Your Milky Way Horoscope Nov. 17-23, 2013
By
Milky Way Maid
Full Moon at 25
degrees, 26' Taurus (conjunct bad-boy star Algol) at 10:16 am Sunday,
Nov. 17. Moon is trine Jupiter,
exalted in Cancer, so that represents a good deal of help which
ameliorates any bad that comes from the lunation. The state of Israel
(May 14, 1948) has its Sun and Ascendant conjunct Algol; will they
make another of their surprise attacks on a neighbor? Alex Trenoweth
has an interesting essay on Algol at
http://alextrenoweth.blogspot.com/2011/05/caput-algol.html
Mars
at 20 degrees Virgo sextiles Jupiter in Cancer at 9:49 am Tuesday.
Mars plus Jove spells a bit of luck in everything, and extra physical
and competitive energy which needs to be burned off. Your physical
battery gets charged up! You can get really cranky if you do not have
an outlet for this energy so make time for sports and games. Legal
decisions (Jupiter) may go in your favor. New business ventures or
other projects are likely to be a success unless other major aspects
or progressions deny it.
Mercury at 9 degrees
Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 9:07 pm Wednesday. Pluto
digs down deep for more information, more details (Mercury) in a
relentless quest for answers. We may investigate subjects in fields
like astrology, psychology, reincarnation, and other mysteries of the
mind and soul; we browse bookstores or attend lectures. (We may also
play at puzzle-solving for fun and relaxation, anything from doing
Sudoku to reading mystery novels.) This transit ties in with Chiron
virtually standing still at 9 degrees Pisces the last quarter of the
year. It may be that some of us will have to face the (medical)
music, have the surgery they have put off for months, or at least get
a proper diagnosis of what troubles them.
The Sun enters
Sagittarius at 10:48 pm Thursday,
ushering in the annual holiday season of splurges in shopping and
pigging out and just generally ignoring one's regimens of diet or
budget or anything else for that matter. Sun in Sag types want to be
free – or at least feel that they are free in some part of their
lives even if they are wage slaves like everyone else. Can be
horribly pompous and expect to be acknowledged as the authority in
whatever; needs to be taken down a peg at times. Still they have
interesting things to say, even if they are miles off base. A good
Sag is able to pick up people who are down, and set them back on
course re-inspired with Sagittarian optimism. Their legendary luck
often relies on uncanny hunches. Not very steady in applying self to
a course of study or career, unless he or she has a spouse who
motivates him.
A brilliant conversationalist but often cannot apply
that verbal skill to an orderly thesis or even an editorial.
Dismisses tedious work as mere petty details, which he leaves to
underlings. Loves the outdoors and most sports, and is usually an
excellent and gifted athlete. Famous people with the Sun in
Sag include: Frank Sinatra,
Mary Martin, James Thurber, Connie Francis, Mark Twain, Patty Duke,
John Osborne, Jane Fonda, Joe DiMaggio, Ludwig van Beethoven,
Margaret Chase Smith, and former German chancellor Willy Brandt.
Venus
at 16 degrees Capricorn sextiles Saturn in Scorpio at 1:46 pm
Saturday. Venus with Capricorn
is actually a pretty good combo, with Venus softening the usually
austere lines of Saturn. It is a pleasure (Venus) to do one's duty
(Saturn) for a loved one; it is a labor of love. We discuss what our
mutual expectations (Saturn) are in a relationship (Venus). Venus is
able to apply herself to detailed work in arts or crafts. Business
related to the arts goes well, so if you have works you would like
handled by a gallery, make an appointment to show your portfolio.
Juno at 13 degrees Aquarius squares Saturn; one person tries to
dominate while the other wants equality. Meanwhile Venus highlights
sharing and intimacy, even tho one party may want too much in the way
of constant approval.

also a kind of book review on a book that accidentally talks about
ancient astronomy. The article on Pope Francis is here:
