Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 2-8, 2014
By
Milky Way Maid
Dear
Readers-- I continue to recover from an episode of blood clots on the
lungs. Thanks for your good thoughts and get-well wishes. Please
visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at
StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might
need to see a doctor about it.
Mercury
goes Stationary Retrograde at 4:43 pm Thursday at 3 degrees 18' of
Pisces. It
will cross back into Aquarius on Feb. 12 or 13, and go Direct on Feb.
28 at 18 degrees 10' of Aquarius. Mercury will not cross 3 degrees
Pisces again until about March 20, so make a note of any projects or
issues that are stalled by the retrograde because they might not
really move forward again until March 20. This all depends on whether
transiting Mercury contacts (or aspects) any natal planets, too.
More
on Mercury Retrograde
in Pisces and Aquarius: Some have noted people get pretty slack about
keeping up with real-world demands when Mercury retrogrades in
Pisces; procrastination can take over and then really snarl your
schedule. Psychic or paranormal experiences may enter your mind
field. People often feel more stressed, and seek a quiet place to
spend a few hours. This retrograding Mercury will actually spend more
time in Aquarius, where it makes people more fixed in their views and
opinions, causing serious friction both at home and at work. The
worst part is that both sides might be wrong. Those who analyze
medical astrological data state that they see more nerve and muscle
disorders during Mercury retrograde in Aquarius.

Readers
can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also their Ascendant
for further clues to how your week will develop. NOTE: some aspects
are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the
Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern
Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.
ARIES
- March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from 11:55 pm
Sunday till Wednesday morning. Try to avoid getting obsessed with an
idea or a person Monday night; best to walk away and cool off. You
may still be rather defensive the next day. Mercury goes retrograde
in your solar twelfth to eleventh houses on Thursday; try to avoid
pitched battles with friends and bosom buddies over viewpoints that
may not be so important in the long run.
TAURUS
- April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 4:46 am
Wednesday till midday Friday. Tuesday night you may be way too
defensive when talking about negative health habits that are doing
yourself no favors. Wednesday should be a pleasant day with much
touching bases with friends and relatives. Relax with a movie late
that night. Thursday continues on a productive phase, even with
Mercury going retrograde that afternoon. Try to get as much done as
possible Thursday morning rather than afternoon.
GEMINI
- May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 1:44 pm Friday
thru the weekend. You can get a lot done Friday evening due to
excellent focus on the task. However, you might be prone to worries
later that night; try to distract yourself with family game night or
other group activities. You enjoy comedy and expressing yourself
freely on Saturday morn – a la Born to Be Wild. Mercury goes
retrograde in your solar tenth to ninth houses on Thursday; you could
get drawn into battles over agendas, or the boss may overhear
something you'd rather he hadn't.
CANCER
- June 21-July 22 – You may be emotionally over the top
Monday night; put the brakes on and look at things objectively.
Tuesday night you may be way too defensive when dealing with
criticism of how you juggle work and career demands. Mercury goes
retrograde in your solar ninth to eighth houses on Thursday; try not
to be so adamant about your convictions this month.
LEO
- July 23-Aug. 22 - Tuesday night you may be way too defensive
when someone questions what you know or how you know it. Mercury goes
retrograde in your solar eighth to seventh houses on Thursday; you
could get into pitched battles with your partners (personal or
business partners) possibly over joint finances or other pooled
monies.
VIRGO
- Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Tuesday night you may be way too
defensive when dealing with money issues, your own or joint accounts.
Thursday morning may be the best period for asking for favors; in
fact you may get even more than you hope for. Mercury goes retrograde
in your solar seventh to sixth houses on Thursday; you and a health
provider may have strong opinions on what your medical problem is, re
problems affecting nerves and muscles.
LIBRA
- Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Monday night may be the most stressful
period of the week; remember to express your caring and restrain
yourself from saying things you don't mean. Tuesday night you may be
way too defensive when dealing with your mate. Mercury goes
retrograde in your solar sixth to fifth houses on Thursday; a child's
health may be a concern for the month. There may be a great deal of
confusion regarding health or legal matters Friday night.
SCORPIO
- Oct. 23-Nov. 21 -Sunday's Moon-Saturn trine may see you lay
a guilt trip on the kids, in the guise of having a meaningful chat.
Tuesday night you may be way too defensive when talking about
negative health habits that are doing yourself no favors. Worries may
bog you down late Thursday but that is a short-term transit. Mercury
goes retrograde in your solar fifth to fourth houses on Thursday;
disputes over family members, especially children, may mar the month.
SAGITTARIUS
- Nov. 22-Dec. 21 - Tuesday night you may be way too defensive
when dealing with friends and their opinion of your creative efforts,
or of your latest love interest. Mercury goes retrograde in your
solar fourth to third houses on Thursday; family trips may be the
topic of heated discussions. Be sensitive to a partner's worries or
confusion Friday night. Saturday morning is best for enjoying life
and laughs.
CAPRICORN
- Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Sunday's Moon-Saturn trine may see you
laying a guilt trip on a child of yours regarding how much you pay
for their phone or internet access. Monday's squares to the Moon may
propel some heated family arguments; everyone may need a timeout!
Thursday morning may be the best period for asking favors. Mercury
goes retrograde in your solar third to second houses on Thursday; be
especially careful driving to avoid costly accidents.
AQUARIUS
- Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - Tuesday night you may be way too defensive
when someone questions what you know or how you know it. Mercury goes
retrograde in your solar second to first houses on Thursday; you may
shoot yourself in the foot during this retrograde, mis-speaking in
such a way that hurts your image. Be sensitive to a child's worries
or confusion Friday night. Children's laughter can be most healing
when you share some quality time Saturday morning.
PISCES
- Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces on Sunday, but
goes void-of-course about midday. This means try to stick to routine
matters in the afternoon or evening. An early luncheon with older
in-laws or with a mentor looks favorable. Tuesday night you may be
way too defensive when dealing with money issues, your own or joint
accounts. Be sensitive to a family member's worries or confusion
Friday night.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 26-Feb. 1, 2014
By
Milky Way Maid
Dear
Readers--
I
missed a column in January due to illness. I was in Intensive Care
for a few days; my doctors are still running some tests. I'd
appreciate your keeping me in mind for the near future while I mend.
Thanks so much!
The
Sun at 9 degrees Aquarius is sextile Uranus in Aries at 3:33 am
Wednesday. Sun-Uranus
aspects have to do with declaring one's independence and asserting
one's uniqueness. We may resemble a rebel without a cause. We may
break out of our ruts, and even play hookey from school or work.
Insights can arrive without really working for them. Mentally, this
transit favors study of any kind, because your alert, curious mind
can comprehend and accept ideas more readily and more quickly.
Jupiter at 12 degrees
Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 4:36 am Friday.
This is probably a generational transit rather than a personal one.
Opposition by the oligarchy (Pluto) can be strongly against
progressive politics (Jupiter). On a personal level, one is obliged
to keep to the straight and narrow lest the law (Jupiter) and/or
police (Pluto) clip your wings a bit. (I am reminded of Jesus' trip
to Jerusalem, where he worked to challenge both the religious and
Roman authorities, while trying to maintain silence on the subject of
whether he was the Messiah or not.)
Mercury enters Pisces
at 9:29 am Friday. Mercury in
Pisces far prefers the private world of fantasy to dry and nasty
reality. Mercury here can be amazingly intuitive, although Pisces
often fears expressing her intuitions in the face of ridicule or
laughter. Mature Pisces natives can communicate their visions of a
better way of life, birthing ideals into a healing force in the real
world. The Piscean mind is not basically scientific, but it can
absorb information and do well enough in an academic setting to
graduate. If Mercury here is well aspected, denotes a creative
imagination. Famous people with Mercury in Pisces include:
opera singers Adelina Patti and Leontyne Price, author Victor Hugo,
Eugene McCarthy, Earl Warren, Sidney Poitier, Princes Edward and
Andrew, poet Robert Frost, and W E B DuBois.
Venus makes her
direct station at 13 degrees, 34' Capricorn at 3:49 pm Friday. As
I have explained before, based on reading Dane Rudhyar and other
astrologers, the Venus retrograde period allows us to have a “change
of heart” – about a specific person or about our values in
general (balancing values of people vs money). During the retrograde,
it can be awkward or difficult to relate to others, or we may doubt
the sincerity of the Other, or feel let down. On December 21, Venus
went retrograde at 28 degrees, 58' of Capricorn. In 2012, Venus went
retrograde on May 15 and direct on June 27. Possibly reflecting on
the 2012 period will reveal insights useful to understanding the
current retrograde and direct motions. Venus represents magnetism,
and during the retrograde it might be best to try not to attract
whatever or whoever we most desire, because we may inadvertently
drive them away. Wait till after the direct station (Jan. 31) to try
to spread your nets. Then Venus is your friend again, and can
function normally as the prime attractor in your life.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 19-25, 2014
By
Milky Way Maid
Dear Readers: I
missed a week of this month's columns due to health problems. I was
in the Intensive Care ward for a few days with a serious issue and my
doctors have put me on medication while ordering more lab work.
Please keep me in your thoughts for the near future. Thank you.
The Sun enters
Aquarius at 10:51 pm Sunday. Aquarians
are natural group members and sometimes group leaders; they accept
that various members have different roles to fill in any healthy
group dynamic. Aquarius natives almost always have an independent
streak, sometimes being contrary for no reason at all except to
express their “I gotta be me” attitude. Is often able to make
members of a group feel included in determining the agenda for the
group, so they willingly share info and lend their energies to the
group project. Aquarians seem to understand human weakness, and are
willing to have the group carry a member who is going thru a tough
time. Aquarians look forward to all the new technology and scientific
breakthroughs that the future brings, while remaining firmly grounded
in the present time. This is a fixed sign, and don't forget it! They
are not flighty even though they look forward to change. They can be
the most steadfast of friends and spouses. Famous people
with the Sun in Aquarius include:
Lewis Carroll, Charles Dickens, Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln,
Gertrude Stein, W C Fields, Carol Channing, Franklin Roosevelt, Mia
Farrow, and Wolfgang Mozart.
Mercury at 20 degrees
Aquarius trines Mars in Libra at 9:57 pm Friday. Mercury
with Mars in a positive aspect gives excellent hand-eye coordination,
especially in sports and athletics. It is also a help in technical
jobs and in creating crafts of fine workmanship.
Mercury at 22 degrees
Aquarius squares Saturn in Scorpio at 6:56 pm Saturday. This
could mean the arrival of bad news or at least serious news, and
serious discussion of that news flash. You may have to accept a delay
in progress on some matters on your agenda. Nevertheless this transit is good for focusing on detailed work, such as in handcrafts or technical stuff.

can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also their Ascendant
for further clues to how your week will develop. NOTE: some aspects
are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the
Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern
Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.
ARIES
- March 20-April 19 – The Sun enters your solar eleventh
house on Sunday; you apply the art of not seeming to lead while
leading quite successfully. On Friday, the Mercury-Mars trine helps
you effectively explain and defend your passionately-held views about
the future. Saturday is probably not the time to broach discussions
with club officers; messages can be garbled, delayed or lost.
TAURUS
- April 20-May 20 - The Sun enters your solar tenth house on
Sunday; your uniqueness is expressed or even recognized in a public
way. Attend a group event late in the week, where you could meet a
future mate. On Friday you are more inclined to take on mental
challenges at work; this may involve actually programming technology
or searching for ready-made applications.
GEMINI
- May 21-June 20 - The Sun enters your solar ninth house on
Sunday; you may be a perpetual teacher this month, or take a course
in a futuristic science. On Friday you might ardently express how
important you feel education is to your children, who might not be
sold on the value of a sheepskin. Legal matters can be delayed past
the weekend, so try to stay cool, calm and collected.
CANCER
- June 21-July 22 - The Sun enters your solar eighth house on
Sunday; you find ways to apply pooled resources for the good of many
people. Midweek is brightened by an exchange of gifts or other
symbols of affection. On Friday, for some reason the subject of who
should inherit what receives the focus of your passionate attention.
You may find a local lawyer who is the right one to handle a
sensitive legal matter.
LEO
- July 23-Aug. 22 - The Sun enters your solar seventh house on
Sunday; you expect your mate to recognize both your uniqueness and
your equality as a person within a stable relationship. Friday night
favors defending your views effectively, possibly in a public place.
VIRGO
- Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Sun enters your solar sixth house
on Sunday; you appreciate the advances that technology brings in
monitoring your own health. The Moon is in Virgo from Sunday till
Tuesday morning. Interesting dreams to discuss over Sunday brunch.
Share a good discussion with a mentor type Sunday evening, and retire
for the night with an optimistic mind-set. Do somebody a kindness
Monday morning.
LIBRA
- Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Sun enters your solar fifth house
on Sunday; your inner child demands expression of his uniqueness and
his fascination with new toys. Moon is in Libra from 7:43 am till
Tuesday till Thursday afternoon. Tuesday mid-morning favors
conferences and any meetings where people have to get on the same
page. Wednesday can be stressful, with people pulling in contrary
directions. However, Wednesday night brings a phone call from an
adult child with good news.
SCORPIO
- Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Sun enters your solar fourth house
on Sunday; you want to be accepted by family members as a unique
person. The Moon is in Scorpio from 4:43 pm Thursday till Saturday
night. Thursday night favors an evening at the cinema or perhaps
renting some venturesome fare from local sources. Friday afternoon
favors a chat with your mentor. Late afternoon favors initiating
legal matters, which might be favorably decided before the close of
business. Towards the weekend you may meet a future mate, possibly in
a group setting or in a hobby club.
SAGITTARIUS
- Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Sun enters your solar third house on
Sunday; you might find yourself more peripatetic than usual, perhaps
sharing information with groups of people. You may give a speech
before a group Friday night in which you are more passionate than
usual about expressing your views. The Moon is in Sag from 10:13 pm
Saturday thru the weekend. No aspects form Saturday night, so enjoy
using your free will as you wish.
CAPRICORN
- Dec. 22-Jan. 19 - The Sun enters your solar second house on
Sunday; you express your personal values through the kinds of
purchases or donations you make this month. On Friday there is a
chance of getting a position in teaching, one that gives you a
platform for expressing your unique views.
AQUARIUS
- Jan. 20-Feb. 17 - The Sun enters your sign on Sunday; your
independence grows and you insist on your uniqueness. You may find a
way to make match-making pay as a business venture midweek. You may
have the opportunity to vent your passions in a courtroom Friday,
possibly when pleading your cause over a mere parking ticket. On
Saturday you probably won't be Miss Mary Sunshine; however you can
clear up intense, detailed tasks especially in handiworks like crafts
or technical stuff.
PISCES
- Feb. 18-March 19 - The Sun enters your solar twelfth house
on Sunday; you may get involved in realizing your private dream of a
world of equality and peace. On Friday you are rather upset at the
prospect of not inheriting into a family business or estate. Juno and
Chiron line up in your sign for the weekend, opposite Pallas Athena;
you may meet a future mate who is a lawyer or ombudsman type.
