Your Milky Way Horoscope May 3-9

By Milky Way Maid

Taureans had their New Moon in April 24, so now Scorpio gets a Full Moon on Saturday, May 9 at 18 degrees, at 12:01 am Eastern Time. Check your own chart to see where it falls, in what house and whether it contacts any natal planets.

The Sun trines Saturn on Tuesday in the early morning. Use this day (or the night before) to adopt any discipline or enroll in a course of study. This can include going on a diet, starting an exercise regimen, any planning function or working on details. Take your clues from which house Saturn occupies in your own natal chart.

Another fun Mercury retrograde period begins 1 am Eastern time on Thursday. Mercury won't go direct till the end of May. This is a good time for doing things that begin with RE, revisit, revise (with care to confirm details), reflect (possibly with the aid of a journal or blog), recycle, repair, retrieve. It is also a fine time to go on vacation as long as you avoid the more hectic days around the Mercury stations. At least you know you will always come home at the end of the trip. BTW Mercury retrograde favors writing (as opposed to public speaking or verbal communications), so you may find yourself journaling or starting a book project.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Moon is inconjunct Venus and Mars in your sign on Sunday; dissatisfaction with minor irritations leads you to make adjustments to your environment. (This aspect repeats on Friday a.m. so don't be surprised if you wind up re-doing things.) The opposition on Tuesday p.m. offers an opportunity to resolve (or compromise on) different needs with your partner. The Full Moon in Taurus this week activates your money houses, which ought to bring some encouraging news. You may also have to deal with insurance or legacy issues.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon in Virgo Sunday night trines Sun in Taurus; this boosts your sense of well-being and assurance, and you are easy to get along with. The Moon in Libra is inconjunct Sun in Taurus on Wednesday morning; the two Venus-ruled signs work to inspire your creative juices. The Moon opposes your Sun on the Full Moon late Friday or early Saturday. Different areas of your life pull you in conflicting directions, and pull you off-center. You can help resolve this and harmonize your life by consciously uniting both halves of the brain, via yoga, knitting (don't laugh), or other hobbies that use both sides of the brain (both hands equally).

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – You're in an extremely changeable mood early Sunday, even more than usual for a mutable Gemini! So be prepared to go with the flow. Early Monday can be rather trying due to the double whammy of Moon and Saturn together in your solar fourth house. Tuesday favors escaping for some creative or entertaining fun, possibly with the children. The Full Moon activates the sixth and twelfth houses this month, so you may be visiting hospitals where poor Aunt Opal is recuperating.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Tuesday will be quite the action day at work and at home. The Full Moon this week affects your fifth and eleventh houses, ruling creativity and friends/groups. Perhaps the near future brings an opportunity to share your talents with your friends or a club you belong to. Watch out what magazines you pick up Thursday because you could be so intrigued by photos, that they inspire a redecorating phase of your own home. A trine between the other water signs Saturday can bring a fun day trip with the children to a museum, another city, or some exotic traveling exhibit.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Monday's Moon-Saturn conjunction in your solar second house may find you dwelling too much on your financial lacks rather than what you can creatively substitute for store-bought items. Also nagging over how much sports you watch is really a reminder to get out and actually move your own body around. The Full Moon this week can activate the home and career axis, possibly with home winning out. You will have to work on resolving conflicting pulls, and possibly re-assign a fairer share of chores or child-care.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from the wee hours Sunday till early Tuesday. The Moon squares Mercury very early; it's possible the Mercury retrograde may act early to delay newspaper delivery. The Moon then trines Pluto; do a little investigation because it is possible the paper may be nearby. The Moon trines the Sun late for a harmonious evening with your partner. A conjunction to Saturn early Monday puts your nose to the grindstone bright and early. The evening has an opposition to Uranus, making you contrary and excitable, but this will pass. Themes related to Juno (relationships, equality or inequality) and Vesta (security, privacy, time to refresh and focus) may crop up due to hard aspects this week.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from early Tuesday till late morning Thursday. The Moon trines Mercury from your solar ninth house, possibly bringing good news or an offer; if it brings a prepayment to you, then sign papers, otherwise hold off till after Mercury goes direct because the situation can change. The following aspects (square to Pluto and oppositions to Venus and Mars) may kill a deal or cause you to terminate a prior contract. Be sure this is what you want. Wednesday and Thursday can be very creative so make time for your brushes or camera.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from late morning Thursday till Saturday evening. Adjust Insurance, wills or other contracts to bring them up to date. Another adjustment may come easy in regards to changing old recipes to cut down on sugar, or substitute other flavorings. You can get much done Friday afternoon with the aid of a Saturn sextile Moon. You may enjoy a Full Moon meditation Friday night; write down goals and requests. You also have tremendous opportunities Saturday to make a nice gain, so put down a buck for the door prize or lottery.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Mars and Venus in your solar sixth house have been urging your to get outside and get moving; the square to Pluto and the frequent Moon transits give you a greater drive to get on a constructive program that yields results. Possibly the Full Moon will have you visiting hospitals, either to encourage relatives who are ailing or to bring your entertaining talents to the children's ward. Mercury's move into your solar seventh house puts an accent on clear communication, especially with the imminent retrograde.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – You may find it difficult to persuade someone Tuesday, in spite of your considerable charms and arguments. On Thursday afternoon, you may find out some things you wish you'd rather not have. The Full Moon affects your fifth and eleventh solar houses, possibly bringing an outlet for your own creative talents, possibly with the aid of friends who alert you to juried shows or other openings.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – On Wednesday evening, the Moon in Libra trines Jupiter in Aquarius, favoring solar ninth house matters such as higher education, publishing, religion and law. Perhaps you find a stimulating lecture on campus, or a sparkling travelogue. Thursday morn you are a bit too empathetic and can pick up negative vibes from those around you; Neptune also has you prone to daydreaming.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – A Moon opposition to Uranus in Pisces Monday can knock you off-center and make you contrary. It's better to vary your routine a bit so you feel less constrained by rules and routine. Thursday you may be able to adjust your outlook and maybe your electronic gadgets, too. The Moon trines Uranus in Pisces midday Saturday so expect the unexpected surprise, perhaps on campus or in dealings with a publisher, church, or lawyer/court.

What Do the Stars Say About the 2009 Kentucky Derby??

by Milky Way Maid

Recently I posted an article predicting the first-round results for the March Madness college basketball tournament. I did pretty well considering I don't even follow basketball! It looks like I hit about 60 percent, which is about what all the other sports handicappers can accomplish.
But now the first Saturday in May beckons, with the most exciting two minutes of sports. The most exciting two minutes of ANY sport!! Millions who never watch any other horse race watch the Kentucky Derby.

Aspects referred to in the notes are between the horse's natal chart and the transits for the race, or vice versa. Interpretations are based on a finish-line race time of about 6:10 pm Eastern Time in Louisville, Kentucky. I have read that Churchill Downs is adding a race earlier in the day, so I do not know if that will affect the time that the Derby is actually run. If so, that can definitely affect my interpretations and choices.

So without too much further ado, here are my readings of the prospects for the 20 entrants of the Run for the Roses. They are more or less in alphabetical order. Actually, I have 21, because as of this writing, we do not know if Quality Road's second quarter crack (an injury to the hoof) will cause his owners to scratch him from the race.

Advice: A February foal, he has some very bad aspects. Both the transiting Moon squares his Mars, and transiting Mars squares his Moon. This usually produces a horse who tries to go to the front and won't relax. This is not the best style for trying to win the Derby. I would not even put him in my exotic bets. He also has Mars squaring the Neptune-Jupiter conjunction, which ordinarily would not be a bad thing.

Papa Clem: This is the other entry with the same bad aspect. Mars squares the Moon, which usually produces a rush to the front and nothing left in the stretch run. However, Papa Clem also has his Sun conjunct transiting Jupiter, which is extraordinarily lucky and could give him enough gas to get to the finish line. His aspects are mixed, shall we say. It will all depend on whether his jockey can control the pace of the race in the early going.

Chocolate Candy: He has a couple good aspects, but nothing major. Mars is squares Jupiter, which usually produces a good effort. And Saturn is trine Mars, for a disciplined and controlled effort, or perhaps a good jockey ride.

Desert Party: His Sun is squaring the nodes, and I am not sure what to make of that because I have never seen that before. Jupiter is also exactly sextile Saturn, which is sometimes a positive indicator. I read that he and his stablemate are blossoming in Kentucky and training well.

Dunkirk: His Sun is near the North Node, inconjunct Pluto. Plus Saturn is trine Mars, probably indicating a good job by the jockey. These aspects are fairly minor and do not have a strong aspect to his Mars or Sun or back them up. I do not see him making an impact on Saturday.

Flying Private: He has only a sextile between his natal and transiting Mars. This is a fairly minor aspect.

Friesan Fire: Mars is three degrees from an exact trine to Jupiter, which is a minor plus. It is also a couple days after his birthday, which usually produces a feeling of well-being in both people and animals.

General Quarters: He has only one strong aspect and that is an opposition between Sun and Saturn. I have not seen this in past Derbys, so I have little to go on. It is either very good or very bad; good, when Saturn awards honors (meaning he wins the roses), and bad when Saturn denies a thing.

Hold Me Back: His Sun is conjunct the descendant, which may indicate a third or fourth place finish. Mars squares the Venus-Mars conjunction, which produces a stubborn effort to hang on. It is also opposite Pluto, which generally means he goes all out. He also has his North Node closest to the exact sextile to the Derby's North Node, which has been an inconsistent indicator of a winner.

I Want Revenge: His Sun is conjunct the Mars-Venus conjunction, which will give him boundless energy. Whether it will be enough to get the distance, and overcome his hoof problems, is still open to debate. Plus a Saturn-South Node conjunction which is favorable.

Join in the Dance: Sun near Venus, just like I Want Revenge, with whom he shares a birthday. Also Saturn conjoins the South Node, a sign of good fortune.

Mr. Hot Stuff: Mars trines the North Node, which says to me that just being in the Derby may be the high point of his career. Trines do not generally produce victories; oppositions and squares produce victories.

Mine that Bird: He has the same birthday as Musket Man, so see those notes. He is however, the less capable entry, so even great transits will not help him win this thing.

Musket Man: Mixed transits. A square between Mars and Saturn indicates he will find traffic problems and be blocked. Jupiter opposes his Sun, which is quite energizing and lucky. And lastly, Saturn is conjunct the South Node, indicating a reward for hard work. He will be lucky to hit the board, but I do not see a win for him.

Pioneer of the Nile: A Sun-Saturn trine plus a Mars-Sun sextile are pretty minor aspects for a major race. I like this horse but a win does not seem to be in the cards. Or stars.

Quality Road: His Sun is near Venus, but Venus is not a factor in sports events; it is only because Venus and Mars are nearly conjunct that it is a factor this year. QR's birthday is only a few days apart form I Want Revenge's, but he has a closer contact. His Mars is also more closely square Saturn, which may indicate traffic problems. (Revenge's Mars-Saturn aspect is much looser, so it should not be a factor Saturday.)

Regal Ransom: This is Desert Party's stablemate. His Mars squares the Ascendant for the race. Mars trines Uranus, which might produce an upset or surprise if he does better than expected. He also has a Jupiter-Sun opposition, which gives a huge boost to one's fortunes and energies.

Square Eddie: He has a Sun-Saturn trine, indicating a disciplined effort and or a good ride by the jockey. Mars trines Jupiter, for abundant physical energy. Mars squares Uranus exactly, which gives concern for injury. I personally don't think he has been prepped adequately for this race, and hope that he does not suffer a career-ending injury because of it.

Summer Bird: Mars is trine the Jupiter-Neptune transiting conjunction. Gives good energy and luck. He could also make some dumb mistake (Neptune) that costs him all chance.

West Side Bernie: His Sun is past the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, so either he will improve or the second in the last prep race was the high point of the spring career. Mars is conjunct Mercury, which probably will produce a fast pace and a good time but is usually a minor aspect. His Sun is trine the ascendant for the race, producing a favorable effort. There is a Sun-Moon opposition, which tells me that the public will not be fond of him at all, and will probably let the odds rise on him. Saturn is widely trine Mars, but only exact aspects tend to figure in winning efforts.

Win Willy: Sun is widely conjunct Mars, but if it were closer like I Want Revenge's, it would produce a much stronger effect. Mars and Jupiter widely trine, which is also helpful. He just does not have strong personal energy aspects that will support a win.

To sum up, the horses with strong negative factors are: Advice, Papa Clem, Square Eddie, Musket Man and Mine that Bird.

Horse with minor positive factors are: West Side Bernie, Pioneer of the Nile, Flying Private, Mr. Hot Stuff, and Summer Bird.

Horses with strong indicators for a good athletic effort are: Chocolate Candy, Musket Man (altho he probably will not be able to win), Regal Ransom, Desert Party, Quality Road, I Want Revenge and Join in the Dance, Papa Clem, Friesan Fire, Hold Me Back (a possible third or fourth), and possibly General Quarters. Dunkirk is still a question mark, with his Sun near the North Node and also inconjunct Pluto; these are unusual aspects and hard to interpret. They can be highly favorable, but his lack of proper foundation for this race will be difficult to overcome. He will do well to make the superfecta.

Of the last group those with what I feel or suspect may be strongest indicators of a win are Hold Me Back, I Want Revenge, Quality Road, Musket Man, Desert Party, and possibly General Quarters. Even Papa Clem has positive factors that might overcome the negative indicators.

This has been a very hard Derby to interpret, with few of the major aspects that have indicated past winners. I have seen among past winners a transiting Jupiter conjunct Sun, a Sun square or opposite Mars or Jupiter, a Saturn opposite Jupiter, and the exact sextile between natal and transiting North Nodes, and similar aspects involving athletic planets Mars and Jupiter.

Those aspects have not presented themselves this year, except for Hold Me Back, whose birthday is the closest to the date of the North Node exactly sextile the transiting North Node for Derby Day. I am undecided about declaring him the winner, because his Sun is weakly placed at the descendant. But definitely include him in your exacta and trifecta tickets, because he has the kind of running style that people like to see in the Derby.

And if you have been following the pundits who noticed that a gray has won every four years for the last several series, the only grays entered in this year's edition are Dunkirk, General Quarters, and Win Willy.

Astrology of the Kentucky Derby coming soon!

Yes, since I have made a foray into sports astrology on my blog, and gotten such a positive response -- I WILL be adding a brief article on the upcoming Kentucky Derby. I do not promise to pick a winner, only what ones will be making their best effort that day. Stay tuned, same channel, etc.

Your Milky Way Horoscope April 26-May 2

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury is going to go into its “storm” period on the thirtieth (prior to going into another fun retrograde from May 6 to 30), and you may find it very useful to make a list of tasks that must be done so that nothing is overlooked.
Mars in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn on Sunday. If you have ever had a problem with your temper, the time is now to make a huge effort to channel it into some constructive, creative change. You are perhaps too willing to implement a scorched earth policy, a la Sherman's march to the sea. These feelings will pass, so don't do something you'd regret terribly later! Also avoid dangerous neighborhoods.
Mercury also enters Gemini, its home turf (but goes retrograde May 6, as mentioned above). Double-check everything because you do not want to have errors found while Merc is retrograde; errors can be a lot more costly then.
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Fortunately Arian anger is quick to blow over, because you could be sorely tried by the Mars in Aries square to Pluto in Capricorn. Aries prefer to sublimate their conflicts into jogging or other athletic and competitive activities. Good, just give yourself adequate hydration and recovery time. Mars and Venus also approach a sextile to Vesta in Gemini in your third house of neighbors, communications, siblings, etc. You may benefit from quiet time spent journaling or blogging; look back over your entries later and you may realize some surprising insights.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus Sunday till late afternoon, making squares in the morning to Jupiter and Neptune, and tempting you terribly to go back to the brunch buffet for thirds. Another possibility is donating time to a charitable cause. However, midday the Moon conjuncts Mercury, so catch up on calls, email and errands. An Arian may own your heart this month, with your ruler Venus in that sign.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from late afternoon Sunday till Tuesday afternoon. The Moon sextiles Venus Sunday afternoon, so plan a lovely excursion with a friend, possibly with bakery on hand. The Moon then sextiles Mars, also in your eleventh house, and that could mean working off those sweet calories at a gym together. The Moon squares Saturn in your tenth house Monday, so it sounds like a nose-to-the-grindstone day. Tuesday brings a lot more fun and surprises, with aspects to Jupiter, Neptune and Uranus; catch a traveling exhibit or play for a terrific experience.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer from Tuesday afternoon till Thursday evening. Tuesday evening can be pretty stressful so don't take home any work. It could be your spouse who is bringing home too much work, and if that is the case, seek counseling if necessary to bring balance back into your home life. A friend or neighbor may have special insights to share the next day. Thursday brings some laughs back into your week, so catch a comedy or listen to the funny guys on the radio.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from Thursday evening till Saturday night. The Moon trines Venus in Aries on Thursday evening, which sounds lovely for catching a school play or art show. Students might win some scholarship money or grants. Your energy should be boundless on Friday as the Moon in Leo trines Mars; this favors school sports, debating, and any competition. Your spouse may benefit from insurance or a legacy, so let her do whatever she wants with it.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Ceres will be in your sign till August, and this week it makes an inconjunct to Venus in Aries. This is a very creative aspect, and you might finally hit on some adjustment to insurance or inter-generational matters that makes your life easier. Use caution in dealing with new romantic interests till you find out who and what they really are. Those who are already married find out how blessed they are to have the partner they have. Those going back to school have a good month with the Sun in their solar ninth house.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Balance is your middle name, Libra, and this week you are tested on how well you balance demands of family and partner. Resist the urge to bury yourself in your demanding career, classes or a publishing project; your family deserves to have you fully present and spreading your wonderful rays on all. Apply some of what you have learned in class to improve your homelife and it will be worth every cent you paid for tuition. Also make an effort to take everyone to terrific arts programs because they will be great memories for everyone.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Interpersonal friction can adversely affect your health and digestion, so make a special effort to iron out misunderstandings and/or get a third party to deal with material adjustments. You are normally quite a private person who hosts few parties, but look into ways to open your home to others in interesting ways. You might really enjoy having an exchange student, or hosting meetings for spiritual or charitable groups.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Mercury enters your opposite sign, Gemini. Be open to anything that your significant other wishes to share with you. More opportunities may present themselves this month to give presentations, speeches, or sales talks. Mercury's square to Ceres in Virgo, and trine to Venus in Aries, tells you to present yourself as an energetic, take-charge person who also cares about the environment and greening your product.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Capricorns will be strongly affected by the Mars in Aries square to Pluto in your sign. Make sure any major actions fall into your overall plans, and are not just some angry impulse. There is a chance that conflicts can arise regarding your home or family. Hope you are not being squeezed into a foreclosure, or suffering from family rifts. Seek counseling in either case; state foreclosure counseling is free, and your church may have a low-cost family counseling service.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Transiting Venus and Mars in Aries will prod January Aquarians with into getting busier, possibly with frequent trips to local hardware and paint stores for sprucing-up projects. Perhaps you have been prodded, too, by a spouse? Not everyone likes squinting at paint chips, true, but just let the S.O. pick the color and be done with it. You might possibly volunteer for neighborhood or highway cleanups instead, and we thank you. Juno in Pisces in your second house (until July) means your spouse will probably have better success managing funds, so be supportive.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Venus and Mars transiting thru Aries means that they are approaching a semi-sextile to Juno transiting thru Pisces, with Vesta in Gemini squaring your Juno also. Vesta in your solar fourth house of home and family means that you view your home as a refuge from the travails of the world. You just want to tend to the house, maybe read a bit, and just cocoon. Now Venus and Mars are prodding you to get busier, perhaps with a vigorous spring cleaning, perhaps with a veggie garden.

Your Milky Way Horoscope April 19-25

By Milky Way Maid

Happy Birthday to all those of the Taurus persuasion. Famous Taureans include dancers Fred Astaire, ballerina Margot Fonteyn, singer Barbra Streisand, child star Shirley Temple, and countless other singers, dancers, composers, and musicians.
Venus and Mars have a date in Pisces on Tuesday night before dashing into Aries. Presumably they will drink too much wine and not remember what happened.
Venus enters Aries on Friday at 3:18 am Eastern for a six week visit. Fire signs can all benefit from trying a new look, visiting the salon for a new hairstyle, adding something red to the wardrobe, and in general putting your face in front of anyone you are interested in. You were voted most likely to put in a full day of errands and projects before sitting down with the cake and ice cream.
Mars precedes Venus into Aries, entering on Wednesday at 9:44 am Eastern for a five week visit. So the fire signs will get a double dose of celestial energy, and don't be surprised if all the Arians, Leos and Sags you know are bouncing around like basketballs and chattering about some new 'someone' they met. Mars also can be difficult to express in a healthy way, so impatience, small accidents, blurting out inconvenient truths, and arguments can be frequent during this time.
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Sun is in Aries from Wednesday morn till midday Friday. Wednesday afternoon may feature conflicts with the boss due to a Moon square Pluto in your solar tenth house of career; at best it can mean digging for the source of a problem or auditing books. Thursday favors physical therapy sessions. Venus enters Aries on Friday at 3:18 am Eastern; time to spruce up and visit the salon for a great new look (and maybe add something red to your wardrobe, too).

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – The Moon in Pisces sextiles the Sun in your sign late Sunday night; check messages from friends or groups for meeting agendas. Monday evening the Sun in Taurus trines Chiron in Virgo in your solar fifth house; Chiron suggests that artistic outlets will be therapeutic for you. This includes painting, piano, song, dance. On Wednesday night Mercury in Taurus squares Jupiter in Aquarius, helping you dream big, altho details elude you. Sun in Taurus trines Pluto in your solar ninth house early Thursday; this is a good day to begin a course of study, and your investigative powers are high. The Moon is in Taurus from midday Friday till the following Sunday afternoon. Saturday is better spent working on chores, then take time in the evening to use someone as a sounding board to clarify your thoughts.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Mars and Venus enter your solar eleventh house this week. You will have great fun organizing a birthday party for a friend, perhaps several friends this month. Also I think you will spend many productive hours with clubs and other organizations (solar eleventh house) you belong to; they will be a boon (Venus) to you in professional and personal life. Feng shui: place a prism or hanging crystal (and a phone) in your 'helpful people' corner for beneficial relationships.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Juno in Pisces is trine Pallas in Cancer; Since it is in your solar ninth house, it is likely that a strong woman will play a key role in your education and possibly act as a mentor-type. There is also a slight chance that you may become seriously involved with a staff or faculty member. Tues-Wed may be your best period this week with all those watery conjunctions between Moon, Venus, Mars in your ninth house; all I can say is if you have a book ready to show a publisher, go for it. The Moon square Pluto on Wednesday afternoon may catch you in the crossfire; you might have to go into 'soothe' mode.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Mars and Venus enter Aries, your solar ninth house this week. Expect lots happening in fields of law, higher education, publishing or even religion. You may meet an agent or editor who makes a big difference in your book project, or a mentor-type who guides you onto a higher path. You are great at doing readings of your books or plays, so I am sure you will have no problem booking dates for such promo events.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Mars inters Aries, your solar eighth house of debt. This may bring an unplanned expense that you are forced to put on credit, especially since it is square Pluto, another indicator of a debt or tax. There is also the possibility that a baby may enlarge your household. The Sun-Pluto trine in the other earth signs Wed-Thurs also brings a boon to you if you are producing some physical product, whether it is a knickknack or office software or a even a movie.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Mars enters your solar seventh house, Aries, and this often brings a new male into your life; not necessarily a romantic object, but perhaps someone at work or wherever. Mars will square Pluto in your fourth house so do not stoke the fire of jealousy. Venus also enters the seventh so make a point of a weekly date with hubby, or at least candles at a romantic dinner table.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 - Mars enters your solar sixth house of health and lower-level work. Mars is very strong in Aries so I look for an upswing in your energies and well-being. It will square Pluto early in this period, so I hope no surgery is needed. Let's hope for an intensive self-evaluation instead, with a total revamp of your lifestyle. Venus also enters the same house, bringing more opportunities to pick up temp work or make more money on a sideline. This could be fun.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Mars enters your solar fifth house of fun and games so sports will be on the agenda; best days: Tues-Wed. Either watching games or participating, you will have loads of fun especially if you take a certain special someone along to the games. Celebrate Earth Day camping outdoors or with a spring hike to check out the trilliums and marsh marigolds.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Mars enters your solar fourth house of home and family and unfortunately this can be a volatile influence; it can mean a male guest or workmen, or it can bring arguments and risk of fire. It can simply mean heat, physical heat, so invest in sun shades and proper landscaping to shield windows from the sun. Feng shui: A prism hung in a sunny window breaks up the heat and people feel less stressed by it. Also a wooden match wedged between the stove and sink (break off the flammable tip) discourages stove fires. A mirror above a fireplace balances the firey influence of the fireplace, so there are fewer arguments.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from the previous weekend till Sunday night. The Moon squares Mercury very early Sunday so make sure you clarify communications regarding plans for the day; you may not want to go anywhere and that's OK, too. The Moon conjuncts Jupiter (morn) and Neptune (evening) making you altruistic and charitable toward all. It is also good for incubating a dream; see dreams.ca for instructions and info about a study.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon enters Pisces Sunday night and stays till Wednesday morn. The Moon sextiles Pluto in Capricorn, your eleventh house of groups and friends; spend time schmoozing with friends and they may suddenly give you a referral or or other boon. Venus conjuncts Mars in your sign on Tuesday night so be prepared to either chat up that special someone or have a romantic dinner with hubby. Mars enters your second house of money so be cautious about credit, and examine bills for mystery fees.

Have You Ever Wasted Your Professional Advice on a Friend?

by Milky Way Maid
Several years someone that I thought was a close friend asked when she should buy a car. (This falls under electional astrology.) It was early spring and I did not think the transits were so great, and so at first I told her to wait till July. There were going to be much better aspects to Uranus in July.
Oh no, I've got to buy it in May, she says. That's when I get my bonus check (or whatever it was). I just want to know which day I should sign the papers. And she gave me two or three days of a certain week to choose from.
Well there was not much to choose from, was there? It was like being under the gun. So I looked at which aspects were exact on each day. Let me see, I cannot recall now which aspects were on which day from so long ago. But it was something like a Mercury square Saturn on a Wednesday and a Mars square Uranus on Friday, so I split the difference and told her Thursday.
So fine, she buys the car and is very happy with it. ONE YEAR later, making the progressed chart activate the aspect on the following day, she had an accident. Her car was rammed by someone wanted on a warrant, and the crash pushed the engine further to the rear. Fortunately she was OK, but the car sustained over $4K damage at that time.
Yet what did she say to me years later? She blamed me for what happened to the car. You told me to buy it on this day, she whined. And I fired right back at her, I told you to wait till July, but nooo! You had the money in your hot little hands and couldn't wait.
She had no rejoinder to that, but this is what I mean about totally wasting your time trying to help people that you think are friends. No matter how happy they are with the purchase or whatever, they will blame YOU for everything that ever goes wrong with it. Life comes with ups and downs, and no house, car or marriage is absolutely perfect every day of its existence.

By Milky Way Maid

Thursday the 16th is a red-letter day with a grand trine of Moon in Capricorn, Mercury in Taurus, and Saturn in Virgo. Good day for scientific seminars or giving oral dissertations; anything involving communication, science, discipline, organization, economics and the public. Watch the news that day for any science announcements from government agencies or related fields. Earth sign trines favor building something concrete. The Mercury-Saturn trine is exact on Friday so see if there is any followup that evening. And anyone with natal planets at 13-15 degrees of the earth signs will probably be affected.

Mars is conjunct Uranus in Pisces on Wednesday morn, the 15th. Drive defensively on your morning commute, and be careful of all potential accidents, including putting your foot in your mouth.

Chiron approaches a conjunction to Neptune in altruistic Aquarius; non-profits and food banks are being stretched past their limits, and as you know because the Madoff scheme burst, some have been forced to close. Please donate whatever small amount you can to your local food bank, shelter, and other support structures because I fear a crunch is coming and more will shut down.
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – The Aries Sun sextiles Neptune Wednesday afternoon; perhaps you donate some of your abundant energies to a charitable organization's project, or just go to the movies with friends. It's OK if you do both. Your ruler Mars is in unpredictable conjunction with Uranus so be prepared for any surprises regarding people around you. Keep an eagle eye out for safety conditions wherever you are. May as restock the safety kit at home, work and car. And watch your temper as well, because things you say can unnerve others so much that they dash into accidents.

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Mercury in your sign is part of the grand trine Thursday with the Moon in Capricorn, and Saturn in Virgo. You may be called on to make the official announcement (with your broadcast-worthy voice) or provide other communication services. Saturday may provide some obstacles like misspeaking, stumbling, stuttering, but concentrated effort (trine to Saturn) can pay off. Mercury is also in sextile to the asteroid Juno in Pisces; you are better at speaking in one-on-one situations and marital relations stand to improve. Those who need some marriage counseling can make great strides now just by learning constructive communication techniques.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Because your ruler Mercury is involved in the grand trine this week, please read all notes about that above. The asteroid Vesta will be at 2 degrees Gemini mid-month, and so it has been or will be in close aspect to Pluto in Capricorn (inconjunct), North Node in Aquarius (trine), Juno in Pisces (square), and Ceres in Virgo (square), and Pallas in Cancer (semisextile). These are making very subtle changes in your life, altho the North Node can vault you to prominence or fame in some way. You probably feel conflicted over instinctual drives to marry or have children, vs. career drives and need to dialogue with your inner self to negotiate a 'treaty'. Read Dr. J.S. Bolen's excellent book, Goddesses in Every Woman, for insight into this negotiation process.

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Pallas Athena entered your sign about April 7 and will be there about 2 months. Pallas is very career-oriented and ambitious. You can be the go-to person for media quotes or get business referrals. Pallas is also trining Juno in Pisces in your solar ninth house, again activating your sector of law, publishing and higher education. If considering any projects in those sectors, do not delay getting applications or book drafts to people who can act on them. Expect challenging relationships while your ruler the Moon is in Capricorn Wed.-Fri.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – Those with birthdays in the last decan of Leo will have a nice week with the transiting Sun in the latter part of Aries. You definitely feel the onset of spring and enjoy the warmth of the sun on your face. Lately your get-togethers with friends have been less boisterous, and more of the gathering-by-the-fireplace type. Maybe you are mellowing out. Mercury in your solar tenth house can bring more messages, meetings and speaking engagements. Also remind family members to wear their seatbelts and drive defensively.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Lucky you, you are right in the thick of this grand trine with Saturn in your sign. Your expertise or discipline has put you in the right spot to benefit; you may be called on to make an announcement or craft some graphic enhancements. Economists, engineers and scientists among you may be especially busy and/or excited over discoveries and reports. Monday may be difficult, but Thursday and Friday much smoother. You might be in a creative mood on Saturday so rearrange and redecorate to your heart's content.

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Your ruler Venus goes direct this week Friday at 3:24 pm Eastern time, at about 29 degrees Pisces. Librans with natal Suns in late degrees of Libra will be more affected than others. Look back at what happened around March 6 when she went retrograde to determine what might happen now. If a layoff went into effect, you could be called back. If you were let go, perhaps unemployment checks may start arriving upon the termination of severance benefits. My only caveat this week is to make sure that workplace safety is as important as your work.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The spotlight may be on your opposite number this week so try to be the gracious and proud spouse. Venus goes direct in your solar fifth house of fun, games, sports, children and art. Renew your acquaintance with creative expression and find your inner child again. For you, the Mars-Uranus conjunction may mean a happy surprise, since you are more comfortable with Mars energies.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from midday Sunday till Tuesday night. The Moon squares Ceres on Sunday, so don't try to jump the gun and get some plants in the garden early, no matter how warm it is. The aspect will nip food crops early if you are so foolish. This is followed by a square to Saturn in Virgo Monday; you see the negative now, and also have problems relating to persons of the opposite sex. Tuesday midday can also be problematic, but things flow much better in the afternoon and evening. Identify ideals you hold in common.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from Tuesday night till midday Friday. You go into detective mode Wednesday and do research or get to the bottom of minor mysteries. Thursday is a hi-energy day with a grand trine of Moon in Cap, Mercury in Taurus, and Saturn in Virgo. Good day for scientific seminars or giving oral dissertations; anything involving communication, science, discipline, organization and the public. A kinder gentler aspect graces Friday as the Moon sextiles Venus direct; perhaps a neighbor brings a plate of cookies.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from midday Friday till late Sunday. Venus goes direct Friday in your solar second house of money, lucky you. Venus brings smaller gifts than Jupiter, but are usually more personal. On Saturday the Moon squares Mercury in Taurus, which can make you tongue-tied or mellifluous; either way you are likely to remember the moment. Sunday has lots of Moon conjunctions to Jupiter and Neptune, and you will enjoy treating everyone to a wonderful dinner out or other extravagance.

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Some weeks are best spent hiding under the covers. OK, if you insist on doing something, you can curl up on the couch with a stack of mysteries. Mars and Uranus are conjunct in your sign this week, and they are so unpredictable together.

Astrology of Love by the Sun Signs; Part 4 - Sag, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces

by Milky Way Maid

How to Attract and Keep a Sag --
SAGITTARIUS: Are you sure you really want to settle down with a Sag? Sag is a rather footloose type, but he's always a great one for sharing great times and great adventures. Want someone to go sky-diving with? Get a Sag. Want someone to hit the casino, tour Europe, go skiing, or ballooning with? Sag is the one. Want someone to cheer you up? Get a Sag. Have a passport, and be ready to pack at a moment's notice for the next adventure. Get yourself on the alert list for last-minute travel deals so you can take off together. Sag will also go for outdoor sports like hiking, skiing, horseback riding. Never say that you just want to hang around the house. Never complain that you might break a leg doing whatever. And NEVER be pessimistic. Ask which they'd rather do: take a trip around the world or climb Mount Everest. They might say both.

How to Attract and Keep a Capricorn --
CAPRICORN: Cappy is one of the most requested signs in the astro-dating field. People want them because they are likely to be very successful in their own company or in a large corporation. But I tell ya, I knew a Cap who liked to spend a few weeks a year roughing it in a tiny cabin. He said it made him appreciate all the amenities of modern life more. So if you can tolerate camping, tenting, hiking on your vacations, or even mountain-climbing, go for it. Cappy also can be a bit insecure about taste in clothes so if you can gently advise him on what tie looks best with what shirt, that will go a long way with him. Help him to look terrific, help edit his presentations and reports so he looks brilliant, be his secret executive secretary, and especially be the kind of corporate wife who hosts perfect dinners with the boss and is a master of protocol. Know how to make the perfect martini, set the perfect table, and send the perfect invitations. Cap women are equally ambitious and will pare the budget to pay tuition for the best colleges, etc. NOTE: Moon in Capricorn is just as ambitious and corporate-minded.

How to Attract and Keep an Aquarian --
AQUARIUS: Aquarians do not live in the past although they can be great story-tellers about their growing-up years. You must have an active interest not only in technology but in humanity as well (technology as the servant of man, not its master). In other words, a computer is nice BUT Aquarians do not glue themselves to it. They get a lot of enjoyment out of belonging to groups, whether at work or otherwise, so do not begrudge his time away from you to be with them. Heck, you may as well join too if it is an open membership. Many astrologers make the mistake of thinking Aquarians are into offbeat stuff, but not in my experience! They are very conventional and committed in relationships, but they do hope for a better future for mankind thru progress and technological achievements. Of all signs, they are the most future-oriented. Try asking them what kind of future he or she sees for humanity.

How to Attract and Keep a Pisces --
PISCES: Pisces probably goes with their feelings more than just about any other sign, so ask what they feel like doing tonight; be prepared to scrap previous plans (don't buy tickets ahead). Find restaurants and malls that offer live music if possible. Take her to free summer concerts in the park. Hanging out at the beach is good, too, especially for younger Pisceans. This is one sign you can probably confess your escapades playing hooky from school to. Dates revolve around gaining experiences rather than shopping or eating; examples are travel to another city, amusement parks, camping or picnicking, or trying a new game. Attract them by asking how that photo or painting or song makes them feel; ask why they like it. You might get some very fascinating answers to that. Play with her cat, and feed her fish.

Astrology of Love by the Sun Signs; Part 3, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio

by Milky Way Maid

How to Attract and Keep a Leo --
LEO: Has a large ego! If you're good at sucking up while being artful about it, you got it made. Likes to make a show of spending money so never, but never, protest that something is too expensive. Do not use coupons or be cheap when on dates; let your scrimping be a deep dark secret. Wear brand-name clothing, etc. on your dates or you are history UNLESS you can say you designed it yourself. Dates may be spent at theatre, cinema, gallery, or casino, or doing creative things like writing/composing/making puppets or staging a little show. Or painting -- with a bright, bold palette of colors. No point in asking “which he'd rather do: A or B” because he is probably doing everything he ever wanted.

How to Attract and Keep a Virgo --
VIRGO: Virgoes are not all dreadfully neat and picky. They can be lots of fun and very down to earth. Usually some part of their life is extremely neat and systematic, and they are working on applying that to more areas of their life. Show them some cool website where they can fill in their data and make a spreadsheet showing where they need to diversify their investments, etc. Dates may be spent golfing, viewing documentaries, visiting museums, attending lectures. It will almost be like school, but at least you can duck out of exams. You must show that you respect work and you must never confess to playing hooky. Never admit to periods of unemployment unless you used the time to write a book or nurse Aunt Agatha thru her last illness. Favorite word may be “perfect”. Be neat, clean and sanitary. Hope you like health foods and broccoli.

How to Attract and Keep a Libran --
LIBRA: Libra has a fixation on perfection, too. If you have a mole or the like, get rid of it. Attracting one is a bit easier if you wear a very artistically-colored tie or shirt, or are hanging around an art gallery. Libra women like to feel that they are treated as equals; so take turns picking the movie, restaurant, etc. Offer to go halves on an admission price or on a chance on a door prize. Likes to do things together, and that does not mean that you fix the leak while she makes lunch. It means she hands you the tools or reads the instructions to you on how to assemble the gazebo. Respect her intelligence, answer her questions, and she is a great partner in any project or business you have going. Needless to say, manners are important, so apologize if you forget to refill her wine glass. Ask which she'd rather do: write a best-selling novel or paint for the rest of her life.

How to Attract and Keep a Scorpio --
SCORPIO: A Scorpio is about total commitment. Do not think you are teasing him by pretending interest in another man/woman. That only tells him that you are not ready to commit to a life together. This commitment may also entail belonging to the same religion or church, so this is not something that you can easily fake for a few months till you get the wedding ring. A Scorpio is also more likely than some signs to believe in psychic or spiritual phenomena, so joining the same church or spiritual group organization is a good idea. Dates usually have plenty of time to talk and get acquainted, such as over dinner, a bottle of wine, even cribbage. Ask what they did in a past life. Ask which they'd rather do, take a long cruise or scuba dive the Caribbean.

Astrology of Love by the Sun Signs: Part 2, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer

How to Attract and Keep an Aries --
ARIES: You gotta be fit to keep up with an Aries, so if you are not currently in an exercise regimen, you better start now. This applies to both male and female Arians. Aries likes to see a fit partner; I knew of a first-degree Aries woman who greatly admired her husband's tight butt. Dates may revolve around activities like dancing, bowling, etc. or around watching sporting events. Keep up with the local teams, know the terminology of a sport, and try to look like a cheerleader. Show off the trophy or medal you won as a kid in peewee league. Restaurant choices tend to favor Mexican or other spicy foods; find a place with jalapeno poppers. Aries sometimes likes to pick fights just for the fun of it, and boy is it fun making up. Also, keep in mind that Aries takes the lead, so while you can make suggestions and objections to details, you will probably not be able to veto the whole idea.

How to Attract and Keep a Taurus --
TAURUS: A Taurus likes to be comfortable! You might even find a depression in the carpet in front of his favorite easy chair, which also has an old but soft and comfy blanket tossed over across it to cuddle under on chilly nights. Of course it goes without saying that Taurus likes a good meal, so if you can cook, by all means offer to make supper for him every Sunday. (or if you know a nice reasonably-priced family restaurant nearby, suggest going there). Try to look like you know your way around the kitchen, and it is OK to try out recipes on him. Likes nature and gardens, and needs to be forced to exercise so try to get him or her in the habit of taking walks in the local nature center or arboretum. Ask what he or she would rather do if s/he had a whole month off from work and no concerns about cost.

How to Attract and Keep a Gemini --
GEMINI: While mastery of the full panoply of communication devices is pretty widespread among all signs nowadays, a Gemini is never far from a cellphone, a bluetooth, maybe a pager, and the iPhone -- communicating by email, voice, IM, and Twitter. Besides multi-tasking to the max, he or she may also be a compulsive writer, scribbling for a blog or website or other platform for sharing one's output. You may have to start writing each other on a social news website in order to get a word in edgewise with his dozens of other friends. Offer to swap comments on each other's articles. Gemini is also a huge flirt, and loves jokes and plays on words. Might spend the whole date talking and nothing else. Tickle the palm of the hands and watch the reaction.

How to Attract and Keep a Cancerian --
CANCER: Never insult their mother. Mom is probably very important to him or her, and that will not change. Spouses are more likely to be trophies in this sign than in any other; you are arm candy, so keep yourself youthful as possible and keep the phone number of a dandy plastic surgeon for when that day comes. Cancerians are often big babies which means you (or a waitress) will wait on them hand and foot. Chest is erogenous zone so find an excuse to run your fingers thru their chest hair. Dates may center on being near a body of water: pool, lake, ocean, even a fountain. (Hope you can swim.) Restaurant choices tend to seafood joints or family-owned establishments. Cancer women will be the boss at home so get used to letting her choose the movie, etc. And they are great executives, just like Capricorn, so they run the house like a well-oiled machine.

Astrology of Love by the Sun Signs, The Basics

by Milky Way Maid

One of the perennial questions that astrologers get is how to make someone of a given sign fall in love with them, or how to keep them. How do I attract a Capricorn man? How do I keep an Aries?

There are certain principles that apply to all signs, of course. Be honest, be his best friend, support each other emotionally as well as financially. Astrologically, your moon signs should be compatible also; moons that square each other or oppose each other warn you that you may have too much friction to live under the same roof! Masculine and feminine planets should be conjunct or in harmonious aspect; for example Mars should be sextile, trine or conjunct Venus; the Sun or Ascendant should be conjunct, sextile or trine the Moon.

Some astrologers use the Arabic Part of Marriage to find out more about the nature of the marriage and if it will be auspicious or not. Calculate the Part of Marriage by adding the Ascendant and Seventh House cusp, then subtract the placement of Venus. (You can read a nice, clear description of two ways to do that, at www-personal.umich.edu/~pfa/dreamhouse/attic/lots/calc.html.)

And if you have read any of the books by the Magi Society, then you are probably also aware that there are often contacts between the Chiron of one, with planets in the other's chart. Chiron does not always guarantee happiness; the Diana and Prince Charles marriage featured Chiron contacts, and we all know how that turned out.

OK, let's go to the specifics of sign by sign. The following applies not only to the Sun in these signs but Moon, Mars, Venus or Ascendant. Mars will apply more to the sports and other activities while Venus applies more to their values and love nature. Sometimes the Ascendant really expresses itself in the physical appearance, and sometimes more strongly in the personality.

Go check out the second part of this article for notes on Aries, Taurus, Gemini and Cancer. Another segment covers Leo, Virgo, Libra and Scorpio. Then the last segment covers Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

Your Milky Way Horoscope April 5-11

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury enters Taurus on Thursday morning. Mercury here is not the quickest, but when they learn something they know it backwards and forwards. Taurus has a great memory, almost as legendary as Cancer. Mercury here is good for finance and writing music/songs.
The Sun sextiles Jupiter on Friday night. Could be lucky personally for Aries, Sag, Leo, Aquarius and Libra. Audition, mail in resumes, get your name out there for jobs and contests.
Also, Mercury in Taurus trines Pluto in Capricorn on Friday night. It is a good aspect for research and investigation, tho you are not likely to be doing that on date night! Probably your conversation will go deep into unknown territory.

Venus retrogrades back into Pisces on Saturday morn; uh-oh, stuff you thought you had squared away in January has to be done over. Natch. What else started in January? Yes, the Obama administration will probably have a couple more do-overs, not just the inaugural swearing-in.
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop.

ARIES - March 20-April 19 – Sun. morn, Mercury in Aries is trines Moon in Leo; you will enjoy anything having to do with your kids or children in general, so volunteer for Sunday school or take yours to the playground. You might be accused of ducking out of chores this week so be super-scrupulous about getting them done. Tues. overnight features a loving Venus aspect; at least say those magic words I Love You. The Sun sextiles Jupiter Fri. night; good for a first date (or the weekly poker game with the guys).

TAURUS - April 20-May 20 – Mercury enters Taurus on Fri. morn; see note above. Mercury goes right into a trine to Pluto in Capricorn that evening; do research, rehearse for a recital, or read a dozen mysteries. You also have a chance to glimpse insights into your real motivations and biases so be aware of your automatic thoughts; ask yourself if they are really true. Your ruler Venus retrogrades back into Pisces on Sat.; you might hear from an old friend you haven't seen in ages.

GEMINI - May 21-June 20 – Thursday's trines between Moon in Libra and Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius can be a boon to you, too. They are in your solar fifth (children, entertainment, gambling, stock market) and ninth houses (law, college, publishing). Perhaps a child will get an acceptance letter to the college of choice, or a scholarship. Perhaps a publisher accepts your book. Perhaps an article or interview you have posted online gets tons of reaction. You go, girl (or guy).

CANCER - June 21-July 22 – Venus retrogrades back into your solar ninth house, Pisces. If you have been on a wait list for a class that was filled, you may get in; this is an example of the kind of luck that Venus can give in the ninth house. Matters that are related to law, college, publishing or organized religion can be affected by this transit. Mercury moving into your solar eleventh house, Taurus, can bring messages from friends and any clubs; you may decide to re-affiliate with a group.

LEO - July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is still in your sign Sunday morn; you will probably be up-n-at-em bright and early so get lots done. By midday you will be ready to just veg out or at best, watch a matinee. Mercury enters your tenth house of career on Thursday so expect more calls and messages and quotes. Friday night's sextile between Sun and Jupiter can be quite lucky for you if auditioning, etc. Performers could get a lucky break; a partner's luck can spill over on you, too.

VIRGO - Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from Sun. night till Tues. night. Possible conflicts with an Aries Sunday as Saturn and the Moon are inconjunct Sun and Venus in Aries; work out some compromise over chores. Tip: a little bribery goes a long way. This effort continues Mon. and you may have to enlist a child to help enforce the rules. There's a struggle to hold your temper but sublimating your frustrations with chores or exercise is key. This opposition Tues. is between Mars-Uranus in Pisces and the Moon in your sign; be safety-minded!

LIBRA - Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from Tues. evening till early Fri. morn. A surprise gift may come your way either late Tues. or very early Wed.; the gifting may go both ways. Wed.-Thurs. are opportunities to accomplish much, but avoid impulse. Thurs. has several trines from the Moon to the Aquarian planets Jupiter and Neptune. You may be tempted to donate something that you are better off selling; check current market prices. Your thrills this week may come from watching your children in plays and recitals.

SCORPIO - Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from early Friday morn till midday Sunday. The Moon opposes Mercury in Taurus Fri. morn; good for “watching self go by” and learning about your motivations. Other than that it is not good for making clear, rational decisions till the weekend. Late morn is OK for research or getting to the bottom of any issue. Venus retrogrades back into Pisces, your solar fifth house, Sat.; possibly you could win back some cash in a drawing this month.

SAGITTARIUS - Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Mercury trines Pluto in your money sign, Capricorn late Fri./early Sat. Maybe the late radio show has a call-in contest for tickets, or you find a sweeps online. You're always up for anything that will make a good story later so give it a go. Venus retrogrades back into your fourth house of home and family on Saturday; you may have to re-do decorating or change your mind about the color of a rug or flooring. Get samples before you choose.

CAPRICORN - Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Mercury enters Taurus on Thursday morn, in your solar fifth house of speculation, children, recreation and entertainment. Perhaps you will enjoy some musical performances, maybe ones in which children or grandchildren are performing. Also your judgment in general can improve. On Friday the Moon sextiles and Mercury trines Capricorn; children can be a boon, and friends may help get you into a favorable school or company.

AQUARIUS - Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – On Sunday your humanitarian and progressive views will not find a receptive audience, but proclaim them anyway because you plant a seed. Venus retrogrades back into Pisces, your money house; she forgot to give you gift before leaving. Mercury enters Taurus, your solar fourth house of home and family; Communications can improve with family members tho you have to make the effort; hugs are welcome, too!

PISCES - Feb. 18-March 19 – Saturn in your opposite sign has been a burden, hey? Perhaps a spouse has been laying down the law, maybe the spouse has less work than formerly, but there has been a definite feeling of restriction and responsibility in the relationship. Saturn won't be there forever; it enters Libra by November and stays there for good the following July. Meanwhile Venus retrogrades back into your sign till late April so enjoy a little love 'n' kindness.
