Looking back at Prince William's “cracked skull” accident when he was a boy

by Milky Way Maid

Several years ago, it was in all the papers and was also mentioned in a book on the royals. But now in 2012, not many people seem to remember when Prince William had to be rushed to the hospital with a head injury.
The event may even have been foreshadowed in an eerie occurrence at his baptismal ceremony. Reports were that the candle lit during the ceremony by his parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, flickered but did not go out.

The Archbishop of Canterbury had baptized the infant, and handed the lit candle to the father, Charles. The windows were open and as a terrific storm gathered, a gust blew through the church, causing the candle to flicker. This was believed to predict a crisis in the young prince's future, but that he would survive whatever it was – according to a psychic, Van der Post.

On page 410 of Kitty Kelley's massive book, The Royals, she wrote,
BEGIN CITATION
“Prince William was accidentally hit on the head with a golf club, which fractured his skull, necessitating emergency surgery. Diana, who was at San Lorenzo restaurant when she received the news, hurried to her son's side an spent two night in the hospital with him until he could come home. Charles visited him for a few minutes after his surgery but did not otherwise interrupt his schedule. He said he had to attend a performance of Tosca. The press was appalled. “What Kind of Dad Are You?” shrieked a Sun headline. Jean Rook in the Daily Express asked: “What sort of father of an eight-year-old [sic] boy, nearly brained by a golf club, leaves the hospital before knowing the outcome for a night at the opera?”
END OF CITATION.

The facts are as follows:

Birth of Prince William was on June 21, 1981 at 9:03 pm. He weighed 7 lbs, 5 ounces.

His full name is William Arthur Philip Louis Windsor.

The accident took place on June 3, 1991, and he was admitted to Royal Berkshire Hospital. He was operated on at Great Ormond Street Hospital for a depressed fracture of the skull.

In an article printed in the Daily Mail, Prince William made light of it. BEGIN QUOTE
Prince William was interviewed on Newsround by 10-year-old cancer sufferer Alice.
“Yeah, we were on a putting green and the next thing you know there was a seven-iron and it came out of nowhere and it hit me in the head.” END QUOTE

ITN Source dot com adds that Princess Diana rode in the ambulance with William, although it is not clear which hospital was the destination for that ride.

So – I made up a two-ring chart with the inner circle for Prince William's birth time and the outer circle for the accident. It is frustrating when the things that you think will show up on a chart are not there, isn't it?
No Mars or Saturn or Uranus on the ascendant. He was having a lunar return, and transiting Sun was conjunct natal Mars in the sixth house of health. Mercury was transiting over Algol in Taurus in the fifth house of games and sports, opposite natal Uranus in Scorpio.

What strikes me most is not that the transiting planets are merely contacting natal planets, they are transiting natal HOUSE CUSPS. The House Cusps are possibly more sensitive than the natal planets and can often be used to time life events.

So that's all I know about this one.

Charts for starting two different jobs

by Milky Way Maid

I have often made charts of the start of various jobs, trying to glean some clues as to how things might work out, or in the case of temp jobs, how long the job might last.

Attached at charts for two different jobs from years past, dug out of the deep dark recesses of the archive. You may print out both charts, blowing them up on Paint or whatever you wish to use.

First up, a job that started in June 1996 at 7 am. If I remember correctly, this was a job that lasted until about February or March of 1999, when I left due to what I felt was a repetitive motion injury.

The work involved detailed and very picky assembly of electrical components – I do not want to get into too much detail about it now. But it was rather interesting for a while, anyway, and the boss was a multi-talented person who also designed magic tricks. Wild, hunh?

Saturn is high in the chart, possibly reflecting the fact that it was low-paid, though I was also able to work overtime (usually on a voluntary basis) to make a little more money. Venus is inconjunct Jupiter, which might reflect the fact that working conditions were not very good. There was no air conditioning in the summer heat, and I suffered because of that. Saturn might reflect the quality-control guy who was the immediate supervisor; Saturn is trine Pluto which might reflect that fact that he was solidly backed by the plant manager and I suppose the owner. This was true even though he was ill-informed on manufacturing safety issues or worker safety. I could throw more dirt on him but let's move on.

The second chart was felt by many to be a “good job” – quote unquote. Maybe they thought it had more job security than a lot of companies offered, but that was not really true – and it is not true anywhere, anymore, anyway!

This job started training me in January of 2000, but the actual hiring date came after all the training was completed and I was supposedly up to speed on everything – that was in May of 2000.

I have already mentioned to several readers that I once started a job on a void-of-course moon – this is the job! Well, now that I look at it again, actually the True Node was a scant 13 minutes later. Does that count? The North Node, I now note, was at 26 degrees Cancer, a critical degree and one that made a positive aspect to my natal Venus.

I hesitate to describe the nature of the business because it engenders such hatred on the part of some readers. But it was a health insurance company, a quite large one, which at the time was part of a global company but was spun off as an independent American company again while I was there.

I worked there for six years, and it was very stressful at times. There was always a push to do more in less time – but isn't that true everywhere? Yes, it is. We had a lot of IT tweaks (Informational Technology); our geeks made the system more user-friendly and automated a lot of stuff so all we had to do was use a shortcut key to instruct the system to direct the claim to another department, for example.

It was a good experience to have with a large, modern office, and with computer software, and with working downtown in a medium-sized city. I only left for personal reasons which had to do with other, personal stuff going on in that town, necessitating a move to another state.

As a Sun Taurus, the job and the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Taurus came about the same time and gave me an economic boost.

Event Chart for Picking up New Car

by Milky Way Maid

Over the years I have made astrological charts for the purchase (or in some cases, the title transfer) of new or used cars. I figure this is a topic of general interest to most astrologers who drive. We like to think that in addition to all the research on the mechanical attributes of the car we purchase, that we can also select a good time to buy a new/used car.

The accompanying chart was dug out of my trunk of old astrology materials. It is – so far – the only such chart I could find of any of the ones I made for a car purchase. Sorry I do not find the one for the actual signing of the sales contract. I know that is a key (no pun intended) moment, too, but I just don't have it.

Normally I now tell people that one of the transits to look for in buying any electronic or mechanical object is Mercury favorable to Uranus. Mercury because we want to travel in it, and Uranus because it is a mechanical, and electrical, and metal object. Mars can also be involved if it is a muscle car, a racing car, or red in color, or some other reasonable Mars-type use or function is attached to the particular car.

Let me pause here to give the planet placements, because they are on not on the chart itself. Sun is at 5 Pisces. Moon is sextile the Sun, at 1 Taurus. Mercury is at 29 Aquarius. Venus is at 19 Aries. Mars is at 13 Taurus. Jupiter is at 15 Virgo, retrograde. Saturn is at 6 Cancer, retrograde. Uranus is at 3 Pisces. Neptune is at 13 Aquarius. Pluto is at 22 Sag. The North Node is at 14 Taurus.

In this instance, you will easily note that first, Jupiter is on the ascendant. That was deliberate, once it became apparent that I was not happy with the color of any of the ones on the lot. Everyone else it seems orders white or silver cars, but those were the colors I was least interested in. So at first they were going to drive a red one from another city to me – more about this later.

Then I was getting a bit too antsy to wait for that car to arrive, so they made some ridiculous deal for the one with a deluxe package that was on the lot. But still I would have to come back since they wanted to prep it for the new owner – me.

So anyway, I picked up this car and it has been fine. I have had from this date in 2004 to the present day in 2012, with no plans to replace it.
I do wonder about the square to Mars in this chart. If I had accepted the car that was being driven over here for me, would it have arrived overheated (Mars)? Or the victim of an accident – also Mars?

And yes, I do realize now that Jupiter is viewed as rather weak in Virgo, since it much prefers to be in opposing Pisces. But sometimes a planet in a weak sign will act as if it has jumped to the opposite sign, a sign more hospitable to its energies. Maybe this is such a case?

You will also be struck by the stellium of Sun-Uranus-Mercury straddling the Aquarius-Pisces line. Ascendant ruler is Mercury, which is strong in a late degree. Late Aquarius gives rise to mental detectives, and Mercury here would also have favored starting a series of mystery novels. Alas, I had no such plans at that time for literary fame and fortune. Anyway, Mercury and Uranus, the two planets I mentioned above as favoring buying cars and other mechanical stuff, are conjunct in this chart. The fact that the car is still running and mechanically sound is a testament, I think, to the merit of using the aspect in buying cars.

The only things I have had to replace were, in the first years of owning the car, both headlights – and in 2011, a starter. Oh, and in 2008 or 2009, a battery. Nothing else really. There were a couple very minor recalls which were completely covered by VW, so that cost me nothing out of pocket.

Another astrologer wrote that the second house denotes what you keep having to spend money on for the car. The second house here is air sign Libra. Libra would normally denotes cosmetic fixes – and I could spend all my savings on fixing some body work but I just can't afford to do so now. With the car about to turn 9, I guess it isn't worth it to do, ever.

It is a little disturbing now when I see that Mars and the nodes exactly square Neptune. I do not know what to make of that. Maybe if the car had been the red one, as was once proposed by the dealer, things might have worked out differently.
