warmth can be very romantic, too.

Capricorn: Capricorn is under a great deal of stress right now and may believe that they are better off alone. Silly boy! It can be hard to get under Cappy's shell but they can be pure mush inside. Soften them up with gentle touches, recognize their moods and feelings, and they may be eating out of your hands, well not quickly, but eventually. Stick up for love, because they are too prone to get hard and cynical about it in this crazy mixed-up, pragmatic world. Do not admit to ever being on unemployment, and account for periods when you did not work with projects like writing a book or volunteering for the Peace Corps. Respect family, especially family history, so be up on your own family tree; entertain him with stories about great-great-grandpa who came to this country in steerage and started a business.

Aquarius: Aquarians have gotten this image that they are so completely cerebral, but this is not true. OK, they may not get all moon-eyed over romantic stuff, but that does not mean they are not sentimental. Give him or her the goopiest card you can find, NOT the joke card or the funny card. Trust me on this. Buy him or her some candy, and as you hand it over, say “Sweets for the sweet.” Corny, yes, but they will be pleased.

Pisces: Pisces does not care how much you spend on special occasions like Valentine's Day or birthdays, but she sure does want you to care enough to make that day special. Even if you can only afford to have a picnic, or go to that old hot dog stand you frequented when you first dated, it will mean so much to her that you remembered the day. Buy a card, and maybe a single flower if you cannot afford a bouquet of roses, and tell her you wish you could give her a hundred more. Watch out for the fact that Jupiter in Pisces will make her prone to overspend; good for movie night, tho, so find a nice romantic flick.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 24-30, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury at 11 degrees Capricorn is inconjunct Mars in Leo at 8:40 pm Monday. Another in a series of adjustments will need to be made. People or entities turn out to be better (or worse) than you thought, so maybe your criteria or analysis methods will need tweaking. You may feel locked into defending your methods but give others a fair hearing, then decide. Let the pragmatic Capricorn have the upper hand this day.

Venus at 10 degrees Aquarius opposes Mars in Leo at 12:29 am Wednesday, Jan. 27. This aspect can make it too easy to use others as verbal punching bags; keep to the rules when fighting with your partner and then it is so much more fun to make up. Find constructive ways to blow off steam, then come back and figure how to broker a treaty or truce or something. Compromise is not equivalent to giving in; compromise is helping each other get what he/she wants without sacrificing everything you want.

The Sun opposes Mars in Leo at 2:43 pm Friday. This is great for making a super athletic effort but is just an argument waiting to happen otherwise. It's good for debate, also, but please fight by the rules. Can be frustrating because the message of this aspect is that your desires may not be in harmony with what is best for your self-development. In other words, sometimes the best thing for you to do is wait and see if a better opportunity comes along; and frankly, most times a MUCH better opportunity comes along, sometimes within weeks.

A Full Moon in Leo occurs at 1:18 am Saturday with the Sun at 10 degrees Aquarius. Actually the Moon opposes the Sun first, then Venus; physical and emotional energies ebb and flow and you will need to be sensitive to your own rhythms. Push yourself to get the job done when your energy is high, and avoid trying to possess a loved one. Be content if alone or together.
Darn it, I see a lot of frustration for many signs this week, sorry about that. You will have to roll with the punches and have a Plan B on hand.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – I know you hate hearing the word 'no', Aries my dear. But these oppositions are not making life easy for anyone this week, and they may take out their frustrations on you and others just because they can. So rather, ask your bosses or coworkers or spouse what big job they wish to make disappear, and then go do it. You love a challenge, and they will just love you for your energy and initiative. Mars in your solar fifth house is challenged by the Sun and Venus opposite, but you can turn your energy to helping a local charity meet its goals.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus, the sign of its exaltation, from week's start till early Monday, Jan. 25. The Moon sextiles Uranus at 7:25 pm Sunday, a good time for sitting down to a comedy or learning a foreign language. A square to Neptune follows, so be very careful what you eat and drink; make sure foods are well cooked. Your ruler Venus opposes Mars at 12:29 am Wednesday. This aspect can make it too easy to use others as verbal punching bags; keep to the rules when fighting with your partner and then it is so much more fun to make up.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 6:11 am Monday till Wednesday morn. Monday is an excellent day! A square to Jupiter about 9 am makes you feel positively ebullient; be big enough to overlook minor imperfections in others. A trine to Saturn about 2 pm helps you plow thru boring tasks; it's also good for researching or seeking advice from mentors. A trine to Venus makes a date very romantic. Wednesday has mixed aspects but even the square to Uranus can surprise you with discoveries and bring new, exciting people into your life. An interesting dream hits you overnight so take notes.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer from 9 am Wednesday till Friday morn. Midday Wednesday kicks off with a super Moon trine Jupiter, newly hosted by Pisces in your solar ninth house. You could be invigorated intellectually by a seminar or lecture. Feed your hunger for learning. A square to Saturn in the afternoon means you get down, and are prone to wallowing in self-pity. It is just a passing mood, and things will be back to normal in the morning. Thursday: 'words of love' is the theme for the morning at least. Three little words can change everything. A trine to Uranus in the late evening favors sitting down to a comedy and forgetting the cares of the day.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from 9:10 am Friday till the following Sunday. The Leo Moon sextiles Saturn Friday afternoon; you can tackle tasks with great efficiency and accuracy now, and you are also able to assess your personal situation without emotional bias. A conjunction with Mars overnight makes for intense passions. Saturday sees a Moon opposite Sun and then Venus in the morn; physical and emotional energies ebb and flow and you will need to be sensitive to your own rhythms. Push yourself to get the job done when your energy is high, and avoid trying to possess a loved one. Be content if alone or together. Late morning is good for making adjustments in communications or electronic equipment, but practice safety precautions as usual.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Monday is just one of those days, Virgo, so while matters may be focused on your career, you may have to bow to expediency to get things finalized. Run contracts by one of your adult children for an honest assessment. I see you working very late on Tuesday so don't schedule a night out with hubby for that day; it will just be a broken date and everyone gets frustrated. Virgos may be disappointed if scheduled dates with friends or clubs fall through on Wednesday; it's that Moon square Saturn again. Thursday is far better even though you may have to improvise a bit; a partner may know of a meeting room that's available.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Sunday morning presents an opportunity to spend time with elders or mentors, so suggest a brunch date. Monday you turn your cute nose to the grindstone willingly and get loads done. Late Monday has an opportunity to do some constructive debate or friendly argument (what you will), whether it is in a formal environ or just on some barstool (gee, those barroom philosophers can get pretty deep). You might be called to mediate a sparring couple on late Tuesday so do whatever you are willing to do.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon in Cancer trines Jupiter newly arrived in Pisces about midday Wednesday. With your natal planets added to this watery mix, you could easily venture into deeper philosophical waters or express yourself more poignantly in art and music. The Moon trines Uranus in Pisces late Thursday, making a grand trine in water with your natal planets. Could be an emotional time, or it could be a very enjoyable evening watching movies or sharing girl talk with old friends.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Your best days this week are when the Moon is in Gemini (Mon.-early Wed.). While Geminis may have highs and lows, to you there are only highs and higher highs. Chat with an older friend Monday for a spoonful of good advice; you need it. You may also take on some responsibilities with a club or social service organization. A square to Uranus in Pisces on late Tuesday has you in stitches or putting everyone else in stitches. Also unusual people or foreigners may visit your home this week.

- Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – On Wednesday you may butt heads with your spouse again, possibly over something as trivial as the remote or as large as whether you will let him or her take a trip alone. A relationship without trust is not much of a relationship, but do let your partner go as long as they check in by phone on a regular basis. I think that's fair. Things go more harmoniously late Thursday, as the Moon trines Uranus in the sector of local jaunts, and you can laugh together again at your favorite local restaurant.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Wednesday has a Neptune-y tone as the Moon trines that planet in your sign; maybe it is a foggy day or you experience deja vu, but at any rate the veil may slip a little bit. Early Thursday, you finally strike up a chance conversation and may have to readjust your feelings about someone you had not thought was particularly attractive or just not a suitable match for you. Boy, you could sure be wrong about that person; he/she may turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to you.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – A square to Uranus on Tuesday night will either have you in stitches over a comedy, or a light bulb goes on when you are online as you make a great, useful discovery. The Moon trines Uranus in your sign on Thursday late-night; call up a best girlfriend for dishing and laughs. On Saturday you redefine your idea of fun, or meet some really, really unusual people. Hey, Jupiter entered your sign on the 18th, so have a fabulous and spiritual year.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 17-23, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

The Moon-Jupiter conjunction happens at 1:22 am Monday in Pisces; this poses a huge opportunity for both mutable signs (Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, Sag) but also the water signs Pisces, Scorpio, and Cancer. You will all feel more optimistic and have more courage to move forward. Those with sextiles and trines to this conjunction will have to make more of an effort to take advantage of it, and those with squares will be forced to change or languish in the wake of an onrushing present.

Venus enters Aquarius on Monday at 9:35 am; the Sun follows suit on Tuesday at 11:28 pm. Venus in Aquarius can mean objective understanding and acceptance; it can also mean that one refuses to establish personal relationships because you either believe in universal love or because you just are unable to relate to anyone on a personal level. This Venus is best placed here for those who are in fields such as teaching or public speaking, where you can share your gifts without becoming personally involved with your audience. It does help foster relationships between equals.

Sun in Aquarius: theme song is “I Gotta Be Me.” Aquarius is probably best as a friend and supportive sibling, although they are capable of being committed and sentimental spouses. They can also drive others nuts with their contrariness, which is just another expression of their need to be different. But they have a gift for honoring the uniqueness of others, whether they are their children, siblings or colleagues at work. They can get groups to work together harmoniously without trying to dominate the situation.

Jupiter enters Pisces at 9:10 pm Sunday, Dec. 17. Jupiter is exalted in this sign, but don't let that swell your head, Pisces. A weak personality can be lost in a state of helpless stagnation, wondering why society is so far from the visionary glory of a Utopia. But if you can enjoy your life moment to moment and co-create your reality with the help of your God or the mysterious Universe, then you can have that vision constantly created at every moment. Helping others to realize their potential gives you true joy. Trust in the Universe and its laws, and you can reap a life full of intrinsically rewarding activities.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 1:36 pm Wednesday till Friday night. Wednesday goes great under a sextile from the Moon to Sun and Venus in your solar eleventh house. You work well with friends, and enjoy a get-together that evening or a club meeting or other group event. You may feel frustrated by the end of the night due to a Moon-Pluto square; you feel your input is not heard or that the group has made a poor decision. Thursday starts off with a communications misstep but the rest of the day is quite favorable, as the Moon trines Mars and energy is high. An after-work swim in a heated pool looks awfully tempting on Friday.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 11:39 pm Friday thru the weekend. The Moon squares Sun in Aquarius early Saturday, which may be an unfortunate way to kick off the weekend. But get things off your chest and clear the air; it will make the rest of the weekend a million times better. An inconjunct to Saturn about 8 am makes you wonder if the experts know what they are doing (the answer of course is no). But that can be profitable for you if you bet against the established wisdom. A trine to Mercury about 5 pm helps you study for exams, or deal with legal or publishing matters; you could find an agent to make something happen for you. About ten pm, a square to Mars in Leo presents conflict but also opportunity; speak your opinions but do not bait the lion.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon-Jupiter conjunction happens at 1:22 am Monday; this poses a huge opportunity for you if you have plans for the day. You will feel more optimistic than you have felt in years, and ready to move forward in every way. Jupiter's entry into your solar tenth house of career is a great boon for all Twins. Step up career efforts such as marketing yourself to your target; but heck, Jupiter just might help you luck onto your market in spite of yourself. You may rise to a position of greater responsibility than you thought possible.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Aries, your career house, from Wed.-Fri. A trine from the Moon to Mars in your money house occurs about 3 pm Thursday; you may earn or receive your bonuses or overtime, or even get promoted into a better-paying position. The Venus trine to Saturn affects your fourth house of home and family; perhaps you luck onto some antiques at a steal of a price to decorate your home with, possibly a member of your household gets a lucky break. Actually the whole week should be quite comfortable for you, since all the signs the Moon occupies are harmonious to yours. Jupiter's entry into Pisces is a great boon to you in 2010; its occupation of your solar ninth house promises rewards for those going back to school or entering the teaching profession.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Jupiter enters your solar eighth house this week. Jupiter here may provide some relief if you have suffered from lack of health insurance, from non-payment by the insurance provider, or from inability to get coverage. You may also benefit from a legacy left in a will, altho I would not hold my breath till your loaded great-aunt Aggie keels over. This house may also rule loans such as that on a home, so you could possibly re-finance at a lower rate or get some kind of easier payment plan under the Obama bill.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Jupiter's entry into your opposite sign this week bodes well for those planning to make public appearances or take a more high-profile professional level. It can also portend a marriage to a very high-profile personality, possibly someone in the public eye or in the medical or legal profession. The Sun and Venus enter Aquarius, your solar sixth house of health and avocation. A hobby (sixth house) may become a second source of income (Venus). Your health can take an upward swing, if you have been taking care of yourself and eating sensibly.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Sun and Venus enter Aquarius, your solar fifth house, this week. Children and the creative arts cheer you and provide healthy outlets for your need for beauty and love. Venus in Aquarius trines Saturn in Libra about 1 am Friday. Either Thursday or Friday favor discussion of where your romance is heading (toward a serious commitment or towards a breakup). A sense of duty may accompany the discussion. The Moon in your opposite sign Aries (Wed.-Fri.) may be uncomfortable for you, and the rest of the week force you into making adjustments.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Sun and Venus enter your solar fourth house of home and family. Beautifying your home becomes a priority now, tho I am not sure if it is just an attempt to fight off the winter doldrums. You might bring flowers home from the grocery store, and play DVDs of romances. Jupiter enters your solar fifth house of love and creativity and sports. Betting on sports events may pan out better than the stock market. You may suddenly have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to prospective mates or beaux, and they will be very attractive and accomplished people.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - The Moon-Jupiter conjunction happens at 1:22 am Monday; this poses a huge opportunity for you if you have plans for the day. You will feel more optimistic than you have felt in years, and ready to move forward in every way. The Sun and Venus enter your solar third house of siblings and communications; you may find it easier to express affection and warm regards for your siblings and other relatives. Also you may find some way of using the internet or plain old signage to send love out into the world; lord knows we all need it. Jupiter's entry into your solar fourth house of home and family promises rewarding relationships with the whole extended clan. You may start or add to your own family; you may even work on tracing your family history.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Your life is changing radically, Capricorn, as the effects of the solar eclipse on Jan. 15 takes hold. Please see special column on the eclipse. Jupiter passes out of your solar second house, where it has been protecting your money and other resources, and into the third house where your expertise in the information age may have you teaching, lecturing, or going back to school. Meanwhile the other benefic, Venus (along with the Sun) enters your solar second house. You may favor a special someone with a gift. Also a special female friend may help you to feel better about your own self-worth.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Sun and Venus enter your sign early this week. You will look and feel younger, even if the calendar says you are a year older. A trip to the salon (Venus) for a fresh look will lift your spirits and garner compliments (also Venus). You may find it easier to express love and affection toward your inner circle this month. Venus in Aquarius trines Saturn in Libra about 1 am Friday. Either Thursday or Friday favor discussion of where your romance is heading (toward a serious commitment or towards a breakup). A sense of duty may accompany the discussion. Perhaps being 'just friends' is not so bad, after all. On the other hand, marrying your best friend is a very smart move.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 1:17 am Monday till midday Wednesday. Wow, both the Moon and Jupiter enter Pisces within hours of each other (Sun. night and Mon. morn). That is a pretty powerful and optimistic conjunction and it will be interesting to see if things change for you literally overnight. A sextile from the Moon to Pluto the same morn also helps you take charge of your own life. Towards midday, it's a bit more challenging; a Moon-Saturn inconjunct makes you wonder whether the experts really know what they are doing. A Moon-Mercury sextile in the afternoon may bring a call or email from a woman you have not heard from in a while. Tuesday brings a Moon-Mars inconjunct when men and women need to make more of an effort to accommodate each other. A psychic dream may appear overnight when the Moon is conjunct Uranus.

January 15, 2010 A Very Eventful Day in Astrology: Mercury Direct and a Solar Eclipse with Venus

by Milky Way Maid

I had to send out this bulletin because I hardly touched on the Annular Solar Eclipse of Jan. 15 in my regular weekly column. This will serve as the “What Will 2010 Bring to You?” article that I promised at the end of 2009. Not only does it kick off the first month of the new year and new decade, the eclipse is conjunct Venus, and the day also sees Mercury go direct. Talk about multi-tasking! There are portents affecting love, business (especially Big Business), government, transit, mail and email and all the other communications and tele-communications that tie our world together, and probably all the transfers of money that go on every second from one bank on one side of the world to another bank on the opposite side of the world. This is reiterated by the fact that the chart has Capricorn straddling the second and third houses in a chart set for Washington DC or even for a midwest location.

The eclipse is at 25 degrees 2 minutes CAPRICORN. It is the longest annular eclipse to occur this century with a duration of 11 minutes 08 seconds. The eclipse point is at one degree Capricorn, in the Vedic or sidereal system. The eclipse will begin at 05:14 Universal Time (UT) and end at 08:59 UT. This is about 2 hours and 45 minutes, and by some rules of thumb, that means that this eclipse's immediate effects will last nearly three months; its long-term effects may last nearly three years. And because Capricorn is a cardinal sign, you may actually start having 'events' in your life as much as six weeks ahead of the eclipse.

Those with planets conjunct the eclipse may feel a 'stop' signal in their lives. They may get a message from the Universe that they are not on the right track to getting what it is they want, or rather what is the best thing for them. Capricorn, as a very practical sign anyway, and at 25 degrees it is a very practical, here-and-now phase of that or any sign, and the conclusion I make is that this eclipse carries messages about what is actually working or going to work for you -- not what you wish would work, or what ought to work according to some textbook.

BTW according to another astrologer, the ascendant of the Federal Reserve is 24 degrees Capricorn. So we ought to keep an eye on any hints in the news about whether the role of this institution is in for a shakeup or alteration in any way. Has having a Federal Reserve actually worked for the United States?? Are we better off with it or without it? Those are questions that require a hard look and honest answers.

Much is being made of the fact that this eclipse contacts President Obama's Saturn exactly, which is positioned in the twelfth house. It is also widely conjunct his Jupiter a zero degrees Aquarius. In addition, the eclipse also contacts the 26 Capricorn Midheaven of the Jan. 2009 inauguration chart. He may have to deliver some bad-tasting medicine, you might say, to the American public. He may have to make some hard choices that he wished he did not have to make. And he may have to come clean about some sweetheart deals to Big Business or Big Banks in last year's bailout bills. These are all going to bring him down to the level of mere mortals instead of Chosen Ones, but hey, we are being called to deal with practical realities not textbook examples by this eclipse in practical Capricorn.

Mercury, which goes direct the same day, is conjunct Pluto in the second house and square Saturn in the eleventh house. Delays and misunderstandings may rule the day, so postpone signing contracts or holding important meetings or speeches. We are not saying you should stay home and hide under your blanket, but be aware this is a better day for bringing up matters for clarification rather than uttering final pronouncements.

And many of those matters will certainly be related to money and/or love, since Venus is standing at the side of the Sun-Moon wedding. Let you and your honey have a real heart-to-heart over what is really important to both of you. It is much more important, for example, to have a low-key date every week (say, at the local soda shop over a nice ice cream sundae) rather than a big, expensive vacation once a year. And maybe if you are able to meet each other at the soul level, all those other mis-communications will resolve themselves.

Readers may go to to view a nice animation of the eclipse path as it begins over the Congo basin of Africa, progresses to Nairobi, crosses the Indian Ocean to touch the southern tip of India, then goes on to Mandalay and China.

What does an eclipse in Capricorn and conjunct Venus portend? Most of the answer to that question will come from your natal chart and which house is affected, and whether there are any natal planets affected by conjunction or other aspects.

ARIES: The eclipse falls in your solar tenth house of career and reputation. Venus high in your chart certainly gives you a very good chance at earning more cash this year. The North Node is also very near the eclipse, and promises that the events that transpire in 2010 will be favorable to your soul development. Mercury and Pluto in your solar ninth house are incredibly favorable for publishing or telecom ventures. Do you have a book project in the works? This is a good year to promote your book using the internet, social media, word-of-mouth campaigns, and other mass communication media.
TAURUS: The eclipse falls in your solar ninth house of travel, college, publishing and law. Where have you failed to follow through on any of these issues? With Venus conjunct the eclipse, love or cash are somehow tied in with these areas. Do you have a book project? You may finally find a publisher who extends a handsome advance. Prospective college students may locate loans and grants. Legal cases may finally come to a conclusion where you are awarded a just sum in compensation. But you did not have the right information or contact info until now, and so you can finally move forward on commissioning the right attorney, writers' agent, or whatever to represent you in your ventures.
GEMINI: The eclipse falls in your solar eighth house of wills, estates, insurance, taxes, loans and debt. Geminis will have a great opportunity to clear their financial decks of the burden of debt. If you are deeply in debt, get the proper help you need and listen, it should not cost you anything. Look up your state online, and there will be state offices with a list of bona-fide counselors to help you learn to manage your finances. Go online also to find info on what you need to know in order to contest an insurance denial, or refile your taxes, or any of a million things related to these financial issues. The eighth house also covers generational matters, which means that families may see a new addition, elders may come to live with an adult child, and adult children may come boomeranging back to their parents' home.
CANCER: The eclipse falls in your solar seventh house of partnerships and marriage. You will have cleared up the communications difficulties with your prospective partner, and can now move forward with drawing up contracts specifying your division of responsibilities. You may have been stymied in finding a counselor or other help in ironing out any difficulties in your marriage, but now you finally locate a book, counselor, or program that works for you. You might look up the book, “The 5 Love Languages”, which is probably available at your library.
LEO: The eclipse falls in your solar sixth house of health and occupation, as well as hobbies. Here again, one's hobby or avocation may become a second source of income for you, if you are able to figure out how to communicate your skills to the public. Learning a few marketing skills would benefit you now. Perhaps you can share ad space with a related service company, or simply put an ad on Craigslist like everyone else. Guard your health, and control your intake of sweets (Venus rules sugar). You can greatly improve your health over the year to come if you are diligent about taking painless baby steps to improve your diet and exercise regimen.
VIRGO: The eclipse falls in your solar fifth house of children, sports and risk-taking. Venus smiles on you for 2010 if you are hazarding the stock market or other investments, or if you gamble on sports events, or take other calculated risks. Be very careful that you understand the game, tho. Venus may bring another child into the family, or at least a house guest who is quite charming and attractive. If you have been trying to conceive or adopt, you should finally find out what agency or clinic can be of the most help to you in achieving your goal. Virgo athletes may win scholarships.
LIBRA: The eclipse falls in your solar fourth house of house and family. Perhaps you finally manage to get your home loan adjusted in the mortgage relief program signed by Pres. Obama. Your home is very, very important to you Librans, and you have fought tooth and nail to save it all through this horrible mortgage crisis. Now at last some light shines at the end of the tunnel. You find out what info was missing from prior applications for relief, and your request sails through. Family matters brighten, and you are able to express the love that you really feel for one another. Perhaps you are able to live in some kind of extended family arrangement, possibly with one family living upstairs and one downstairs.
SCORPIO: The eclipse falls in your solar third house of siblings, neighbors, local schools, automobiles and transit, and your own community. You may be able to mend fences with estranged siblings (or with problem neighbors), and finally express the love that you feel for each other. Repairing and opening the lines of communication will be paramount in the following months and long-term.
SAGITTARIUS: The eclipse falls in your solar second house of money and personal resources. This does not promise lottery wins, Sag, this is just a promising indicator that your efforts at work will continue to be recognized and compensated accordingly. But it also could indicate a change in jobs, with the new job paying more than your present position. Make sure you understand all the details of the compensation package, because employers are not throwing money at employees for nothing. Check out the manager's or president's record with the company or prior companies.
CAPRICORN: The eclipse falls in your solar first house of self and appearance. This eclipse affects you the most personally, not just in your material needs but also your innermost emotional needs for love and affection and acceptance. Capricorn often is treated as Mr. Mealticket because they are quite good at making money, but they really need to know that they are loved for themselves as well as for how well they provide for their wives and families. I think that this eclipse will bring you a special someone who does love you for yourself, although the communication part of the relationship may well need ironing out first.
AQUARIUS: The eclipse falls in your solar twelfth house of privacy and retreat and hospitals. This eclipse may bring you an opportunity to withdraw and concentrate on developing a special talent or project. Writers may finally get the chance to attend a writers workshop or retreat, or musicians may get invited to a Chautauqua music camp. And if any of you have unfortunate drug habits that you wish to be rid of, then a stay at a progressive detox facility may help you to finally shake off a self-destructive lifestyle.
PISCES: The eclipse falls in your solar eleventh house of hopes and wishes, as well as friends, groups and social and charitable organizations. You may join a charitable organization or one that provides grants or special events such as Make-A-Wish. OR you and your significant other may join a club together, hoping that the shared experiences will help keep you together.

In addition you may try looking at which house is touched by this eclipse in your NATAL chart. Use the list that follows here. My thanks to Kaye Shinker for this list.

1.The appearance you present to the world -- personality/persona, image, appearance.
2. The income you acquire one dollar at a time
3. The vehicles in your life, siblings and neighbors, community, local schools, how-to.
4. The home, your house, where you start and finish your day. Family matters too.
5. Entertainment and your ability to take a risk; children, games and sports, stock market.
6. The actual work you accomplish; hobbies, health.
7. Your partnerships: business, and otherwise
8. Insurance and taxes, loans, debts.
9. Travel and higher education
10. Career, reputation, honors and rank.
11. Earnings and dividends resulting from career; friends, charities, organizations, all groups
12. Chronic problems, enemies, retreats, hospitals.

Then, one may take note of which planets are near or are aspecting the eclipse point. If the eclipse contacts your Sun, you may experience a milestone and find new ways to make money. Your work increases your income, and you find intelligent ways to set aside the extra money you have earned. If the eclipse contacts the Moon, you may take great risks with your money, and it may actually pay off. Income can be volatile. And the biggest impact on your life is that you may move to a new home.

Eclipses that contact Mercury improve your chances for success in schooling and other intellectually demanding programs. You may be in transit a lot, either driving on the road or piling up the frequent-flyer miles. Eclipses that contact Venus improve your chances of winning money, prizes, and other bonuses during the years following the eclipse. Business partnerships formed now can be very successful, and you enjoy the pleasures that money can bring you. Eclipses that contact your Mars may bring a desire to take risks, so be careful. It is great for buckling down to outline your goals and taking steps to achieve them!

Eclipses that contact Jupiter increase your income and returns on investments, but also you may decide to spend on capital improvements, hopefully ones that will increase your income in years to come. Eclipses that contact Saturn help you learn to drive a good bargain, and thrift becomes an ingrained habit. There is nothing wrong with buying on sale, after all. You tally up your accounts and analyze where your best profits are coming from.

Eclipses that contact Uranus may bring sudden opportunities in whatever house is affected. It may be a business or travel opportunity, for example, but it may carry some risk which you need to research how to manage successfully. But it will probably be worth taking that risk.

Eclipses that contact Neptune revitalizes your creativity; your avocation may become your vocation. Your hobby may become your business if you can finally figure out how to present it to the paying public. Eclipses that contact Pluto serve to close a chapter of your life. Maybe you need to scale down possessions in order to move into a smaller place; Pluto will give you the strength to consign items to the trash or the Goodwill box. You may have a household or a business where you have to prune the payroll; Pluto will give your the strength to make these hard decisions.

And a final note: If you have a relationship that is troubled, or that you wish to resume, you might try the 40-day prayer. It is a very simple ritual that requires only that you repeat the following words at least once a day: “(name of other person), I am praying to you. Thank you, (name) for everything you have done for me. I am sorry for anything I have done to you.” Many stories of reunions or phone calls out of the blue could be related here.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 10-17, 2010

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun is conjunct Venus on Monday afternoon at 20 degrees Capricorn. This is not a very romantic sign for this conjunction, but it does emphasize family, genealogy, tradition, and history. Perhaps a couple enjoys working on family history together, researching online records or historical society artifacts. Perhaps a family business is born, one that allows the parents to carve out time with their children.

Venus sextiles Uranus early Wednesday at 23 degrees Capricorn/Pisces. An online romance may blossom. Some of us may be able to find customers using the internet auctions or other web sites. You may attract unusual people into your life, possibly creative types, and may hit upon unusual ways of expressing yourself in the arts or music. Unexpected or exciting things may come into your life, up to and including a windfall. This Venus-Uranus aspect also ties into the Nodes at 21 degrees of Cancer/Capricorn, and Neptune at almost 25 degrees Aquarius. So the opportunity is there for events to push you along on a path of spiritual development.

Rah, Mercury goes direct on Friday, Jan. 15, at 11:52 am at 5 degrees 35 minutes of Capricorn. As always, be cautious for about three days before or after a Mercury station, as this is often when people get their signals mixed or accidents happen. But hopefully you have used the retrograde period to learn more about a situation or person, and reassess.

Saturn also makes a station (retrograde) at 10:56 am Wednesday at 4 degrees 39 minutes of Libra. It will remain retrograde till late May. Natives of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will likely be even more frustrated than before. You are normally one who likes to get things done and get it done quickly, so being told to come back tomorrow (or do it over) is going to drive you bonkers. In patience possess ye your souls.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 - Saturn makes a station in your solar seventh house on Wednesday; marriage and other partnerships can be tested. Whether it is best to not see each other for a time, or actively work on the relationship with things like counseling or marriage enrichment, is up to you. But developing empathy and accepting imperfections should be uppermost. Matters related to career may finally move forward again when Mercury goes direct in Capricorn on Friday.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 - Saturn makes a station in your solar sixth house on Wednesday; your health may be a concern at least until it goes direct again in late May. Take steps to guard your health, because worry and anxiety can drain your energy and deplete vitamins. Get back on a proper regimen of rest and exercise to maintain energy levels. Matters related to higher education, law or publishing may finally move forward again when Mercury goes direct in Capricorn on Friday.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 - Saturn makes a station in your solar fifth house on Wednesday; creative projects may stall or you begin researching the history of one of the arts. Writers may get writers' block; parents may begin to look upon their children as burdens. But you are forced to delve into the underlying spiritual riches in an art, a child, or your own creative struggles. Mercury goes direct in your solar eighth house and may finally unsnarl problems with health insurance or estate paperwork.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 - Saturn makes a station in your solar fourth house on Wednesday; you become more conservative than ever and fear changes. The mother or other family member may become a source of concern or worry, but I am sure you will weather the personal trial and enrich your relationship. Take opportunities to capture retelling of family stories on tape or video. Matters related to partnerships may finally move forward again when Mercury goes direct in Capricorn on Friday.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 - Saturn makes a station in your solar third house on Wednesday; this can really put a snag in transit or travel this winter/spring until Saturn turns direct in late May. Put off any vacation plans till summer at least, as the connections may not work out smoothly. Even local commutes may run into snarls so try different routes as needed. Matters related to health or jobs may finally move forward again when Mercury goes direct in Capricorn on Friday. You will need to continue guarding your health tho, at least till Mars goes safely direct again in March. Take care.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Saturn makes a station in your solar second house on Wednesday; pull back on outgoing expenses for now until you find out how this affects you personally. You might find that a source of income dries up temporarily, at least until Saturn goes direct again in late May. Your thrift and practicality are tested again, but you get by with hard work and sharing with others. Matters related to children and creative pursuits may finally move forward again when Mercury goes direct in Capricorn on Friday.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Saturn makes a station in your sign at 10:56 am Wednesday; you may have to dig deep into yourself to find the discipline and organization and yes, the drive to achieve your goals in 2010. Matters related to home and family may finally move forward again when Mercury goes direct in Capricorn on Friday. Mars retrograding in your eleventh house means meetings with friends or clubs may be cancelled or postponed while health or debt issues are worked out.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio as Sunday rolls in, until midday. Sunday overnight has a square from the Moon to Uranus after midnight; possibly you might have colorful, exciting dreams or even nightmares. The morning features squares to Neptune and then Jupiter. This can mean emotional hurts and fears, but realizing that we all have imperfections will go a long way towards repairing relationships. The early am aspect to Neptune makes escapism tempting, but meditation is probably your best option. The Jupiter aspect at mid-morning adds a keen interest in religious, spiritual or philosophical ideas.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 1:10 pm till late Tuesday. The Moon remains un-aspected till a sextile to Saturn at 10 pm; you can clear out several chores before bedtime and have things ready for the morning rush. The Moon trines Mars in Leo on Monday evening; take in a game or play a competitive round of golf/tennis/whatever. Tuesday has a square to Uranus about 11 am; emotional upsets are possible at home but step back and look at things coolly. A sextile to Neptune-Jupiter puts you on the sunny side of the street the afternoon and evening.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 11:54 pm till midday Friday. The Moon is conjunct Pluto and square Saturn on Wednesday morn; you are awfully tempted to pull the plug on a job or relationship but I urge you to deliberate; Saturn is going retrograde and you may have to patch things up later. The Moon is conjunct Mercury at midday; the phone rings off the hook, and emails fly as you clear up misunderstandings ahead of Mercury's direct station on Friday. Early Thursday you are challenged to re-evaluate your investments, insurance, or estate matters. A health issue may be the spur to changing things around. The Moon is conjunct not only the Sun on the first Solar Eclipse of the year but also Venus. Wishing you much love and kindness in 2010.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from 12:17 pm Friday till early next Sunday. A Moon-Saturn trine late Friday helps you establish goals for the week and year, or just tackle items on your to-do list. A Moon-Mars opposition about 6 pm Saturday makes you extremely competitive; also you might work out your frustrations at the gym. It is best that you 'get physical' in a positive way, because your irritability, especially with women, can cost you a lot of good will.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon in Sag squares Uranus in your sign midday Tuesday; this might signal an emotional storm so hold onto your center of balance. Uranus in your sign receives a sextile from Venus early Wednesday; women friends may surprise you with a gift, or you may just really, really enjoy a girls night out. Saturn makes a station in your solar eighth house on Wednesday; your quest for monetary security can meet with reverses, so do not entrust your whole life savings to any one person or company. Matters related to club membership or friends may finally move forward again when Mercury goes direct in Capricorn on Friday.
